A nice pick me up on my way to my doctors appt. Metered parking around, and enough seating if you're waiting for an appointment in the area. I ordered the hot bee Hive latte, less sweet with oat milk. Not bad! I enjoyed it, wasn't too sweet especially since I asked for it to be less sweet. It had an oat honey taste, too! Pretty good for a cold day. I liked how there was enough seating/tables for a small cafe, but I wouldn't go out of my way to go to this cafe.

I had an appointment at Sutter Health and popped in here for lunch. I enjoyed everything about my visit. The cafe has lots of natural light. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. I ordered their omelette, which comes with tomatoes and spinach, and I added mushrooms and avocado. Delicious! The mushrooms were oyster mushrooms, which I'm not a big fan of, but it still tasted great. It also comes with a side salad. I was very sad about my currently being in low carb mode as their pastries looked amazing. In addition to looking so tasty they were a bit larger than usual. Homemade, I'm guessing. Oh, and there is also outside seating.

Food is delicious and the service is incredible! I got the Rose Cardamom Latte and by partner got the Sandman Latte--both tasted amazing and weren't too sweet. Apparently they make all their syrups in house. We also got the biscuit breakfast sandwich and I highly recommend it. The sandwich also comes with a side of potatoes, a spring mix salad, and a really yummy spicy sauce on the side. The staff is incredibly friendly, and the place is very clean and put together. Personally love all the cow photos on the wall.

Visit #1: Although the Avocado Toast was decent. I don't think I would be back anytime soon. It was very basic and needed salt and pepper. Visit #2: This was the most confusing meal I've ever had.. My friend and I ordered a grilled cheese sandwich that was supposed to come with grilled onion. She got the "kids" version where it was only a sandwich and no salad. I got the regular version with a salad. The salad costed like $5 more. When we received our order it was SO CONFUSING and awful. Our sandwiches had no onions and both of us got a grilled cheese sandwich that wasn't even grilled or toasted. It was plain and the cheese was barely melted well. For me the salad was very small and had no dressing... There was only a small cup of guacamole... I had no idea what to do at this point.. we had already left.. Despite the nice staff, we will not be going back. The food was not good and coffee/drinks were just okay.

My time here was fairly pleasant; with nice ambiance and fast wifi making up for my iced Chai being too sweet. I really enjoyed the plethora of window-facing bar seating and decor! Would be interested in trying one of their smoothies another time if I'm nearby again another morning.

I wanted to like this place due to the high ratings, but it's a 3 due to the food. Came here for lunch today. It's on the corner. Cute little spot. Bar seating. Some outdoor seating too. The staff were friendly and no problems there at all. I ordered a breakfast wrap with potatoes. Totally not worth $15.44. It comes with eggs, black beans, and vegan sausage. It just didn't taste well at all to me. It was mushy and didn't have much flavor. I wasn't satisfied. The potatoes were kind of dry too. Maybeeeee I'd come back but I'd definitely have to get something else.

This is just a delightful little cafe. If I lived nearby, I'd totally make this my regular spot. The coffee is great, the food is delicious and reasonably priced and the service is kind and sweet. I had the breakfast wrap and it kept me full all day, but not weighing me down. I didn't eat the potatoes and the guy asked me if I wanted something else! Really great music in the background, big windows letting natural light in and just good vibes. A sweet little Oakland cafe. It's small, but cozy.

What a beautiful ambience, beautiful and relaxing chilling area. Came here for tea and macaroon, and sat down to charge my phone. However after a few minutes some guy walked in asking for free coffee, the staff greeted him with respect and offered a free latte and free croissant. Was amazing to see we still got beautiful souls in this world. Definitely would visit again. 5+++++++++ star! Was offered avocado toast after even though I insisted.. it was a 10/10! The most relaxing place I've been in a long while. Thank you petit cafe!

The place was quiet and had a calming atmosphere. Service was attentive and nice. I ordered the Yee Fu Won Ton Soup and Sesame Cold Noodles. My server made sure I understood that the Yee Fu Won Ton Soup had eggs in it. We discussed it's recipe, and she told me the dumplings have a tofu filling. The egg flower soup was perfect, and I could of enjoyed it without the won ton dumplings. The Sesame Cold Noodles were great. I was full from the won ton soup, but one taste of the Sesame Noodles made me want to keep eating it. The thick ropey noodles had a balanced savory taste of nuts, sesame, garlic, chili oil and vinegar. I had the idea of taking it home to finish it, but the dish seemed addictive. The great thing about being retired is that life slows down. I can take my time and enjoy my food. I definitely enjoyed my lunch at Laughing Buddha. I have been here so many times…read moreover the years and Nature Vegetarian always delivers on the taste, portion and satisfaction! The service and ambiance is pretty standard for a Chinese restaurant. Nothing to report here. Nature Veg offers plant-forward dishes as well as dishes with mock meat (mostly seitan and tofu, nothing crazy processed). Whatever you would typically order at a Chinese Restaurant you'd be able to order here and be pleasantly satisfied. I usually will randomly pick a noodle and rice dish + one vegetable main. Sorry no detailed reviews on the dishes here as everything I've tried has been great. I just move on to the next thing I haven't tried on the menu! We usually order extra to have leftovers.

Every dish we ordered had that rich, savory, "where's the meat?" flavor... but it's all vegetarian. The just made steamed buns came out soft, fluffy, and packed with flavor, with that slightly sweet and savory filling that hits immediately. Simple, but done right. The pan-fried dumplings had that perfect golden crisp on the outside and juicy filling inside. I kept reaching for "just one more"? Yeah... that good. And the standout for me? The sweet and sour "chicken." Crispy pieces coated in that glossy, tangy sauce with bell peppers and pineapple... it looked like your classic takeout dish and tasted just as satisfying. Everything came out fresh, hot, and well-seasoned. No bland bites anywhere. Service matched the food. Our waiter was friendly, attentive, and even suggested adjustments based on what was made fresh that day. He was not wrong! Parking is street parking on a one-way street in downtown Oakland, right on the edge of Chinatown. Pricing was very reasonable for the amount of food we got. We ordered multiple dishes, left full, had a doggy bag and felt like we got a great deal. 10/10 for the entire experience.

They are open again!!…read more I visited Millennium the day of the re-opening in June 2026. I was so happy to find out that the food is still among the best food I've eaten, vegan or not. The new concept is prix fixe dinners on the heated, covered patio, and à la carte inside for walk-ins. I ordered from the à la carte menu and it was awesome. So easy. So delicious. My table ordered the cascatelli pasta, smoky glazed tempeh, coriander & arborio crusted oyster mushroom, and for dessert the summer sundae and chocolate tart. We were sharing so I got a taste of everything. Just amazing. It tastes just as good as before but feels much more approachable and affordable with the new concept. And you can still get the fine dining experience if you want it. I can't wait to go back on a Tuesday to try the pizza. I've heard it described as the best vegan pizza in the Bay Area by people who know what good pizza is, and I can't wait to try it. All food is vegan, and almost everything is gluten free.

Oh Millennium....I hate to write this review as it pains my heart to know it will be my last time…read more You were one of the first restaurants I ever went to as a vegan when I first moved to San Francisco in 2012. Back then, it was located on the main floor of a hotel on Geary St. in the heart of Union Square, back when downtown SF was a bustling and busy epicenter of the most beautiful cities in the world. From there, I went back for all my special occasions: anniversaries, birthdays, celebrations. One day, the lease was up, and you found your new permanent home in Oakland. The vibes and atmosphere changed, but the food remained just as iconic. Unfortunately, it was now at least 1 hour commute for me by public transportation, so I stopped going consistently. Now, you are closing your doors after 30 years of serving your vegan community. Some say that it is another casualty of the decline of veganism. Some say that it was inevitable. But I say, give me a list of restaurants in the Bay Area that have survived 30+ years, even with a cross-bay relocation. And ESPECIALLY for a vegan restaurant. I call that a success. I went for the last time this week and ordered the 5-course chef's tasting menu PLUS 2 additional appetizers. As expected, everything was absolutely delicious. Those crusted fried mushroom appetizers are so divine. The BBQ Tempeh melted in your mouth. I will miss it all so. There have been too many times in recent years when my favorite vegan restaurant announces its closure, and I've been heartbroken one too many times. Wishing the staff of Millennium all the best and that this isn't the final chapter. I look forward to what Chef Eric Tucker and his team will do next, and we will be there to support you all when that happens.

My parents have come here plenty of times and I got to try it for the first time- so of course I had to get a taco plate to try various "proteins" and their rice & beans. Asada is hands down my favorite (and my dad's). They said they make it in house too! Bonus points for places that make their alternative meats. I also got their shrimp and tinga tacos. I didn't realize the shrimp was going to be battered and fried- so that was a bummer for me since I don't like fried food (I'll blame that on not eating meat so not knowing how an actual shrimp taco would be prepared). BUT the shrimp was tasty! Tinga (king oyster mushroom) was shredded so finely, so you couldn't really see the mushroom, but the flavor was there! 3/3 yummy tacos! Rice and beans were super super plain but prepared well. Rico Rico gives plastic bags to tear and squeeze of an avocado green sauce and a red salsa- both delicious. Outdoor seating is nice!

A hefty burrito bowl and a few pink tortillas to dig into it with, that is plant based Mexcellence. There are exactly zero seats in this establishment, which I'm fine with because most of the time I'm getting RRV off of DoorDash, and the rest of the time I'm taking it to my nearby home anyway. Don't expect to lounge around and soak up the atmosphere in here is what I'm telling you. That's fine. The lake is right there. I'm a somewhat new pescatarian who also seems to be getting more and more lactose intolerant as I age, so I'll happily eat vegan to avoid the perils of cheese and cream. I grew up in a Mexican-American household, and since a typical Mexican restaurant is so meat and dairy centric, I was worried I'd be forever relegated to shrimp and fish burritos sans dairy and porkless nopales forever if I needed a fix. I've come to enjoy RRVs plant based dairy and meat alternatives quite a bit. The cauliflower surprised me. It isn't wearing a cheeky wink wink nudge nudge meat costume, it's just straight up crispy (breaded?) cauliflower. Great in tacos. Now for the Rico Rico MVP, the green sauce. Some variant of the newly trendy (thanks for that Cheeseboard, sincerely, more green sauce is a great thing) but steadfast staple of taquerias and Mexican food grocery aisles forever, I've used leftover packets on anything from ramen to pizza. I'm guessing it's avocado/tomatillo/cilantro/lime based? Whatever it is, I want to buy it by the half gallon. Don't get me wrong, the red sauce is nice, but the green sauce elevates anything it touches. Like most takeout Mexican, service is fast and efficient, but like I mentioned, Rico Rico Vegano is a "both my wife and I worked a full day and are exhausted" staple meal so the service tends to be moot. I bet they're friendly to DoorDash drivers too. If any of this sounds good to you but you wish they served meat and dairy...you're in for a pleasant discovery. Rico Rico Taco is around the corner, they even have seating. Same high quality food, for the carnivorous palate.

Its vibrant presentation and fragrant aroma made it as enjoyable to admire as it was to drink. Equally impressive was the Y El Hombre Caimán, a bold and expertly crafted cocktail bursting with character, combining rich flavors and a silky texture while remaining remarkably approachable. Both were the kind of cocktails that make you slow down, savor every sip, and appreciate the artistry behind them. For the main course, the Costilla Negra was the star of the table. Perfectly cooked and incredibly juicy, the short rib featured a beautifully caramelized exterior that gave way to tender, flavorful meat.
