I was looking for hot food, fast, at a reasonable price and ended up here. Good food, nice staff!

    Sesame chicken was pretty...

Price 5/5 I ordered the wings 5/5, the sesame chicken 4/5, Szechuan steak 2/5 and the egg roll 4/5. So overall, I put the food that I've tried so far at about a 4. I would definitely return for other menu selections. Food was prepared fast and was hot. Only complaint is they gave me no napkins or utensils. It's definitely a to go spot only.

I wanted to have some Chinese food for lunch, and the glowing reviews convinced me to check this place out. It was around 12:30pm, so I ordered the orange chicken lunch special and requested very spicy. The menus posted here are old, so the price was higher than expected, and unlike other carry out spots the egg rolls are an additional charge. My food was ready appropriately 10 minutes later. Pickup was easy and the service was friendly but the food wasn't as good as I was expecting based on the reviews. Everything was just okay, and it definitely wasn't spicy. The food wasn't bad, it just wasn't that great.

I was browsing around for a cheap lunch spot and came across this place. Reading the reviews really got me interested and that it's under 10 min away from work. I ordered the hunan shrimp and fried rice to keep it simple and kind of light with the shrimp. Keep in mind they don't deliver, just carry out so make sure you have a ride or a two wheeler. There's also no parking lot so you'll have to find street parking. Luckily for me there was a spot right in front. Staff was friendly and let me know a couple times that there will be an extra 50 cents charge since I didn't order over $8 and don't have cash. I appreciated that. Food was ready and it's oof to eating. Still piping hot when I opened the box. Tasted just as good as it looks. I wish they added more shrimp to it but I guess everyone skimps on shrimp. My new carry out spot. I'm going to have to try the chicken wings next time.

This is a week update of my Peter's Sub shop visit and I can say this place has some great food. I loved the steak and cheese sub! and the wings and mambo sauce were great too! Be sure to get the Tea/lemonade mix too! I don't believe you can go wrong with anything on the menu here!

Small Hunan chicken, full of delicious fresh veggies!

I'm so glad I tried this place. This is fast, cheap and NON-greasy takeout Chinese food. I got the steamed dumplings, pork lo mein, hunan chicken, and 2 free spring rolls. Here's what I thought: Pork lo mein-Very good, TONS of port Hunan chicken-This dish felt very healthy and 'clean'. If you're big on the meat, this may not be a dish for you. I personally loved that there were tons of fresh veggies and it wasn't over sauced. I actually didn't feel like I needed to go on a diet after eating this meal. Steamed dumplings: large dumplings, 8 per order, favor was just ok. Maybe the fried is the way to go on these. Lots of food for $5.25. Spring Rolls: They gave me two for free (WIN!) and they were actually really good. I don't typically like egg rolls and spring rolls because they are usually greasy but these weren't. My only negative was that I LOVE fortune cookies and they forgot to give them to me. Also, loved the mumbo sauce, which I just had to try after all the reviews.

Fried chicken always delivers for the family I'm a crunch. But word of advise- leave the fried rice alone. It has zero flavor and is greasy.

Came here for lunch with a friend on a weekend. We ate family style and ordered the scallion…read morepancakes, the spicy sesame paste tofu, the spicy oil wonton pork, the chive and pork dumplings and the sesame balls (filled with red bean paste). Total (not including tip) came out to approximately $49. What's Hot - Menu. Excellent. It's also written in Chinese in addition to English. For those of us familiar with traditional ethnic Chinese food, a menu written in Chinese is a good sign. They have traditional Taiwanese and Chinese food like scallion pancakes, sesame balls, beef noodle soup, soup dumplings, etc... Very good variety and there appears to be something for everyone, possibly with the exception of vegan dishes.. - Quality. Pretty good. Their scallion pancake was soft, not too oily, and not too salty. I prefer the scallion pancake to have been a bit more thick and flaky, but that's my personal preference. To be fair, still delicious. Their chive and pork dumplings definitely had a delicious chive flavor. Substantial and the wrapper was not too thick. Their spicy sesame paste tofu had a good flavor and substantive. The chili oil wontons were not too spicy and had a good flavor. Again, my personal preference would have been for the dumplings to have been more substantive, but still pretty decent. - Service. Pretty good. It appears most, if not all their staffers, speak Chinese (Mandarin), which was also helpful, because I specifically ordered in Chinese. I asked them about the spice level, because I wanted to ensure it would not be too spicy for my friend. - Price. Pretty good value for menu and portions. - Location. It's pretty easy to find. Also within convenient walking distance to the Silver Spring metro. The inside space is pretty good. Tables can seat a minimum of 2, all the way up to 8. What's Not - Quality. The sesame balls are smaller than I expected. They're the rough approximation of a ping pong ball, maybe smaller. I was disappointed, because I like sesame balls that are substantial. - Service. I specifically asked for soup spoons, because we were eating dumplings. Instead, they gave me regular spoons. Not all the dishes come out in the order you hope. For example, main dishes may come out before the appetizers. This is going to be dependent on your personal preference. - Parking. There is parking near the restaurant, but it's going to be dependent on the day and time. Final Answer Worth coming back.

None of us were from this area, and we intended to go to the Mayflower Chinese Restaurant, based on Yelp reviews. However, once we walked in the door, it was apparent this place was focused on carryout, and there was no way we were staying to eat in their dingy entrance area. We walked next door to the Meleket Ethiopian restaurant. However, the place was deserted, and we didn't stay there either. We tried the Lime & Cilantro, the next place down, but it was packed and couldn't handle our group. So, we skipped past the verernary clinic and went to Spring Garden. And, what a great choice that was. They offer a huge menu of Chinese, Thai, and Japanese meals. Everything is reasonably priced. Once we got our food, we were impressed with the quality and portion sizes. And, through it all, the service was prompt and friendly. I ordered Hot and Sour soup (my bellwether for Chinese restaurants) and beef chow fun. The soup was flavorful without being overpowering, and the chow fun was delicious too. I liked everything so much that I ordered another soup and Thai Basil with Chicken to go, and that's been my lunch for the past couple of days. Don't be put off by the seediness of its location. Spring Garden is a great place to grab some tasty, reasonably priced food, either to eat in or take away.
