I read some of the other reviews and my rating is based on the experience I had when I went into the store and I only ventured to the side of dog items, toys, treats etc. I was very curious about the store and had passed it multiple times so I finally decided to check it out. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by the employees. It was nice and they told me to let them know if I had any questions. One of the employees, a gentleman with red hair was very nice and helpful when I had a question. The overall service was great from my experience. I also thought their prices were good. I loved the variety of items they had. We usually have to buy our dog items from at least 3 different stores but with this business, I can get most of them items I want and more from one place. That's extremely convienent for me. I also found out that they have other locations. They had the cutest little bakery section with little cupcakes, creme brulee dessert, cookies etc. for a fairly low price each. You pick what you want and put them in a little goodie bag. They also had buy one get one free on the halloween treats which was really cool. I'd definitely go again just from that one experience. read more

Pet Supermarket is a retail chain store based out of Sunrise, FL. They have about 165 in the south east with about 43 in Florida. It was one of the few bigger companies out there with a long time female CEO- Diane Holtz- who has since retired. A couple of years ago they sold to Atlanta based private equity group Roark Capital. This store is located right off of highway 92 and Trickum across the street from the Wal-Mart Super Center. Nearby businesses includes Publix, Rite-Aid, Wendy's Krogers, McDonald's and Starbucks. I've been to this store only a couple of times since they've opened and every time I do I always wonder why I don't come back more often. I always receive top notch customer service here. Both times I came in looking for a particular flavor of cat food that Wal-Mart was out of and both times I found it. Both times I was offered assistance. In fact when I went in today I was getting ready to walk out empty handed because I didn't see the item that I was looking for on the shelf. Luckily a sales associate spotted me and offered to do a double check for the item because he said "since I came all this way"...well it turned out the item I was looking for was sitting right in front center of the shelf. bought my bearded dragon here and so far he seems very happy and healthy. he is eating right and is very active. the customer service was good, as soon as i got there they asked what they could help with and the lady who helped me was very nice, however the beta fish were very poorly taken care of, they were in little cups and honestly they looked half dead :( otherwise, very positive experience and my beardie is looking very healthy :) read more

After years of driving by this business, I finally stopped to get advice on fish for my koi pond. Accessibility is not bad and parking is ample. The store is well lit on the interior. Positives end there. I could get NO assistance. I asked three employees for assistance with algae eaters and got blank stares. The closest to anything resembling assistance was the gentleman (using this term as a polite substitute) pointing in the direction of the aquariums and mumbling something incoherently. After ten minutes, I left. We all have bad days. A bad day at work will cost you business. Food for thought. read more

My complaint is on the care of the betta fish. I have never once seen them in good condition. Some are as high as 38.00. You would think they would at least TRY and display them in at least one gallon tanks. A betta needs at least 3 to 5 gallon tank with heater and filter. They are left in these cups too long. They are dying of stress and ammonia poisoning. Shame on you. read more

Extremely unhappy. In December of last year I purchased a $50.00 gift card. My girlfriend waited awhile before using it. When she found the nerve to tell me months later.... the gift card had zero balance on it! I have been using this store for two years. I went to the manager on duty and explained what happened. Went in a few days ago as i needed a new leash for the Grand Dog. They had 6 aisles of dog and cat toys and your choice of 3 little flimsy leashes. Our dog is large and needs a REAL leash, not the little web ones like the vet uses. Ended up going to Walmart, where they had a great selection, found just what i wanted. read more

Came into the store today and asked the girl at the fishtank if they sold crickets here. She said yes and then turned around and went back to what she was doing. I had to ask again "how do we get them". Basically the customer service was careless and indifferent and I hate spending $ at places where people don't care. I won't go back and will gladly go to PetSmart even if it means more $ for my animals. Goodbye strange emo girl. read more

Don't buy fish here unless they are feeders. They only have a 3 day warranty on a freshwater fish that dies in 5 days. PetCo and petsmart have a 2 week policy. We didn't ask before we wasted our money on a fish assuming they had competitive policies. We will still buy feeders and litter here but no more pets. read more

Very poor customer service. We bought several items at the store on July 2nd and recently needed to exchange a raincoat which was the wrong size. Not only could we not get a credit for the raincoat but we could not even be allowed to make an exchange. We were told the computer will not allow it. We really liked the items available in the store but unfortunately we live about 30 minutes away and experience 2 deaths in the family which delayed getting the raincoat back. We learned our lesson, deal with Pet stores that our reasonable in customer service such as PetSmart!! read more

Small animals didn't have proper food or water. Guinea pigs had no hay. And birds were in glace cages with no where to perch. They were frazzled and chewing their tail feathers off. Store employees were very awkward and standoffish. No one seemed to know anything in depth about the animals they were selling besides the prices. Very sad. read more

I had an excellent experience at this store today. I went in to get flea treatment supplies for my cats. The staff was friendly and helpful, and easy to track down when I had a question. Not only did they price match a competitor's price for me (a decent sized match), the manager gave me some helpful tips to try to help get rid of fleas in the home, too. This store does sell some animals like ferrets, and it smelled so clean in there. The ferrets had nice looking coats and seemed happy. It's smaller than PetSmart, and that is exactly one of the reasons I wanted to stop in and try it. I just didn't want to add another mega store to my list of stops on errand day. Some of the employees here are nice and try to help you, and considering the actual corporate company I'm surprised. I needed my VIP receipts from a store that closed over on shallowford road and I was told "sorry we dont keep records for more than a year" as a business owner myself I know this to be untrue. I wont go back there ever again. Too many other pet stores nearby to go to that will bend over backwards to help you with out all the corp. BS! read more

Even though this store is small, they have things that I haven't found at any other pet store-better food (Taste of The Wild), much nicer beds (Midwest), training products, cool accessories and every kind of treat you can think of for puppies and adult dogs. Prices are really good. Our new puppy adores her massive Midwest bed that I scored for $50 here. Petsmart & Petco easily charge $80+ for similar beds. Pet Supermarket definitely has higher quality products all around. They always have sales and Jim, a mid-40s guy with long brown hair, is extremely helpful. He explained to me everything I needed to know before we got our puppy, what's best, what's a ripoff, what to look for, etc. Every Sunday, a mobile vet stops here to give vaccinations and check ups for much cheaper than going to a traditional vet office-they even microchip for $18! Definitely give this place a shot if you're tired of the big pet stores and want a higher quality selection at a better price! read more
