Found an amazing breakfast spot on our trip! The staff was very friendly and the food came out super fast. The portions were generous and everything looked and smelled great -- but the taste was even better. I'm not usually a big fan of breakfast burritos, but the pictures looked so good that I tried the wet burrito. It was huge and packed with meat, and I still finished the whole thing! Their home fries were perfectly crispy!!! I loved them. I definitely want to come back again, even though it's far from my town.

What a hidden gem. Came on a Tuesday afternoon with 1 hour left before closing. Ordered the chorizo omelette, one blueberry pancake, one chocolate chip pancake, and half a grilled cheese sandwich with potatoes. Chorizo omelette was hearty and not oily. Came with refried pinto beans and potatoes. Pancakes were fluffy, flavorful, not dry at all. Grill cheese also was toasted well and had a good quantity of cheese. Potatoes were the best part because it's crisp, yet not mushy nor soggy. Workers also are welcoming and served us with a big smile. Hopefully will stop by again if we're here.

Been here 3 times now and finally decided to write a review. I had the Corned Beef Hash the first time since it was highly recommended and it was delicious! When it came to the choice of biscuit or toast, I tried biscuit the first time and it was very soft and warm but the jam and cream didn't go too well with the biscuit. I got the Chile Verde Omelette the second time and I didn't particularly like it too much. I did like the toast with the jam and cream this time! The third time I came back for the Corned Beef Hash and turns out the biscuit comes with gravy if you ask for it! The Biscuit with Gravy was heavenly! I do feel like the beef this time was a bit overcooked to my liking compared to my first experience but hopefully it isn't a consistent issue.

Fun mural in the backdrop. Ah, so many change makers featured - may they rest in peace & power.

Featuring friendly service and good bites all around, I've enjoyed this charming spot every time I've dined here. They have a nice outdoor patio, but be advised there are usually dogs, so if you prefer a "fluff-free" dining experience, opt for indoors, which stays nice and cool, even during warmer weather days. Also, extra points for the crunchy French toast I ordered on my last visit! A fun side note: even though I'm definitely more of an Anthony Bourdain fan (relating to his local, authentic) food critic style, Guy Fieri has featured this spot on his show & I can see why: the pancake roll deserves a highlight, for sure! Definitely something for everyone at this restaurant.

Local breakfast brunch restaurant that's dog friendly with a beautiful outdoor patio seating. and serves some great brunch food! Servers were really attentive and helpful in choosing from their huge menu. They are known for their home made strawberry jam. And pancake roll! For drinks I got the iced tea which was pretty good but I highly recommend adding strawberry jam! I also got the pancake which was nice and fluffy but wasn't life changing. Just good ol fashioned pancakes. The club sandwhich was pretty good nice toast and love the bacon. Pancake roll was soooo good. It is a pancake rolled up and covered in yogurt and fruits and nuts. So yummy. Perfect combo of textures flavors. Salmon taco special was good too. Big pieces of salmon. only thing is their potatoes are all kinda burnt... I didn't really touch that. decent salsa more on the fresh side and less acidic. Salad was pretty basic. Chicken wasn't too dry but wasn't the moistest. This is just your local diner basically. Note about parking. Left parking lot is not parking for Pete's. Go to the right. If there are no more spots, there's tons of street and residential parking.

Breakfast burritos, with a side of potatoes and beans. Chile Verde omelette in the back w/ potatoes.

My husband and I stopped in for a late breakfast on a Saturday morning. Not being locals, the small crowd of people standing outside was an indicator that this was the spot to go to. Despite the crowd, we didn't wait more than ten minutes before we were seated. Service was prompt and friendly. The food all smelled delicious. We tried: Burritos: Two simple breakfast burritos filled with choice of meat (bacon ftw), scrambled egg, and cheese. Topped with sour cream, avocado, and a mild pico de gallo, these were yummy though super basic. The beans that come on the side, however, are the unsung hero of this dish. Soooo rich and flavorful. Potatoes: Crispy, charred, and absolutely delicious. Pete's potato game is on it. Chile Verde omelette: My husband ordered this as it is subject to availability. The chile verde was tangy and super good, with tons of gooey cheese folded into the egg. It was devoured. Strawberry jam: Came with my husband's side of toast. It was super super sweet and SO good on the buttered sourdough. Warning: I have been craving it since we ate it. The food was generously portioned and heavy, which made it good fuel for a hike afterwards. Definitely recommend to anyone visiting town ahead of lots of activity, though I bet the full-bellied nap outcome could be nice too. Enjoy!

Such great food and the seating outside is perfect for us. Had a great time having breakfast while we head home after picking son from school for holidays. Service was quick and fresh. Food was delicious and warm, just what we need on a cold winter morning.

Petes club. Triple-decker with roasted turkey, bacon, cheddar and jack cheese, tomato, lettuce, and mayo on sourdough.

As a mom of two, this place has quickly become one of my go to spots. The food is always good, fresh, flavorful and reliable for a quick meal. The service is consistently fast and friendly, which is a lifesaver when you've got hungry little ones. I really love the cozy, Mom and pop atmosphere. It feels warm, personal and welcoming, like the kind of place where they actually remember you. And if you're looking for a sandwich that truly hits the spot try the Petes club, It's savory, satisfying and absolutely worth ordering every time.

Pete's Breakfast - Ventura Super charming little spot -- nothing fancy, just solid, comforting breakfast food. We sat outside, which I preferred since the inside felt a bit cramped and there were quite a few people waiting for tables. The patio seating was relaxed and perfect for enjoying the Ventura morning air. The kids loved their chocolate chip pancakes and French toast -- both came out fluffy and perfectly sweet. I had the Spanish omelet, which was hearty and flavorful, and my husband got the corned beef hash, which he really enjoyed. Service was friendly and efficient even with the crowd, and you can tell it's a well-loved local favorite. A great, laid-back breakfast spot we'll definitely return to next time we're in Ventura!

I love this place! Great food that leaves you full and makes your tummy smile. Super nice service. Home feeling. Outside or inside seating. I had their Working Person's plate (10/10) with eggs, bacon, potatoes and toast. Look at the hot chocolate my friend got! Wow! Stop on by.

My friend's family has been coming here for over 40 years; it is one of their favorite spots for breakfast in Ventura! The service was friendly and pretty prompt. The place is small, cozy diner, but they have since added a patio, which has a charming water fountain and lots of shade. I only tried one thing since we split the breakfast, but it was really good. The table next to has had lots of food that looked and they said tasted amazing! Great breakfast spot in Venture, will definitely be back!

I love this restaurant and also love that it has a dog friendly patio. The food was absolutely delicious with no complaints. We are a huge fan of their biscuits and homemade jam. The biscuits are warm and so fluffy yet firm. The jam is sweet and had real fruit pieces in it. You can definitely tell it's homemade. ALSO I highly recommend the cinnamon roll. The cinnamon roll is only available on the weekends I believe and we were so lucky because we got the last one! And OH MAN this was the BEST cinnamon roll I have ever eaten!!! Better than cinnabon for sure. The service was excellent and the servers offered a bowl of water for our dog too. And we loved that there were a lot of other dogs around in the patio. Great ambience and busy too.

I came here with two of my friends when we were up visiting Ventura, and this was a breakfast place one friend had mentioned we should visit. We had to wait for about 15 minutes, which passed by quickly as we spent the time at the video game second hand shop right across the street. We were promptly seated, and because of the business of the place it took some time to get our orders, which I don't blame them for. But boy oh boy were these food portions absolutely humongous. I ordered the breakfast burrito and could only polish off one of them - I especially enjoyed the sour cream and avocado slices provided. The potatoes and beans were also pretty good. Very standard but yummy fare. Overall, a solid breakfast option if you are in the area. Would highly recommend bringing an empty stomach or someone who can eat a lot, as I ended up giving my remaining burrito to my friend.

Once your seat is ready, you order at the counter and you get a number. The staff that took our order was awesome. Friendly, warm, high energy, and efficient. Our order came out in about 10-15 min. Water is self serve. Drip coffee- perfect and high quality. It tasted like Kona coffee! Lavender matcha- great and well balanced Japanese milk bread- this fell a tad short for me. I would've liked both sides to be seasoned/flavored. Japanese Milk bread is typically moist and fluffy , however this was a little dry likely due to the toasting of the bread. The color overall was lighter than expected. It's served with a berry sauce which is really yummy. Side of smashed potatoes- really good. Perfectly seasoned and ketchup tasted homemade Aussie meat pie- soooooo delicious! The crust was awesome and the meat was tender. We also loved the side salad because it had a little zing of lemon. A rare moment where a side salad is actually fantastic! Miso chicken katsu Sando- really loved this! The chicken breast is huge. As other reviews stated, it's not a typical chicken katsu. If you like honey, you'll like this. The honey sauce hits you on the front end and ends with a little acidity from the aioli and slaw. The sandwich was super juicy and flavorful. While large, it didn't feel heavy. Each bite got better and better. Brontë bowl - OUR FAVORITE!!!! Ok first off, I hate mushrooms with a passion, but I kept them in the order because they are curried and I knew theyre an essential part of the dish. They were awesome. I didn't mind them one bit. This dish does not need salmon, and if anything I think adding it would've been too salty. I naturally eat fast but this bowl makes you slow down because of the layers/elements. The sweetness of onions, the creaminess of the feta and avocado, the crunch from the seeds, the delicious pesto, the buttered bread, the perfectly poached eggs - UGH! So perfect! Everything had a purpose. I am obsessed with this bowl. It is so much more filling than you'd think. I could eat this everyday and I hope they never change it. Ambiance was great. We sat at the bar which felt spacious. The inside is gorgeous and just puts you in a good mood. The best thing about this place is the staff. Literally every single person we interacted with was amazing! Everyone here is friendly, warm, and just looks happy to be there. I can't wait to return!!!!!

It has that comfortable playful energy where you can sit down talk with someone enjoy your food and feel like you are part of a fun little world without any pressure at all. I did not expect it to feel that youthful and inviting but it absolutely did. One thing that stood out to me more than anything else was the garlic bread. Busy Bee Cafe is the only location I know that has garlic bread with a taste I genuinely love. I do not even know if they sell that exact garlic bread online and honestly that mystery makes it feel even more special. The flavor is warm buttery and rich in a way that hits you instantly. It is the kind of garlic bread that teenagers would enjoy a lot especially if they are hanging out with friends and looking for something comforting and delicious to share. It is rare to find something so simple that leaves such a strong impression. While I was there I noticed a lot of teenagers enjoying the space and it made perfect sense.
