This location offers grooming services. However, it is not feline friendly. The website claims they have walk-in services for cats like nail trims. But DO NOT WALK IN. They only have one person who works with cats. And that person is always fully booked working on dogs. So, you must catch her when she can work your cat in between her dog appointments. This means not only do you have to call to find out if she's working, but you also need to find out during her work hours, after talking to her, when she thinks she can fit your cat in on that day! You cannot schedule in advance. You are at the mercy of her dog grooming schedule. Why do they advertise walk-in availability for cats if that is not true? Other locations have given up on cat services and just focus on dogs. It seems like this location is barely trying to service felines. read more

Please do not let AMANDA B, groom your pet. I see another complaint from a person by name Molly about a month ago and I unfortunately didn't see it and assumed all groomers are good in this location. My golden looks fairly skinny now, and terrible cut/trim. I don't think my pet had a good experience either during the salon experience and I ended up spending all my time to get him back to feel fine. I've added a couple of pictures. Very very unprofessional cut and I don't even know if his natural curls/straight hair would come back. Praying it should sooner. I'm just very upset from this experience. I took my beautiful Golden/Collie mix girl in for grooming yesterday. I've taken her here before and have chosen different groomers depending on the time that best works for me. She was groomed by Amanda B yesterday and it was the worst grooming experience ever!!!! As you can see from the photos, she simply butchered my beautiful girl!!! It was 6 hours before I got her. I guess Amanda was trying to fix her screw ups and it kept getting worse. I did get the Manager and Assistant Manager involved and they were horrified also at the terrible grooming job. We've tried to give this location multiple opportunities and it's been a disappointment each time.... Be sure to check their pricing and your receipt! We lost $16 and they simply said there is nothing they can do about it. Did not offer any solution. Just took our money and said it was their mistake. I took my WillieBig Grt. Pyrenees in for bathing, ears and nails; the first time for me to take him for any grooming as he's a new rescue. I was very concerned about how he'd react and was surprised to find the happiest big boy getting his nails finished up. Totally relaxed, not stressed and beautiful! I have been taking my doodles to PetSmart for 17 years. I always had excellent service. However, today I was booked with the groomer named Ronnie at PetSmart off Whitestone. He immediately said that he had to shave the closest to her without even touching her. I was understanding about if she's matted you have to go shorter. However, even whenever I asked that he tried to keep it as long as possible he made it very apparent that that was not gonna happen and he was gonna go short. Then I asked that he please express her anal gland. He then proceeded to tell me that big dogs usually don't need that and if she needs that it's because of her diet. I said OK well she needs it so please if you can do it. And he said yes, I will and maybe you should call your vet and ask what you can do to make that not an issue. Right before he was about to take her back he then said that there was gonna be a $20-$40 charge because she's mated. Never never has any groomer ever charged that for me. I declined the service and left in tears. Because not only did I need my dog groomed and now she's not groomed. He also made me feel like I was a bad dog mom. I have never been treated so awfully for trying to get my dogs perception pet food ( that has a perception card from their banfield pet hospital that I literally used two weeks ago). The cashier treated me like I was trying to commit a crime, then the manager also gave me a hard time.. even though I will credit her for the attempted assistance with getting a card from their in store vet. She followed me around the store made it a good point to keep telling me that I was wrong... and so were the petsmart verification team that had already updated my prescribed and verified it. Then she answered a phone call while trying to assist me and spoke to the employee on the other line talking to them like they were stupid as well. I've had a frustrating experience with this place. If you're going to buy food, go for it unless it's prescription, because you'll have to pay to use their pharmacy. It seems that when you're ready to spend money, there's always someone there to upsell you. I've been trying to get a straight answer about my training class times for about two weeks. When I call, they say there's no trainer available. When I tried to leave my number for a callback, they refused and told me to call back, which I've done 4 to 5 times already. Several bad experiences with this Petsmart location. 1) They seldom have more than 1 checkout person working and often there won't be anyone at the register because they're helping someone in the store. 2) They will overbook dog training classes resulting in the class moving out to a small area in the store where everyone gets to stand for an hour. 3) Pet grooming services are very subpar. -They will double book multiple dogs with the same groomer who bounces back and forth between the dogs causing customers to wait longer to pick up their dog. -They don't do "extra brushing" for Bath & Brush with FURminator as claimed. I brushed an absurd amount of hair from my dog immediately after bringing her home from grooming. There's no way that much hair come off my dog if she was thoroughly brushed. -You have to get a receipt from the grooming area then take it to the front of the store and pay (wait in line), then return to back of store. I was told the store would have to pay several thousand dollars to put PC's in the back so they would rather just inconvenience and waste customers time. read more

I had a last minute pet emergency and was prescribed a specific pet food. I came to the store with my prescription in hand because I can no longer feed my dog anything but this food from now on. What is the point of having a vet prescription if it will not be accepted unless I have a prescription from banfield? This is an unacceptable monopolization of much needed items for my pet who has not eaten in over 24 hours and cannot eat anything else. I tried to buy cichlids for my new tank. After being questioned by the 18 yr old employee she refused to sell me the fish because she said my tank was too small. Seriously. I have had cichlids in various tanks for 20 years and this little girl is telling me that I could not buy them. She said she would sell me guppies. I could have intended to raise them up and move to another tank, I could have intended to feed them to my cat. It is none of their business. The store also stinks as in smells bad. Taking time out of my day to leave a negative review isn't my usual--but I feel like I have to inform fellow pet owners of the issues I've faced within this PetSmart, especially their grooming. If I could give 0 stars, I would. My dog is an 8 month old, 72 pound German Shepherd puppy who regularly attends PetSmarts grooming. No issues until now. After his appointment yesterday, the lady working the desk in their grooming pick-up informed me that because my puppy was "getting older," he was growing aggressive towards other dogs, and if "were to bring him back," that it'd have to be on a slow day with no other dogs around and in the late evening or early morning. Then, she proceeds to tell me that if this continues happening, we will not be able to bring him to their groomers. If there's one thing about my dog, it is that he's easily excitable. He loves other dogs, and upon seeing them, will bark and whine to get to them because he wants to play. The fact that they cannot read a dogs body language and come to the conclusion that his reactivity isn't out of fear or aggression shows how uneducated they are for a groomers. We explained that he was getting trained and his excitability won't cause any problem in the future. Once we got home, he was acting stand offish and scared. He's quite skittish and will hide in his kennel when something or someone scared him. It took hardly any inspection to figure out he had been muzzled. Strips of hair are missing from his snout, presumably from where the muzzle was pushing down, and he has a scratch near his eye. We were not made aware of this during or after his appointment. Everyone, including the staff at PetSmart, know him to be kind and friendly. There was no reason for him to be muzzled, and if there was, they'd have to been causing him serious distress as he is usually a gentle dog. I called the store today to explain what had happened, and because "nothing was written in the notes," they made it out as if I were lying. According to them, my dog wasn't accused of being aggressive nor was he muzzled, even though I heard her accusations with my own ears. Not worth the time, money or trouble. My Grand pup had an appointment for a hair cut and a bath. when I first get there Daphne acted like she was afraid of Gaia. Naturally Gaia is nervous but not to the point where she is making you afraid of her. Finally after 30 minutes trying to get Daphne to understand my needs and what I wanted done for Gaia and for her to finally put a leash on her to take her to the back. I sent someone else to pick her up as I was unavailable to do so. And they told me to wait outside until the lady in front of me was done. Then a technician told me to go stand in the corner as she passed by me. But she wasn't wearing a mask either. There were at least four groomers there, zero masks, and they have the audacity to tell me, mask-wearing, to get away from them. I don't know about this place. They all seem pretty young, though. I have tried to get my dog groomed twice. The first time turned away due to shot records mistake. I wasn't asked about it until I got there and was turned away. I can only make appointments for my breed early in the morning. I was later. My bad and turned away again. There policy doesn't allow for a bulldog to get anything but Express services. We didn't get an express service the 1st time and he was fine and we weren't told of any problems but we are still stuck with 8am appointments. This won't make a difference just going somewhere else. My dog has terminal cancer and getting his regular groom in Covid has been challenging to say the least. Louie needs a summer cut but we didn't want to cut him too short so that you can't how much weight he has lost due to his cancer. Joe the groomer never offered solutions or helped us problem solved anything. When he said we had to go short I said no because the last time I came in, they gave him doggy Alopecia (bald spots in area's they cut too short) While he was matted in places, he didn't need to go that short. He just wanted to do what he always does, the easiest job with the least amount of work. What made me snap was how apathetic he was about the entire interaction. You could tell we were "bothering" him. Clearly he does not like his job. To be honest, the entire grooming staff has always had a MAJOR attitude problem previously, I just ignored it because I haven't found anyone since moving here. But no more. Save yourself some time, headache and stress. Go elsewhere, especially if you have dogs that need more gentle approach. I did speak to the manager and like others have expressed here, nothing is done about it. I will be writing a letter to the main corporate office today. Hope that helps anyone looking. read more

I don't enjoy writing a poor review, but I don't want anyone else's dog to go through what mine went through. Hopefully this helps y'all make an informed boarding decision: I dropped off my 6.1 lb poodle on 6/29 for boarding and day camp. Without her medication, she has severe separation anxiety. Over the years we've learned what works to alleviate that, and have always communicated these strategies (in writing) to the PetsHotel. This time, they failed to follow any of the instructions we left - including failing to give her any of the medication we left. Without her medication and any of the strategies to alleviate her anxiety, our dog was severely distressed the entire week we were away. However, no one from the PetsHotel notified us until I called to schedule an exit bath - at which point they told us they wished we had left instructions on how to care for our dog. We left them, in writing, on 6/29. When we picked up our dog after 7 days, she weighed 4.6 pounds (a 25% body weight drop!!) despite the staff saying she ate well. All the medication we left was still in the bottle, despite the staff claiming they gave it to her. Her paws were raw, matted with days-worth of dried blood. This dried blood was also matted all over her chest. Her eyes were swollen shut with puss in the left eye from her panicked attempts to escape. I added pictures to this review to communicate the severity of the neglect she experienced while in their care - it was grotesque. I do want to note that, after I made a bit of a scene, the associate manager gave me a partial refund for her stay. This was to compensate for the vet visit that would need to happen to address my dog's paw and eye injuries. While I appreciate this gesture, I would have appreciated proper care so much more. I would highly recommend anyone considering this location for boarding to reconsider. read more

Made a grooming appointment for only nails. They didn't tell us that if our dog had stitches that we wouldn't be allowed in. So of course we went up to our appointment, and they refused us. That part would've been fine, if they would have told us ahead of time. The real mess was the lack of anyone actually in the salon, we had to track them down, and the utter disgusting mess of a workshop. Dog hair everywhere, and mold growing on the walls. I have been taking my dog here to get groomed for 2 years. The experiences have always been fine & Ashley has been great. I went on to book an appointment & there was a question about "has your pet had vaccinations in the last 48 hours?". I answered "yes" because he had. It then told me if I answered yes to any questions, an associate would contact me if there were any issues with my desired service. Never received a call. Took my lunch break at work to go home, get my dog, take him for grooming. All to be told in person that they couldn't take him because vaccines had been given within 48 hours. I'm fine with rules and procedures but I should not find that out in person. I was told an associate would call if there was a problem with any of my "yes" answers and that simply didn't happen. The two ladies working were less than helpful or understanding and instead made excuses that the survey completed online goes to "corporate". if that is the case, that is a flawed system since corporate is not interacting with your pets & customers. Rude manager-I questioned why they were upcharging me over and above their advertised special. Stated it was because of having to brush out the mats in pups hair. When I asked her to show me the mats and they could not find any, she then said the upcharge was for the longer blade. The blade and length examples are on the counter but there is no indication that there is a price increase for longer cut. He also gave us a lot of advice in terms of shelter, food and behavioral habits of the hamsters. If I could give the Grooming department negative stars, I would. First and foremost I had a horrible time trying to book appointments for my dogs online so I decided to call directly. After finally reaching someone, I was left on hold and then disconnected. A couple of days later I was in the shopping center and decided that I would probably have better luck scheduling them in person. I walked into the salon and waited more than five minutes to even be greeted. Once greeted I requested to schedule two dogs on one day, and one dog on another. The girl behind the counter looked at me like I was speaking German. She clearly could not comprehend what I was asking. After explaining to her several times and believing there was a solid understanding, I left with an 8 AM appointment for an express bath for my Boston, a drop off for my terrier, and an express the next day for my boxer. Whew, that was work. The day of my appointment I rounded up my two littles and got to PetSmart ten minutes before 8. I waited in line behind a woman in the salon (COVID distancing) while the ladies in the salon chatted it up for 15 minutes. I finally made it in and low and behold my Boston was never scheduled. The woman behind the counter kept saying I, me, I didn't schedule the Boston. I explained politely that I was just in the salon, in person, and scheduled both days on the same day. It wasn't until she completely disregarded my frustrations that I got upset. She argued with me and proceeded to cut me off about whether or not I wanted to schedule her and still leave my terrier. Then another girl interrupted and asked if I was there for a bath for my terrier....uhm, what the heck does the appointment say sweetheart? Of course with the level of incompetence and attitude shown towards a customer there was NO WAY I was going to leave any of my animals in their care. I would rather pay more money for a personal groomer than be treated like my frustrations aren't valid nor leave my animals in the care of individuals that can't even schedule correctly or rectify their mistakes. Grooming here is horrible. The staff doesn't write down your requests when you drop off your pets. 4-6 hours later, they call you to let you know your pets are ready for pick up. You are given a paper and told to go to the register to check out. You can not see your pets first. After checkout, you can go back into grooming to get your pets. Often, this is where I find errors. The requests I had at the beginning, that were not written down, were not followed. Usually I just take my pets and go home. Then, I have to trim around their feet, ears, and/or eyes myself. Which begs the question: why did I just pay $100 for someone else to do this improperly? Today, May 4, 2020, I got a call cancelling my appointment that I had made 10-days ago. They offered no immediate resolution. The only offer given to me was to reschedule the appointment to May 18, 2020. So, my already 10-day wait will be a total of 24-days. Why make an appointment in the first place?!?! This is extremely poor service to the customer wanting and willing to spend $100. The manager I spoke with today, Cindy, could not offer me a resolution. From our conversation, I got the impression she was ill trained on schedule writing and/or managing a team of employees. I would suggest she be retrained and/or removed from her role. She also raised her voice and spoke over me during our conversation--taking while I was mid-sentence. This is for Petsmart on Whitestone Blvd. In the past I've had great service in the grooming department and have been going there for years! NOT aNYMORE! Today was the tip of the iceberg for me! I've never had a problem taking my dog in early...even during COVID. Today I got there 20 m early and the attendant refused to take my dog. She said she couldn't touch my dog. WTH? Then the next attendant didn't want to enter his vaccinations because it wasn't due. I was like really? Just do it! Then the last attendant refused to groom my dog because his stitches hadn't completely fallen out, even though he was perfectly healed. I told them that I had called the vet this morning and they said it was fine to get him groomed. I had rescheduled this appointment twice and Rick knew about my dog's condition but was willing to groom him. I'm sorry Rick wasn't there and I hope you're recovering well. This is both a review for grooming and the Petsmart. For grooming, I am very frustrated that the technicians do not enter paperwork properly. I spent time dropping off my pets and entering rabies vaccine. We had to reschedule my one dogs appointment and when my husband came back nothing was entered. Very frustrating to have to search and find paperwork when I already spent my time doing it just two days prior. Also I groomed my other pup there and the bather did not know what was included in the package (teeth brushing, bows etc). Employees should know what's in the "premium" package and should not have to be reminded. I will be going to another Petsmart for grooming. For the Petsmart, the cashier are rude.
