Not happy with our experience here at all. The lady working behind the counter needs to learn a serious lesson in customer service. We went here a second time after having a pleasant first time with the two guys, and my god was it a drastic difference. The miserable lady is such a poor representative for the business I would seriously fire her if I were the owner, her poor attitude is so negative it's turning people away and caused me to write this review. The happy hour offer made us curious. We were hungry but not that much so figured we'd give the tacos a try. The only tacos offered under happy hour prices was the chicken. So plain. Tried their fish taco and much better. I can compare since I've had Ensenada tacos. Their guacamole was freshly made on the spot. Recommend it. Had the margaritas and for $6 it was decent. Terrible customer service! SUPER RUDE! They get the order wrong and when you call KINDLY with your complaint they say they feel threatened. They called the police on us for complaining. We never yelled. We never fussed. We had 6 orders and only one was wrong and they kept responding as if we wanted the WHOLE order refunded. Poor comprehension. Does anyone know why the police were called? And why is asking you to fix the tacos so intimidating??? They're the only ones open and their JACK ASSES because they know their in demand. This place was just around the corner from my hotel, and one of the restaurants with a kitchen open late so I had to try it. I've tried some of the other high rated restaurants on the island and I was disappointed. This place was one of the better restaurants that I tried. They have a good setup in a plaza with outdoor seating. I had a fish, chicken, and shrimp taco. This is only the second fish taco that I've like outside of Tijuana. The price really brings the stars of this spot down. It was almost $40 for a double bacon cheeseburger and asada fries. My girlfriend loved the asada fries(alcohol was speaking) but in my opinion they smelt and tasted like diarrhea. Way too overpriced the fries were like $18.....The double bacon cheeseburger was absolutely fire. The fries were very basic flavorless skinny fries. The thick onions with the bacon was exceptional. Pete's Plaza Cafe is pretty much the only choice on the island for late night food. I order the asada fries and they were really big and fully loaded. It was fresh and it tasted really good. The only down side here is the price. The Asada Fries were $17. If the price was more reasonable I would have given Pete's 4 stars. read more

They pull a bait and switch with a board advertising $1 tacos during happy hour. After you order they let you know that it only applies to chicken tacos, which are also smaller than the other tacos. Also, the sodas came up to $5 each, which was a lot more than any other place we ate at. The tables were clearly not washed between customers. We were three adults and a seven-year-old during memorial day weekend. We got off the boat and there was a cruise ship there so everything was very crowded. We had had good food at Pete's Plaza Café before many years ago. We ordered two breakfast burritos. A breakfast plate with scrambled eggs and hashbrowns and bacon. One iced tea, one Mamosa. Our bill came to $97. The burritos were smaller than any breakfast burritos I have ever seen and they came with nothing else but some salsa. I would've rather just handed them $30 to not feed me. I realize the pandemic has taken its toll on all of the restaurants on the island and I totally get the price hikes, but this was too much. After that everywhere we ate we shared an item before we ordered more everywhere we went. Super bad food for an absolutely ridiculous price. Run away. Horrible expierence. First day arrived during happy hour 20 minutes til happy hour over to be told we are closed for 20 minutes while people are seated and still eating. Day 2 walked by and got stared/dogged at by a shorter man with a short mohawk. Day three tried to charge full price during happy hour, insisted it was over with a sign less than 20 ft from view. We knew we had to eat here at least once during our trip because no one can beat $1 taco happy hour! It is from 3-7pm everyday (including weekends)! 5-stars for amazingly great price for okay tacos! I got the carne asada and it was okay. This place is in the middle of a park and it has plenty of seating and if you can't snag a spot, the park has many benches. This place is cool because of its centralized location and outdoor patio. We stopped in for $1 chicken tacos. The price was great, but the meat lacked flavor. My bottled Pacifico was ice cold and came with a lime. The best thing going on here was the super nice waitress. She was friendly and very accommodating. **Update- we stopped back by for a beer and again they were iced cold. My son wanted another chicken taco, and they made it HUGE. We were pleasantly surprised by that. The fries were standard. Hit the spot, but not amazing. The milkshake didn't have much flavor and was kinda watery. I attribute that to the quality of ice cream.
