Small side of tzatziki and pita bread. DELICIOUS!

I cannot say enough about this place! I always order the salmon plate. The rice and omg the grilled vegetables. Never did I think I'd be writing a review on vegetables but they are amazing!!! Service is always with a smile and usually very quick. The space itself is small, but that doesn't knock anything off the review, because everything is fantastic every time! The tzatziki, Avgolemono soup, it's all fantastic!

I've gone here often. Mostly for gyros. This one was the worst. Big chunks of meat instead of thin slices. Not very friendly either.

I recently went to Petra Cafe. I spent six weeks backpacking in the Middle East including Jordan, Egypt, Israel, and Turkey. My favorite place I visited was Jordan due to the hospitality of the people. Surprisingly Petra Cafe seems to be more influenced by Greek cuisine than Jordanian cuisine. In any event enjoyed my time here. Petra Cafe is a hole in the wall with a few tables indoors and some outdoors. Service was friendly enough. Not too many vegan items on the menu except some sides, falafel sandwich, and opted to go with the Greek Platter. I had it customized vegan by leaving out the Tzatziki and getting more eggplant salad. It was quite alright. I was dining in and they gave me a to go styrofoam container. One room for improvement would be to have better to go wares and would have been nice to have a proper plate when dining in. The food was quite alright. Another room for improvement would be to add more vegan options on the menu.

love coming to petra cafe to get a lamb wrap! the lamb was seasoned well and wrap piping hot! service was good, and quick ambiance is this cafe in orinda square next to the theatres!

Got takeout from this small café and ordered a chicken wrap with garlic fries and a gyros dinner, along with their spicy sauce. The food is always tasty, and the spicy sauce was a great complement. Portions were smaller than our last order, but we still enjoyed everything. We'll be back for another quick and flavorful Greek meal.

I wish there were an updated menu posted somewhere but for starters, a little on the pricey side My order was.... -Troy salad: chicken was super dry and unfortunately burnt. No, it was not charred chicken meat - it was burnt burnt. -Gyro salad: gyro meat was also super dry -Tzatziki: pretty good, missing the chunks of cucumber in it though -Side of grilled vegetables: exactly what you would expect and I'm so glad they were executed well. Unfortunately, I don't have a raving review to give them. If the price point were better there are definitely things I could rave about but $50 for this stings. Salads had minimal substance to them (poorly chopped vegetables, dry feta, not a lot of variety). For the price point, I unfortunately have to knock down the rating

Orinda has so few options I hate to fell something is less than great. Didn't fall in love with my meal, but I'd be up for trying it again.

Usually I get lamb but I wanted to try something new and yes the shish leek is incredible. The cauliflower qurma and saffron lentil soup are also filling and delicious. Thank you for offering a kids menu so we are able to order a chicken kabob plate for kids. They were such fans of the food. I've been here three times now and each time I am impressed! There's something so cozy about the restaurant space, and always so lively, in the Rockridge neighborhood.

The presentation ALMOST rivals the sensational savory seasoning that never fades with each new bite. All kabobs are offered with the option of basmati rice with a splash of vivid, yellow color on top. The roasted vegetables are a fresh-tasting variety that are sautéed to Al dente perfection (tender but still firm). Service staff are consistently friendly, seem to enjoy their work and are knowledgeable about menu options. The restaurant atmosphere is spacious with ample outdoor and indoor seating options. Street parking is easily accessible and with a lot of options within walking distance from the restaurant. Their baklava can't be passed up for dessert!

To say my…read morewife was elated tp see them open up in Redwood City close to her workplace, is an understatement. She has since brought numerous people tp this location. I also love coming here everytime I'm in town and need to finally revisit the original location since their renovation. On our most current visit, everything wasn't flawless like it usually is, but let me tell you why it didn't hinder our night, nor our reason to constantly come back. As creatures of habit, we humans tend to stick to what we know. I know especially at my age, I know what I want, and don't you dare make me change my order, dang nabbit. So, one of our go to dishes everytime we visit, is their roast chicken. This particular night, they didn't have any available, I believe the rotisserie was being serviced. Though we were a bit disappointed, our server Ben, made everything better. He took care of us, not only in conversation, but with a suggestion of trying the cauliflower. Cauliflower instead of chicken, how does that work? Well for us, it did. Never thought I'd sub cauliflower for chicken, but it was more than satisfying. Though we will always get the chicken, we more than likely will have to add the cauliflower along with it. We also ordered the Arugula Fennel Salad, which was light, and the crisp of the apples gives it a nice crunch. A side of chicken kabob to go with the salad. Fried cheese, it was good, especially drizzling the honey on it. Double kebab plate of chicken and filet mignon. Which I devoured. A refreshing raspberry lemonade. Just tart and sweet enough. If you're lucky to get Ben as your server, you won't regret it and if the server suggests a dish, give it a try, it make change things up for the better.

You can't make reservations in the evening, but we were able to get a seat after waiting for 20 or so minutes on a Friday evening. We had a dog with us, and they were able to find us a table in the patio out back. They have patio seating in the front, seating in the restaurant proper, and then more seating in the back patio. The ambiance inside looked really nice, but they didn't want our dog (we don't claim ESA) in the main restaurant. The patio out back was also nice, with a water fountain. Our dog was able to sit under the table and take a nap. The restaurant is BUSY, so the crowd volume was loud, but we could still have a conversation. Behind me was another table and I could hear pretty much their whole conversation. The food was all very good. We did family-style, where we shared all the dishes amongst us. I think the roast chicken might be harder to share, because you have to carve it.
