Extremely Disrespectful & Accusatory Experience I had one of the most humiliating and upsetting retail experiences of my life at this location. I ordered a brand-new aquarium filter online (nearly $200) and picked it up from this store. The box was fully sealed, so I had no reason to suspect anything was wrong. Due to my busy schedule, I opened it about a week later--only to discover that the most important parts, including the motor, were completely missing. On top of that, the main filter unit was dirty with grease/algae, clearly indicating it had been used before. When my husband and I returned to the store to explain the situation, the male manager was extremely rude and immediately accused us of stealing the missing parts. He told us "this cannot happen" because it was not marked as an open box and directly implied that we were trying to commit fraud. There was no investigation, no professionalism, no attempt to de-escalate--just outright accusation. We were so hurt and shocked by this treatment that we left the defective product there without even asking for a refund. Later, only to protect our dignity and prove that we are honest people, we returned and purchased another filter for $200 in front of management. A female manager gave a brief apology for his behavior, but we were never refunded for the first defective unit, which they kept. I am a nurse by profession. My husband and I are hard-working, honest people. Being publicly treated like thieves without proof was deeply painful, degrading, and completely unacceptable. This was not just poor customer service--it was character assassination. I will never forget how this store made us feel. I hope PetSmart corporate takes this seriously because no customer should ever be treated this way. read more

Asked for crickets and was told to wait, lady decides to help 3 people wanting fish instead of letting me get my 20 crickets (takes 1 minute) and leaving. Waited patiently for 20 min when I thought she was done she decided to help another person with fish. Huge waist of time. I get there can be a line sometimes but crickets takes 1 minute vs gathering 3 different species of fish usually takes at least 10 minutes. If it was me I'd get the crickets and make someone else wait 1 min to get me out of the way vs making me wait 20+ minutes for a task that takes 1 minute. Ridiculous. read more

Terrible experience with the grooming salon. I have been taking my dog to petsmart for training and grooming since he was a puppy. Two days ago, I made an appointment with "Oliver" to get him groomed at 2:30. I got there a little early and Oliver came out and did a very thorough inspection of my dog. She felt him from the top of his head to the bottom of his paws--multiple times. I didn't mind. My dog had surgery on his leg earlier this year and had metal plates put in his leg. I showed her the leg and that the hair is still short there. He has a small bald spot in the area where he had the part of the incision. When the grooming salon was closing, Oliver finally called me to pick up my dog, only she was apologizing. She said she got busy with other dogs and didn't notice that my dog's leg was a little swollen so she wasn't going to be able to wash him. I reminded her that of course his leg was bigger than the other one, it has metal plates in it now, which I showed her at check-in and it wasn't a problem then. She said she wasn't going to groom him. I knew if she hadn't started grooming him at that point, she wasn't going to because the salon was closed. When i walked in to pick up my dog, I confronted Oliver and told her I didn't appreciate being lied to. I knew, because she mentioned it, that she had overbooked other dogs and ran out of time to do my dog. She agreed!! Then, she apologized. But she realized she Agreed that she lied and tried to offer more excuses as to why she left my dog in a cage for hours and didn't groom him. She said since she was busy, she asked her manager to groom him. She said the manager said my dog was sensitive, but not aggressive. She mentioned that my dog had scab on his leg. Aside from his tiny bald spot, he has no other marks on him. They decided they were too busy. She offered me a discount. For what? Locking my dog in a cage and not doing her job?! I do not recommend scheduling ANY appointments with "Oliver." read more

Just got a new puppy, so I'll be here frequently! This store is a couple doors down from Barnes & Noble, and is pretty decently sized. I came in looking for a kennel and cushion for the kennel, and found a pretty good selection to choose from. I wasn't shopping for anything else, but could tell that there's a huge selection of food, toys, and pretty much anything else you would need for your pet. Checkout was quick and friendly as well. I took my Maltipoo in for grooming. I typically have Liz work on both my dogs however she wasn't available. I booked with Vee (only groomer with an opening) and SPECIFICALLY asked that she keep my dog as fluffy as possible. She said she would be able to keep his face somewhat fluffy but his ears were a bit matted and would try her best. I was called three hours after the drop off and told my dog was ready and she tried her best but could only keep his head fluffy. When I picked my dog up I nearly cried! She shaved him bald with several areas on his body shaved bare and other parts with hair. He looked like a rat! I was extremely upset! Vee clearly isn't skilled with her technique. If she was she would have been able to leave a little hair as opposed to shaving him bald! DO NOT GO TO VEE! She obviously lacked in skill and ability as a groomer and wanted to make it easy for her and just shaved all his hair off! I also didn't like the fact that she was bad mouthing Liz (another groomer) stating she didn't fill out the paperwork correctly on another client in front of us. She then said "Oh, never mind, she wrote it on the top of the form!" Please refrain from bad mouthing your co-workers, it gives negative vibes. read more

I dropped off my dog to get groomed at 11am on a Sunday and tell me she'll be ready in about 3 hours. It's a toy poodle- tiny dog- and paid like $85. - I get a call 4 hours later asking if my dog has aggression problems because she's biting the hair dryer. NO. My dog is the best and never bites anything. Now I'm worried what kind of suffering my dog is going through that forces her to bite!? - 45 minutes before the store closes (which is at 5pm) I get a call saying she's (finally) ready. - My dog comes home almost hairless and uneven (spots are shorter than others) - her paw is actively bleeding because they messed up and cut too short - my dog is shivering and scared Terrible cut. Terrible. I always ask for a certain length or cut and they always send my dog home bald. I brush him everyday, so they can never blame the cut on matts or tangles. Also, their Bath & Brush is terrible. I paid $40 for a between cut maintenance (see below). And all they do is give him a bath and brush him out. They did not trim his nails, complete a sanitary trim, shave his paw pads or clean his anal glands. 3 hours and $40 later and all I get is a bathed dog. I could've done that myself. When I mentioned it and showed it to the staff they rolled their eyes and told me he was done and handed me the bill. read more

This review is for Lisa, one of the few people I trust to train my puppy, Enzo (a French bulldog). First of, I don't live in Fairfield. I was in town one day and I went to Petsmart and Petco and Fairfield, I read Lisa's biography inside the PetSmart store, and that's how I choose Lisa as Enzo's dog trainer. He started off in the Beginner Class with Lisa. She called me weeks before the class started and explained to me the different dogs in the class and how the other dogs in the class may react to Enzo (due to the fact at the time Enzo was the youngest dog in the class). Lisa made all the efforts to answer my questions and ensuring I was ready for day 1 of the class. She provided me information on how vaccinations should be complete prior to class and recommended what treats I should purchase for Enzo in order for him to pay attention in class. She even recommended the best vests/ collars for all the dogs in the class to help keep them safe from pulling/ running away/ into the other dogs in the class. Enzo completed the beginner class in 6 weeks. If you were unable to make a class, Lisa worked around her schedule to make sure that you can have a make up class, which I thought was very thoughtful: she made sure you got your money's worth. Lisa is a straightforward type of trainer, she will tell you if you are doing something incorrect, but she does this in order to break habits and help your dogs learn. Which I appreciate the most because now I am told I have a well trained Frenchie, he knows his commands really well. Enzo went on to the intermediate class with Lisa, and handful of the puppies from the beginner class, where also in the intermediate class as well. Again, Lisa called us a week before the class started, gave us information on what to expect, what dogs would be in the class, and answered all the questions we had. Enzo then went on to the Brain Games class with Lisa (the best class I have to say). She really took the time to make sure pet parents knew their marker words, and this class was really fun with Lisa. She took the time to make sure that all the dogs knew their games. Lisa is such a good dog trainer. I do not mind driving 20 minutes from home just to go to her classes. My Enzo really loves Lisa and really listens to her. I appreciate her knowledge and the fact that she is very passionate about what she does, which is why the dogs do so great in the class because she loves what she does! read more

DON'T DO BUSINESS HERE!!! False advertisers who do not honor their claim to match prices. On 12/29/23, my wife and I went into their Fairfield/Solano Mall location to purchase Soresto Flea collars for our two small dogs and two cats. We have been purchasing this item at this particular store for the last four years, once a year, as these flea collars are very effective and last over the 8month claim in the package. A few feet away from the checkout, in big bold letters on the wall, it says "Find a lower price and we will match", which we know, and is the reason why we go there. This time though, when the checker called her manager for the override, the manager stated they do not honor internet site pricing, only "brick and mortar" stores. I stated to her it does not say that on your wall, and demanded they honor to match the lower price like their wall says, and how previous employees had done for years. She asked for our email and addresses to look up our previous purchases from a year ago, and conveniently said she is not seeing it. As seniors, we are old school, we like to go in, purchase our items and go home. We could've ordered the items on-line instead, and I said that to my wife, and she said, "no, let's just go and get them today, I'd rather they get their collars today rather then waiting a week or two for the mail. The manager who denied us is Sarah. We asked and received corporates office number so we could make a complaint. We spoke with Belinda at Corporate and have a case number. Let's see what happens, because this is poor customer service. Both I and my wife worked in retail, and if a tag on the shelf or a sign was on display with incorrect information, we would immediately take it down and honor this customer.This is the reason "brick and mortar" stores (which means actual buildings, not internet sites) are losing business. Faithful old-school customers like us, who do not order everything off of Amazon, but like to go in and purchase immediately, I guess will have to jump in and go the internet route. Bye bye, Petsmart, you lost two customers today, and we will never shop their again and will tell all our family and friends the experience at your store. You're not the only store, there are plenty of other pet stores . The internet is your completion, so you need to treat your customers right or they can go elsewhere for better prices! I tried to no leave this review I have contacted management on more then 1 occasion. I then turned to a online complaint and nothing was resolved as if yet. My friend brought our dogs in on May 1st 2019. She waited for and additional 12 -15 minutes for the groomer who was late. She then gave explicit instructions on what to do with the dogs. Upon returning to.pick up the dogs they were given the opposite hair cuts. My dog was dyed blue and given boots. I never asked for that. Instead of causing and uproar I decided to take them home and deal with it afterwards. Since I was not the one to drop off dogs or give instructions. We called in the afternoon and spoke to the assistant manager and then the manager. We spoke of a refund which I never got. We also spoke upon what could be done. Mind you my friend has been bringing her dog Papi for quite sometime. The dogs are both white however they look obviously different. Mine is much taller and skinny compared to hers. If you were unsure about which dog was which it could have been cleared up via phone. So now I have no resolution to my problem. All store employees refused to give the district managers information. I am still highly annoyed and upset with the way I am being ignored. Everyone is nice enough on the phone. But we still have no results. Would I reccomend this establishment NO I will and do not. What if they had to give one of the dogs a medication such as flea med and gave it to the wrong dog?? I may update this is ever resolved. I can say until then the job they have done on Papi and Yuki had been great. The regular groomer was on vacation. Hopefully we will get and answer it is almost 1 month. read more

This is the first time for Kekoa at the groomers, and I was a little nervous leaving him with a stranger. It wasn't that I didn't trust the groomer, I didn't know how Kekoa would be because he's still a puppy. I made an appointment online with Enedina so when we dropped Kekoa off it was our first time meeting her. She was really friendly and Kekoa had no problems going to her which was awesome! He didn't hesitate or try to nip at her or bark, he went willingly. Enedina went over the different services and prices. She also explained what to expect since this was Kekoa's first time. We were told it would be 2-3 hours for bath, cut and manicure (which I wasn't expecting! I thought maybe an hour? LOL) so we were able to run errands or what have you. A little over 2.5 hours later we got the call to pick Kekoa up and we were ecstatic with his haircut!!! And best part, Enedina said he gave her no problems at all so we'll be saving her name/number in our contacts for next time. I was really happy with the service and how Kekoa's haircut turned out (we did walk in there with tons of knots in his coat because of his sweater). Cost wise , it was $74. I don't know if that's too much but I had no problems paying for the excellent service. read more

On 5/22/24 I attempted to purchase a single bag of dog food. I was standing in line with my toddler. There were 2 cashiers. The line moved at below expected average speed (I have worked retail I can say that). Once I reached the front of the line, one of the cashiers walked away from their register. Once the only cashier left was done with their current customer she felt that it was necessary, pressing, and urgent to assist a different customer in the fish department. I asked if she could just scan the single bag of dog food I was trying to purchase so that I can go about my day in peace. She didn't. I wish the story ended there...the associate she called to back her up...didn't simply scan the single bag of dog food and let me be on my way, the manager who was trying to interview new employees in the front office didn't come out of their office and scan the simple, single, solitary bag of dog food and bring money into the store in their charge. No, instead they turned money away on the grounds that....a customer initiated a polite, direct, and accurate appraisal of lack of customer service. I used no profanity, and no physicality and yet I was asked to leave the store, not by security detail, not by an officer of the law, and not by anybody who ascertained the full or even the partially situation. This store failed to correctly select the best and quickest course of action... which was to...scan single item, ring total...done...print receipt...everybody wins...Instead nobody wins...including corporate who now has to deal with this mess. read more

You've seen the recent as well as ongoing news about incompetent PetSmart groomers, Nicole is no exception. To future potential customers- I would avoid booking Nicole as your dog's groomer or avoid PetSmart all together if you have other options I adopted one of my dogs a year ago and so he's only gotten groomed a handful of times, but he's always been given a good behavior report card from the groomers. Today, after waiting months to be able to book an appointment, and waiting more than 30 minutes in line to be able to enter the salon area, Nicole turned my dog away because provoked him like an 8- year-old child would-- roughly reaching out for his muzzle causing him to growl and snap. Before COVID occurred, Nicole's appointment slots would rarely be booked compared to her other colleagues and I'm guessing because she's inexperienced. So she was never my first choice. Well you can add incompetent on top of that- untrained to handle dogs in an appropriate manner. Additionally telling me to "have a good day" is the most smug remark. What's more appropriate is that I should be hearing an apology for having wasted my time! I'm beginning to see that the overall PetSmart brand is terrible. The lady's here were so knowledgeable and friendly! Not only were they gentle with my first timer but answered every question I had and gave me recommendations for all my concerns. They even let my daughter interview them about their job for her school project all while grooming other dogs and maintaining a smile. I am updating my review to add information to share. Charlie has regularly scheduled appointments with Amanda. Her established relationship with my little fur baby enabled her to notice a small change in his health that I was not aware of. Amanda noticed that my little Charlie was losing his hair and because I see him everyday, I didn't realize it. I took him to the vet and got him the treatment that he needed. My point in mentioning this is that Amanda truly cares about the animals in her care at this salon. We are very fortunate to have met her! Charlie's all ready for St. Patty's Day! read more
