Found an amazing breakfast spot on our trip! The staff was very friendly and the food came out super fast. The portions were generous and everything looked and smelled great -- but the taste was even better. I'm not usually a big fan of breakfast burritos, but the pictures looked so good that I tried the wet burrito. It was huge and packed with meat, and I still finished the whole thing! Their home fries were perfectly crispy!!! I loved them. I definitely want to come back again, even though it's far from my town.

What a hidden gem. Came on a Tuesday afternoon with 1 hour left before closing. Ordered the chorizo omelette, one blueberry pancake, one chocolate chip pancake, and half a grilled cheese sandwich with potatoes. Chorizo omelette was hearty and not oily. Came with refried pinto beans and potatoes. Pancakes were fluffy, flavorful, not dry at all. Grill cheese also was toasted well and had a good quantity of cheese. Potatoes were the best part because it's crisp, yet not mushy nor soggy. Workers also are welcoming and served us with a big smile. Hopefully will stop by again if we're here.

This place just wasn't for me. I think it reels a lot of customers in having had guy fieri in there before. The ambiance is too much for me personally. It's past kitschy and onto campy. The decor is crowded and not cohesive. It feels cluttered. The tables are and walls and seats are sticky even when clean. It just all seemed a bit...dingy. They had that fun little peg game to play to keep you busy but half of them are missing pieces and they are also really dirty. We ordered hot chocolate (yum) and some basic breakfast items. My husband really liked his items. He said he would give his at least a 4 stars, but this is my yelp review lol. My food was very bland and not flavorful. I could have made the same thing at home. I don't mind spending money. In fact, I love going out to a good breakfast, but it has to be a good breakfast. If it's subpar it's really a waste of money and calories for me and that what I feel this experience was. I think I got "crunchy" French toast and it had mildly soggy corn Flakes on it. The idea was fun but the execution wasn't great. My husband simply ordered meat, eggs and potatoes. It was okay, nothing to write home about. Take what I say with a grain of salt and maybe try it for yourself. It could have been an off day for the kitchen or staff? Personally I don't think I will be back or recommend but I can tell you there were clearly regulars here that day and they do have quite a reputation so at some point they have done something right.

Been here 3 times now and finally decided to write a review. I had the Corned Beef Hash the first time since it was highly recommended and it was delicious! When it came to the choice of biscuit or toast, I tried biscuit the first time and it was very soft and warm but the jam and cream didn't go too well with the biscuit. I got the Chile Verde Omelette the second time and I didn't particularly like it too much. I did like the toast with the jam and cream this time! The third time I came back for the Corned Beef Hash and turns out the biscuit comes with gravy if you ask for it! The Biscuit with Gravy was heavenly! I do feel like the beef this time was a bit overcooked to my liking compared to my first experience but hopefully it isn't a consistent issue.

Me and my Dad went there for breakfast one day and it was amazing. The service was exceptional the food came out fast and it was amazing. I had gotten the waffle combo and it was great it was gone. My favorite part was the signs they had they were hysterical.

Local breakfast brunch restaurant that's dog friendly with a beautiful outdoor patio seating. and serves some great brunch food! Servers were really attentive and helpful in choosing from their huge menu. They are known for their home made strawberry jam. And pancake roll! For drinks I got the iced tea which was pretty good but I highly recommend adding strawberry jam! I also got the pancake which was nice and fluffy but wasn't life changing. Just good ol fashioned pancakes. The club sandwhich was pretty good nice toast and love the bacon. Pancake roll was soooo good. It is a pancake rolled up and covered in yogurt and fruits and nuts. So yummy. Perfect combo of textures flavors. Salmon taco special was good too. Big pieces of salmon. only thing is their potatoes are all kinda burnt... I didn't really touch that. decent salsa more on the fresh side and less acidic. Salad was pretty basic. Chicken wasn't too dry but wasn't the moistest. This is just your local diner basically. Note about parking. Left parking lot is not parking for Pete's. Go to the right. If there are no more spots, there's tons of street and residential parking.

My husband and I stopped in for a late breakfast on a Saturday morning. Not being locals, the small crowd of people standing outside was an indicator that this was the spot to go to. Despite the crowd, we didn't wait more than ten minutes before we were seated. Service was prompt and friendly. The food all smelled delicious. We tried: Burritos: Two simple breakfast burritos filled with choice of meat (bacon ftw), scrambled egg, and cheese. Topped with sour cream, avocado, and a mild pico de gallo, these were yummy though super basic. The beans that come on the side, however, are the unsung hero of this dish. Soooo rich and flavorful. Potatoes: Crispy, charred, and absolutely delicious. Pete's potato game is on it. Chile Verde omelette: My husband ordered this as it is subject to availability. The chile verde was tangy and super good, with tons of gooey cheese folded into the egg. It was devoured. Strawberry jam: Came with my husband's side of toast. It was super super sweet and SO good on the buttered sourdough. Warning: I have been craving it since we ate it. The food was generously portioned and heavy, which made it good fuel for a hike afterwards. Definitely recommend to anyone visiting town ahead of lots of activity, though I bet the full-bellied nap outcome could be nice too. Enjoy!

Best breakfast in Ventura County. The cheese omelet is paper thin and rolled on their flat top with cheese. The softest, cheesiest omlete ever. My husband loves their pancakes. There is something sweet in their mix, maybe vanilla. The pancakes are a little crispy on the outside and soft and delicious on the inside. This place is always busy and for good reason. We eat here every day when we are in town.

Such great food and the seating outside is perfect for us. Had a great time having breakfast while we head home after picking son from school for holidays. Service was quick and fresh. Food was delicious and warm, just what we need on a cold winter morning.

Petes club. Triple-decker with roasted turkey, bacon, cheddar and jack cheese, tomato, lettuce, and mayo on sourdough.

As a mom of two, this place has quickly become one of my go to spots. The food is always good, fresh, flavorful and reliable for a quick meal. The service is consistently fast and friendly, which is a lifesaver when you've got hungry little ones. I really love the cozy, Mom and pop atmosphere. It feels warm, personal and welcoming, like the kind of place where they actually remember you. And if you're looking for a sandwich that truly hits the spot try the Petes club, It's savory, satisfying and absolutely worth ordering every time.

Pete's Breakfast - Ventura Super charming little spot -- nothing fancy, just solid, comforting breakfast food. We sat outside, which I preferred since the inside felt a bit cramped and there were quite a few people waiting for tables. The patio seating was relaxed and perfect for enjoying the Ventura morning air. The kids loved their chocolate chip pancakes and French toast -- both came out fluffy and perfectly sweet. I had the Spanish omelet, which was hearty and flavorful, and my husband got the corned beef hash, which he really enjoyed. Service was friendly and efficient even with the crowd, and you can tell it's a well-loved local favorite. A great, laid-back breakfast spot we'll definitely return to next time we're in Ventura!

I love this place! Great food that leaves you full and makes your tummy smile. Super nice service. Home feeling. Outside or inside seating. I had their Working Person's plate (10/10) with eggs, bacon, potatoes and toast. Look at the hot chocolate my friend got! Wow! Stop on by.

While it's still aesthetic-ish, it feels like a European restaurant imitating an American cafe but less dialed in. A little more kitschy than cute. The food, sadly, was mid. I ordered my usual - known as the Caffe Breakfast here ($18). It comes with 2 eggs, your choice of protein (chicken sausage for me), potatoes, and ciabatta. It tasted like a regular ole hotel breakfast. The texture of the chicken sausage was crumbly which I didn't prefer and the eggs looked and tasted kind of limp. We also tried an omelette which was better, but not by much. On a more positive note, the line moves fast (esp since you're standing out in the sun).

Beach House Tacos (got grilled fish), nice pineapple salsa, tender fish, nice sauces and lettuce. Calamari Taco - fried calamari - fresh avocado and cabbage, nice sauce - chipotle. Marilu Taco with popcorn shrimp with nice chile lime crema, not too spicy. Even the fried seafood here is fresh, not very fried, just a tad, nice and crispy, but not greasy. After our initial drinks were delivered, no one came back to check on us or ask if we'd like another round, even though our table would have gladly ordered more drinks. We later noticed that gratuity had already been added to the bill. Whether or not that had anything to do with the service, the lack of attention was disappointing. I understand restaurants can get busy, especially on nights with live entertainment, and I'm usually very patient. But waiting over an hour for appetizers without ever having the opportunity to order dinner, combined with almost no follow-up from our server, isn't the level of service I expect when making a reservation in advance. The dueling pianos, the Brussels sprouts and shishito peppers, and the carne asada nachos were all highlights. I truly hope this was just an off night because the restaurant has the ingredients for a great experience. Unfortunately, the service kept us from enjoying it as much as we should have.
