Back around July 12, 2025 This is for the grooming. I took my dog there at least twice before and everything was great. My baby looked perfect and no problems.. Got her groomed by INGRID that day and she came back this time and they were saying how supposedly she had a yeast infection on her neck.. I took a nap and woke up to my dog with a bloody neck... she had scratched the crap out of it.. I panicked so bad was calling all the vets but only emergency places were open and far. So o waited and took the next day off to take her to my local vet.. they said no yeast infection at all but was probably caused my dirty scissors or something... spent a couple hundred for the exam and meds.. not even a few days later she couldn't walk.... Would get up and fall because her right back leg was dislocated or something... she's too young to had hip problems and she was literally totally fine before... I'm pretty sure they yanked the shit out of it and messed it up because she's stubborn at times.. I called and spoke to the manager think her name is Samantha or something and told her the situation to at least get my money back... she said she needed to talk with corporate or something... never got that call... called several times after but the disgusting staff says she's not working that day and she'll call me back... She never ever called back nor the vet she said she was going to for record.. Fast forward- my baby is on and off with that leg.. today she can barely walk again but still tries... I just don't know anymore but it hurts me so bad when she does get like this.. I know for a fact they did something because I let my friend groom her a couple months ago and she came out absolutely gorgeous and fine... I need to know if I should sue that employee Ingrid for animal cruelty or what... but DO NOT take your dog here ever! They could care less about your dog or you.. 6-15-2026 I demanded camera footage because I got her groomed again and my groomer said this is definitely something petco did.. they probably torn her acl. He done plenty of dogs with hip problems and this is definitely not one. She will only snap when you touch the one leg and not the hips... read more

Went to Petco in Carrollton TX today to buy a terrarium, possibly two. Found this Zoo Med 18x18x24 for $94. Ready to buy it, but could not find one employee to help. I had to ask the one and only employee I could find, which was the cashier, if he could get some assistance with a terrarium. Finally, an employee was found and I brought him to the terrarium that I was interested in purchasing - he then rips off the $94 tag and says that someone forgot to remove the sales tag that it's actually $189. He really should've honored it, but did not. Needless to say that they not only lost the sale, but they lost a customer for life. read more

If you want your beloved pets taken care of DO NOT USE A PETCO GROOMER NAMED AIDEN. I arrived at 1:45 for a 2:00 PM appointment for a bath and a nail trim for my Beagle. AIDEN came through the store at about 1:50 and basically told me I would have to wait 10 more minutes so he could finish his lunch. After wandering around the store, I went back to the grooming area to see AIDEN trimming another dog's nails. AIDEN'S attitude was extremely dismissive and arrogant. He, AIDEN, has absolutely NO UNDERSTANDING OF CUSTOMER SERVICE. And the way he, AIDEN, handled the little dachshund was VERY ROUGH. Needless to say, I was NOT going to let AIDEN touch my dog with a ten foot pole. He, AIDEN, is definitely in the WRONG JOB. He, AIDEN, is also FAR FROM PROFESSIONAL. The grooming dept is terrible with their appointments. I called and set 2 different appointments and they set them on different times and days that I requested. I had a 8:00 appointment. The store post that they are open at 8:00., but no one arrived till 8:15 . When I mentioned why they were opening late I was told by a the young lady that it was because they did not have a 8:00 appointment as agreed. She did not have any dogs there , she could have tried to make it right for me. Terrible service and attitude. Very disappointing. Store is run down, and employees are not interest in helping customers. I had to hunt someone down to check out and pay. Even the manager is "checked out". The young girl at the register had to call the manager over for help on a return.... manager wouldn't allow credit or even exchange on an item purchased a week ago. Not my favorite location.. today the store was very hot and humid inside. Lots of inventory pallets/rolling carriers everywhere. I only saw maybe 2 employees and a lot of people walking around looking confused trying to find the products they needed. I couldn't find some products that said were at this location. Found an employee and she said they had them but couldn't find them under the giant tower of inventory. So now I'm having to go to 2 locations instead of 1. Might as well of gone to the other location instead.. very disappointed read more

The store was unorganized. After spending several minutes looking through what appeared to be the clearance section for cats, I asked an employee for help. I showed her what I was looking for from the on-line add. She advised that item was sold out. I informed her that several of the clearance items did not have a price tag. I asked her where the clearance section was for cats was and she said it's in the isle next to the cat section. In the isle was a bin full of random items from toys to treats. Also in isle was a portable medal shelf. It was filled with a variety of cat products as well. This is the area I had been looking through. Neither the bin nor the shelf was labeled. When the employee explained to me where the clearance items were she did NOT differentiate between the shelf and the small bin, other than there was also a bunch of stuff that needed to restocked and she had not got around to doing that and the store was disorganized at the moment. This employee was nice but not clear. On a prior visit (2 days before) the cashier was rude and dismissive. I had several items to price check. The one item she priced that I purchased I was charged twice. I found the error immediately, took the receipt back in the store and explained the overcharge. She was like a robot. No personality and no apology for the mistake. This used to be a nice place to shop. Not sure what happened. read more

While in Carrolton, I stopped into Petco to see what I could find for my new fur baby. This is a much smaller Petco and appears old. As I was looking around, I came upon a Princess Leia hat, with the signature buns on either side. I stood there and laughed for a good 2 minutes! Too funny. Unfortunately, they did not have her size. I stopped a male employee, he looked through the rack, and just said "No, we don't have any more." Um, ok. How about looking in the stock room? He left, but then two more employees walked up to me and asked if I needed help. They looked in the back and could not find any more in stock. She then pulled out her phone and began looking online for me. Great customer service! I ended up buying a Yoda Hat for my pup. She hates it, but I crack up every time she wears it! read more

Rusty loves Petco grooming. Yesterday Rusty has an appointment with Karlie. She is very kind and loving to him. She even had warm towels for him to lay on and she said he went right to sleep! We purchased the defurmenator even for a medium coated dog he can shed. Petco is close by I drop him off and when he is done i run into the store and purchase some cookies for him. My past experiences at Petco locations have always been the same - walk in, grab what I need, walk out. I have never been blown away or had much reason to think about the service there, let alone write a review. However, I began frequenting this Petco location after moving to Carrollton and I can't explain to you just how wonderful the staff here is. I have an 8 month old puppy who can be a huge handful, and I can confidently say that this staff has given me more helpful advice and support than even my own vet! When Albert began exhibiting food allergy symptoms, a team member worked with me for over 30 minutes sharing the best kind of foods, scientific research, and local allergist suggestions. When my hands were full and Albert decided to relieve himself in the middle of the store and I was feeling exhausted and overwhelmed, two team members promptly ran up to help hold him and take my items to the register for me so I was able to clean (and also provided me with some great training tips). When Albert was getting neutered, the cashier shared that she was a vet tech for many years and provided me with very helpful tips to help make his recovery much smoother. I have never met a more knowledgeable team and it is clear as day that each and every one of them has a passion for animals. I have never once had a poor experience at this Petco location thanks to the amazing group that works there and I want each and every one of them to know just how much I appreciate their help and service. read more

Very understaffed. I came here on a Wednesday around noon and there were maybe 5 customers in the store so it wasn't very busy at all. There was only One cashier and the wait to check out was painfully long. The staff were not friendly or welcoming. The store has a nice selection of products and it was very neat and clean. They better step it up (more staff and a smile would be nice as well) considering it is the holiday season. read more

I'm not really a pet store kind if gal but when I've needed pet supplies Petco has come through. From live crickets for a bearded dragon...to training pads for my elderly cat. Their products are reasonably priced which will keep me coming back. When my son asked for a hamster we went to Petco for some research. Terri was very informative and answered all of our questions plus provided additional information that we didn't think to ask. This was not our first stop for the research, we also went to Petsmart and the young staff there was not as knowledgeable. We will definitely come back to Petco for all our pet supply needs, even when it's time for a hamster. read more

Avoid the rude groomers! I was told I didn't need to make an appointment just yesterday. I took my little rescue terrier in about opening this morning. There was not one dog or customer in the entire store or in the groomers. Yet, when I took my baby in the person was rude and dismissive. She told me they could only trim nails. "What's wrong with her leg?" in a not kind voice. This is my baby. This has been my precious for 10 years. Then she left to ask if they could wash her. Remember not one customer in the entire store! She was gone "to ask" for quite awhile, so Sugar and I started walking out. I saw three people stocking and asked again about making an appointment and was told the same-only nails without an appointment-which I would gladly have made. Again, not helpful. I expect my baby to be welcomed and pampered, not made fun of and dismissed! I cried all the way home that anyone would treat my Sugar so rudely! She is not a pedigree, she has a broken leg since birth, I rescued her just 2 hours from euthanasia 10 years ago! She is too special to be dismissed like that. read more

Great grooming salon! I was in desperate need to get my dogs groomed and was so happy they where able to get us in the next day. I was nervous to take them at first, because sometimes with shih tzus you don't always get the groom you ask for. My dogs are messy eaters and i need everything in the face cut short, a lot of places don't do this since its not the "typical" cut for them. I was so impressed, they did exactly what i asked for and double checked with me when i left. My dogs leave in positive attitudes, i will keep coming back! read more

I love this Petco for my dog Dakota's grooming. Carly is a professional dog groomer and has groomed my dog several times, she has lots of patients and dog knowledge. She talks to my dog and keeps her happy. I let her know my dog is great about getting her nails clipped...boy was I surprised. Carly said she didn't have a problem....... I would request her. Sherrie is my pom Cookie's favorite groomer and she consistantly does a great job. Haven't really experienced the other groomers.

Definitely do not recommend I brung my malipoo here for grooming got a phone call that they had to take her to a vet because her ear was clipped and had to be sewn up. My dog was in so much pain crying and they offered her a free service just brung her back today and brung up when they clipped her ear and was pose to be doing her cut free now they are saying they can't cut her today because she is matted "there is no signs of matting on my dog" they're not wanting to do it because of the incident last time do not take your pet here if you want her to be hurt read more

Now that Pet-O-Rama is closed, we go to Petco (this one is just north of the Bushie) for our pet food needs. We go here even though Petsmart is closer. Petsmart does not carry Wellness products, and we feed the kitties and pup Wellness Core kibble and a variety of Wellness soft foods. They like it. We researched it, and we like it. I just wish it was more widely available. This store is neat and clean. No funky 'animal' smells in here. The cages of the kitties up for adoption are clean. The animals look happy and well taken care of. There are lots of toys for our babies, and we are always tempted to add to their already humongous toy box. Our fur babies are spoiled beyond belief. When we see something cool, and we know they would LOVE it, we have a difficult time sticking to our guns with the 'no more animal toys' rule. FAIL every time...we are suckers! I'm still working on Sugar Bear to let me have a beta...this store has some beauties including large sized ones and fantails. He has being saying 'no' for months, but I feel like I'm gaining ground with every trip! Why 4 stars? There is never anyone to ask for help. When I can hunt someone down, they seem pretty uninformed. Educate yourself before you head to the store. It is the best way to go. read more

I've always had better experiences at Petco for dog food, rawhide and stuff for my dog. Most locations I have visited have a plentiful supply of rawhide sold by the pound and with good variety. I was in the area so I decided to stop in for some fresh rawhide. I was displeased with the lack of variety. They have a small section with only a few to choose from and the customer service is mediocre at best. The manager was our cashier and she was less than friendly. Wednesday was my first visit at this Petco location and I could never think of going back. I took my fur baby for a full haircut and bath and I got him back with his "private parts" irritated from razor burns. He won't even go on walks as of right now, and he licks all day. When the store got my survey back they called me immediately to address the situation. When I told them what had happened, they said razor burns were caused because of the matting my baby had going on, that ANY groomers would have done the same thing okay.... First of, this has NEVER happened before and when I asked why not just leave it alone then, the answer was "because it's inhumane" okay? But it's not inhumane to give a dog razor burns down there when you are AWARE this is going to happen. Why not used clippers instead of a razor. This job was done in a little over 2 hrs. Usually everytime I take my fur baby to the groomers it takes them the whole 4 hours. I was so surprised when they called me I thought something had gone wrong. But no. It's obvious this job was done in a rush and with no care whatsoever because although my baby did have matting going on this wouldn't be the first time, my past groomers had not problem with it before, and knew how to handle the situation. All they did here was shave him all over to get the job done fast. Literally even his tail was completely shaved off! when he had no matting there. So yes, if you care about your fur baby do not take them here. Joshua was my groomer by the way. read more

I brought my Corgi Mr. Barkley to Petco to have his "claws" clipped. I have tried everything to do them myself...but no go. We did the drop-in service and we were greeted by 2 friendly guys, a very clean and inviting office! Mr. B didn't shy away as he usually does. When my daughter turned 10 th is month we wanted to get her an aquarium bc we thought it would be easy for us to maintain & she'd like it with all the lively colors & movement. The staff help ed us with everything I needed to know from start to finish which was who could, should, & would fit in there together with harmony. I had no idea that certain fish or crustaceans couldn't live together bc they'd fight or eat each other. Duh me! now we have a good group of colorful & healthy creatures complete with my daughters favorites the red cherry freshwater shrimp. They even test the water for free to be sure your ready to put in the lil guys & not over chemical them, it's was an awsome experience. read more

First time experience at a grooming salon and I couldn't be happier! Our terrier mix dog had become severely matted and needed a complete shave. He had stopped allowing me to trim the mats and fought attempts at nail trims. I was expecting a call saying that they couldn't do anything with him. When I picked him up 4 hours later, he was like a new dog! Shaved (but hair left longer for cuteness where possible), clean, soft, and nails trimmed! I Brought my dog in to the Petco Grooming area for a haircut, bath, and nail trimming. Everything went really well until they told me to come get my dog in four hours. Before I left we discussed the style I wanted for my dog. I spent some time describing what I wanted in some detail. Unfortunately, for my dog, the person working there completely tuned me out. They probably heard a small portion of what I told them, jumped to an assumption and made my poor dog look awful. I explained that I wanted his coat to be trimmed with respect to his prior grooming but instead they had to ultimately shave him because the style they assumed looked horrendous. I expected some expertise and at least some sense of what would look good for a dog. I did not get the sense that the stylist had any style with respect to grooming dogs nor did she make an effort to confirm I did want the outlandish style they assumed. Now, I don't know whether this was an isolated incident due to one employee in particular or a wide spread indication of the quality of the staff but truth be told there was only one person that cut my dog's fur. However, I got the feeling that other employees knew my dog's coat looked awful based on their response prior to bringing him to me. My experience and rating of the Petco Grooming facilities might be skewed by my resentment towards looking at an unrecognizable dog for several months but to their defense, they did make an effort to reconciling the situation by offering some accommodation for future visits. They were very respectful and very pleasant to interact with but ultimately I wanted my dog to look good after a grooming, and I did not get that result. I believe that if you can actively make an effort to describing what you wanted as specifically as you can, possibly bring a picture, and verify whether the stylist understood what you meant then you may have a pleasant experience. If you want a stylist who's judgment you can trust, then you may have to look somewhere else. read more

I come here a lot because it's right by my house. I love bringing my pup here, he loves to sniff around and find his own toys and bones. I've gotten all my animals stuff from here. My turtle a tank, cat a scratching post, and dog toys. The staff are welcoming and there to help. However it's hard to ever find anyone at the cash register when you're done. You have to wait until someone sees you or you tell someone you're ready to check out. Not a bad location, but nothing really stands out above the rest of the pet stores like this one. read more
