Nom nom nom Chef Special done two ways!

Went here for the first time for breakfast during lunch. First and foremost, shout out to chef Justin and our server Kaylee (spelling?). Breakfast was phenomenal with healthy portions! From the biscuits and gravy, to the crispy bacon, to the absolutely delicious and perfectly cooked home style potatoes, all amazing. However, the pancakes! The pancakes were some of the best of the pancakes I've had! They were lightly crunchy on the outside and fluffy in the center. Needless to say I over ate because I could not stop eating the pancakes!! Kaylee was an absolute delight and made everything that much better. We felt welcomed, she was funny, and took great care of us with regular check ins. There's some construction out front, but don't let this discourage you. We took the back streets and avoided Colfax. This is a cute diner with a lot of history and charm! I will definitely be coming back and highly recommend this diner!

We came here to check out this iconic restaurant and it did not disappoint. It was crowded but we did not wait to be seated. The turnover is pretty quick as the servers are racing around. They are busy and quick but friendly. The vibe is great. Old school diner comfort food. Huge portions and delicious food.

When we travel we always like to stop and eat at local places and this place was great! Great homemade food!

Excellent grilled trout. Came with real mashed potatoes and canned veggies..lol I witnessed a beautiful act of kindness: A homeless man came in and asked for a cup of coffee. The owner gave him a cup of coffee and handed him the sugar, which he kept pouring into his coffee! The owner/manager didn't yell for him to leave. He treated him like a human being, because he is!

Came in here on a chilly Monday afternoon on our way to the airport. While they were once open 24 hours always, that is now reserved for Friday and Saturdays. This was certainly a no frills restaurant that had been around for a minute. Our group was seated in what appears to be a converted patio on mismatched chairs. Service was prompt and we all mainly ordered soups and sandwiches. I got the lemon chicken soup and a Reuben with fries. Both were awesome, diner style. Prices were pretty decent as well. Would recommend if you're looking for a homey feel in Denver!

Dine in comfort food that taste amazing! Gyro meat is the way to go as it taste so flavorful and tender. The fries are cooked to perfection! Crispy but not overly greasy or salty. Definitely a must if you're grabbing a lunch or late night meal. The atmosphere is awesome and service is great!

This is a standby that has simple delicious food with affordable prices. The interior is decorated with booths and a counter where you can view the cooks. There was outdoor dining as well. The parking in the back is small though. Waitress was nice and friendly and greeted us with a smile. I ate the veggie gyro with a side of crispy fries while my friend had the fish and chips meal. It's a restaurant that can be counted on for good food and good service.

Super solid breakfast option in Denver. Very friendly service and all food came out in a timely manner. Had the chicken fried steak and eggs and a stack of pancakes. All of recommend.

A classic diner that hits the spot! We came to Pete's Kitchen for breakfast on a Saturday morning. It was full, but it was clear that this classic diner has a following and rightfully so, they have kept that classic diner feel, the food is on point, and the serves is fast and friendly. We sat at the counter in order to be seated immediately but they churr people in and out so, the wait would not have been long for a table. It was also fun to chat with the cook, who informed us he had been working there for 18 years and clearly still loving what he does. I got a classic breakfast of two eggs, hash, ham, and it came with pancakes that the four of split because they are very very large! Everything was cooked well except for the potato's, they could have been a bit crispier for me. You can ask for extra crispy, since my friend did for her bacon. You will need to salt and pepper unless you order something with a sauce like the breakfast burrito which was not too spicy (I can't handle a lot of spicy). The pancakes were by far the best item. Fluffy, large, and took me back to the past with every bite. I can't wait to go back and try a lunch item, I saw a ton of sandwiches being ordered while I was there for 45 minutes.

A staple diner in the community for decades but take it for granted that I never stopped to give them their flowers . Service is fantastic even at 1am . Music is always on point and the food is delicious . If you are in the mood for breakfast, lunch, dinner or looking for a good place after a concert this is a great place for anyone and everyone ! Their Philly Cheesesteaks, Gyro's , French dip sandwiches are to die for and I had their chicken fried chicken with well done hash browns that always hits . Check it out !

I was excited to try after watching a documentary on the Somm channel about that specific winemaker. The wine was delicious. Additionally, I was so happy to see small boutique wine from the Santa Barbara area like Amevive and A Tribute to Grace. Our server Yvonne guided our menu choices thoughtfully and enhanced our experience with excellent service. We started with watermelon feta salad with baby cilantro, walnuts, and harissa oil. The watermelon was cool, sweet, and crisp and the flavors balanced perfectly. If you are a pickle lover you must get the pickles. I think I will be dreaming of them. The pickled cabbage, okra, califlower and snap peas were just the best! The pitas were puffy, but not hollow, and warm. There was also an olive oil dipping sauce that complemented everything. Star of the show for me was the forgaged mushrooms and hummus. These were the most delicious mushrooms and snoothest hummus I have ever experienced, and I think there might be magicians in the kitchen. Our other dishes were cabbage and eggplant. Both taste explosions, done masterfully with a sauce, color and texture. This food is truly incredible, highly recommend. I am in Denver for work, anytime I travel back to Denver I will for sure return to Safta.

The interior is charming with a slim upper level row of tables. The food! Oh my! Some of the best food I've had eating out for a long time! I'm so glad I chose the combination plate which gave me the choice of 3 entree portions and soup or salad. I had the soup avogolemono and spanakopita, moussaka, and chicken souvlaki over rice. (Sorry if I spelled these wrong) All three were divine! The seasoning each one was complex and so flavorful. These chefs know how to cook great food! The only thing that was a bit uncomfortable, is that the restaurant was really hot! I ordered a dessert that was described as similar to a flan. I was expecting something cold, but it was hot out of the oven! So it came home with me and I will chill it before finishing. It didn't occur to me that it could be a warm dessert. It was a very tasty rich, thick custard with a lite creamy sauce sprinkled with cinnamon. My overall experience was fantastic due to the delicious food and friendly staff. My server was extremely attentive- I regret that I don't recall his name as I'm writing this, but I'm sure it can be figured out! He said he's worked with the family for around 20 years. I was shocked by how large the platter was. It was piled high with the most delicious gyro & other meets, veggies, salad, feta, and olives. the platter came with more tzatziki and pita and a delicious and light dressing. We had more than enough for ourselves for dinner & another meal! We ended with dessert: One baklava and one bougatsa. The baklava was delicious, but the bougatsa stole the show. It's like a filled funnel cake - how could you not love!! Our server Francisco was so attentive and enjoyable. He was personable, warm and welcoming. I won't say which, but boy, was it a letdown. The falafel were like little hockey pucks and the pita were like cardboard, flat and stale-tasting. I didn't think you could screw up pita. Only the hummus was passable. All this to say that I have been SPOILED by moving within walking distance of the Byblos in Alamo Placita, which is where a little taco place used to be. It's in a sweet little spot with patio seating on the corner of 4th and Corona, but the draw is really the food. I can't vouch for the meat dishes as a vegan, but WOW is their pita soft, fresh and flavorful, and they replenish it readily. Their hummus is excellent, their baba ghanoush is the best I've had since leaving the greater Boston area (with its abundance of outstanding ethnic restaurants) and the eggplant moussaka is fantastic. Plus they put this fully vegan cream dressing on the garden salad that is out of this world. Byblos has completely ruined me for a lot of other restaurants.
