Our family goto for easy affordable fish & and chips throughout the phoenix area. The monster burger is the bomb. Gotta have the fries too

solid meal--had chicken sandwich which was tasty-skinny fries too and 32 oz --hard to beat the price for $10? great customer service too. 9 locations on valley and only in AZ!

Burritos, Corndogs, Chicken, and Fish. All put in the fridge and will be recooked the fallowing day.

They save the food they don't sell at night and serve it when they first open, which is against food regulation!!! So if you want Fish and Shrimp recooked come to this place but be careful the GM is irresponsible and does not care about health code. How do I know this? I worked their for two years and it's just awful. The manager NEVER told the workers to wash hands when they first came in. So if you like your food made with messy hands and no gloves go for it.

What a night...had to drive back to return my order...or should I say some other unlucky persons order!

Pete's has been one of my favorite places to grab a fast meal on a budget...n tastes good! However, as far back as I remember Pete's has been notorious for getting the order wrong and even though I have made it a must to check before driving off...today I didn't. Don't you just hate getting home after building anticipation with the hot frie aroma...then you sit down unbutton your jacket and prepare yourself to enjoy your meal....WHAT!!! I didn't order shrimp and chicken nuggets?? Yup, we drove back, had to wait, and still had to pay for the order again. Yes, the lady said "can't give you free food" naturally I replied that's fine just give me the correct food order! I am very dissatisfied and disappointed with Pete's on Buckeye Road and do not hold them on favorite places list anymore. A message to Pete's owners...when you deliver the wrong order and inconvenience the customer to drive back, wait all over again and then charge extra...you should bite the cost and refund the money! After all it was your mistake. As a paying customer, my time and fuel are NOT free either. Great food...just poor customer service.

Every now and then you've got to get your Omega-3 fatty acids, so there's your rationalization for chowin' down on some righteous deep-fried fish and chips at Pete's! I'm not a huge french fry nut, but there are some things that just go together... like peanut butter & jelly, gin & tonic, Tigger & Pooh. I started my descent into addiction for Pete's Fish & Chips by ordering the Combo #2: Super Seafood Combo, and I have not deviated from it since. It's perfect... 2 pieces of fish (square), 7 pieces of shrimp (and these appear to be butterflied longitudinally, so they make an impressive fried shrimp "stick" perfect for dipping), 3 cups of Pete's Sauce and a 32-oz. fountain drink. You don't think you will need three 2-oz. cups of the red sauce, but once you start dippin', you will understand the dark appeal of Pete's sauce chemical dependence. My best guess is that Pete's sauce is ketchup + vinegar + sriracha, but what I indeed know is that it is addictive. I actually like to double-dip in tartar sauce and then Pete's sauce (tartar costs extra). I don't know if that makes me a double-dippin' freak or if I am the member of an as-yet unidentified Pete's patron subculture. If you haven't gotten your fishy-fish on at Pete's and you want to know what all of the underground hype is all about, you gots to get over here and sample the goods. The batter is crispy and delicious every time, and you will be surprised at how much traffic pours through this side-of-the-road parking lot/food court. Judging from the sheer volume of customers (and at a cash-only place, at that) they must be doing something right!

Location is random but the food was delicious. The cashier was nice and welcoming. They do have tartar sauce in 2oz. rather than ordering 5 Oz. (Some locations only have the 5oz). Just be careful because it does come to-go on a plate rather than a box.

    Outside.

I'm a super proud Phoenician and have been to Pete's many times and to different Pete's locations. The whole neighborhood shows up to Pete's. For what they serve and what it is, a fish and chips restaurant, it is a solid option. The chicken, fish, shrimp, fries, Pete's sauce, etc..it's all solid. It's not everyone's top priority when thinking of what to eat, but the people always keep coming back!

When you walk in there is a large photo of a Mafia guy--definitely sticks with the theme of this place. There is a small dining room with a huge photo of their food truck, where it all started in Chicago. There is also a cute neon "gangster." We ordered an American Burger, a Shroom Burger, and a Big Mack salad (chopped lettuce dressed with thousand Island, topped with two hamburger patties, cheese, pickle, and sesame seeds). We really liked the burgers and salad a lot. The buns are so good. We got fries, and they were nothing to write home about. Drinks are sold in the can, and there is a big variety to choose from. The menu here is quite large and there is plenty to choose from, no matter what you're in the mood for. FYI--they win 2025 Best of The Valley!

I could honestly see that it could be difficult to find a parking on weekdays at lunch time! Walked in not knowing what to expect, the young gentlemen who came out was very kind and helpful, knowledgeable the food. We asked what the most popular meal was and he suggested the spicy gangster cheeses burger and fries. The place is cool when you walk in and see the Godfather picture with all the other burger places bowing down to him! I will say The taste was there, food was good burger was tasty for sure! But the "Godfather" would not eat here! The ambiance and presentation were not quite there for us. Honestly I felt out of place after we ordered and turned he corner, there were hardly no tables to open and the people sitting in the tables with the pull out chairs were blocking the booths to sit in, they were watching a basketball game that was literally from 2017!! I think it was a group of the employees or their friends maybe, that's just how it seemed to us. That was a little disappointing. I honestly would not make the drive to go here again.

It's definitely a spot that catches your eye and makes for a cute dining experience. The service was good and everyone was friendly. We also ordered the jambalaya, and while the flavors were decent, it was on the drier side and didn't quite have the rich, saucy consistency I was hoping for. Overall, the food was okay, but I think the atmosphere is what really makes Welcome Diner stand out. I'd definitely come back to enjoy the cute retro vibes and try a few other things on the menu. Sometimes the setting is just as much a part of the experience as the food, and this place definitely has personality. Cute atmosphere, good service, and a fun vibe. The only reason I didn't give this updated review a 5-I ordered the banh mi sando and the sandwich was so dry. Chicken was dry. The cilantro wasn't chopped I had to pick out long stems. Also I got the AZ frosè and the rosemary syrup was just way too pungent to enjoy the whole beverage. I wished it had been more balanced. Especially when the French fries are heavily seasoned with rosemary--a bit too much.
