Asked my girlfriend to get a 50 watt red light and crickets for my leopard gecko. She's not familiar with these things so she asked the lady at the store for help. First she tells her they don't have red 50 watt lights which the 75 would have been fine but my girlfriend said it was 35$ so she clearly was trying to get her to buy an overpriced bulb for more money. Than for the crickets they don't offer free calcium like most pet stores and convinced her to buy calcium again another way to try and take advantage of her lack of knowledge. read more

The employees were kind to show me the personal dog washing station. I have a small dog and there was a station. perfect for washing. My issue is that I have a long haired dog and blow drying and brushing him is part of the grooming. The dryers do not have any controls other than on and off. The velocity of blowing was weak, and the temperature was cool. Needless to say, it took me so long to get him dry due to having an undercoat. Also have included a request about the delivery and they read it and did what I asked (you have no idea how many businesses ask if there is a request for the driver but then never read it or follow it.) Tried purchasing eight items. Three of them, once we got to the register, were priced incorrectly. Took 10 minutes to get the problem solved, and the problem solved only in the sense that "they were sorry they miss marked it. Also I know my dogs measurements exactly, purchased a Halloween outfit for the measurements listed and it was at least two sizes short and they won't return it. Pet Supplies Plus Naperville North has become my go-to store. Every time I bring my dogs in they are treated like rock stars! The staff members know my dogs by name as well as their preferences for food, treats and snacks. Carol, Alexa, Kelsey and Morgan always meet us at the door when we arrive, plus they make an effort to tell other staff members about my dogs. I've been coming to this store since July 2014 when my first dog came home; my second dog came home in October of 2015. I started out using grain-free kibble and snacks, and have since evolved to feeding my dogs raw food. It has been comforting to know that PSP has a wide range of products, and has been able to meet my dogs' needs every step of the way. I placed my first order today for packs of cat food and cat litter. This was fantastic. The store called me about one substitution and I was able to give them instructions on where to leave it at my house. They texted me when it was delivered with a photo of where they left it. Amazing. Went in today to get an aquarium set up for my daughter, she won some goldfish at Ribfest and my nightmare started! I know nothing about fish and was having a full panic attack that these little things that arrived in a plastic bag were going to be goners before we got home. My ecstatic 6 year old and I headed to Pet Supplies Plus on a mission to get them a new home. We arrived, found the fish aisle and were immediately overwhelmed with choices and not knowing what to get and what was needed. A sales kid named Jack offered help and assistance and was very friendly, he didn't make me feel like I needed to spend a fortune but also told me the best things for simple goldfish. This review is for the store on 720 Odgen next to Jet's pizza in north Naperville. We are longtime residents that live across Ogden in the Saybrook neighborhood. We bought a 25 gallon fish tank set and a bunch of associated accessories and fish about 6 months ago for our kids first pets, after about 5 months the tank started leaking all over my new hardwood floors. I called the store and told them the tank is leaking and the rude young girl said they don't accept returns after 30 days...no exceptions.....and best they could do would be to sell us some epoxy sealer and we could try to fix it ourselves. My wife then went there with the tank and tried to demand a refund and the manager was very rude and told her sorry...no refunds after 30 days.....and then had the nerve to offer to keep the tank so they could re-use it for their store animals !! So all in all...I wasted about 400 bucks on the whole fish tank set from that store and received absolutely horrible customer service. If you are buying anything but pet food or gold fish...i would look elsewhere. Just beware...after 30 days...you are stuck with whatever garbage they sold you. AVOID THIS PLACE !!!!!!!! read more

My experience at this store was wonderful and it was all thanks to one employee. Her name was Alexa and she was so wonderful. I will be returning to this location solely based on Alexa's kindness and knowledge. She greeted me as I entered the store and she literally helped me the whole time I shopped. I asked her to help me find the right cat cans and I cannot see very well so she read me all of the ingredients listed on the cans. She was such a sweetheart. I will be coming back to this store solely because of this wonderful young lady. This is one of my favorite Pet Supplies Plus and let me tell you why. Numero uno - This store is so organized, I have never once been upset, confused, or mislead by prices and where objects are located. Everything matches up perfectly and for that I am grateful. Numero dos- The store is CLEAN. So clean! I mean, we've all been to that pet store where you're more than welcome to bring dogs and animals into the store. Then we've all seen the aftermath of those stores. Paw prints, fur, etc all over the floor. This store is spotless, AND it has a dog washing center. So, I have to give this place props for that. Numero tres - The prices here are always reasonable. Of course, that's all Pet Supplies Plus locations, but I still have to mention it's pretty good. Last but not least, the staff are all relatively friendly. I took away one star because yes, the fish tanks don't always look inviting and yes, sometimes the staff that are working are less than friendly. There's always those elements in chain store staff. "Far from thrilled" -New pet store opens up in town= totally psyched! -Above new pet store opening up just a few doors down from my long time favorite pet store= not really cool. -After first visit realizing I probably won't go back here= my yelp review. Attempting to keep in mind that this store just opened a few weeks ago, WAIT- WHAT? Ummm, grand openings should be topnotch, and first impressions are the lasting ones. Here we go. The store has a great location on Ogden Ave with flashy neon lighting and had a giant balloon animal outside to promote their opening. But if you are coming westbound down Ogden Ave during rush hour- it's tough to get into the parking lot. The building is just a couple months old, so everything is shiny new- even smells new. I was greeted promptly upon entering (by a somewhat tired sounding employee) who asked me if I needed help finding anything. I told him I was just "checking out the new store and seeing what they had" and the employee just kinda shrugged the shoulders and said "OK." (Blah.) The prices were fair and competitive on certain items, overpriced on others, but the selection was just kinda middle of the road in my opinion. I will say that they had a pretty large selection of Sm and Med bird foods, accessories, and toys as well as bunny, ferret, and guinea pig supplies- which was a good selling point for me. I wound up buying a very large bag of cedar bedding for my critter for a pretty darn good price. Now, I know that the sign says "Pet Supplies Plus" so I already assumed that they were primarily just supplies. But, they did carry just a few caged animals for sale. A couple of tanks of fish, a couple turtles, and a few small birds (finches). Out of under 10 of them, one finch had escaped the cage and was flying around the store, with nobody trying to catch it- and yet another had a broken foot who was in a cage for sale. They did have a selection of goldfish, and a just a few tropical fish. The staff did seem nice, yet not terribly enthusiastic (smiles should be free guys!) But, although the store was not busy- and staff was kinda standing around, when I checked out with my (bulk) over-sized bag of bedding- and was apparently having trouble carrying it as it was almost the size of me (lol) nobody bothered to ask if I needed a hand. That would have been nice, as I dropped it twice on the way to my car and busted a hole in it and now my car is covered in cedar bedding. Well, the good news= my car now smells like fresh cedar chips. The bad news for Pet Supplies "Plus"= I didn't really see a whole lotta reason to become a regular customer. And I think I'll stay going to that "place down the street" where the staff is always smiling, animals never seem mangled, they are very apparently well taken care of, and someone still asks to give me a hand to my car- EVERY TIME! read more

He could have offered me a store credit or something. Instead he was rude and said no it's not from our store . This is not how you handle customers. I'm surprised that this place hasn't gotten alot of love from other Yelpers. After feeding my cat Iams, Purina One, Science Diet, and Hill's Prescription for years, I learned that cats aren't meant to eat carbs. That lesson cost me over $1500 in vet bills. I'm excited that they carry Wellness and Evo for my Atkins-lovin' cat. It looks like they carry alot of high quality/high end pet food in addition to your Fancy Feasts. I also like how they sometimes have coupons in the mail. Definitely helpful. Service has been good and the people are friendly.
