Came in for the first time with my bf and his dad. The burgers where good (maybe a little more rare than I like tho and we ordered medium rare). The appetizer fried shrimp where a good value and I enjoyed them. The bartender was super friendly and nice. The cheese curds were delicious. I love dive bars and I've read so much about Pete's Garage on Yelp. Now if you live in your Green Bay, this is not the bicycle shop. This is the king of dive bars in Oshkosh! It fits the dive bar persona, being dark, TVs playing the sportsball games, and filled with locals. The name fits the car theme as there are license plates stuck to the ceiling, and creative names like the Gas Cap Burger, or the Road Rage chicken sandwich. There are rules at Pete's Garage. If you sit at a table away from the bar, it's taped right in the middle of the table. If you don't read the rules and complain later, they won't feel bad for you. Basically it says there are no servers, you want something go to the bar. Be ready to pay attention as they will yell your name and food order when it's done. I like this a lot because some restaurants make you wonder and guess on what to do. It's straight up here. I got the Transmission burger (a burger with guacamole), plus an order of cheese curds. For a having a little kitchen (right behind the bar), their food is fantastic. I remember reading another review saying they have the best curds. Yeah, these cheese curds are near best of the best in the world of cheese curds. Next time I need a tune up, I'm going to Pete's Garage. read more

Fills up fast! If you don't go early you won't get a seat. Definitely a dive bar with attitude. Everything is garage themed, including the name of their menu items. Burgers here are an Oshkosh staple - greasy and cheap and always served in a relaxed atmosphere. read more

Why haven't you been here yet? I tell most of my clients to stop in to try the BEST burger in winnebago! They have AWESOME drink specials every day of the week. Inexpensive mouth watering food. Went there with a group of 12. First called to make sure they were ok with a party that big and had room for it and they answered with "housekeeping!" Was a good laugh. Terrible experience. I will make it a point to inform people around campus never to go there!!!!! The staff is extremely rude and will discriminate against any young adult and kick them out. The staff even told me that a guy sitting at the bar was a cop and then once I threatened to call the REAL cops they gave my ID back because they clearly knew it was real. The bartender is lacking a majority of her brain cells so beware of poor, judgmental, delusional behavior. read more

Omg on vacation with my son stopped for gas on way back from Green Bay and looked for place to eat. This popped up and off we went. The place was hopping the food was fantastic and the beer selection was good and cold. We had a chicken sandwich and rib eye sandwich with fries. Everything was cooked to perfection and the prices were fantastic. I've been to places that charged 3 times the price and couldn't cook fries properly. We heard rumor this was a good place for bar food and that turned out to be an understatement. We had to park a block away from this unassuming old school neighborhood bar. We entered at about 3 in the afternoon on a Saturday to a full bar and tables. Having drove from green bay area we waited a few and got a spot at the bar. They have a good selection of craft and regular beers and great prices. We ordered wings...huge and plenty, cheese curds and one of the best burgers out there. Not entirely familiar with the Oshkosh area, we left it up to Yelp to find a place we could stop and have supper, not pay out of our nose for the food and it be quality food. My husband and my 19 year old son left it up to me to find a place after there was an hour and a half wait at their go to dinner place. I said, over 200 reviews and it manages 4.5 stars, we gotta try this place. We found the establishment, nothing fancy ..... went to the door, thought maybe we were in the wrong place but sure thing, this was it. Once we were acclimated to the atmosphere it was very easy to see why people loved this place. There was a letter taped to the tables stating they have no wait staff which is why they are able to offer such reasonably priced food. The food was amazing. We will definitely go again. Don't even attempt to go if you don't have a sense of humor. Not for the easily butt hurt individuals. Pete even offers an eating challenge, if you are one of a handful of people that have conquered it, you receive a shirt that says, "I beat Pete's meat!"
