June 6, 2026 My parents and I went to Petrillo's tonight and IT WAS AWESOME. Our server, Suzanne, is part of the family and she took great care of us. She was patient and kind and took the time to understand what we needed. We ordered cocktails... because tonight was the last night I could before I re-start chemotherapy. Both my father and I ordered the Sangria ($14.00) ... And it was *amazing*. Honestly, it was the best I've had since my best friend and I drank together at a Flamenco restaurant in Montreal in June of 1985. My mother ordered the house dry red wine ($10.00) I didn't taste it and she didn't mention whether it was good or not. We ordered one Ceasar Salad ($10.00) and it was both really generous and incredibly delicious (see photo). My parents and I split it three was and it was plenty. The tang of the dressing really worked against the sardines and garlic. I'd definitely go back for more of that!! For dinner, my mother ordered the beef special.... Beef Braciole ($33.00) in an epic sauce. She loved it... but definitely could not finish it!! She brought the leftovers home (as did my father and I). My father ordered the Veal parmigiana ($29.99) and it was a massive, almost overwhelming plate of food (photo attached). He loved it (as did I when I tasted it!). For me?? I ordered the Pollo Vodka Bella Napoli ($26.99 - photo attached). It was a huge, almost overwhelming bowl of food and it was amazing. Deep, rich flavor with mushrooms, bacon, shallots, and tender chunks of chicken. The noodles we all ordered were the home made & hand-made fusilli that are produced in-house. I think that if a chef is going to spend the time necessary to make noodles, you should savor them... and that's what we did. Suzanne offered us a chance at dessert, but we declined, since we knew that if any of us ate a bite more, we would hit critical mass and destroy at least the surrounding block. The only weak point we encountered was the bread. It was weak, drab, and lacking in taste and character. They could do much better on that. Our bill, with taxes, was $162.62. Came here for lunch and got the Caesar salad ($10), seafood chowder ($12), and chicken parmigiana ($15). The price was a great value for the quantity, but the food itself was just mid. The seafood chowder has a good amount of seafood (shrimp with some scallops), but the seafood was mushy. The chowder was also lacking flavor. The chicken parmigiana was not as good as Olive Garden. We got takeout here Saturday night and it was my first time having their food. I can't wait to go in person! It was ready when I got there so about 20 minutes which isn't bad at all! I got the chicken, ziti, broccoli and the takeout containers are nice so the pasta doesn't get cooked by the stems. The sauce was yummy! I think the broccoli was a little too hard and the chicken a little dry. However the portion was huge and it still tasted good the next day reheated. My husband got the chicken parm and he thought it was amazing and it was a massive portion. Would recommend! I'm sure it's better in person as well. read more

My husband and I went to Petrillo's last night, and it was FANTASTIC! It was our first time, so I did not know where the bar was, and Mrs. Petrillo said upstairs, and my husband asked how do we go, and she said there's a rope around the corner! LOL. We had a good laugh, and then she had the hostess lead us to the back stairs. What a cozy room on the second floor. Alana, the bartender, made us excellent tequila cosmos. Then we had the fried calamari appetizer, which was honestly the best fried calamari I have ever had-light batter and tender, served with a side of their tomato sauce, which was excellent, too! I had the clams with linguini in their lemon, butter, garlic sauce, which was very yummy, and my husband had the chicken marsala. Both entrees were well proportioned and reasonably priced. First time there it was really good. The owner rearranged our table of eight to make it more comfortable. Four of thepeople in my party got the special veal dish the rest got veal Marsala and a seafood dish it was really great. The service was very attentive and drinks were Awsome. The food is still very good, I will get take out all the time! The tiramisu changed a few years ago, it's not as lovely as the other was. This review change is chiefly due to the modernized up date to the dining area. They went from a golden hue to a gray, which creates a cold vibe compared to the previous warm feeling one had dining here. The fans creating strobing light throughout the dining room. It makes the sensitive diner nauseous and distracted- I myself am not overly sensitive when it comes to sensory issues, but this was pointed out by two previous dining companions and on my third outing solo I can't ignore how right they are. read more

Was looking through my Yelp reviews and saw that I gave Petrillo's in Peabody a great review and haven't been there in a while. A long while. I Had a great haddock dish and gave it 5 stars. We were seated at a table against the wall. Our waitress came over promptly and ask for our drink orders. We did not get any appetizers or salad because it was pretty late. The drinks came over. No bread was brought to the table so we figured the waitress forgot it. By the time I saw her to ask her for bread, the meals were in her hands. That has to be record in 5 minute time for delivery of our meals. We did ask for bread and she promptly brought it over. My husband got his usual Veal Parmesan and Ziti. He said the veal was barely warm and by the end of eating, was cold. The ziti was "severely" undercooked and I mean severely undercooked. The fish I got years before was no longer on the menu so I ordered Chicken Limone and was envisioning getting a chicken cutlet with a buttery lemon sauce. Instead, it was a bowl of chicken pieces, and that same undercooked ziti with mushrooms, capers and spinach in a watery lemon broth. What I got didn't even match the description on their website for Chicken Limon. And most importantly and most disappointingly....The veal cutlet was not freshly made and the chicken in the Chicken Limon was premade as well. That is why my husbands veal was cold and the texture of the chicken in my dish was that of premade chicken. I am pretty familiar with cooking as there is nothing I can't cook. I realize restaurants precook the pasta and then finish the cooking time when they get an order. But there is a vast difference when you try that with protein. It doesn't work. Not in a restaurant that boasts fine dining. This is a disappointment. With the many Italian restaurants around, you would think they would make fresh food to order. We went for lunch today omg the subs are huge I was only able to eat half and am looking forward to the other half for tonight's dinner. We ordered the eggplant rolitini as an appetizer for the table it was amazing delicious tons of sauce and you could tell freshly over stuffed. Even as fill as I was I finished my fries they were crispy but soft in the middle totally addictive. This is our favorite Italian restaurant on the North Shore. It is in Peabody. The food is always fresh. The service is always friendly and excellent. The owner Linda always greets you at the door. on a friday evening, Petrillo's was packed, and for good reason. we waited 45 minutes to be seated upstairs and i was looking forward to this meal as it came recommended to me. Quaint little place. Two servers, looks like a family member of the owners is the hostess kinda place. Clean, slightly classy and putting out some good food. Enough option on the menu and decent pricing. Soft bread slices delivered to the table. With oil and parmesan already on the table I made my own dip. I split fried ravioli in vodka sauce and chicken Parm with my daughter. Enough for us! The vodka sauce was good. The ravioli was my win here, I just want more! The chicken Parm was good. Incredible dinner our meal, service, and guest experience was fantastic! We are now regulars.

We ate there on a Wednesday evening. The restaurant was busy. We had a reservation and were seated right away and then the service went down hill from there. We had to ask after 20 minutes if we had a waitress. She finally appeared and had to be the worst waitress we ever had. She totally disappeared. No I mean gone! Another waitress who was busy with her tables served us. Was she overwhelmed? Yes! Our appetizer arrived cold but nobody asked how it was land needless to say after 2.5 hours we finally paid! The food was pretty good but as I told Linda the owner we will return when she figures out how to get more staff. read more

Hidden gem. What a wonderful experience for lunch yesterday. Bread with butter or olive oil, and a beverage from the full service bar. The seafood over pasta was amazing! Plentiful amounts of clams, shrimp, sea scallops and muscles over aldente linguine with a rich red sauce - perfect. It was off dinner menu, nice they were flexible. Interior was bright and clean. Um...This place is incredible! Really, it is. After finding Petrillo's, I've pretty much given up on other sit-down Italian restaurants. No one else can compare. They far exceed all competitors in terms of food quality, but also in regards to price! Let me run through my favorite dishes: 1. Veal Saltimbocca: Best ever...by far! I strongly recommend opting for Potato/Veg rather than pasta - the sauce for this dish is gold and compliments the potato/veg far better than it does the pasta. Incredibly, this dish will run you less than $20. 2. Spaghetti Carbonara: Best ever! 3. Pasta Bolegnese / Eggplant Rolantini: These two separate dishes are my mother's all-time favorites. Trust her opinion in regards to the Bolegnese - she eats allot of it. The chicken parm sub is also fantastic - tons of chicken. Additionally, I love the rotating select of pizza slices available to go. My favorites are the chicken parm pizza and, especially, the Sicilian. So many of the dishes offered by Petrillo's are the best I've ever had. Furthermore, many of these dishes could easily sell for $10 more. I don't know how they do it, but I'm so thankful that they do. A gem! read more

We just finished a fabulous dinner. It was our second dining experience at Petrillo's and every bit as good as our first. I usually don't give a 5-Star rating since most restaurants usually have some room for improvement. Petrillo's is the exception. We started our meal splitting an antipasto. It's a great combination of ingredients and a good way to start your meal. For our main course I ordered the Pollo Marsala, my girlfriend had the Pollo Linda. The portions were generous and very well prepared. The staff is super friendly and makes you feel right at home. Special thanks to our waitress, Suzanne. If you'd like to dine there on Saturday evening I suggest making reservations early in the week. Petrillo's is reasonably priced and a great value. Give them a try.
