Pete's has my favorite pizza ever and the staff is awesome! This is a great place to go to if you live in the area.

I was recommend to try this pie because I love thin crust from time to time. It reminded me of another pizza in st Paul (red savoy) the major difference is that Pete's has a sweet sauce where as savoy has a spicy/garlicky sauce. Great thin crust pizza. Been ordering from here my entire 24 years of existence I've lived down the street most of my life, but when I moved out of the neighborhood they delivered to me anyways because they knew who I was. I always thought that maybe it was just good because I grew up on it but after trying other pizza places I came to realize that it really is a superior pizza joint. I've had select items from their menu that isn't pizza over the years and it's all pretty good as well, but I would say stick to the pizza and appetizers if you're looking for a good Italian restaurant there are plenty more to choose from but please give the pizza a try. read more

This is the best pizza with great staff! I grew up in this neighborhood and always ate their food! When I moved out of state I could not find any place that compared to Pete's Pizza #2. Every time I am in town I always go with my family and friends to eat here. Not only is the pizza the best but they have great pasta dishes too. I had both last week while in town. The new remodel looks great and the server was very friendly. The best part aside from the food was that several employees walked up to our table to see how our food was! Really yummy thin crust pizza. I always assumed the original petes pizza on western was top dog since they seem to be larger and people tend to know more about this place then petes #2. Wow i sure was surprised when i ate my pizza at there restaurant. flavor was so good, and so fresh. really good sauce also. I placed an order for pick up for the first time last week. I have some friends that live down the block and love pete's 2. I ordered a small pizza to taste it and I really loved the crust! I liked the pizza a lot, my husband didn't like the sauce and said it was bland. I also ordered a meatball sandwich and I will say I did not like it at all and gave it to my dog. It tasted like they dumped garlic powder on top, it even left a bad taste in my mouth. My husband had a beef sandwich and said it was ok, and that the hot peppers were good. I'm going to order again soon, I want to give them another chance because I did enjoy the pizza. Maybe the sandwiches are just ok, and the rest of the menu is outstanding. read more

Tried this a couple times now. Stick with the thin. Was very good. Second time tried ultra thin and pan. Very disappointed. Salads and antipasti were very good. Service is good and people are nice. If I go back I will get the regular thin which I would give closer to 5 stars. The pan I would struggle to give 1 star. 02/15/2013 - My fav is Barnaby's thin crust w/shrooms, onions, green pepper and sausage. It's almost like pizza on a saltine cracker. However I don't recommend for a family as it's not filling enough. I felt like indulging the day after Valentine's day and ordered the pan. Did I luck out! The mildly sweet tomatoes enhanced my ingredients flavors! I don't like to waste my calories on thecrust/ bread, but I indulged. I save the crust(s) now and drizzle olive oil and sea salt and save them for the finish. I count on my za being good if I see 2 $$ signs and I have the extra change inspite of the tip. This za was well worth the $$. I also ordered the fresh garlic as I'm getting china garlic at all the grocery stores that has no flavor anymore or the next day after taste that makes your morning coffee taste so good. I can't wait for my morning coffee to see if I get that nice night before garlic taste that enhances my morning coffee and starts the day off to a good start. Oh, and some nice mozzerlla cheeze was burried in the crust instead of an empty cavity of crust, it was a pleasant bonus. Their website has coupons. Place is decent, fresh. Sometimes you have to wait a bit for your order, but nothing crazy.

Loved the pizza and desert.tasty and not much greasy. Good service. Very nice staff. We waited a lot though.

Pete's Pizza #2 is finally expanding after all of these years!!! Right now they are working on the front of the restaurant so there is a temporary entrance to the right. From what I hear the finish product will be ready mid winter. And the best part - they are open during remodeling!!! We even dined in! The service was mediocre at best. The woman who seemed to be the boss with black curls had such an attitude and just sits at a table to greet her customers...very rude. Also the female manager was not so nice either and seemed to be lost when i walked in to pick up my food because i had to give my friends name twice because she must have forgot it on the way to grab my food...glad she cares about her paying customers. Luckily to somewhat save their service was a girl who rung me out and her name is sarah with blond hair i believe who was very nice. the place has good food but needs new management. read more

I'm sitting here while writing this! Extremely unacceptable service! 8min after being seated until someone came by with water and bread. About 12min after that our order was taken. I was about to walk out but my boys were hungry. 32min later our med pep pizza and kid size pasta arrived. Yes it's Friday but to me it wasn't that busy when we arrived. Someone went around asking how everything was and guess what ?? Didn't stop by our table . We were never asked once how everything was or if we needed anything . Since I was very young, this pizzeria has always been a family favorite to feed my 5 siblings and me. BUT.... I would give a higher rating if their service would improve. We love some things on the menu for sure - the cheddar cheese cubes, lasagna, sausage & peppers, pasta, etc... I think I've only had the pizza once, I like their other things instead. But their service is so completely off. The one waitress barely smiles when she interacts with you. In addition, like others have commented, getting service is difficult. We have had to wait for 10-15 minutes to get anyone to take care of us. One time, the owner (I think), came and took the order, even though the waitress had been walking around. They seem to have friends that come in who they like to socialize with. There are also several times when the waitresses, hostess, or other employees are sitting out in the dining room eating food. We haven't been back for several months now and not sure when we will. Oh yes, and the no refills on soda is ridiculous! The cheapest, most marked up thing in a restaurant, you could give free refills without hurting your bottom line. read more

Honestly one of the worse places I've been to eat. Ordered curly fries & this nasty appetizer that came with chicken tenders, cheese sticks, uncooked onion sticks? & rings. The "free" bread in the beginning was also stale. Watery sprite. It was just over all the WORST place I've ate at. The food literally looked like it all came from the frozen isle at Walmart.. We just moved into the neighborhood, and I was really excited for a pizza pub within walking distance. The interior is beautiful, service is friendly, but the food is disappointing. Spinach salad was decent. Pizza (thin crust, cheese and pepperoni) was tasteless. Sauce has no flavor, there was barely any cheese, and it was swimming in grease. Bummer!! Looks like others think the deep dish is good, but I can't see going back to Pete's with so many other options in the area. read more

Last night we order petes for delivery, like we have many times. The last few times the deep dish pizza has been soggy and the cheese isn't even on the pizza. This time we thought we'd try one more time and we won't be ordering from them anymore. We paid $45 for a large cheese deep dish and a small sausage deep dish. The cheese was so undercooked the ingredients fell off when you picked up a slice! And the sausage was extremely over cooked and almost burnt! Disappointed in the quality of their pizza lately! Usually we go to one of their competitors down the street, but they had communication problems this evening (didn't answer the phone), so we tried Pete's. Their thin crust pizza was tasty, and an ok value (but not $10 more tasty then their competitors). Maybe I'm thick about this, but... I don't want to pay extra to have olives substituted for peppers. Any pizza joint that is going to get me to call them first will have to allow substitutions (for free). The place that I usually call first is convenient, allows substitutions (olives for peppers), offers a free 12" pizza w/ every 18" special, (for under $30), and makes a pretty good pizza. On the down side, ordering from them is a gamble. about 1/3 of the time, the order is not correct. They make it right when you call back, but it would be nice to not have to call back. The pizza here is awesome, I've eaten here a number of times, the food, service, prices', and their delivery times have all been perfect. I have also dined in at their restaurant, it is very clean, romantic for first dates, very welcoming. The staff treated us like family and it seemed liked the food came rite away. I would recommend this restaurant, even leftovers, like the pizza, you can take it out of the fridge and eat it without warming it up, it tastes even better than when they first made it. The sauce and cheese is very unique that they use for their pizzas, I have never tasted any pizza that has had the same as this place does! And I have eaten a lot of pizza in my days! The chicken fettuccine Alfredo is also amazing, big pieces of chicken, the Alfredo sauce is so thick and creamy, the chicken Cesar salad was also very good. Fresh vegetables and seasonings. Great for the neighborhood, nicely remodeled clean restaurant with very friendly trained staff. The food was ok, and a little under-priced, wish they would charge more and improve the quality of the ingredients and the breads for the sandwiches to make it a better experience. I think the pizza is pretty good But thats it, However this is the first pizza place Ive ordered from that I had such a problem with a coupon! Its a free 1/2 litter,what is the big deal and seeing I was ordering every other weekend. Dont you want to make a customer happy so they keep coming back? La Villa is so great always friendly & the best Pizza in the area . In short I am a disabled 53 year old & the girls at Petes thought it was hilarious *they laughed alot at me via phone * that I had no way to know when the driver would be here with my food . They claimed his phone wasn't working & the girls demanded I wait for the driver outside in the cold & in the rain who knows how long while I already have a difficult time walking. They hung up on me. I called back & they laughed at me . I canceled my order. I will NEVER order from here or step foot into that unprofessional rude place ever. We had called hours in advance to make a reservation for a party of 12 people for my niece's 18th birthday. We placed an order for 3 appetizers to be brought out when we arrived and 3 pizzas for the table. After waiting for 30 minutes, the server asked if we were ready to order. We told her we had pre-ordered the food and she took our drink order. When she returned to the table, drinks were given to all the wrong people and another employee had to ask us what appetizers we ordered. After that, our server did not check on us again. At all. We were right in the middle of the restaurant and she never once asked if we needed anything or how anything was going. My mom had to get up and go to the bar for a refill after waiting for another drink. My sister asked our server 3 times for water and finally a busser came to refill her water. The young lady (busser) was the only one who was nice to us. I was especially upset because 18% gratuity was already added to the bill. I generally tip 20% even for bad service, but this was unlike anything I had ever had to deal with before. The manager tried to "rectify" the situation by giving us a 20$ gift card which we declined. I have ordered many times from Pete's 2, both thin and pan. The pizzas have always been pretty much ok. However, in the last month I have ordered pan pizzas twice, and I think they may be the best pizzas I've had. I even called the restaurant to give them a compliment. Pizzas were outstanding.
