Peterson's is one of the most wonderful steakhouses in the region. I've been to numerous steakhouses in every part of the world and this place is very comparable! The service is lovely and top notch and the ambiance is hands down appropriate! read more

Came for Valentine's Day last year while I was pregnant- server was great at helping select options that could be fully cooked (seafood). They also make great "virgin" cocktails. The o Lu thing we were a little disappointed in was the serving size of the appetizer; quite small for the price. But overall- we had a great experience! read more

Ordered two crab cake dinners. Potatoes and Brussels sprouts. For take out Paid $110.00. The food just average not worth The cost. Brussels sprouts were bitter Potatoes plain and crab cakes Very small with sauce tasteless. What a rip If you like spending money for average food Go there and waste your money Not a place To return not good read more

Traveling through town and Peterson's was recommended. What a chance find. Very well trained staff and dining rooms were nicely decorated for fine dining. Food quality and taste was top notch. We were pleased with every dish and would recommend this restaurant to anyone wishing a fine dining experience. read more

this is a good spot to go get dinner and drinks, and is reasonably priced for the quality of food.

This place was a total of $350 for 4 people, and 3 of us ordered NO drinks and NO dessert. The steak we ordered, we asked for medium plus, it came out mid rare. It was also not grilled but instead blackened on the outside. The asaparagus was over cooked soggy and mushy. The salads and appetizers were boring and bland. The ambiance was crowded, loud, and lacking privacy with the way the dining room was set up. You could over hear everyones conversation. It was also extremely hot inside. This place has the typical outdated steakhouse feel, with the undeserved price tag. Do yourself a favor, save $300 and go to Seasons 52 instead. Sincerely, Nick & Jaz read more

we had a delicious mea l and Coy our server made it even better. the food was excellent, the atmosphere was perfect. thank you!

Took my parents here when they were in town visit. Started with the charcuterie board and 6 oyster paired with some scotch. My father said the filet he had was one of the best steaks he's ever eaten. I had the cowboy ribeye topped with garlic butter. If you've got some room, try their bread pudding. This local spot has amazing service, a cozy atmosphere and wonderful food. read more

The ambience is great for all occasions except for bringing the pack of kids. The waiters knew the menu in its entirety and made great suggestions with pairing food with wine or cocktails. Food was cooked to perfection even the bread given before the meal was fresh, hot, and appetizing. read more

Went here again and we tried the Chef's Board appetizer. If you aren't adventurous or don't like things like duck liver etc. this may not be for you. My wife hated the salmon on it. The pork was good as was the salami. The duck liver was not something we cared for. The honey was good and the cheeses. If you are expecting the cheese boards you get at a winery this is not the same thing. It is definitely more along the gourmet line. The prime rib was fantastic as always and the merlot wine was outstanding. The twice backed potato is a must have as a side. read more

My favorite restaurant in Indianapolis - I think I could put down some roots here because of Peterson!! no seriously I was starting to think indy didn't know "good food" I wish there's more places like Peterson in indy read more

Had the worst steak of our lives last night. "Prime" rib-eye, $60. So full of gristle that each attempted bite (about half a steak with of attempts) had to be spit into a napkin before sending it back. Both of us had the lobster bisque, and both were up all night eating Tums. Have enjoyed many meals there, but will never go back. read more

BEST lobster in Indiana. If you want lobster tails or crab legs, you absolutely have to go here. This is one of my favorite restaurants! The service is spectacular and they have the most amazing food. The lobster fingers are to die for! Great management and beautiful interior. I recommend this place for anyone looking to celebrate an occasion or have a classy dinner. read more

First time we've been here in years and we loved it! We had the oysters on the half shell and they were delicious! So fresh and tasty! Our steaks were cooked perfectly. The Peterson's mashed potatoes were amazing and our wine. Gah. Heitz Cellars all the way! Thanks for a perfect birthday celebration for my hubs! read more

Very good steakhouse and what you would expect of a steakhouse. They have very good daily specials and the desserts close the meal out nicely. Expect to spend some money and dress appropriately. read more

We come to Peterson's each year for our anniversary. It never fails to disappoint us. Great food. Great service.

But... this five star rating comes at a price..and a nose bleeder. Now granted, I had two glasses of wine, six oysters on the half shell, a caprese salad and their 6 oz. filet mignon and lobster that asks $79 by itself. My wife and 10 yr old daughter were pretty simple splitting a filet and salad. No alcohol for them. The total with a 20% tip was $280. Now thats a date night. We seldom go out because I just like very good food and nothing less will do. I want fresh, great food, cooked perfectly and served appropriately. Thats why we eat at home. Summary. If you got the dough or have a really special celebration with some really strong foodies...my five stars are rarely awarded. Enjoy! read more

Been here multiple times and have felt like upper crest, the service was impeccable and attentive. Once was for a birthday, they took our picture and had it presented to us upon our departure. The seating is private in the booth areas, the backing is high, great for a romantic eve or anniversary. Typically we grab a martini or glass of wine at the bar, the martinis are reasonably priced for top shelf vodka. Unlike Ruth Chris they don't smother your steak in butter, but the flavor is just as good. My first duck experience was here as well, the duck crepe is light and flavorful, not gamey like I thought it would be, and tastes nothing like chicken. This place may put a dent in your wallet, but the overall experience and quality of food make you forget the price. read more

Peterson's - The German Chocolate cake, holy cow! - Steakhouses Near Me - Fishers, Indiana

The best restaurant in Fishers that I've been to. Expect to make an evening of the experience. Ask what they have that's not on the menu, and discover hidden secrets. The salt-rubbed roast was extraordinary - hasn't been matched since. I make my own steaks at home, fresh from the local butcher, exactly how I want them. No chef in the world knows my tastes better than me. So I don't order steaks in restaurants. Unless it's absolutely extraordinary, it's bound to cause disappointment compared to what I can make at home. So I can't rank Peterson's on steaks. Soup and appetizers are superb. The bisque is very good. The waitstaff is formal and responsive. This waitstaff WILL NOT interrupt your meal and ask "how are we doing?" Thank goodness! Next time somebody asks me that, I'm going to scream. Nor will they try to take your dishes from right under your fork. Why do so many restaurants attempt to snatch up your plate as soon as you slow down? Are they running low on dishes? This is exactly what it posits: a quiet formal evening dining experience with top-shelf (expensive) drink and food. If you expect something else, you'll be disappointed. read more

An ideal spot for a casual conversation at the bar, a quite evening out or a non-rushed business dinner - as was last night. The service was as I like, attentive but not pushy or intruding. Food was very good with and everything cooked perfectly: rib eye, scallops and ahi. The vegetables, especially the snow peas and asparagus were particularly fine. Outstanding wine list. No room for desert. It was quite enough to have a nice round table conversation and we sat for an hour after dinner telling stories, as we do, without being pushed out the door accepting offers for more coffee, even after we said no. read more

Love their food here. We go here for special occasions and always love the entire visit. Friendly waiters and amazing food. In my opinion, this is better than Sullivans and Ruth Chris, which I have been to quite a bit. They have a great special side room my Dad once rented out to surprise my mom for their 30th with all of our family and friends. Very reasonable priced and they helped him out with all of the details, down to getting some flowers for the room. read more

We've enjoyed Peterson's for years, however this last time around I was charged $35 piece for a High West Manhattan. When I pointed out the error, it was corrected to $25 a piece. What happened Peterson's? Getting caught up in your own hype, or did you hire an insane bar/menu manager? The best cocktail bars in the world charge $12-15 a drink and they're actually good, not some mediocre concoctions that came on the rocks and diluted after 5 minutes. The surcharge to have it "up manhattan style" was also hilarious - charge extra to have a manhattan "manhattan style"? Really? You charge extra for how a classic cocktail is supposed to be served? What a joke. Food was great, but no thanks. read more

Here's how our night went: - Bacon-wrapped Shrimp (3 for $20, but amazing) - Coconut Martini (Wife loved it) - Glass of Cabernet ($14, very good) - Lobster Bisque Soup ($8, Not too much lobster in it, but great taste) - Mixed Greens Salad ($7, Delicious and sooo fresh!) - 16 oz. Ribeye ($37, Not the *best* steak I've ever had, but probably Top 15. Go to Texas and you'll get twice the steak for half the price.) - Amish Chicken Roulade ($27, Wife said it was "the least favorite part of the meal". Orzo was so-so, chicken was kind of bland. For the price, go with some of the fresh seafood instead.) - A flourless chocolate torte was complimentary since we were celebrating our anniversary. Save some of your red wine for this! Delicious, almost like eating fudge. Rich and decadent. - Two truffles for the road, compliments as well! Used the recent $70 Groupon for a night out and was treated just as a normal customer (Groupons typically get the raised nose at this type of place, just tip well and you'll help the rest who come behind you :) Got out of the door for $50 + tip with the Groupon (paid $35), amazing meal for a great price. read more

Celebrated our 22nd wedding anniversary tonight. From the moment we arrived we felt welcomed. The food was outstanding and Coy was an exceptional server. I'm a Mortons and Capital Grill girl. but you know what Petersons is good for? their bar eats. forget about the main dining room. it's freezing in there, anyway (I hate how fine dining does that. Maybe it's to accommodate all the men in their suit and ties but still. Makes your food go cold fast too). Duck legs, crab cake, teriyaki ribs. Skip the meatballs. But my favorite is their ONION RING tower. You know how MacNivens has fat onion rings? Like that. but bigger and better, yeah it's possible! Stroll into their bar and just order that alone for dinner. Knife and fork that humble $8 root veggie with relish. awesome! Bartenders are friendly and won't frown on you for doing it, either. oh yeah, sometimes it's even part of their special rotating Thurs happy hour 50% deal and you can have that baby buster for $4 (!!!)-- Yes you can order off the regular menu in the bar too. I had their scallops once. They were good. But not a big Hello Dolly bc fresh fat sweet scallops do all the work themselves--some s&p, quick sear, splash o' white wine, squeeze o' lemon, you're good. not a tremendous lot of skill req'd. Costco is down the street. read more

A+ steakhouse conveniently located on 96th street in Fishers. What a gem of a place! No longer do I need to drive all of the way downtown to St. Elmo's deal with parking, etc. This place has an excellent wine list, over 400 wines in house as well as excellent menu featuring seafood and steak. My husband and I celebrated his birthday here and we could not have hoped for a better experience. The reason I give 4 stars instead of 5 is because the service wasn't anything special, especially compared to St. Elmo's or other fancy steak houses. Our waiter was attentive, but they didn't go the extra mile. They did a great job with my husband's birthday and staff came by with a camera and they took a picture and made us a card. We thought that was a really sweet touch! The food was perfect, atmosphere was great! Would definitely go back! read more

I have never in my life dealt with a manager like this. Sad that I spent my birthday here tonight. Should have gone with Eddie Merlot's like we thought we should have.My husband had asked to speak to the manager and we had discussed that before the manager arrived in he would do it away from the table not to bother our guest. As my husband asked the manager to step away from the table only after the manager slammed the doors making a scene in front of them I then stood up asking him if he was kidding. Sad how we were treated and I pray this manager finds a better way of dealing with his customers rather than slamming a door to discuss our dinner in an adult manner. I think customer service is not his forte. His actions were confirmed by customers honoring our complaints as we were leaving as well as an employee saying sir I understand completely. Sad case of affairs. Will never ever return read more

The food and atmosphere aside from the rude table across from us was fantabulous! Coy was/is fantastic and made what could have been a disastrous evening due to the unruly guests across the room into a delight despite their behavior. Coy even went to the point to "kindly request" them to lower their tone and watch their language as we were attempting to celebrate my fiancé's 30th birthday. Coy, simply put, turned what was supposed to be a quaint birthday celebration that was close to being ruined into a delightful experience that will have us coming back for years to come. Thank you again Coy. You are simply one of a kind. read more

This place is fantastic in terms of ambiance. I requested a quiet corner in my reservation and was given exactly that. Everyone knew upon our arrival what we were celebrating and everyone congratulated us. The downsides of the place is the cost. It was pretty pricy, especially for what we were given. Also, I found the food to be a little too salty. I ordered the prime rib medium rare but it was given to me medium. I was too hungry to take it back. My husband loved his aged strip and that was cooked perfectly. With as many great steak places as there are in town, I'm undecided if I will try here again. read more

Atmosphere is always great! Service was a little odd but I think it was just the night not the norm. Oysters were very unexpectedly bad but the wedge salad is as always the best in Indiana or anywhere as far as I'm concerned. I've never had a better wedge, its the yummy best. Great shrimp cocktail but the cocktail sauce is above average but not the best. Martini was a little weak but stuffed olives were perfect. Jeff loved the Mackerel Special. Overall it was an okay dining experience. Although for the price it should be a wow I loved my dining experience. That was not the case. It wasn't very busy, if I'd been the waiter i would have made it a night to remember. Just saying read more

The experience can be summed up in one word. Amazing! Our server was very nice and knowledgable about the menu. I had a special, dry aged bone-in rib eye. It was perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The restaurant atmosphere was nice and formal. I definitely will be going back for more. read more

I was stunned to find a restaurant of this caliber in the suburbs of Indianapolis. I've really enjoyed the beef I've had here; it's on par with some of the best steaks I've had around the country. The wine list is impressive and the sommelier is helpful. read more

We had reservations at Peterson's for the day before Valentines Day. It is definitely a classier joint so don't walk in wearing jeans and a t-shirt. However, it does not feel stuffy. It has a very modern, classy ambiance. We were seated and welcomed by our waitress. The had a set, limited menu for Valentine's weekend but it was still diverse enough that we each found something delicious to try. We each ordered the Cesar salad and it was just OK. I would expect the same quality from someplace like Applebees or the like. However, I completely forgot about the salad when I dug into the Center Cut Filet. OMG!! Melt-in-your-mouth delicious! So flavorful and tender. Definitely the best steak I have ever had. We also shared a side of Au Gratin potatoes that were creamy and cheesy and perfect. For desert we shared the Creme Brulee and that was quite good as well. Overall, I was quite impressed with Peterson's. This will be our new restaurant for anniversaries and special date nights! read more

Tried this place for the first time during northside nights. We had 8pm reservations and when we got there asked if we wanted to sit in the main room or the lounge. We said we had never been there before so she took us to the lounge. Nice lounge, but had tvs and was distracting from trying to have a nice dinner. Should have sat in the main room. The service we great, but seems like we had 3 or 4 different people helping us out. B had an old fashioned that was nothing special and I had a cucumber type drink that was pretty good. Due to the set menu, we each tried the lobster bisque. Good taste, but not a lot of lobster. For the 2nd course, I had my heart set on the filet medallions - melted like butter! So delicious. B opted for the pork chop after the waiter recommended it. He said I had made the better decision though. Dessert came last then with the white chocolate creme brulee and flourless chocolate cake. Nothing to complain about there! All in all, a great date night. Expensive even for northside nights though. read more

I'd give this a 3.5 We're not locals and typically rely on Yelp restaurant reviews when we travel. I guess I expected more, but honestly it wasn't bad. The place screams fance. I believe they try to lure in a higher class. The dining room is definitely dressy. The lounge is a bit more relaxed but still upscale. We wandered in after being on a golf course all day hoping for a 5 star meal, even if in the lounge. The place was pretty much a ghost town and our meal still took 45 minutes or better. Drinks were good. Meal was good, but average for the price. Service got better as the better staff arrived. I could see the lure for the locals to enjoy a nice night out but I've had better. My husband loved the lobster bisque. The filet Oscar style was OK. It's fancy but I'm not sure it's worth the hype. read more

Stopped next door (wolfie's) for a beer and asked for a nice restaurant suggestion since we both were from out of town. Peterson's was suggested. We went for dinner on Thursday night, and had excellent service, wonderful food; I had the pan seared tuna, while my friend had the crabcakes. Both of us were extremely happy with the meal. The ambiance is cozy elegance, and was pretty busy for 8 pm. The prices are upscale, but would definitely suggest this for a special occasion! read more

My wife and I had our anniversary dinner there (#7). Just like any other establishment like this everyone was friendly and the services was top notch. I did feel it took a few for the waiter to greet us for as little as a crowd as they had. A representative came out and took our picture for the "event" after we were seated at the table which the wife thought was cool. The atmosphere was quiet and cozy. We had a few drinks a Red Melbac wine for my wife and the traditional Long Island for myself. Prime rib eggrolls before dinner. Pretty tasty, could have order several more of those and made that my meal. My wife got the Local Artisan salad and I had the Wedge. Adding bacon chuncks and blue cheese was extra which I thought was a bit weird because that is included at all other resteraunts but whatever. In 10 years of being with my wife it is the first time I have ever seen her eat the whole thing. We both had Center Cut Filet. My wife had the 8oz and myself the 14oz. Could cut them with a fork. For our sides we got the carrots which had a Kentucky bourbon and apple cider glaze and Au Gratin Potatoes. We finished up with the triple chocolate cake. Very rich and it was big enough for 4 people of course. I could have used a glass of milk with that baby. Peterson is now my wife #1 place of choice. It is probably in my top 5 for the Indianapolis area but still needs a little tweeks to get to #1 or #2 for me! The wife like it so we will definitely be back again. read more
