While I have run into various PetSmart locations quite often for treats, this is my first time that my wife and I have gone into this particular store. As rather new pet owners, we enjoy learning something new every time we visit a PetSmart location. We don't take our new golden doodle yet as she is still quite a bit reactive when other dogs are around. But we do look forward to the day when she can join us and pick out her own toy or treat. Today, we were only stopping by to look for a specific type of collar or martingale, and while we think we found it, we are not 100% certain if she is a small or medium size, so we'll need to come back. We also ended up walking around the store looking at other supplies and getting a sense as to what the deals and special offerings are. We also enjoy using their app and Treats Rewards loyalty program (https://www.petsmart.com/treats-rewards.html). The employees are helpful and quick to answer all of our questions. PetSmart has so much more than we initially realized. Their pet services including grooming, pet classes, hotel boarding, doggie day camp, vet care, adoptions, pharmacy, and a learning center. Featured options at the store include their outdoor shop, new pets, curbside and in-store pickup options, free same-day delivery, saving with auto-ship, fan shop, and gift cards. The Treats Rewards loyalty program is free, and you can earn and redeem points when you shop along with personalized offers. I have been coming to this location for over 5 years. Every month I come and spend over $100. I have never returned anything. I had a very unpleasant and disappointing experience with MARK at PetSmart, this location specifically. His response to my situation was very unprofessional, extremely inconsiderate, disrespectful and completely dismissive. I bought a 50 lb bag of dog food, like I do every month. My dog ended up with worms in his poop. The bag of food I bought was completely infested with worms. I was extremely concerned and worried for my dog as you can imagine. I came in calm and respectful asking him to exchange the bag and came with my receipt. I of course threw out the infested bag in the dumpster. I didn't want to put it in my car as I already had to clean out my pantry with the pest control guy due to the worms infesting everything. On top of that, I have a $500 vet bill so far. After explaining this all to him, he says "I need the bag, what do you expect me to return, I need something to return". I explained I have the receipt and the bag is a 50 lb bag infested with worms? And you want me to return it? He said, "what am I supposed to return?"I said you can check my account I've been a loyal customer for over 5 years I come every month. He said, that's not my problem, you can call corporate but they won't do anything. The conversation continued until I realized the type of individual I was dealing with. I will never shop at this store again. Shame on this company to even have a type of individual with this level of unprofessionalism, ignorance, inconsiderate, rude body working here and dealing with customers. My son (who will be 18 in 30 days) has both brought our dog in and picked up our dog numerous times- was told today because he was not 18- he could not leave the dog. He definitely needed a trim but you can see from the before and after pics below, what they did was unthinkable. They shaved him down to his skin from nose to tail. My wife dropped him off and I was called to pick him up. What I walked into stopped me dead in my tracks. I thought they brought the wrong dog out. I was so stunned that I had no words. I couldn't speak. In fact it has taken me 5 days to find words and calm down enough to write this review. To trim his body hair down is one thing... but they shaved him! I had an appointment for my 12.5 year old German Sheppard to get a bath. This is no small undertaking at his age. I took a break from work to bring him. The grooming center left us waiting outside the door for more than 10 minutes in spite of our appointment. It is completely my fault that I missed an emailed reminder for a rabies vaccine that expired a few days ago so of course my elderly dog had to be turned away and loaded back in the car. Why didn't they call me to tell me before we showed up?! I wouldn't have left my office and work for over an hour for nothing. The appointment could have been rescheduled until after the vet. But no, they just didn't care enough about me, my time or the inconvenience and discomfort of my senior pet to contact me about a problem with my appointment.! They just let us show up, wait a very long time only to be sent away...."sorry, company policy"...not very caring from a company who claims to care. We are done at Petsmart for good! read more

I took my brothers dog (I was pet sitting) in for his rabies shot and they wanted to give him a one year inoculation. What? This is an adult dog needing an update. Why would you do that? Did you know that there's NO difference in the amount of the drug the dog gets for a one or three year shot? Why would they do that? Can you say MONEY! They get you back in a year rather than three. RIP OFF....they took him to a vet's office and got the 3 year shot when they format back. Prior to your appt go in and speak to the groomer who will be working on your dog. They have groomers that are rude and unfriendly towards dogs. If dogs don't feel welcome by the groomer its not going to go well. I don't recommend this place. They have groomers that don't like their job nor their clients (dogs). if there were a zero stars button, i'd would have hit that.i am going to share my and my dog Rocker's horrific experience with their old town scottsdale location's grooming dept, their neglegence, injuring my dog, their absolute rude treatment ,crappy attitude of their store manager,(blanking on his name at the moment) , their district manager jamie holloway, and their ceo ken c. hicks. so this is probably gonna be long so.... please bear with me. it is of utmost importance to note that every single word of the following is one thousand percent true. zero lies or embellishment from me. petsmart cannot say the same. in oct. of 2024 i made a grooming appointment there for my dog Rocker. Rocker is a black lab/german shepherd mix, about 108 lbs. at the time he was about 9.5 yrs old. ( i rescued him from the humane society in march of 2015 and at the time he was between 4-6 mos old.) also important to note, rocker has an acl injury on his back left leg. he's had it for almost 3 yrs now. i lost my job due to my own health issues and multiple surgeries, so i haven't been able to afford the surgery yet, but i digress. we started going there 2-3 yrs ago or so, after our mobile groomer got remarried and moved to the other side of phx. i always told them of his injury, not to put him up on tables etc, and to be careful with him, and up until his appointment in oct, there'd been no issues. i took him in for his appointment on 10/21/24 at 2pm. i was told Clarissa (or carissa sp, something like that) would be working with rocker, and that it'd be 2-3 hours, and they'd call when he was ready. cool. about 2.5 hrs passes with no word, which was very unusual because they usually had him done in 2 hrs or less. since i was done with my stuff and nearby, i stopped in to check on him. when i went back to the grooming station, his groomer Clarissa, came almost running from the back area(where they wash /dry the dogs etc) she was visibly upset , flustered, kinda pale and panicked.( i have spent my entire working adult life in the people businesss, as a bartender, professional comic, public speaker, corporate event host , emcee, tv personality, broadcaster, and in sales... i can read people, and she was very upset!) i asked her why Rocker wasn't done and she in a very panicky, SHAKY voice said that there had been an accident with rocker. i asked if he was ok, she said he was, i then asked what happened. she went on to explain, still very upset and panicked mind you, that after rocker had been washed, they weren't ready to dry him yet( it was at this point i found out that when petsmart tells you"groomer so and so will be working with your dog" ,that does not mean that person takes care of him the whole time, someone possibly that person, washes, someone else drys, etc, it's an assembly line , not one person, so its very misleading.) and she went to kennel him ( i asked why they needed to kennel him and she told me thats where they put dogs waiting to be dried etc) and as she started to put him in, again, i had already informed them of his injury and to be very careful with him) as he put his front legs up, the kennel , which has wheels that are supposed to be locked and they were not(her exact words not mine, there's no way i could have known about it) so as he put his front legs up ,the kennel rolled away from him causing his back legs to kinda slip out from under him and him to collapse onto the wet floor. she then said he seemed "very, very disoriented" i asked if he had hit his head, she said no, but that he was "really ,disoriented ,out of it"...she went on to say he came out of the disorientation, but couldn't get up, she had to get help to try and put him in the kennel but at this point he was showing his teeth and wouldn't let her. i said of course not, he's scared and hurt. she said after about 15 minutes, he let them help him into the kennel. she said he seemed ok, but they were waiting to dry him then would bring him out. i went and waited in my car, they called about 30 min later. when i went to the back to get him, he didn't look well, and he had a very noticeable limp, that he did not have before the appointment. (also an important fact to note here, prior to this appointment, he could still get into my car, and up on my bed on his own, he has not been able to do it since that appointment/day). when they (clarissa and rocker) stopped so she could open the little swinging door, he collapsed! he couldn't even stand on that back leg long enough for her to open the door. i had to help him up, it took a few minutes. he now had a severe limp, as we stopped to open the big glass door that goes out to the retail area, he collapsed again, unable to stand for any length of time on that leg. i got down on the ground with him and waited for several minutes til he was ready to try again. while we were on the ground clarissa said they had a banfield vet instore--------to be continued i ran out of room will start with pt 2 read more

I have been taking my dog (prior and current) to the groomers at Petsmart for over 10 years. I recently dropped my 2 yr old puppy off for a grooming appointment and he has been several times. When my son went to pick him up, they told him i didn't bring his collar or leash so he left without it. I called and asked why they mislead him and was told, "oh it was in a different kennel than he was in but they had it". Being that we live almost 30 minutes away and it was late we didn't go get it that night. The next day I noticed my vibrant puppy taking a few short steps and then sitting. Being that he is the happiest and playful pup we knew something was wrong. We examined him with a flashlight and noticed the groomer Sam cut him in the area of his male parts while doing his haircut. He was very uncomfortable and sad which was really upsetting to me. Nobody called to tell us they cut my baby which is horrible. I called and spoke to Ben who seemed very unconcerned, rushed me off the phone but told me a manager would call me. It's been 4 days and I still haven't heard from ANYONE. I went to Petsmart to complain and spoke to Heather who apologized and once again told me a manager would call me. I'm still waiting. I'm so disgusted and disappointed that they would harm my pet and not even extend the common courtesy of a phone call. I will NEVER take my baby back to them as they lack the ability to inform parents when they hurt puppies nor call to apologize. They acted like it was no big deal which really upset me and I won't even say what my thoughts were!!!!! They just lost a good customer as they are not deserving of my business. Two stars because the lady was so nice that took my call, I had my 7 mo. Puppy washed as he messed in his crate. After I got home from picking him up I noticed he smelled no different than when I brought him in and his backside was still more than damp, plus a ten dollar tip! just had one of the worst CustomerService experiences at this location. Our dog is dependent on prescription food and has been for many years. All the purchase throughout the year have been logged into my Petsmart account. Admittedly, we had a slightly expired prescription on hand, although we do in fact, have a current prescription as well. We came in this evening, and our dog is out of food, and we were met with such rude Kurt unpleasant customerService by the manager on site named Mandy, at a time when we were pretty distressed, that we just could not believe it. I think others should know that they not only missed out on $200 worth of business this evening, but $200 worth of business on a regular basis. foods are very costly and we would never do that voluntarily, and the fact that they didn't even try to help or understand was unbelievably distressing. I was given nothing but cold and rude feedback by Brittany. I was supposed to be transferred and ended up getting hung up on. When I called back and asked for a manager I was told the manager didn't have time to take my phone call and that I could file a complaint with their customer service. If this is the way they treat their customers, I don't want to know how the pets actually get treated. A last minute business trip required me to board my 1 year old Sheepadoodle. Since she had been to this location for grooming I booked her two nights to end with her monthly bath and brush. When I picked her up they had cut all the hair around her eyes after I had expressed that they never cut her bangs off because the breed is very sensitive to the sun. DO NOT bring your dog to the 90th and Shea location! They are terrible! I receive a phone call while we are away on vacation that our dog needs to go to see a veterinarian right away because it vomited after it ate. I told them that that was not cause to take the dog to a vet but they did it anyway. About 30 minutes later I get a call from the doctor telling me that they need to do blood work and the dog needs a shot because it vomited. I tell the doctor that I told Petsmart not to take the dog to a doctor and that I am not authorizing any work to be done to my dog because it is not needed. The doctor then tells me that I now have to pay a doctors visit of $179.00. So now I get back from vacation and go to get my dog and Petsmart will not give me my dog until I paid the $179.00 doctor visit and at that time a let the so-called Manager know that it was their decision to take the dog to see a vet. He tells me that when i dropped the dog off I signed a contract that states they have the authority to take the dog to a doctor if they feel it was necessary no matter what I say to them. Without missing a beat, he gave me the same price for a different (more expensive) kind of dog food I wouldn't have bought otherwise. We needed some treats for the dogs and stopped by this location. It was raining cats & dogs outside (pun intended) and decided to kill some time until the storm passed over....so, we walked around the store looking at the cats, birds, fish, etc. As we walked around the store, we were entertained at all of the dogs in the store...we could never bring our dogs in the store, they'd freak out being around the others. Since we do a lot of traveling, we also looked at rates for the pet hotel....$29 per night is not bad. We'll have to consider bringing the dogs here so the entire family can have a trip together. We always hesitate to do that though....wish we knew more about it. We found the treats we were looking for and they were on sale....$3.59 down from $5.99...cool, we bought 3 different flavors to give the doggies a variety.
