I've been coming to this PetSmart for a couple years now, and it's about time I got around to writing a review! This location is always clean and well stocked. I never have to ask for more stuff to be pulled from the back room, despite buying 4-6 bags of litter at a time. I like the wide aisles, it's easy to navigate my (usually overloaded) cart around the store in a jiffy and there's enough space that I don't feel like I'm being overrun by other people's dogs - I'm a cat person ^._.^ There are always great sales and fun clearance stuff for me to buy, as well as PetSmart coupons scattered throughout the store that can be stacked with the sale prices for amazing savings. You have to sign up for a PetPerks card to get the sale prices, but they don't call/mail/email you anything so there's no harm. Though I do feel like there is a lost marketing opportunity as far as coupons and sale alerts but maybe that is an option so you have to approve that yourself? They carry all the major cat food brands as well as the specialized and holistic brands. I'm assuming the same can be said for the dog stuff, but I've never been to that side of the store. There always seems to be a sale on one of the holistic foods which is good because those are quite expensive. The staff are always friendly as helpful. When I bought a beta fish a few months back, the young lady that helped me gave me clear instructions on how to treat the water, acclimate the fish, etc. Then she recommended a tank that, while not as cute as the one I wanted, would keep my new fish alive in a house full of cats. Kennedy at the pet smart groomers on Durango is the best.. My older dog Brodie has been to them a few times. He had a a couple panic attacks Friday night while she was blow drying him. She was great, she was patient with him and did not force anything on him. I felt bad that she felt so bad. He came home with a funny haircut but that was ok. Like I said he is old. We took our puppy to this groomer at PetSmart, after going over the details on how we wanted our puppy cut, leaving the face round keeping the beard and a short trim around the body. When we arrived the groomer told us that our puppy was very excited about other dogs and people and had to charge a special handling fee, as well as a de tangling fee when she shaved our entire dog. When our puppy came out from the back we thought they brought out the wrong dog. He doesn't even look like the same breed anymore. We were charged a total of $76.00 for an inferior hair cut. When we brought our puppy home our daughter started crying, thinking that we got rid of our dog and got a new one. You can tell from the pictures how our puppy was cut previously and a before picture from appointment . She made our male puppy look like a female and charged us more for it... if you love your animals do not take them to this groomer I will never take my puppy here again. read more

The "salon" is a HOT MESS. I'm positive they just shaved my dog without actually bathing her. When we picked her up, she was covered in razor burn and still had thorns/stickers in her fur. They also cut her during her haircut and she was bleeding when we picked her up. Her nails were a jagged, broken mess. When I addressed these issues, they said they didn't want to stress out my dog. When I asked why they didn't bathe her (and why they were still charging me for a bath), suddenly no one remembered and they were all "on their break" when my dog was supposed to be groomed. I'm pretty sure that the neighbor kids could have done a better job with a pair of dull scissors. Don't bring your dog here unless you want your dog to get seriously traumatized and to suffer from a full-body case of razor burn. read more

Wow. I go to this PetSMart all of the time. I had gotten a BOGO pet food offer so I thought I would stop in to see if the dog food I use was on sale. Before I drove down there, I checked on line and noticed it was 10 cents cheaper on the website. (Canned food). I asked the cashier about it. Her response: "if you can prove it, I will price match." We started beginner obedience with Renee in August 2018 for one of our rescue dogs. What a great experience it had been and quite a journey! Fast forward to now and we have enrolled another one of our dogs in her obedience class and have continued with classes with Renee with our first dog. We are currently on three classes a week with her with two dogs. We have tried trainers elsewhere in town for different things and Renee has them beat, hands down! I wish I could give more than five stars!!!! She "gets" dogs. And owners as well. Positive enforcement, encouragement, and knowledge are among the many things she provides students. This is for the grooming salon. They don't tell you when you book that your dog is going to be placed in a kennel for hours. My dog is a giant baby, I can't even go to the bathroom without him barking like it's WW3, he won't mentally survive a kennel alone. I call up, and the lady was so rude and not caring of my concern, I ask to speak to the manager, she says she is the manager. Mind blown. Then she tells me "maybe PetsMart isn't the place for Rico". Same horrible experience for our little 12 lbs 6 months old bichon/shih tzu mix puppy, We dropped him off last sunday morning for his scheduled groom and got a call an hour later saying that they couldn't get the job done as "his eyes are all red from stress" and that he "won't stop screaming!" Well, he's a 6 months old 12 lbs puppy, of course he's scared and will fight, but if they give him some treats and may be let him chew on a toy as we did at home, he'd actually enjoy the experience. So we picked him up and took him home. We did the job ourselves and he was nicely trimmed and washed without much incidents as we gave him lots of treats and chew toys. read more

I come to this store one to twice a month to purchase dog food. I have to be honest, I only come here because it's convenient and they carry the brand of dog food I need. I have read a lot of five star reviews below that all say how clean this store is, but maybe these people have never bothered to look down! Every time I come in, the aisles are always marked up with dog pee! I would never buy anything from off of a bottom shelf in this store, because chances are a dog has lifted his leg on it! They recently moved the dog food around the back of the store and moved all the aisles around too, when they did this the whole floor was pure yellow with pee! It was disgusting!!! The worst part about it was, the employees were just carrying on as if nothing were wrong, it was like they didn't even notice the floor was glowing yellow with dog pee. (More like they were in the mode of " If I don't see it, I don't have to clean it" I guess there is nothing better than a good 'ol game of "Not It" when your working with the public.) If the dog food I purchase wasn't on the top shelf there is NO way I would shop here! Also, what is the point of have a "PetPerks Card"? It does none of the things that they say it does. It doesn't give you coupons for specific items. All it does is allow you to get the sale price in the store! Talk about a complete scam! If you don't have their goofy card and you don't say anything at the register you will pay full price for something that is advertised on sale! As far as the grooming, I wouldn't know if they do a good job or not because after talking to them I will not let them touch my dog. I went into grooming to inquire about my old large dog getting a good bath and nail cut. As I was talking to the man at the counter about how my concern was my large dog being up high on a table, etc (like the big dog on the table behind him). As he is assuring me that they have the facilities and training to handle an elderly large dog, the big dog on the table behind him slips off and is hanging by the leash. My boyfriend and I visit this store regularly for our dog. We just recently purchased a turtle at the indoor swap meet and went to PetSmart to get him a better tank and set up. Not knowing a lot about turtles we were looking for some help from the staff. Morgan, one of the ladies working at the store was extremely helpful and friendly. She helped us with all of our questions we had and gave us a lot of helpful information to make sure we were good turtle parents. No one said I would need to get them paperwork when dropping her off (occasionally they'll ask at which time I present it at pick up.) It wasn't so much the bringing in papers, just how rude they were about it. I asked why they didn't mention it over the phone and got no response. My cat and her carrying case ended up filthy, completely covered in chucks of hair. The worst part is the cut her face and then said she must have done it herself. I recently got a new puppy "Sola". That of course means I need supplys, as my other dog "Luna" has her own beds and kennel. While I was walking around an employee who we believe was a supervisor approached us and ask if we needed help. She then went on to explain about this puppy coupon book. It was 19.99 and it gave you a discount on a kennel mat, which she said even though it said Kong mats they could use it for any of them. Then there was a discount on food bowls, she again said any kind. Discount on treats and food. Lastly there were so great discounts on training. Classes, doggie daycare etc. So we're thinking great this will help a lot. The kennels were pretty expensive, they have one thats a camping kennel. It's great as the dog gets old as she's a small breed and will me sleeping in it next to my bed. It was 59.99 but the one I purchased for my other dog at another business was 25. The bowl selection was okay, they was a lot of glass and plastic ones. I preffer the stainless steel. I found a nice one for a fair price. Food is the reason I come here. They have a great selection and hills makes a food Luna loves so we grabbed there puppy food and I though it was a good price at 15.00. Treats a toys we had no issues finding. When we went to check out the line was backed up and only one cashier. I thought this was going to become a nightmare quick as the customer at the register was a "complicated order". But the cashier noticed the line and got some help. This is were out visit went down hill. The lady that came up started ringing us up. Telling us nearly every item we got wasn't covered but the coupons. We tried to explain that we picked items that an employee directed us to. She just said "well who told you that, what's there name what do the look like." Lucky enough the supervisor walked by and the cashier didn't bother to ask her what she told us. So we were just not going to get the coupon book. Then the camping kennel rang up as .01 so the second cashier said they cannot sale it. I told her you have it on the shelf with a price and item I'd number on the shelf that matches the item, what do you mean I cannot buy it. She said they .01 means they don't carry the item anymore and cannot sale it. It means they used to carry it. It's a kong brand that they have a large selection of sizes. They had 12 or more of varying sizes. Her logic blew my mind, "we used to carry it" hello I have the item in my hand so you clearly still do. They did not bother to ask a manager. Also we were not asking for a discount. So petsmart would have made 200.00 but instead I left everything and went to a cheaper competitor and got the same bed for half. I'd say this is about an average Petsmart in terms of grooming, food, cleanliness, customer service, etc. I do go pretty regularly because I buy Simply Nourish (which is their brand). Where they excel, however, is training. We took a class with Rene this year and she was amazing. Friendly, knowledgeable, self-assured, and with beautiful dogs that are so well-behaved I wanted to cry. We will definitely be back to take another class.
