I am new to Alma Dental, today I had my first cleaning with Alyssa the hygienist. I am so glad I switched from soco dental in rp. Alyssa not only gave me the best and most thorough cleaning I have had in years, but also provided me with more info about the condition of my teeth than previous dentists Ive been to. She also helped me with some solid recommendations to adjust my routine and gave me a whole new perspective on the toothbrush I have been using and how to get the most out of my nanohydroxy toothpaste. I ended up buying the oral b electric brush with the round heads per her suggestion. I tried it tonite and I really like how it advises if Im brushing too hard and it also has a 2 min timer built in, pretty cool! Another thing I really appreciated is how she did not pressure me to use flouride products and even gifted me some nice natural coconut floss to try. Im so happy to have a reliable dentist office to get my regular cleanings again, of course I rebooked with Alyssa. I would for sure recommend this place to anyone looking for dental work. My boyfriend also had a 5 star experience here and he is really uncomfortable at the dentist usually so that is saying alot! read more

I went to Alma Dental because I was having significant pain in my lower right molar (#31). During my visit, x rays were taken and the tooth was tapped, but no hot or cold sensitivity test was performed, even though I reported cold sensitivity. I was referred to an endodontist and charged $210 for the exam and x rays. I chose to see a different endodontist because I was more comfortable with that provider based on their reviews. The endodontist immediately performed a cold test, which clearly showed that tooth was highly sensitive, and diagnosed a crack in the tooth. Based on what I later learned, it sounded like the crack should have been visible on the x rays that were taken. That left me questioning why it wasn't identified during my initial exam and why additional diagnostic testing wasn't done before I was referred. I called Alma Dental afterward hoping to have a respectful conversation and better understand what had happened. Instead, the person I spoke with became argumentative. I explained that I wasn't calling to argue. I simply wanted to discuss my concerns, but the conversation continued in that direction, so I ended the call. I do NOT recommend Dr. Serrano based on my experience. I paid for an exam and x rays, but the issue causing my pain was not identified, important diagnostic testing was not performed, and my concerns were not handled professionally when I called to discuss them. I left feeling that the evaluation did not provide the value I expected and that resolving my concerns was not a priority. read more

I found this dentist, in-experienced, unprofessional, and rude. When a problem came up with the plate work she was paid a large sum to provide, her approach was to blame me the patient for having a pain problem with the plate that continues. Instead of dealing with the issue which I tried at lest 5 visits to do with her, yesterday I realized she as a professional offering a service to the public, she was not going to own her responsibility to improve the situation. I will be changing dentist as of my last appointment yesterday. read more

I received an ugly crown and Dr. Lane refused to fix or replace it. Dr Lane had always done exquisite work on me until he started making his own crowns. He was very new to making crowns and didn't quite get to the edge with the enamel, so the black line was a bit thinker than normal. Then again...I don't understand why he used medal where it would show in the first place. I called and complained but he refused to change it. I became upset because I'd paid a fortune for a cosmetic dentist to give me a pretty smile, instead there's a black gumline. In fact the entire gum area there is dark. Th gum has grown up a bit, and covers the line better; it's not a 'bad' crown. It;s just not the beautiful thing I wanted. I could've gone to the dental college if I wanted a mediocre crown. I had been his patient for way over 10 years, I had referred patients to him; and, I was on a brutal type of medical treatment when I was so upset about the ugly crown. I didn't make a scene or cause anguish, I just had a verbal outburst and hung-up on the office person. Last week I called Dr. Lane's to ask if he could look at a problem I'm having with a bridge he installed. I told the gal that I am healthy, clean and sober and working, and that I've let go of the crown anger. I her I really needed help because I'm in severe pain. She left a message a few days later saying I wasn't a good fit for his office. No referral, so suggestions about what I could do. I want Dr. Lane to have the ability to decide who he treats, but nothing happened so badly between us that I should be completely disregarded either. 10 years ago, I would have highly recommended Dr. Lane. Now I'd say, he usually does great work, but when he makes a mistake, he won't honor the 'cosmetic' aspect of it. read more

I recently became a patient of Dr. Serrano's at Alma Dental Care ~ as my dentist retired. I feel so fortunate and blessed that I'm in such caring and capable hands! Dr. Serrano has a beautiful chair side manner ~ she puts you at ease and is extremely kind, patient, sweet and she doesn't even hurt! The staff is awesome... They are very knowledgeable, helpful, friendly, warm and supportive. I had to have crown work done on my last visit...I was blown away as they just got this very cool crown maker! I was a queen in no time ~ LOL. They scan your tooth that needs the work and the surrounding ones....they capture the image and send it to La Machine and it creates the tooth! Dr. Serrano makes sure it fits nicely and takes it back to La Machine and bakes it. One visit and you are royalty. read more

I couldn't be more pleased with everything about Dr. Lane's dental office. Everyone who works there is so pleasant and accommodating. Dr. Lane himself is extremely patient, thorough, and does not rush you into making any decisions before you are completely ready. He explains everything with great detail, and makes sure you thoroughly understand every aspect of the procedure before he begins anything. i've been to many dentists in the past 50+ years, and have definitely had my share of not so professional work done on my teeth. The procedure I chose to have performed at Dr. Lane's office was the largest financial commitment I have ever made re: my teeth, so I wanted to make sure I was making the best decision possible. My family has been going to Rick Lane for many years and he has always given us great service. I had been going to another local dentist that did not give care on the level expected and the office staff was rude. I knew Rick socially but was hesitant to go to him at first. What if someone you know and like as a person turns out to be a stinky dentist, right? Well I decided to try him out and I have no regrets and no intention to switch dentists again. He has saved me from losing a couple of teeth and from a lot of pain. I have had to call for help with a painful tooth when they are closed and he has always been able to take care of me. I have always been nervous about going to the dentist, so much so that I put it off for many years. I finally made an appointment with Dr. Lane and everyone in the office made me feel comfortable from the very start. I needed to have some fillings replaced and I had no idea what I was in for. They don't use the typical bright lights that swoop down over your face, Dr. Lane has a light on his glasses, so I wasn't blinded the whole time. And to make me more comfortable while the work was being done, I was given earphones and these amazing glasses to watch my selection of a Jimi Hendrix rockumentary - the glasses were like a mini movie theater and I was totally distracted from what was really going on in my mouth. We have been going to Rick since he took over the business from Dr. A. He is down to earth, and somewhat conservative in his dental work and repairs. He gives you all options from extravagant to on the cheap. Gives you all the pros and cons, and lets you decide what you want to do. I have been going to Dr Lane for a few years now. I needed a lot of work when I first went, crowns, etc and Dr Lane fixed me up and gave me a beautiful smile. Now I go every 6 months for a cleaning and Diane is so great I actually look forward to it. Dr Lane is always so caring and happy to see you. He is a very gentle dentist.
