If your an automatic delivery customer you get deliveries automatically based on your usage. Will call customers are responsible to monitor tank and call accordingly to get on the schedule for delivery. During winter I would assume they are extremely busy so it could take 5 to 7 business days to get your delivery. You can't call in at 10% or less and expect they can realistically get to you before you run out. I have been both on automatic and will call with a few different companies. I was always told to order my propane at 30% to 40% in the winter so I wouldn't run out before delivery was made. Sounds like a few of these negative reviews were written by people who ordered way too late when they were close to running out and are not taking ownership of their mistake and blaming great valley propane for them running out. When your a will call customer you must be proactive and order way before you could run out. I personally have had great experiences with great valley propane the times I have used them.

I called Mark in a panic because I'd been trying for a week to get a propane delivery from Amerigas, with whom we've done business for 3 years. We were on automatic delivery, but Amerigas wouldn't schedule a delivery , even though our tanks were down to 13% capacity (and they told us to notify them if we got below 30%). They act like a bureaucratic dinosaur that can't get out of its own way. You have to deal with a nationwide call center and can never reach the same person twice. It was frustrating and infuriating beyond belief. I finally gave up, sent a certified letter to Amerigas telling them to remove their 3 100-gallon tanks, and scheduled a visit with Mark from Independence. Mark was willing to come out the next day. He and his associate installed 3 tanks, hooked everything up, tested for leaks, lit our pilots and was on his way to the next job in the space of about one hour. Independence has remote monitoring and actually talks to their customers...no more mega call centers to deal with, no Covid-19 excuses, no bureaucracy...just good old customer service and American work ethic. ..just when I thought they were extinct! What a pleasure to deal with Mark Delahanty and Independence Propane.

We've relied on them for years to service our AC and furnace, but recently discovered they've been using non-standard circuit boards--likely the reason ours failed multiple times. I had to contact the manufacturer myself to get answers, which is something any competent technician should have done if they weren't familiar with our unit. The technician they sent this year looked completely unprofessional--like he hadn't showered in ages and had just crawled out of a chimney. He touched everything in our home with filthy hands. The second technician, who came to investigate a burning metal smell, dismissed it as "just my wife's sensitivity because she's female"--his words, not mine. I had to find a workaround myself while we wait for the correct circuit board from the manufacturer.

Oil was getting low and we were worried we would run out if we got another snow storm and then I guess we would have to wait for a dry sunny day in summer so their driver wouldn't get stuck in the mud. I called another energy company and they delivered oil the next day! The driver had no issues whatsoever. Goodbye and good riddens to Shipley, they suck!
