My sorority recently hosted an event in the patio bar area, and the space was absolutely beautiful. The ambiance, layout, and overall atmosphere created the perfect setting for fellowship and celebration. What truly sets this restaurant apart is its ownership and management team. Their commitment to providing exceptional service and partnering with the community is evident in every aspect of the experience. With that being said, the MLK Sea & Soul location is the Holy Grail of Carolina Kitchen's !! ( My first time eating here ) Their service is top notch and very engaging from the moment you walk through the door ( all smiles and ready to assist ) and when I say, the food is absolutely delicious... I mean from the presentation to the tenderness of the short tip beef ribs I was absolutely beside myself ( I actually did a 2 step after I ate the first rib and creole style rice ) Right now I'm planning my second visit to this particular location... but this time I want to dine in with the family, because the restaurant seating area seemed bubbly and full of life !! Plus I want to take my taste buds off land ( soul ) and venture into the Sea portion of the menu.

The service is friendly, the ambiance is like a hole in the wall. Yet, do not judge this place by its cover. The juicy seafood will knock your socks off! I ordered 2 seafood combo platters to go with: fried oysters, fried shrimp, fried fish, and double french fries. One platter for me, and one for my Dad. Our seafood was so delicious! Seasoned to perfection! Tarter sauce and cocktail sauce on hand! Man! It hit the soul! If I go into detail too much, I am going to be over here salivating. Check this spot out! It is a unique gem! Cheers!

Every time I would pass the place It always seemed to be empty of customers. Well I now know why it seems to be that way most folks call their order in before time. With good reason as Ernie prepares food on order only if you walk in, you'll have to sit a good little while before your food is given to you. The Young lady taking the order was very friendly and helpful with the menu choices. We opted for the fish sandwich. Mine was trout as well as my significant other. The fish was expertly fried and seasoned correctly probably in the top five of fried fish sandwiches I've eaten and no McDonald's fish sandwich is not in that group. The sandwich came with tomato sauce, hot sauce on the side, lettuce, tomato cheese, and onion they use sweet onions rather than the cheaper white onion. My only complaint would be that they used a hamburger bun. My partner did not like the bread at all, putting it on a hamburger bun for whatever reason, although I can guess was a bit hard to handle the sandwich. Other than that, I have no more complaints we waited, but it wasn't that long and that about covers everything 4 out of five

The wings were delicious. I tried the sweet and spicy sesame flavor. It leaned more sweet than spicy, but the flavor was so good. The salad was incredibly fresh. I'm usually not a fan of kale salads, but the blend was amazing, and the salmon was perfectly seasoned. The sliders were also a standout! Cooked medium well and absolutely perfect. The sweet potato fries had the perfect amount of crunch. We visited on a Monday night, so it was nice and quiet. Food was also served quickly . The restaurant itself has a really nice atmosphere, and parking is validated, which is a plus. Definitely will be back!

It was wasn't o packed or even busy as time of our dinner, but waiter was nowhere to be found half the time. Had to wait for probably 20 minutes after players were cleared for the tab. Bartender was walking around with Birkenstocks on, no socks. All things considered those are his toes that are going to be hurt should something happen but odd nonetheless. Another waiter was wearing AirPods while working/serving. Food was mid at best. I don't recall the last time I ate at a restaurant that proudly served a cheese sauce in their nachos in this year of 2026. I hope they turn it around so the neighborhood has a place to go to.

The name is deceptive. There are so many lunches and dinners to choose from here that are not…read moreseafood, in addition to the abundance of seafood. It's a fact: Mid-Atlantic Seafood can be easily overlooked for non-seafood options, ie where else in the area - or anywhere close ie New Carrolton, Landover Hills, Lanham, Seabrook, Glendale and Greenbelt - can you find at least 8 types of cake slices, 6 cheesecake flavors and 6 pies. I'll go over this later. Any entree that comes with sides will give you 30 choices. Which of the 30 sides will you choose?! With so many dining options to choose from, do yourself a favor: flip-thru all of the menu options at the tiny menu monitor to the left of the dessert case before deciding what to eat because out of the 9 gigantic, rotating monitor menus, I didn't as easily see half of what they actually offer. Just go to the small monitor and read about all of the appetizers, salads, entrees and deserts efficiently. Alternatively, visit https://mid-atlanticseafood.com/new-carrollton/ on your phone. Seriously: aside from all of the seafood on the large monitors, you can get turkey, homemade meatloaf, barbecue chicken and ribs. As for the 30 sides to choose from, some are macaroni and cheese, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes and French fries. We loved the mac-n-cheese. And the cheesy potatoes look overly rich but they are not. Really enjoyed those, too. These are classic potatoes au gratin with a bit of extra cheese and a lot of flavor. They also serve diverse varieties of other sides, including lo mein, white rice and cornbread. Not to mention the grilled vegetables, green beans, cheesy broccoli, corn and other options on the massive and never-ending steam table. On the 9 main video screens, you can get more than 7 kinds of fish and choose if you want it fried, baked or grilled. We wanted ours' baked. The waiter recommended to have it grilled because it would take less time and be more tender. We didn't listen to his advice, but he was right. Our baked fish was ok but we would love to come back and taste it grilled. The variety of fish offered is impressive, from ocean perch to salmon to tilapia to flounder to grouper to mahi mahi to whiting. You can also order crabs, snow crab legs and shrimp. Also want to try the stuffed shrimp here. When it says, "stuffed," that means with crabmeat. They have a garlic butter seafood boil here with crab legs, spiced shrimp, andouille chicken sausage, corn, etc. Meow. The chicken comes 4 ways: barbecued, fried or baked and as chicken wings. They have 3 types of pork chops: grilled, fried and smothered with gravy. Their entrees come with a choice of white bread, wheat bread, a potato roll or a slice of cornbread for an upcharge of $1.00. I didn't taste the cornbread on this visit but I'd like to, next time. One team member passionately said it was really good. We tried the mango slaw and it was good but not sweet. I heard the regular cole slaw is even better, so I would like to try that because I'm guessing it's as good as all the rest of their food we tried. I would also like to try the crab fried deviled eggs and the Cajun steamed mussels. Not to mention a lot of other dishes there! And now back to the cakes. They have so many desserts to choose from. I mean: multiple flavors of cakes, cheesecakes, pies, etc. They even have Smith Island cakes, which are a thinly-layered and stacked legendary Chesapeake Bay tradition. The current flavors are chocolate, red velvet and coconut at time of writing. We enjoyed our lemon short cake, the lemon berry marscapone cake and the mixed berry shortcake. Six different flavors of cheesecake, anyone? I'll next try the sweet potato and cinnamon cheesecake, please. They also have 6 kinds of pies including pecan, key lime and cookies and cream. The design of Mid-Atlantic Seafood is understated, clean and simple: counter service, a cold case of desserts and salads, a series of long steam table ms and a small eat-in dining area for maybe 20 people. The restrooms: clean and regularly checked. The staff are all helpful and busy. Good people serving good food! Do consider this a cafeteria, specializing in seafood with an out-of-this-world bakery.

From the time we walked in, my friend and I had a feeling it was going to be a no-go but still gave them a shot. Two people were waiting for their food as the TV was blasting the news, so as we waited at the counter to be helped, no 1 came. We see the cook who also sees us and still no one was called up. About 5 mins later, a guy takes our order for 3 whole wings & rice and 6 party wings w/fries and dessert. With no choice but to watch the news and miss some of the game, our food was ready about 15 mins later. I wish we opened it right there because to my surprise, huge feathers were still on the whole wings. Yes, they can be pulled off but I was grossed out to see this. Then my friends party wings were undercooked. They had to be put back in the oven and the fries were just blah. The cumin rice was decent and the strawberry cake cheesecake looked better then it tasted. My friend later had the bean pie and said it was just ok. We won't be returning and it's unfortunate because this place could be packed with their vast menu, better customer service and more appealing tv options to watch while waiting [like football on a Sunday].
