    Teriyaki Chicken Bowl
    Laurie S.

Had to rave about our meal! When your kids request Pete's Teriyaki for dinner, and you're totally on board too- you know it's good! Reality lived up to expectations with our experience! Ordered for take-out on a weekday evening. Inside the restaurant is not too big, and there are of course tables and chairs, but we often get ours to-go as well. The order placed was ready on time and all items were correct, even with modifications. Got a Tofu plate without salt atop, with veggie rolls, rice, tempura sweet potatoes. Textures and flavors were great-crisp on the outside, hot, moist, and flavorful inside. The special chicken plate was ordered wirh tempura carrots, and the family devoured that, the fries, and the Chicken Teryaki Bowl. It's lovely that you can get fresh, vibrantly colored steamed vegetables here! We also ordered multiple extra cucumber salad containers-perfect amounts in each container of goodness! I totally enjoy getting a nice fork-ful of it, then the scooping up some pillowy white rice in the same mouthful! Tempura sauce & teriyaki sauce were great to add as well. We get the sauces on the side so we can enjoy as we go. For years we have patroned the location on West Shaw in Fresno, and now are so excited to get to enjoy it in Clovis at this location! Consistency, value, and yes...get ready to have left overs, helping your money go even further as you might end up with enough for a second meal. Honestly, we have gotten plates and shared them in the past- portions are that ample. Well done Pete's Teriyaki! I will definitely be back soon!

Found this little gem on Yelp. Was looking for a good teriyaki chicken place since one I used to go to in Clovis closed down. Their chicken teriyaki bowl was very, very good and included white rice and tempura veggies. The serving size was so big that my son is taking the leftovers to work today for lunch. The tempura shrimp was also very good with four large pieces of shrimp. The food came out in under 10 minutes. Fast, easy, great value for the money and very good. Definitely coming back.

This place is nice. The bowl I tried was the skinless chicken teriyaki thighs. I do want to try the fish and some other entrees ... but what I tried was delicious. It looked very clean and the young lady was super friendly. I was curious about the cucumbers but for $0.50 for 2 slices of marinated cucumbers was strange. It should be free. However, I'd come here again!

Disappointed for the most part. I used to get food from Pete's location on W Shaw and thought it was really good back then. Good service, nice cashier. Long wait for food. Clean restaurant. Back to the food...The tempura vegetables had a thick, hard and chewy coating on them. Not the light and crispy coating you think of for tempura. The beef was tiny sliced pieces with like a gravy on it. The pork was dry. The chicken was good, tender and not overcooked. The sticky rice was good. If you like any kind of sauces, be sure to inquire about them when you order.

New! New! New! Getting lunch! Greeted upon entering and the worker was very kind. Ordered the Chicken teriyaki bowl, white meat with sriracha sauce. Paid for the order with a short wait. Order ready and handed over shortly later! That worker wasn't as kind and welcoming as the greeter, but oh well. Nice, little restaurant. Booths and chairs with tables. Clean, safe and practiced! Lunchtime! It's a large bowl and really fresh and delicious! Chicken cooked perfectly and tasty! Made even better with adding sriracha sauce to spice it up! Yum! Fresh veggies and delicious sticky white rice too! Good amount! Easily 2 meals! Half was enough. Good service taking the order and delicious teriyaki white chicken bowl! Highly recommended!

Quick, easy & good! Nice sized portions, the chicken wasn't dry with that "grainy texture" & the tempera shrimp itself is big. Definitely a go to.

    Family meal deal
    Larry D.

Got the family meal for $59. It was easy to order online. I received a text five minutes before it was ready, and it was easy to pick up, though it was very busy inside. Everything in the tray was delicious. It included crispy chicken, teriyaki chicken dark meat, egg rolls, tempura veggies, tempura shrimp, and white rice. It came with a nicely sized side of teriyaki sauce, but a tiny side of tempura dipping sauce. Could've used more of that. We will definitely be frequenting this place.

Yay! I'm so happy they've opened one up closer to our home. This just means MORE Pete's Teriyaki, MORE often. Lol

There's a new Don in town and It was well worth it. It's mostly a take-out place with just a few tables and a lot of people waiting to pickup their food. We ordered two plates of the Chicken Teriyaki with dark meat but one plate will actually feed two people. The first bite had me hooked, You don't even need to add their Teriyaki sauce because it's cooked to perfection- juicy, tender and delicious unlike the dry white meat I've been getting from Teriyaki Don for the last twenty years. It comes with a scoop of white rice and tempura vegetables that were OK. This new location is definitely my go to place now and we can't wait to try the other dishes. See you soon Pete!

Service/ ambiance: Came here on a Thursday around 8 to be greeted by a 45min. Wait--we stuck around. The place was super packed, and because the windows had the blinds down with art work; it felt a bit claustrophobic and overwhelming. We got an alert that our table was ready and checked-in. The hostess then left us, and waved us down to signal where we were sitting (they could've told us to follow them lol) The waitress was nice, but seemed a bit scattered. Automatically asked what we wanted, but we had never been here before, so wasn't sure how it all worked (they never explained). The walls of our booth were littered with scrape marks and chipped paint. The booth had no cushion whatsoever, making it extremely difficult to get comfortable (ok...there's a cushion, but it's flat). The table was the most annoying part. No matter if you scoot it more towards you or the other side there still so much space. I'm basically sitting at the edge of my seat trying to eat because of the distance--if you're a bit heftier on the stomach--it's perfect. (Random observation: the bathroom looks nice, but not well kept. There's graffiti and cravings all over, which makes me think I'm in the bathroom of a dive bar) Food: As I mentioned I was craving sushi--their selection was lack luster. Almost everything had the same ingredients. The salmon sashimi looked pale and had no color. There were some pieces that were sliced so thin you could basically see through it. I ordered two rolls for my daughter (crazy roll & snow mountain)--both were lacking flavor. The presentation for them was as if they didn't care or even try? Every time I picked one up it would fall apart. The Hibachi steak was cold and dry. Shot ribs were just lathered in sauce (not my preference), and mostly came with little meat and all bone. I'd only come back if the majority of people I'm with want to go, but I wouldn't suggest it myself. The service felt rushed. Food could have been presented/ prepared better. Space could've opened easily by letting us see out the windows and not feel so packed like a can of sardines, and could definitely use some touch up paint and better cushions. It could've been an off night, but this is what I experienced.

One word of advice: if you're planning to join the waitlist, I recommend calling ahead for a more accurate wait time. The website initially showed no one ahead of us, but after joining the waitlist it indicated several parties were waiting. When we arrived, we were told the wait would be about 45 minutes, which wasn't ideal with a couple of hungry kids. Thankfully, we were seated within about 10 minutes. Our server, Patrick, was fantastic! He provided excellent customer service, took the time to explain the sushi rolls, helped us navigate the kids' menu, and was attentive throughout our meal. Patrick, thank you for helping make my mom's birthday dinner so memorable. Khasey was our chef, and the food was absolutely delicious. He made sure we had every sauce we asked for. The teppanyaki experience for the children was engaging and fun. To top it off, the staff brought out a cute birthday dessert and sang a birthday tune for my mom, which made the celebration even more special. The location is another huge plus. It's situated in a great area near Fresno State with plenty to do before or after dinner, including ice cream shops, boba spots, VR gaming, and movie theaters. Overall, we had a great experience and can't wait to come back!

Whether you're craving sushi, teriyaki, or ramen, they really have something for everyone. The sushi and sashimi are incredibly fresh -- honestly some of the freshest fish we've had at any sushi restaurant. It tastes like the chef went out and caught it that morning. The 14-piece sashimi platter with a couple of rolls was more than enough for two people, and everything was excellent quality. The ramen is also fantastic, but fair warning: the bowls are HUGE, so definitely come hungry. Their garlic edamame is absolutely addictive, and we really enjoyed the poke in the seaweed poke salad, though the dish does lean very heavily on the seaweed, so just keep that in mind before ordering. I was immediate greeted by the two Sushi chefs behind the counter as I walked in. Not long after, the host greeted me and handed me a menu for me to select my order to go. I considered a poke bowl, however, their sauces were pretty standard. So instead I opted for their seaweed salad that came with a number of protein including tuna, edamame, shrimp, avocado, and masago. It was $19, so it wasn't necessarily inexpensive, however I figured a poke bowl with a couple proteins would run me right about there as well. The sushi chef got right away to work preparing my meal and I was in and out within 5 minutes. When I got home, I opened up my box and was a little underwhelmed with the presentation. The protein is cut up into small pieces and mixed in with the seaweed salad. In addition it is not pure seaweed as it is also mixed in with a bunch of other greens such as sprouts. So while the presentation was not what I was expecting, I was pleasantly surprised that I really enjoyed the flavors and textures. I will definitely order this again.

We both agreed the broth wasn't as hot as we'd like and could use just a touch more flavor. Both were okay, but I preferred my broth more. I wish I paid attention to the fact that mine came with THIN noods though... I feel like I would've enjoyed my dish way more with thick noodles. To be honest, I should have done the build-your-own Ramen and selected everything I wanted myself... now I know. You live and you learn. The Wontons were good but we didn't eat much of it, as it came out the same time as the ramen. Once the ramen was served, our main focus was on that and that filled us up! Packed the rest to go. For this being our first time, it wasn't bad but it didn't wow us. If I'm being honest, so far-- the best Ramen we've ever had was in a small little shop we found while in Thailand back in March (yup, Thailand!). Unfair to this rating maybe? But-- every ramen I try will be compared to that now (sorry, it was THAT good). Until next time, which there will be a next time (just unsure how soon that will be)... they get a middle placement.

Pros: Sushi is pretty fresh for Fresno. Portions are good. Decent prices. Bento boxes are not bad. Friendly staff. They answer their phone for takeout orders even when super busy. Orders usually take 20-30 min to be ready. Cons: They skimp on the spicy mayo so you have to tell them to fill it all the way up since it's $1 each. Use to be $0.25 each. Don't recommend the fried rice (bland); maybe try getting a few tips from teppan chefs ;) Tried other places and this is our go to place for sushi. Expect a loud atmosphere when walking in but most restaurants are these days. All in all, would recommend this place if you happen to be in the area and craving sushi.

The flavor is there though It's supposed to have cream cheese, asparagus, jalapeño and beef inside but it had almost nothing. There was beef on the outside but for a 27 dollar roll I expected much more. I was disappointed. It was also a bit wet by the time it got to me via DoorDash. Sauces should be served on the side. I think if all the fillings were there I would have rated much higher.

Very crunchy. (5/5) Shrimp and veggie tempura: Probably the best tempura in Fresno. The veggies are fully cooked through but not soggy. Batter is light but crunchy. Doesn't feel overly greasy. (5/5) The only complaint I'd have is the fried rice. That was a bit soggy but the flavors were good. The inside doesn't look like much. Kind of dated. But don't let that deter you. The food is really good. The staff is very attentive and accommodating. I watched the regulars come in and order. You can tell they care about their customers. Very sweet family. Great customer service. Would definitely come again.
