I had mentioned to Darla to skip service because of this, and will resume when ready. But just noticed that I have been continued to be auto charged ($87 each time) good thing I looked as I was getting ripped off. Very surprised of this as I'd mentioned this for multiple months to get ahead of this situation and give HomeShield as much communication as possible. It is crappy feeling to have my money taken like that I called in and spoke with Luca and he was helpful in telling me that I'll get credited back for 2 months, and will have CC on hold so not charged. That made me feel good. He said I'd get confirmation email in a few minutes but it's been nearly 2 hours and no email and my CC still showing no credit/refund. They are happy to auto charge me, but cannot accommodate their current customers with the ability to pause service, causing additional headache for me I'll see if there is anything worth updating if/when it happens. otherwise will go straight to credit card company and dispute charges...I don't have time to keep going back to HomeShield to check if they did their work right Still considering if I will continue with HomeShield once I need service again; but I figure I'll have better choice when that time comes UPDATE: after reading other review of not being able to cancel service, I called right back and spoke with Patricia. I asked to cancel service, but she could not do so and had to transfer me to other department and ask me to hold for "2 minutes". After 2 minutes, she came back on saying no one could talk to me to cancel. Seriously?? I asked if I can get her my verbal authorization to relay my cancel message to someone. No can do, so I have to wait for someone to call me back so I can say "CANCEL" really frustrated now...

During the construction phase of our ADU, we experienced a major increase in rodent activity due to debris and materials sitting around for months. Unfortunately, it turned into a full infestation. I called American Pest Control because I was out of town and had a friend housesitting, meanwhile a…read morewasp colony decided to emerge. Unfortunately my dog is highly allergic to wasps, and I wasn't going to ask the person house/dog sitting to go and exterminate for us so I called American Pest Control. They were very quick to have an appointment, it was next day, with a reasonable time frame. House sitter said they showed up, found the wasp nest and destroyed the wasps. However I'm a little concerned and feeling swindled by the terms of "wasp removal". I used the phrase "wasp removal" several times over the phone, as did the person answering my questions. At no point was "extermination only" or anything similar used. Apparently when speaking about wasp removal, to American Pest Control, it's synonymous with "extermination", as no wasps or nests were removed. Basically, I paid $150 for someone to show up with a can of Raid, and spray the wasps. The housesitter ended up removing the nest and "about 28" wasps that were left on the ground. I'm glad nobody ended up walking outside barefoot. I could have saved $150 and had her do that herself. Oh well. At least the wasps weren't around long enough to continue multiplying. The last time they came, they sprayed the outside of the home only. Of course I was upset. When I told them about it, they said they would only charge me half of the fee. We used to have the same tech service our home who was very thorough, effective and had pride in his work. Now we have random techs show up who aren't even knocking down the visible webs. We had a web on the corner of our front door and they left it there. If they don't bother with the most obvious cobwebs, they aren't effectively spraying or managing our property. They've had to return to repeat spray numerous times. They sent a manager out in Nov who did a really thorough job and said he would pass on his notes to the next tech who comes out, but it doesn't seem like that happened.
