I was in the area and decided to stop by. This place has higher end things. They don't have everything but the staff here is very helpful. We got a couple things it is pricey but they are on the healthier side. My cats loved their treats.

Pet Food Express Here's something that I must profess Shopping here don't make me stress Jaime, on the under hand I do confess A rescue dog who's been under duress We take him here to get his boosters Shots, I mean...no pain or torture Get him vaccinated just like some fighting roosters They have mobile vets, just like a scooter Just make an appointment on your smart phone or computer Scan the QR code and wait for the needle shooter Located on Fitzgerald Dr. along the same strip mall as Ace Hardware, Grocery Outlet, Target and In-N-Out that you can see along the I-80 corridor, it's easy to get into with plenty of parking spaces. They even have a poo bag disposal and trash receptacle in front. It always comes in handy since the dogs like to handle their business by the grassy area on the side of the store. And just like other locations, they have 6 pet-washing area complete with a drying station. For $18.00, they give you a token and provide you with towels, shampoo, apron and a drying station. They also have a buy 3 and get the 4th wash free, which equals to $13.50 per wash. You know how messy it could get giving your pet a bat at home, so this is very convenient, hassle-free and no need to clean up after. And the main reason we've been coming here is for the Vet Clinics. Their schedule on this particular location is every Saturday from 1430 - 1730 hours. Here's a tip, get the QR code and scan in at 1400 hours, log-in and it's first-come first-served. This will save you some waiting time. Again, it's very convenient, and the Vets are always very friendly, helpful and professional. They ask the dogs' temperament and they handle each individual dogs accordingly. This is greatly appreciated since Jaime is a rescue dog and is still very skittish due to his traumatic upbringing. This particular store is also very clean, organized and efficiently run. They offer good pet food that are healthy and organic. And every time we pay a visit, Jaime is getting a treat or two for being patient and brave, even though he'll shake and tremble like a leaf. But the staff here treat all the dogs (and cats) all the same - accommodating, empathetic and caring.

We came here looking for a cone for our fur baby as Petsmart didn't have it in stock in his size. We were immediately greeted by a staff as soon as we stepped in. She helped us find exactly what we were looking for and even gave us some money-saving options. The place was small yet well-stocked. I think we've found a new place for our fur baby's needs.

I hate getting baths, but there is a lot of fun stuff here!

Morgan, Abraham, and supervisor Tawny were great with my parents' new German Shepherd/Lab mix, who had just been adopted from the pound and was in need of care and new supplies. They were able to manage her, even as she was overstimulated and undisciplined, and gave us pointers on how to manage her. Bathtime got unlimited towels. Prices are reasonable, and staff is so friendly and helpful. A little lacking for those whose pets are not a dog, cat, or rabbit, but otherwise very good.

    The blanket wasn't bought there.

I realized how stressed I felt taking them to a vet boarding place, where my fur babies sit in a jail cell mostly isolated from people and fun. Bonnie interviewed my dogs and assessed whether they were a good fit and could get along with other dogs. She and Mike had no problem with my anxious and chatty hound/shepherd mix or grounded and stubborn carian terrier. They jumped right in the mix and had SO much fun! Bonnie made sure to send me pictures of them at rest and play, while we were away, which helped us relax and have fun, too. They have a great yard with fenced in areas, which allow for separation if needed. I think most of the time the poochies run and play, and then crash at night from a long day of fun. They really know dogs, and I was impressed at their compassion and humor while also keeping a watchful eye on how the dogs interacted with each other. Bonnie and Mike feel like a part of the family now. We'll see them next time we have to leave town without our dogs.

Firstly, overall I think that all vets and vet techs are amazing humans for caring so much about animals. I understand that vets deal with a lot of volume and urgency and frantic people - so I'm trying to be as understanding as possible, but we didn't have a great experience. Here goes: A semi-feral cat we feed showed up after disappearing for several weeks. His eye was bloody and gouged. We brought him to El Sobrante Vet for the eye injury and general exam. Before the visit, we clearly warned that he was a semi-feral community cat, unneutered, frightened and should not be released from his carrier without being prepared. Despite this, the carrier was opened. The cat panicked, scaled the walls, knocked items over, jumped onto my back. We were moved to another room, where the same approach was repeated, with similar results. They were unable to weigh him or complete an exam. The vet gave him an antibiotic shot, prescribed two types of antibiotic eye drops, gapabentin and advised that if we couldn't administer them six times a day, the eye would likely need removal - though there was a chance of saving it if we could manage the drops. We took him home, placed him in a recovery enclosure, and despite the initial protest, I was able to administer the drops successfully 6x/day. (By the third day, he tolerated the process and I could even hold his face while doing the drops.) Getting a refill of the drops was difficult. I know clinics are overwhelmed, but time was critical if we were going to even have a chance to save the eye. I did have to skip a day of drops because we couldn't get them in time (I requested them 3 days before they ran out) My husband ended up going in person to get the drops because the prescription was slow to get filled. Admin backup - I totally get it. Luckily, they did have them on hand, and they were really nice about it. Getting his record also took several days. As the eye continued to worsen, we scheduled surgery at another clinic to get him in sooner (than at a community clinic). During this time, Animal Control arrived at our home without any prior communication from the vet's office. We only learned from the AC guy that the vet had been bitten during the initial visit- something never disclosed to us. When we'd asked if she was okay immediately after the fiasco, I distinctly recall that she brushed it off and said she was fine. This experience was very traumatic to me. Initially I just saw a man in a black padded vest and thought it could be ICE. (I'm a US born citizen but I'm not white) And then I thought did they send us home with a cat they thought had rabies? All of this could have been fine and understood if it had just been communicated by the vet's office. The cat was placed on rabies quarantine, forcing us to delay his surgery. Animal Control assessed him quickly and agreed he did not appear rabid, but quarantine was still required legally. He had to come back and check again and sign off that the cat did not have rabies after quarantine. I think that proper handling protocols and better communication could have mitigated how this situation all went down. This experience was traumatic for everyone. The anxiety this vet experience caused me was off the rails. Again, I don't fault El Sobrante Vet for being busy, and I do think they care about animals. I also think they're nice people. But they didn't handle this cat well and most of all their communication with us was very poor. If you have a fearful cat, this isn't the best vet office for you. Needless to say, we're not going back there even for our more docile house cats. And if you're curious - Cookie the semi-feral is healing up well after his eye removal (done and neutered at a different clinic), is pettable, calm, purring and we are thinking about adopting him instead of releasing him back into the community.

We all had different ways of how to train him and it was causing a rift in the family. I was turned down by some trainers until I came across Jonathan Wong's page. He was local, he was fast to get back to me and he was willing to give us a chance after everything I told him. Kody still has a long way to go and I will continue with Jonathan as his trainer, but it is night and day after three months of training with Jonathan. He was dog and people aggressive, to the point we had to avoid them entirely. We can now go for walks, albeit we move opposite of any dog and can keep walking without any barking or pulling. He was always actively pulling on the leash and bad at recall. He is loose leashed now and responds with recall with our daughter. In the end I had to get use to the idea that Kody was a crate or muzzle dog when it came to large crowds or people in our home.
