We came to Pescada for happy hour and were blown away. The service was warm, attentive, and genuinely outstanding--Chris did an amazing job and made the experience even better. Every dish we tried was excellent: the oysters were fresh and briny, the calamari perfectly cooked, and both the lobster bisque and Moroccan carrot soup were rich and full of flavor. We topped it all off with the seafood paella, which was absolutely phenomenal. The cocktails were just as impressive as the food. Oswaldo provided great customer service at the bar. Cocktails with a bite were fun and tasty. Beets & burrata was refreshing and had some crunchy components which paired very well with the dish. Bacon wrapped dates are always a fan favorite. The halibut was buttery, flaky and mild. Really enjoyed the Parmesan farro and the asparagus was charred to perfection. A group of us went for dinner last night and very much enjoyed the restaurant week menu. The Seafood Crudo as a starter was fabulous and enjoyed by all. We all had either the Seabass or the seafood pasta as the entrée and also were very good. For dessert, there was a change from the originally printed menu and I had the wonderful lemon sorbet/vodka/prosecco drink... so good! I did note that except for the Seabass most of these items are not on the regular menu. This was my first time at this restaurant last week and I absolutely will be back, it was a little windy outside, but we tried to sit on the patio anyway, and we were out there for a bit until we ordered our entrées and then we decided we wanted to go inside and our server and the staff were so accommodating and nice even though it was a little difficult! The food also was incredible. All of us loved all of our dishes that we had carrot, bruschetta, basil, clam spaghetti, mahi-mahi, special, fish tacos everything was excellent and fresh.! We are regular customers at Pescada and thoroughly enjoy our experience every time. From the food to the atmosphere and especially the staff. From the General Manager Jarret to our favorite bar tenders Cole and Jordan to all of the staff, the experience it outstanding. Chef Joshua is great and we love both his specials as well as the regular items on the menu. We were regulars before they renovated the restaurant but now love it even more with the newer Oyster bar and expanded dining area. My daughter and her BF intended to treat us for Happy Hour, as she was craving mussels. Me and GF were craving the Gambas al Ajillo... although neither dish was to grace our table due to Arizona Restaurant Week menu taking priority. We debated ditching for another option, yet stayed. The drinks were hand crafted and flavorful (and beautiful) although slow to make it to the table. Food around the table varied as minds were preset on the Gambas. The seafood paella was a worthy substitute. The kiddo had a Seafood Stew and her man had Branzino, both from the Restaurant Week menu. Lindsee was a true professional and cheerful as our server. She was a key reason for us staying on. While the dining room and patio were busy, it was not a slam crowd, so questioning why slower in drink/food delivery, hence the 1-Star deduct. I am just blown away! What a beautiful spot! The decor is amazing and so is the area around Pescada. We had amazing, attentive, and super friendly service by Rachel when my gym partner and I came for restaurant week (night of Sept 24). Pescada has an amazing selection of food and drink. There are tons of cocktails I would be glad to come back and try, but my gym partner and I had our respective glasses of red and white wine which were delightful. We started with the "Crisp Artichokes and Lemon" and "Papas Bravas & Salmon". WOW! The artichoke appetizer was a flavor explosion, and the papas bravas had this amazing texture and taste that is indescribable. For entrees, we got the "Sugar Pie Pumpkin Risotto" and the "Lobster Mezzaluna". Both of these dishes blew us away. We were so full at this point but it was hard to stop eating - everything looked and tasted just amazing. The desserts, "Roja Creme Brulee" and the "Lemon Almond Cake" were a great end to the night. Wow! I have nothing bad to say about our visit to Pescada. We are just sad we don't have one back home. They provided great service. We sat on the outside patio, which was beautiful. The food was amazing: fresh and delicious! We had the oysters (which were so fresh!), mussels (these were okay), focaccia (yum), basil spaghetti and clams (tasty, but would rec another dish), paella (husband loved this), and sea bass (which was the best sea bass I've ever ordered; slight crisp on the outside and tender buttery like in the middle- like whoa). Don't go to Happy Hour at Pescada. They now reserve the entire bar for the people they want to sit there. If you are not part of the Jordan favored you are not allowed to be seen at the bar. We really liked this place but they don't want everyone in their restaurant. The last time we sat at the bar, Jordan chose to ignore us, until he had to wait on us. I saw a blurb about Pescato online and decided to try it with some friends. The place was beautiful, the service was exemplary and the food unique and delicious. I went in thinking that I would get the paella, but I just didn't have the appetite so I ordered the Portuguese soup. This was flavorful, full of umami and satisfying. Pescada is a beautiful restaurant that looked to have a ton of potential but fell short in multiple areas. Upon walking in the hostess greeted us with a smile, was very nice and let us pick our table. Our server came over promptly and was courteous, personable, and told us about the menu and the region of food they serve. The surroundings were well thought out and the restaurant was visually well done. The music choice on the other hand didn't match the interior vibe. They were playing pop cover music, think Brittney Spears but not sung by Brittney, that seemed more fitting for a kids trampoline park than a nice restaurant. We started off with a half a dozen blue point oysters that were decent, not great. We've eaten oysters all over the country and these fell flat comparatively. After our appetizer we ordered our mains, Halibut for my wife, a Caesar salad, and the Blue Crab pasta for me. The Caesar salad was delicious, the dressing was one of the better ones I've had. My only fault here is they bring you a head of romaine on a plate, not cut up. The head is large and when trying to cut it on the plate with a butter knife, it goes everywhere. The fantastic dressing is already drizzled on the head of romaine so it gets a little messy. I'd order it again and just ask them to cut it up. The blue crab pasta is also very good, it needed a little bit of salt and pepper, but once added, it too was delicious. This is where things went south. This is a fish restaurant which was touted by the server for its fish dishes flown in daily. The halibut comes out and was overcooked and very dry so my wife sent it back to get remade. We hate sending stuff back because that means we don't get to eat together, but if you're paying $51 for Halibut and it's not right, what do you do? They took the whole dish back and tried again and by the time the new dish came out, I was almost finished with my meal. The second attempt was under cooked and still fridge cold in the middle. We asked to send the manager over so we could talk to him and he came over promptly. We showed him the raw fish and he started saying that he understood our first fish was over cooked and that this time they wanted to make sure it wasn't. He acted like he couldn't understand our issue so I had to explain to him that we wanted the fish cooked properly so that it is flaky, tender, and moist not dry or raw. He asked if he could remake it a third time or get us something different so my wife asked to see a menu. My wife and I understand that Halibut is a lean fish and can be difficult to cook properly. She was really looking forward to the Halibut and was the reason why we came to this restaurant in the first place. We passed on letting them try a third time and told our server, who was very understanding and apologetic, that we would take our bill. We left the restaurant and went to SumoMaya for their Miso Seabass which I can't recommend enough. read more

A couple of my friends had recommended this place so I thought I would give it a whirl. I sat at the bar and the bartender was phenomenal! His name was Jordan and he needs to get a raise because he did an outstanding job. The vibe here is really nice! However, the food was just OK. I ordered the Chilean Seabass and it lacked flavor to me. It really needed some salt and pepper and maybe some type of a sauce. I wasn't the only one who said the food was somewhat bland. The couple sitting next to me, Me ordered the crab toast and they had to ask for salt and pepper. They also ordered the salmon and they said that both dishes were really bland. We both concluded that maybe they don't use a lot of salt because they might cater to an older clientele. Older people tend not to like salt as much and spice as much. My drinks were really awesome though. I had a Cosmo and I also had a spicy margarita with Tajin. Again, both of my drinks were amazing, but my fish was lackluster. For the love of everything that's holy please season your food with salt and pepper! And adding some sort of sauce to the fish would be a good touch too. read more

There isn't a bad table anywhere but sitting at the bar is a real treat! Jordan is a master at his craft and watching him pour drinks is a real show. Pescada is a solid choice if you're looking for a nice atmosphere are a business dinner. Our group split multiple appetizers, all of which were fun and unique. If you're a fan of deviled eggs, the Smoked Trout Stuffed Eggs are a fun twist, and the Croquetas de Bacalao taste like they came straight from Spain. My main dish, the lobster pasta, was slightly overpriced for the quantity, but the watermelon gazpacho made up for it - perfectly tangy and served like we've experienced before at Michelin-starred restaurants. The reason why this place is getting 5 stars, though, is our waiter (and bartender) T. I asked whether he could make any of the listed cocktails non-alcoholic, and his answer was "I can make anything, what flavors do you like?" I proceeded to have the two best mocktails I've had in my life. He made a spectacular gin&tonic alternative, and when I mentioned that I'm usually an Old Fashioned drinker but I haven't found anything mimicking a bourbon drink yet, he whipped out an absolutely killer alternative to an Old Fashioned. I haven't had anything like it. It looked absolutely identical to the other Old Fashioneds at the table and similarly was a slow sipper, but with herbal base instead of the typical alcohol. I've been wanting to try this restaurant for a while, so we finally made a reservation to celebrate my birthday. The ambience was lovely, with a Mediterranean vibe that we really enjoyed. We began our meal by sharing the Grilled Oysters and Autumn Salad. Unfortunately, the oysters were underwhelming--they were extremely small. However, the salad was light and refreshing. For our entrées, I ordered the Chilean Sea Bass, and my boyfriend had the Local Prime Ribeye. My sea bass was absolutely perfect--fresh, moist, and cooked to perfection. For dessert, we opted for the Butter Cake and the Lemon Ricotta Cake. Both were a big disappointment. The butter cake was dry and overbaked, though the ice cream helped make it somewhat edible. The lemon ricotta cake was also dry. At $18 and $15 respectively, these desserts were overpriced for how little they were and underwhelming. When I think of butter cake, I think of places like Eddie V's, Dominick's, or Maestro's. It was also a letdown that they didn't even comp one of the desserts for my birthday celebration. Would we return? Probably, but only for the entrées. The entire meal, including two drinks, cost over $200. For that price, I expect a "wow" experience, and unfortunately, this restaurant didn't quite deliver. read more

Sadly, when I went back, the soft shell crab BLT wasn't nearly as good. The thing was way too drenched in jam and sauce. The bun where the jam was overly applied was almost mushy. If you want to sit on Pescada's lovely outside patio, be sure that you specify NOT to be seated on their NORTH patio as it pretty much feels like you're sitting on the street with no ambiance at all. There is not a choice when you make a reservation online and I was not aware they had 2 patios. I couldn't have been more disappointed with our seating and the way the manager did not handle it respectfully. He never even came back to check on us. While food and service are good, restaurant management is awful. Having experience in the restaurant industry, I believe this is pure greed and lack of consideration for the customer experience. We enjoyed a sampling of delicious appetizers baked oysters, grilled oysters, a whipped beet and goat cheese salad, and bacon wrapped dates. Then the main dishes to share of lamb chops on a bed of sweet potatoes and broccolini, grilled octopus atop creamy and seasoned black emperor rice. The rice was plentiful to share and the memory of the flavor at the end was perfect spice note. The dessert star was this lemon sorbet atop a denser cake?
