We stopped by this coffee bakery expecting a cozy experience and some fresh pastries. The food had its highlights, I'll give it that. The grilled cheese was genuinely tasty, and I really liked the cortado. The pecan pie was fine -- not outstanding, but enjoyable enough. The croissant, though, was disappointing. It was served cold, not warmed up at all, and surprisingly, they don't even offer a plain croissant. It may sound like a minor detail, but when you're paying bakery-level prices, those details count. The bigger problem, however, was the service -- especially the brunette woman at the counter. From the second we approached, the atmosphere felt unfriendly. No smile, no greeting, no eye contact. There was no willingness to assist, no recommendations, and no sense of hospitality whatsoever. Her expression stayed cold the entire time, and it honestly felt like we were inconveniencing her simply by ordering. To top it off, it took nearly five minutes just to get a basic receipt, with no explanation or acknowledgment. And that's the thing about customer service -- it shapes the entire experience. A café can have great coffee, appealing food, and a beautiful interior, but when the first interaction feels distant and unwelcoming, it overshadows everything else. Staff members are the face of a business, and when customers leave feeling ignored or unwanted, it leaves a lasting impression for all the wrong reasons. Beautiful space and some solid food, but service is what defines whether people return -- and unfortunately, this experience made us not want to come back.
Let me start off with the ambience, the bakery is very cute and inviting. If you sit outside during the cold, there are blankets you can use. It wouldn't be a bad idea to have some heaters throughout the outdoor seating. I ordered the breakfast sandwich with ham and it was delicious. My husband ordered the bacon and eggs. It was good but not a lot of food for the price. He ordered Americano and it was weak in taste. I ordered a tea. It came in a large tea pot, but only had one tea bag in it and therefore had little flavor. I would much rather have a cup of tea with one bag. Overall the food was very good, but a little on the pricey side for what you got. We don't have a problem paying for a good breakfast as long as the portions are reasonable. The service was great. Our orders came quickly and staff cleaned up after us in an appropriate time.
Persephone Bakery is a cute stand alone building just off the main square in Jackson, WY. We stopped in this small quaint space with many happy patrons enjoying their morning sweets. Space was limited so we elected to grab and go. A glass case displaying the baked good let you know that the selection of treats is vast. A blueberry and carrot cake type muffins were ordered from a middle age lady with a snippet attitude. Customer service is not one of her strong suits. The large muffins were packed with flavor and not over-sweet. The base of BOTH muffins were over-cooked, dry and stuck to the bottom wrapper. Persephone Bakery makes a large variety of good tasting baked goods. The dry and overcooked base sometimes happens. It was just a lack of attention at a vital step during the process. I hope you give Persephone Bakery a chance as they do know know about tasty treats. Perhaps the lady at the counter can find a job that better suits her snotty attitude.
We stopped in on our last day on the way out of town. The cafe was pretty busy at lunchtime on a May Monday. The interior was really cute and seemed intentional with all the decor and set up. We ordered one salad and one sandwich. Both of us liked our meals, but I will note that the sandwich doesn't come with anything, you have to pay for à la cart items. We also got 2 bakery items to go and enjoyed those as well. I would recommend the place if in town
Persephone Bakery -- 2 Stars The food had its moments, I'll give it that. The grilled cheese was genuinely good -- probably the best thing we ordered. My wife got a cortado and she really enjoyed it. However, the croissant was a letdown -- it came out cold, not warmed up at all, and on top of that, they don't even offer a plain croissant. Only chocolate. For a bakery, that's a pretty basic miss. My hazelnut latte was disappointing. It was overly sweet and had an artificial flavor to it that I couldn't get past. Nobody asked me about sugar level or customization -- it just showed up that way. Small thing, but it matters when you're paying bakery prices. Now the service -- that's the real problem, and it starts with the brunette-haired lady at the counter. She had zero warmth from the moment we walked up. No smile, no greeting, no eye contact. Yes, it was loud near the counter, but instead of making any effort to hear me out, she just kept repeating "sorry" without actually trying to understand what I was ordering. She showed no interest in helping, offered zero suggestions, and wore a cold poker face throughout the entire interaction. It felt like we were bothering her just by being there. It took her a full five minutes to hand over a simple receipt, with no explanation or apology. Here's the truth about hospitality -- it doesn't matter how good the food is. When you walk into a café and the person at the front gives you a cold, unwelcoming experience, that first impression poisons everything. The food could be amazing, but you won't remember it that way. The people representing a business are the face of it, and when that face tells you that you're not valued, it sends one clear message -- it's not worth coming back. That's exactly how we left feeling. And then the tip screen gets shoved in your face before you've even sat down. Bold move for zero hospitality. Nice space, some decent food -- but service makes or breaks a place, and this one broke it.
3.5 stars. Solid but not life changing. For a small town, it was very busy. Small inside but the staff is well-trained to keep it moving. Small waiting area. Some seating inside and outside. Had a cinnamon brioche which was flaky, messy, dry but with a hint of cinnamon sugar. Cappuccino is small as its standard size. Overall, good to try once but I probably won't be back unless with others who want to try.
We had Lattes here two mornings in a row. I had their Pistachio Latte and a Vanilla Latte. We also had their Egg Sandwich on Croissant. Everything we had was excellent. The place itself is incredibly inviting and impeccably designed. Service was fast and efficient. We were so enamored with Persephone that we brought home two mugs to remember our visits!
This is a very cute bakery and coffee shop. We got there late morning so they didn't have as many pastries as they probably did earlier. My husband and I shared a chocolate croissant and an apple pastry, and got coffee to go with us (mocha and breve). The pastry dough tasted devine-buttery sweet. I cut each pastry in half and was a little dismayed to see so little chocolate in the chocolate croissant (see my photo). We liked the apple one better. So good! The mocha had a weird taste (almost like Mexican vanilla but I'm not sure what it actually was) and the breve was respectable but as I write this 2 days later it isn't memorable. We noticed some good-looking sandwiches people were eating for an early lunch. I'd love to try them sometime.
Stopped one morning because I was pretty sure their coffee would be good. I wasn't wrong. Be advised, there is not a ton of indoor seating but they do have a patio that is a great escape if the weather is just right. There is usually a line out the door, but I am glad I waited it out. The cute little concerted house is much better than any chain coffee you may be used to. The service is good and while my blueberry muffin did not hit the spot, the special I ordered which had egg, Jake and a sweet potato has sure did. This was delicious bowl of goodness and while I don't think it is on the website menu, I am glad I tried it. The muffin just wasn't a traditional moose and sweet treat. Maybe I got a dud. Overall, Persephone has a lot to choose from and great coffee so give it a whirl.
Amazing latte and incredibly cute vibes! Love the way this place is decorated! The only reason I'm taking off one star is because the ham and Swiss croissant had almost no ham at all, maybe one very thing slice which was disappointing. Would come back for the coffee or to try a different pastry though!
So much hype. Even at 7 am when the temperature was in the 40s, there was a line outside. And yes, we waited in it! Thankfully it moved quickly and we were able to not only order at the counter but also find a couple of seats soon after. We got the caramel apple croissant (looks more like a tart), an iced pumpkin spice latte, the smoked salmon bowl, and the ricotta omelette. Loved the salmon bowl - great flavors, portions, though expensive. The omelette was bland and it felt like the ingredients didn't go well together. The latte was tasty (couldn't taste the pumpkin though) and the croissant was good too. They kept the bakery quite chilly, so much so that the butter on my omelette solidified midway! I'd say this is a fine bakery to visit but I would be ok skipping it if there's a loooong line!

Came here for our last breakfast for Girls Weekend in Jackson. It's small, so if there is no seating be prepared to wait or sit outside. We got a ham and cheese croissant and a croque madam. I also got a cinnamon brioche (which was too good to share). Everything was super good and came out super quick. I got a white wolf hot tea and my friend got an Irish Coffee. Both of which, were super good. I would love to come here again and try a few other things. read more
Persephone is conveniently located in the heart of Jackson Hole. A very cute and quaint spot to stop by for breakfast or lunch. This spot is pretty popular so I would recommend ordering online ahead of time for pick up. I've heard and seen the lines go way out the door during lunch time. My friend has ordered several items including a baguette, some cheese bread, cookies, and turmeric latte here. The baguette is fantastic, but make sure you get it fresh because like most fresh baguettes, it can lose the perfect texture pretty quickly if you let it sit for too long. The cookies were his favorite--all the cookies were great! The tumeric latte was slightly disappointing...there honestly wasn't much flavor or spice to it, but it was still good. After a long 15-mile hike, I rewarded myself with a gluten-free chocolate chip cookie. They don't have a ton of gluten-free pastries, but they do have the double chocolate chip cookie with walnuts! Warning: It is super rich. The cookies are pretty big so I told myself I would only eat half and save the other half for after dinner so I wouldn't ruin my appetite, but...no self-control. So I finished the whole cookie. Like I mentioned, it was really rich and chocolatey. I would pair it a latte or milk. It was so good that you couldn't even tell it was gluten-free! The prices are definitely a little higher, but as is everything else in Jackson. There's a reason this spot is popular. Definitely worth giving it a try! read more
Cool local bakery in the heart of Jackson. Persephone is very nicely decorated and has a great outdoor porch seating area to enjoy a cup of coffee if the weather's nice. We stopped by for breakfast before heading out for a hike. The breakfast sandwich was on point! It was so good! This is my kind of breakfast spot. The group I was with on vacation is not as big of breakfast goers as I am. If I was on a solo trip I probably would've been here every day for breakfast eats! Definitely recommend a visit if you're in town. It was very busy during our visit. I'm sure that is typically the case, so place an order at the counter and grab a spot to relax if you see one open! read more

This place was excellent. We read a lot about this spot before our trip to Wyoming and it didn't disappoint. We ordered the Croissant Sandwich and Seeded Avocado Bowl - both were terrific. The croissant was buttery, flaky, and the eggs/aioli paired perfectly. The bowl was nutritious and filling. The pickled vegetables were wonderful and the avocado and salmon were my favorite. The service was excellent and helped us make great choices. Oh, the coffee was great too. We absolutely recommend this place! read more

Wonderful place for coffee and breakfast. Everything is really well done. Yesterday I had a croquet madame. Today I had a spinach and feta croissant. Breakfast sandwich (on a croissant) looked great. Even just the scrambled eggs and sausage looked amazing. With lovely sour dough toast and tomato jam. Espresso drink are very well done. Service is quick as well. Food might be done before your latte based on what folks are ordering. Opens at 7am. And there is already a line waiting for the door to open. A few seats inside. This place was not only cute but so delicious. Once you come in you order your food at the counter and they will bring it to your table. The patio was my favorite area, the fresh air and scenery did it for me! This was my first time here and I ordered the breakfast sandwich and the KOUIGN AMAN! The breakfast sandwich was good except the bacon was a little over cooked. But I'm sure that was a one time thing. The Kouign Aman was delicious! Very fresh and not too sweet. I washed it all off with their pineapple lemonade. I think it's homemade, either way it was so goooood! It's definitely a must in Jackson. I would absolutely come back read more
I am obsessed with this place! I come to Jackson for a trip almost every year and I eat here at least once a day, there is literally nothing on the menu that is not outstandingly delicious! So many vegetarian and vegan options, too! Also, make sure to grab their freshly made bread and some pastries to go, you won't regret! read more
Beautiful little breakfast joint right in downtown Jackson! They have both indoor and outdoor seating options. Tons of pastries and breakfast goodies to pick from, but I was really blown away by their breakfast sandwich. Absolutely delicious and clearly some unique options you won't find at a normal breakfast place. Staff was friendly and helpful, and I believe their reasonably priced given some of their high end and unique breakfast ingredients. read more

I don't understand how this place is not 5 stars across the board. Super friendly staff, quick service, ample seating in a garden area and the food is just exquisite. I love a good Lorraine Quiche and McDonalds McGriddles - but the quiche here and French toasts blew me away. Absolutely a must if you are in Jackson Hole! read more

Cute little storefront. Super busy, But quick!!! Located in downtown Jackson Hole, with street parking only which can be a challenge but the whole town is nice, clean and safe to walk through. They have outdoor seating and very limited indoor seating. Tons of bakery items to choose from (muffins, scones, crossiants), my husband enjoyed his blueberry muffin (which was large size, good value). I enjoyed the Quiche Lorraine which was a slice, very fresh and homemade. Used real bacon! The Mocha Coffee was ok, I'm used to Starbucks white mocha and this was more of a dark chocolate powder. They use plant based to-go utensils instead of plastic so A+ there :). Overall, it was worth the stop through, I really enjoyed the quiche! read more

Was in town visiting and heard great things about Persephone and I was not let down. The location looks like a quaint little house with a great outdoor seating area surrounded by large trees. The staff was also very friendly and helpful when ordering. I came in for breakfast but some of the lunch items looked so good I couldn't resist getting the best of both worlds. On the breakfast side I ordered a cinnamon brioche and a mocha. Both of which were great but the items that made it for me was my lunch and dessert. I got a Truffles prosciutto sandwich that was everything I would want in a sandwich from the fresh bread to the fresh ingredients. The combination of prosciutto, truffle, and spicy pepper was one I had not thought of and it works better than I could've ever imagined. For dessert I got a flourless double chocolate walnut cookie that I already know I will dream of for a while. I highly recommend anyone visiting Jackson hole stop by. I'm going to need to find something like this back home! read more

We came here for breakfast on the recommendation of our river guide. The place was mobbed and I can see why. Everything was fantastic. We had between us the cinnamon brioche, carrot bread, chocolate hazelnut banana bread, fruit and yogurt bowls, avocado and salmon bowl, lemon ricotta French toast, chai latte, hot chocolate and tea and it was all luscious. After a long journey, I was famished in the late afternoon. I had researched Persephone as a bakery before arriving in Jackson, but didn't know they have such an extensive menu. Food is as carefully crafted as the pastries. I ordered the herbed omelette at the counter, and purchased a pear frangipane tart for dessert. The fresh herbs and goat cheese omelette has a variety of sides: asparagus, radish, fingerling potatoes, dijon cream sauce and house seeded levain toast. The combination is delicious. The tart is perfectly made, with tasty almond frangipane inside. On another visit, I tried the excellent croissant. I purchased their great graham cracker cookies at my hotel. One can find Persephone baked goods in some shops in town. I wish I'd had more time in Jackson to revisit Persephone. If I lived here, it would be a frequent stop. The delicious pastries and food, cozy interior and helpful baristas, plus a nice outdoor seating area explain its popularity. Visit when you're in town! read more

Came here multiple times during my visit to JH. Tried the breakfast crossaint with bacon and greens. Also tried the berry crossaint and ham and cheese crossaint. Picked up the brussel sprout salad for lunch to go before our flight back as well. Everything was delicious. Service was quick and my friends and I enjoyed everything we ate! If you Want to try their baked goods, definitely come early bc they will sell out of many of them by lunch time. read more

A cute cafe but very small. It can get crowed so you have to be lucky to get a good seat. Everything is handmade and they partner with other local farmers and ranchers. They have a seasonal menu for both their food and drinks. I got their almond croissant and citrus rosemary latte. Everything was delicious. They even have a little gift area (local candles, chocolate, treats, etc.) Since we were visiting from out of town, I found some small gifts I can easily bring back to my friends and family read more
Cute breakfast stop that is so unassuming in the town square. The line is always quite long on busy days in town! I had a very delicious s'more and Peppermint Mocha Latte. I thought it was delicious but definitely overpriced. This total was $12. There are other breakfast spots in town that are more aligned with fair prices. However you are indeed paying for the experience and aesthetic ambience of such a cute cafe! The s'more was quite delicious and has a surprise layer of Nutella in there ! read more

What kind of gluten free options?
They have a gf double chocolate cookie that is delicious. They have a rotating menu but I can always find a couple breakfast items that are gluten free and a few salads.
I've been calling here for two days to see if we can get outdoor seating but no one picks up. Any suggestions?
They do have a small deck that has outside seating.
