I love supporting local coffee shops and this one is truly a hidden gem. The staff here is wonderful and the menu is quite extensive including food. My go to is a flat white with oat milk or almond milk. Very subtle with the great taste of their coffee. Also the prices here aren't bad compared to other big name coffee shops nearby. read more

Food is beyond good! Bakery items are homemade -- the biscuits are to die for -- AND they have many, many gluten-free items. One small cup of plain coffee is $4.69. The brew was not complete, so this "royal" cup was still diluted LOL. I didn't even think about ordering food if the coffee is this expensive. I'm so delighted to happen across this little cafe on the way to the Shops on Broadway. I'm brand new to the neighborhood so I'm exploring what it has to offer. Petit Cafe has me thrilled that it's only a short 0.1 walk from my apartment. I came in after 1:00 PM for a later brunch and ordered a lavender latte, biscuit sandwich (sans avocado) with potatoes, and guava/cream cheese scone. The sandwich was delicious! A fresh, flaky, butter biscuit was accompanied by a fluffy and delightfully cheesy egg and grilled onions. Potatoes were nicely seasoned. All served hot and fresh. It was a bit of a wait to get this but nothing to deter me from ordering again. Lavender latte was beautiful and good, but I was expecting more of a lavender hit. The scone appeared to be cooked a little more than I typically like but it was still nice and fluffy with incredible flavor from the guava. The cafe itself is super cute and quaint, and appears to be a popular destination to do some work on your laptop. It's safe to say I'll become a regular. I'm already planning to bring my BFF here when she comes to visit. read more

Couldn't wait to come and leave a review for this place... from the second I walked in the aroma of fresh oak, santal & brew soaked in my veins. It was like walking into a beautiful massage room with no scent of hard coffee. I loved every bit of it. I heard laughing when I walked in the door and immediately had a wholesome feeling of goodness. Awesome cashier w.locs(Forgive me for not remembering) was soooo cool. Very down to earth and funny. I ordered the lavender latte and it couldn't have been any better than I had imagined. I wanted to like this place bc of the ratings but unfortunately it was not the case. I ordered the breakfast egg and cheese sandwich, the bread was good and homemade and has this sweet taste to it, but the sandwich was not hot it was warm. The potatoes were also cold and not cooked all the way. They were a mixed bag of hard and soft. This is the second restaurant in Oakland that served cold food. Idk what is going on with the cooks these days. If I were to go again I'd probably just get a drink. read more

Thanks to the owner for the heads up :) I came by to do some work and got the Blue Calm drink, which is a matcha latte with blue pea flower powder and vanilla. It looks beautiful and I don't really taste the matcha itself, but the overall drink is creamy and nutty. I like that they have a lot of non-coffee options! I came here while waiting on my car to get serviced. I'm a big breakfast person, so I was shocked at my overwhelming interest in their overnight soaked steel oats. I like oatmeal a lot, but it's rarely my go to for breakfast when I'm eating out. Let me tell you, if you've ever felt that same way, this place will change your thoughts on that rule after your first bite. I ordered that with a side of toast with homemade strawberry jam (my all time ultimate jam -pun intended). The steel oats though, OMG. First they're presented beautifully layered with the chopped apples, honey and some sort of crumble. There might have been brown sugar (I can't recall). But, something told me to do a thorough stirring from the bottom. It was SO GOOD! Fresh, the constitution of the oats beyond any I had ever tasted; firm, yet chewy. The crunch of the fresh apples, burst of sweetness from the granola crumble was a great surprise throughout the meal. They made a new fan today. The strawberry jam was also as delight. Beautiful in appearance and delight to the taste buds. I'd be remiss not to mention that the service and people were super nice and attentive. I immediately have an appreciation for small businesses that use their wall space to display local artists. I hope they rotate artists regularly. Would love to come in to new art that I also have an opportunity to purchase. It makes the experience even more worth while. read more

I came here to grab breakfast and work for few hours. The quiche wouldn't be ready til 11am so I order the avo toast instead. And a cold brew. I've found that avo toast is shockingly easy to mess up, I'm often disappointed by what I get at restaurants. But their version is solid! Basic, but good quality bread, ripe avocado and perfect egg. Next time I'm going to add feta. The staff is very friendly, WiFi's good, and they've got pleasant meditation/spa music playing in the background. Will be back! read more

I was in the area to support a friend during a breast biopsy, and decided I needed to grab some food after waiting for some time at the waiting room. Petit Cafe is very close and had good reviews, so I decided to check it out. I ordered a small Dark Chocolate Chili Mocha, described as a mocha made with dark chocolate and chili (I chose oat milk), which was $6.34 before tip. I found the drink had more heat than I expected--but in a good way. I have a sweet tooth, so I needed to doctor it up to get it to the sweetness level I needed so the heat of the chili was more pleasurable to drink. The food on the menu looked appetizing, but I wish they put the prices on the menu so customers don't have to ask about each food item if they wanted to know. The man at the register was sweet and friendly, and the vibe of the cafe was relaxing and chill. Other than a few petite, narrow tables, there is only one big table available-- but there is free WiFi and a decent amount of outlets. Overall a good experience! read more

Cute corner cafe with a small seating area indoor and a vast menu of seasonal and specialty drinks along with small bites (breakfast and lunch). The staff is friendly. The ginger snap latte is seasonal and warrants another visit very soon. When I asked more about this seasonal latte I was told that the drink was more ginger forward and that almost deterred me but I'm glad I kept it as my order because it reminds me of the cookie with isn't too sweet and perfect. I got a chai once and it was sprinkled with cinnamon. That's not how real chai is made. They play annoying "cafe" music on a big TV screen in the small dining area--- why do they need that? I had just finished a medical appointment and wanted something very light and non-greasy to eat. Their soup of the day was minestrone soup, which hit the spot for me. It had that made-from-scratch taste to it and there were plenty of vegetables in the soup. They have lots of artisan drinks there and next time I'm in the area I'd like to try the Blue Calm, which is a Matcha latte. The drink is actually blue and I like the name Blue Calm. Service was friendly, but kind of slow. But it's definitely a place worth going back to. read more

Ran into this cute little cafe while waiting for my dad's eye procedure. After I paid, my food was delivered right to my table within minutes. I'm guessing they have super fast service for the hospital staffs next door. I ordered the biscuit egg sandwich and a lavender latte. I'm a big meat eater and I don't consider egg as meat so I was hoping I could add ham or bacon to my sandwich but I was wrong!!! Everything tasted so good together!
