I came here to explore around this area of the Seattle. I was super excited about trying this spot! The food looked great and the reviews as well. I saw hazelnut French toast and got sooo excited! I ask for scrambled hard eggs and semi crispy bacon! Every place is different I understand however I got my food where the French toast had not a single drop of hazelnut and tasted so bland! That right there is very disappointing to me! Not only am I paying more for a tasty treat (it's a social)! The treat wasn't good at all! I was very sad! Breakfast is one of my favorite meals on the world and I have to say I will not be back! The eggs weren't food at all, very bland, no flavor, I just was overall not happy with my meal! I think the Petes French toast was what my neighbors ordered and that looked delightful! I like crispy edges on my French toast and that is what I didn't get and I will know for the further. What i do have to say is the staff is amazing besides after I told them about the French toast, they were whispering and talking about the situation which I'm sure others will! Please know they offers to make me something else, but I was already thinking it's not worth it! The overall atmosphere is casual chill and relaxed which is what I needed before I started shopping! The neighborhood is great as well so I see how this is a little staple for people to come! Everything was great just my food (main reason to come) wasn't good at all to me! I really wanted to love this place but I can't first of all I was charged a dollar for Ranch, which is fine. I don't mind paying a whole dollar for something small as Jack-in-the-Box condiments is ridiculous maybe $.50 not a dollar. ordered the BLT which came on two pieces of white bread regular size bread so there should've been no reason that there was more bread than there was food. I barely had any lettuce. I had one small slice of tomato and maybe two strips of bacon and lots of bread left over. For the price I paid I was expecting to be full at the least. Side bote if you don't order directly through Pete's it's more money and I'm not talking about fees. read more

Walking into Pete's Eggnest immediately triggers sensory memories of thousands of great breakfast experiences. It's a small one room restaurant offering both table and counter service. Top 100 music from the early 2000's plays over an old stereo in the corner over the laughter and chatter of a very full dining room. The first thing I notice is how clean everything is. Everything in the space is newer and being well maintained. I knew I was in for a fantastic meal because the space is being maintained by people who genuinely care about the dining experience- a truly rare and special thing these days. The menu has an interesting assortment of Mediterranean, Mexican and American breakfast options. I opted for the Capicola Benedict from the Todays Specials Menu. Capicola, spinach, tomatoes, avocado and two poached eggs topped with feta and hollandaise. Wowza. Everything was absolutely delicious and my waitress, Basilia treated me like a relative in for a long overdue visit. Don't come with your child if you want unsolicited parenting advice on how to raise your child from a waitress. After being sat at the table my son was playing with the sugar packets. 5 minutes later, the waitress then comes over with a coloring sheet and some crayons and tells him not to play with the sugar packets, which is all fine but then proceeds to look at his dad and I and tells us we shouldn't let him do whatever he wants which made us feel highly uncomfortable. Food was decent. Pancakes have had better at ihop. The Elvis French toast is an actually must try. read more

Oh my god(s)!! I am so glad I chose this as our breakfast destination this morning! The service was great and the food was delicious. The man that greeted us at the door and gave us coffee was quite a character and full of amusing side comments. Most of the plates were so big that even a couple of the ~25 year old hungry men couldn't finish all their food. I also really liked the seasonal specials they had available. The list of omelettes and scrambles was so long that I didn't even dare venture down that path of choices.... On the menu it recommended calling ahead with orders if you want to get faster service. It definitely didn't take too long to get the food, however, so that wasn't an issue. Oh and I'm pretty sure the "tomato juice" was actually (spicy?) V-8, but.... that's okay. This time. I think next time I'll just go for coffee or just stick to water. The extra bonus was looking up and seeing fellow Yelper Izzy and her fellow walking in the door! Delicious breakfast spot in Phinney ridge! We easily got a table around 10am on a Sunday for 3 people. They have a really big menu to choose from as well. I usually do not do reviews off one visit. But there is always an exception to that. The waitress on this day was amazing. She was the only on doing all the dinning area duties. Seating, taking orders, assisting with take out orders, busing tables, sanitizing tables, keeping up everyone's coffee refills & of course bring out the food. This day they seemed busy for dine in & take out orders. All tables were filled since there is capacity limitations right now social distancing was enforced as best they could in a smaller space. Face mask required upon entry & around restaurant. Our order was taken quickly the food was amazing & the service was spot on. I travel to Seattle area monthly for work. I usually do not do breakfast in restaurant type settings on these trips. I can say moving forward I will be visiting this restaurant at least one day on my trips. This was literally the best breakfast that I have ever eaten!! I had the Athenian Greek Scramble and my friend had the eggs Benedict made with their cheddar biscuits. Not a single bite was less than amazing! We came in on a Thursday morning and were seated immediately, food came out within 15 minutes of us ordering, and they kept our coffee cups full. I have not one complaint about Pete's Egg Nest and will definitely be making this a priority stop every time I'm in Seattle! read more

This is a quaint little restaurant located in a quiet neighbourhood in Seattle and the owner sure knows how to keep his customers coming. As the number of customer grew waiting outside for a table, the owner served orange juice to them while they waited. We got seated within 10mins. The portion was above average - most breakfast plates came with 3 eggs instead two. I ordered the eggs benny - my fav! It was quite good - 3 eggs was one too many for me though. Couldn't finish! My husband ordered chicken steak and gravy - not their best!!! The chicken was like a minced meat type instead of a whole piece. The turnover is very fast - I can tell a lot the customers are usual customers - the owner seems to know a lot of them. I give it 4 stars for service for sure! I went here for a Sunday brunch. There was a long wait, which is always a good sign. The interior is pretty basic with tables pretty close together (to help fit in more diners). It has a really good atmosphere. Because it was so crowded, service was kind of slow. They got the menu and drink out quickly, but food took quite a while. I had an orange mimosa and the eggs benedict. The mimosa was nice, but the food was outstanding. The eggs benedict was excellent with a great hollandaise sauce. I really loved the hash browns--they were absolutely delicious, cooked just perfect. Pete's Egg Nest is definitely worth a visit. read more

Pete's really messed up Father's Day brunch in a big way. I placed an order through DoorDash at 10am for delivery at noon. They accepted and a driver was despatched. Once the Dasher got there, the restaurant told them they don't work with doordash, they won't make our order or give him our food. This restaurant had 2 hours to properly cancel our order and notify us, so we could at least ordered from another place or made alternate plans. Instead, they waited for the absolute last moment to inform us they weren't making the order. Do not order delivery from here, as there is no way of knowing if they will make your order or not. read more

When you're here you're family. Some other restaurant said that, but at Pete's, it's actually true. My wife and I came here for the first time, and really loved the friendly vibe of the place. The staff was great and would talk with the diners like old friends. It felt like those classic diners you see in the movies. The food here was amazing. My wife had the lemon ricotta pancakes with fruit, which looked as great as they tasted. I went with one of their specials, a scramble with peppers and beef brisket - YUM. They had a few different mimosa choices as well. We didn't try them this time, but next time it's a must! We definitely plan on coming back to Pete's for more breakfasts in the near future. read more

This place is awesome, and it gets crowded on weekends after 10am (30 min wait or longer). The prices are reasonable, the food is flavorful and generous and the waitstaff is so attentive. The restaurant itself is a little small and obviously you need to find street parking but it's really not bad at all. One of my favorite breakfast places in Seattle. read more

Great place for Sunday brunch! I ordered coffee and the migas scramble for breakfast and my fiance ordered the patty melt for lunch. Food was good and plentiful! The place was packed! Staff was nice but even though we sat at the bar top service was a bit slow so asking for condiments after receiving our food was not ideal. Overall was good though, I'd try it again. read more

This place has got a great homey vibe. The food is amazing and portions are huge! First off, I gotta give a hats off to their customer service. The first time I came to Pete's there was a huge line, and there was a bunch of people were waiting outside in the cold. The staff could have just kept on working without any regard to people waiting, but instead two of the staff members came out and starting serving complimentary orange juice and coffee while we waited! It was a small gesture but when you're out in the cold, hungry, and watching a whole diner enjoy a massive plate of food behind the glass in a warm room, it really helps get you mind off the agony. Lol Once you're in, the staff is super friendly and really make you feel at home. One group in the corner had a couple kids at the table and after greeting the family, Pete went to the back and started lowering a toy spider up and down that he had previously rigged from the ceiling just to entertain the kids! Call me old fashion, but it's pretty awesome to see a diner full of people where both the staff and guests are having a great time! The service is pretty quick, considering that it's always a full house and the food is amazing. If your looking for a simple, healthy Seattlelite meal this is probably not the place for you. Just stopped there for the first time and I'm impressed. Small and loud inside, but filled with people, always a good sign. I had biscuits and gravy, with bacon and sausage links. It was all great with the gravy being some of the best I've had. Server was very friendly and while I did not get checked on often, I asked to sit in one of the 2 tables outside so no big deal. The service and servers are incredibly bad in this place. We come here very regularly and they charged us double coffee today. I asked them why and they told me we were sharing. I told them not. We have a toddler and we don't have much space in the table so we keep coffee away from him. So coffee was only sometimes next to me. I talked to servers and they kept saying we were sharing. As a family coming to their place very regularly, do they think we really lie for $3? She kept saying I saw you were sharing. We were very insulted and will never visit it again. read more

I have been going to Pete's for years. Mainly because of the original owners who are now no longer there. THEY WERE FANTASTIC and the reason we went. Its still essentially the same but I've noticed the prices creeping up more and more. I would rather pay that kind of price for a dinner out than a casual breakfast spot. I am not sure I agree with an earlier post with "value for your money" its getting too expensive for a local neighborhood lovely breakfast place. I am sure like others they having been going to Pete's for years, and that was when Pete and his amazing wife ran it. That was the Pete's we all fell in love with.
