I am not usually one to review businesses, but I had a frustrating experience here this past weekend. I had an appointment scheduled to get both of my Huskies groomed and de-shed treatment. After getting the dogs down to the Petco groomers for our appointment, I provided the staff with the current shot records for both dogs. Then they continued collecting information from me, contact, Vet, all the standard stuff. This all took over a half hour because it was our first visit to this groomer, which Is to be expected. After completing the paperwork and turning over both dogs, the staff asked me if either of them are on medication or have any medical conditions, thinking they just needed to know in case of emergency I disclosed that one of them has epilepsy and has been on medication with no seizures for years. At that point the staff rudely told me "sorry we can't groom your dog because she has a medical condition, store policy". If that's the stores policy, they should ask those questions first when making the appointments. Not after wasting someone's time dragging their dogs down there and filling out paperwork. Both of my dogs have been groomed several times before and had no issues. In the future I will be going to a private groomer. read more

I really like the self-wash station. I always take my dog here in the winter time when it's too cold for backyard baths. It's about $10 and it includes soap, towels, ​brush, and dryer! read more

This Petco is in the Menifee Marketplace that opened about two years ago. The good news is that it's always clean & bright, they have a grooming center that is affordable, & I usually find what I need. The unfortunate news is that the manager can be ridiculous about returns & the cashiers can be great or clueless about a transaction, depending on who ya get. It's also convenient & well-stocked, & nothing's been an issue so hey...I'm a fan baby! read more

Came to find one item, store staff unable to locate it. I found the item and sku number . I asked them to look it up to see if there were any in the store's stock. I was told that the employees ate unable to do that . A manager had to look it up. The problem is that the manager was not around and after asking to speak to them, they never came up to the register. One of the staff found it in the back storage . Lots of wasted time and a totally stupid policy on looking up items , to see if they are in stock. That's after I went online and got the info. There were a couple of people in the store , but only one person was taking the time to look. The other staff was uninterested in resolving my problem. Poor management, staff needs training on how to service customers. read more

Came in and out without anyone greeting me or asking me if I needed any help. This place is just robbing people. Went to see how much flea meds and supplies were. .. way too much. Checked amazon for a price comparison, $30 cheaper on amazon for the same product. Don't waste your money or gas, you can buy pretty much anything you need on amazon for a whole lot less. The only reason I gave it 2 stars is because the dogs were happy to go shopping. Guess you're paying for the experience. But at $30 mark up, I'm sure your dog will be just as happy at the park! read more

We have 2 cats and a dog (all are small breed). We've brought our cats to the thrive vet and it's been great! Love the easiness of making/canceling appointments with them and them being affordable is a bonus! Today we made an appointment for our dog to be groomed and de-shedded. Our appointment was at 1:45, but we arrived early since we assumed there would be paperwork for our pups first visit. Showed up around 1:30....no one was at the desk, I thought "okay they must be grooming" but other employees walking around or sitting at the register did not even acknowledge our presence or even bother to assist checking us in or at least notify someone who can. It was about 1:50 by the time we finally got checked in. Paperwork and everything was simple, nothing crazy. The very nice lady that took our pup was so welcoming of our baby. She could tell our pup was shaking and scared. The lady got on the floor, petted our pup and got to know her for a few seconds. (I thought that was a sweet moment.) Once they took her, they said due to being under staffed today that it would take about 2 hours. EXACTLY 2 hours later we get a call that our baby is ready and we head over. This time around, again, no one was at the front desk to greet us but an employee did make sure that we were seen ASAP (much better experience). The lady was nice and made sure we didn't have a delay and we paid as we waited for our pup to come out. When she came out, our baby was so calm, smelled of vanilla and was in a beautiful purple bandana!!! I asked her how she was with the groomer, and she had nothing but good things to say!! Overall: the 5 stars is how CLEAN my pup looks, how personal the groomer was with my dog and for the vets helping my cats in making sure they're healthy. I am giving benefit of the doubt on lack of communication for the front desk of the groomers and as the groomer mentioned they were understaffed. (Have a bell or something maybe?) read more

Everyone here is so nice and tries to be helpful even if the subject isn't their speciality. Bought my kiddos three fish and Bradley was every bit of polite, patient and knowledgeable regarding the fish and equipment needed to house, feed and keep the fish healthy. I've been back three times for different things and have never had a bad experience. The prices are also better than petsmart. Love! read more

This place is huge. The staff is friendly every time I come in. The selection is great, and the store is pretty clean.

The best pet store in Menifee hands down. We shop for our hamster, cat, and fish here. We have a goldfish and tetra fish tank. My daughter loves the cat adoption area and we always try to give some attention to these cats. For some reason the store has been low on feeder goldfish. I know many local area stores are having a similar problem, but it needs to get rectified. read more

I recently brought my English Mastiff in to be groomed. Upon arrival they realized she would be too big to comfortably be crated in the size they had to offer and the groomer would have to take a break before she would be able to get to my girl Aspen. I was very thankful that they let me know and I took her to go play for an hour before bringing her back. They did what is called a zoom groom where the groomer stays with her from start to finish and she was so happy to see me when I came back to get her. As a dog owner of a skiddish dog it was relieving to see her so comfortable with a stranger. She was fresh and clean and smelt amazing when I picked her up. The groomer took time to explain everything she did and what parts she took extra time on. I will definitely continue to bring Aspen here and ask for the same gal! read more

The self dog wash closes an hour and half prior to the store closing which makes no sense. It's ridiculous that they need to start cleaning and hour and half early. It's 2 bathtubs that the customers wipe down after. read more

I had my newly adopted pup, Sofie groomed yesterday. The groomers were very kind and did a wonderful job!

Came in on Friday and saw 1 of the birds not looking well. Sad, inactive, and his water bowl was dirty. I asked for a manager but she was out. So I contacted the corporate office just to have the bird checked on. Went in on Sunday and the bird was 100% different. He jumped off his perch, ran to the window and was so interactive. Great job to Becky the manager for ensuring that "George " was well taken care of. read more

Went in to purchase a fish tank to start up, Jordan greeted me and asked if there was anything he can do to help me with! He explained everything I would need to start a betta tank and was very thorough. My boyfriend's brother and his partner get all of their pet supplies from here. They have an 80 gallon aquatic tank and are often trying out new filters and decor. We went there last night in need of a new filter and almost bought one a bit pricey until the aquatic specialist tuned our attention to something just as efficient for half the price. This particular Petco is absolutely wonderful! I've been speaking directly to Tim, Debbie, Becky, and Ashley there. They are all so knowledgeable about their animals. I have done quite a bit of research on guinea pigs so when I went in there, I knew what I wanted. Debbie helped me pick the right guinea pig for my existing piggie based on temperament since she has experience with the animals. Shortly, this guinea pig had an upper respiratory infection. I took her back broken hearted thinking I'd never see her again. Becky, Debbie, and Ashley called me multiple times during their stay to give me updates and let me know they were doing great. Even remembered the piggies names. I brought my babies back after a 7 day treatment. There was still a little sneezing so I once again returned them to be looked at by the vet . The vet determined that they'd need a few more days of treatment, once again they have called after the appointment and almost daily to let me know the girls are well. Tim in the back, that gives the animals their medicine has even told me how their symptoms have improved and everything. They take time to walk to the back and check on them if I call. Not only are they great with my guinea pigs, but I also buy everything for my 3 senior dogs here. They always come and pet them, show them lots of love. I'd drive to this petco over any other one in my area because everyone that works here is passionate about animals, knowledgeable, and has amazing customer service! read more

Absolutely LOVE the staff here. One person in particular, Brian, he was quite busy with a few other customers in the store when my mom and I were looking for new puppy food. My puppy is two months old and he is allergic to chicken. So for his source of protein I feed him salmon and he loves it! Well although I have been feeding him the Small Puppy Breed Nutro Brand I wanted to try something new. Brian was very informative and suggested the brand Warm Hearted for our puppies. He EVEN gave us a free bag to try! Which was very thoughtful of him! The staff was overall very sweet and welcoming and we love coming here for all of our puppy needs! read more

I love all of the employees at this store. When I come in with my dog Butterz, he has the best time because they all remember him and he gets a ton of love and treats. Vicki is the best groomer around. She has been with Petco for a very long time. She will ask you each time how you want the grooming to go, longer, shorter, same, etc. She listens to your request. Started the day out really nice my daughter and I were in the hunt for freshwater fish and a tank. I recently went to rodeo and my daughter ended up winning three goldfish they only survived for a couple days. My daughter is only three years old so she was really upset. She decided to use all her piggy bank money buy another fish. So we ended up going to Petco we were talking to a nice lady named Gina she helped us out get the tank and every little accessory that came with it my daughter wanted a pink glow fish she recommended we get a bigger tank for them and I just recommended getting two small fish instead of one big one my daughter was really happy. Until we ended up going to pay at the cash register we were introduced to Brenda which had attitude right off the back and scolded Gina for not having a slip on the fish she told her how am I going to ring people up with no ticket Brenda! She then proceeded to tell me that the fish will not survive in that tank! The tank was 2.2 gallons the fish were less than a inch long. She told me that if I didn't have another tank ready for transferring to come back and pick up the fish later and they will not survive. So I then was made to put the fish back and she told me come back when I'm ready.. I live kind of far away I didn't want to say thing that gas is almost 5 bucks a gallon right now!! my daughter was bummed.. so we ended buying abeta fish but before I got to my car my daughter was crying over the pink fish! So I turned around and took the beta fish back to Brenda and said that we were going to go home and set up the fish tank first then come back for her to fish and then she replied yeah and then you got to see if they'll even survive or die in that small tank in front of my daughter.. pretty crazy how some people have no filter when they're upset I will not go back to this Petco ever again I will go to Petsmart from now on Gina was awesome she should get a job at petsmart read more

Terrible customer service, staff does not care. This is the closest store for buying fish and other stuff for our aquarium but the tanks are dirty, mislabeled, and full of dead fish. Once again I stood in line at this Petco to purchase something and watched a groomer behind the registers do absolutely nothing to comfort the dog she was working on. She said not one word to the dog. Brushed a short haired dog with a wire brush, not even paying attention to what she was doing and obviously hurting the dog. The dog was clearly terrified; panting, tail tucked. She did however have time to smile at and converse with the other 2 people in there who were not working on anything. This is unacceptable and something needs to be done. DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOGS HERE TO BE GROOMED!!!!! If you don't love dogs don't do this for a living! read more

Took my husky mix for a bath and to get deshed, WOW!! when I picked her up she looked amazing & I could tell my dog felt great too!! 2 days later and her coat still feels silky soft and she seems extra happy! Always a pleasant experience when we come to this store. With normal coupons, like the "rewards program," you should be able to have to cashier scan the barcodes straight from your smartphone. Store is clean, no waiting line (on a Sunday when the store opens), pleasant staff, and manager seems to do her job. read more
