Petsmart is a one-stop shop for pet supplies. Items were in stock. August has an interesting mix of summer and fall items. No tricks, just treats. Halloween inspired items to delight people and their pets. Small pets are for sale. They had fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds and rodents. They also have live food such as crickets. Employees we encountered were friendly. They all asked before petting our dog. They then proceeded to spend a couple of minutes petting her. This location is unique in the Phoenix area in that it has a Humane Society pet adoption facility inside. While it is common for Petsmarts to have cat adoptions inside, the Humane Society has dogs and cats. Humane Society was giving out coupons to be used at Petsmart if an animal is adopted through them. In addition to pet adoptions, this location has the typical grooming, daycare/boarding, and vet services.

Hands down the best experience. The staff in the adoptions center and the store were excellent and so awesome. The AZHS staff were caring and made sure the animals were well taken care of. I adopted an older dog today and you can tell he was well cared for. I can't tell you how thankful I am for how the morning went. Great job to Cash and Brandon, thank you guys!

Pepper, The Pup I Bought From The Humane Society, In This Store

Petsmart in general is pricy and not that great of a service...but I got my pup here in July. She is such a sweetheart... from the Arizona Humane Society. She has been doing training, and is a truly wonderful dog. Thank you!!!!

I absolutely recommend anyone with a doodle to go to Braylah in the grooming salon. She's groomed Finn twice now and he looks perfect every time. Since my dog has long hair he did have some mats but she educated me on how to prevent them and is super thorough and takes her time when he gets groomed which I appreciate so much. I will probably never take him anywhere else. 10/10

I adopted my new family member, Baby, a few days ago after a high pressure pitch from the volunteer while the animal had Bordetella. The store will not give you medication, but instead a number to VCA to schedule a complimentary appointment, but in the meantime, while the animal is in your care and when the appointment starts, you have sole care of a sick pooch. Baby was ok the first and second day, but slowly became more and more lethargic, and his nasal mucus is turning green. Its thick and crusted over now. He's now wheezing, and VCA can't get him in until Monday, which is such a disappointment because i told the volunteers to keep Baby til his meds were done, and then i would pick him up. The volunteer then guilted me into taking Baby, and trivialized this disease, which can actually spread to humans! My daughter missed two days of work because she has a mysterious "cold" within hours of bringing Baby home. He's sneezing, coughing, wheezing, and not eating. He had a fever yesterday, and now my daughter is sick. It's an inhumane way to treat animals, when a dog whose sick should even be adoptable until he's better, because isn't PetSmart and the Arizona Humane society's goal to preserve the lives of Arizona animals? I wish I could give this store zero stars, but I really do love, Baby.

Holly in grooming is amazing! She is a senior pet groomer been grooming for years, she told me she likes working at petsmart. My shi-Poo is 16 yrs old and Holly Takes great care with her. My first visit she told me I was eligible for a 3 groom discount package. What a great sales associate and groomer! Ask for Holly when u make your appointment

INCOMPETENCE! Absolutely do not use this store for your babies care! They care 0 Just so everyone knows the day camp is not SMALL and Large it's mixed and they lie to you and hope you don't ask questions! My 5# yorkie doesn't belong with your 75# boxer etc. Don't trust this place with your loved ones, 1 second is all it takes and there dead! Anyone who had small dogs there on Sunday, their dogs were scared and hiding up against the wall while I watched big dogs play and rough house, one black one was so scared it made me cry. While the two blondes up front couldn't be bothered to assist them. SAD Ruined my weekend in Scottsdale! I wish I could sue them to get my weekend back! Rated -0 the 1 is because I have to! Once again DO NOT TRUST THEIR INCOMPETENCE, they care ZERO for your PET ZERO

This rating pertains to the PET HOTEL RULES IN GENERAL I BOUGHT my dog from Petsmart's adoption center (pit mix) I USE BANFIELD for his vaccines and check ups But when I wanted to start daycare to properly socialize my dog LIKE A RESPONSIBLE PET PARENT after ALL THE REQUIRED VACCINATIONS they DENY HIM because of his breed!!!!!!!! PETSMART PRACTICES BREED DISCRIMINATED AGAINST PITBULLS OR PIT MIXES WITHOUT EVEN DOING OBSERVATIONAL BEHAVIORAL TESTING OR ANY PRIOR HISTORY TO SUGGEST AGGRESSIVE BEHAVIOR!!! This type of rational and rule is dangerous to the breed and is FLAT OUT WRONG. Aggressive behavior is not genetic it is LEARNED. The act of them denying his right to be socialized at his young age only further enforces this ugly and false narrative that pit bulls are aggressive by nature which is WRONG as we all know now because it's the year 2019 and we aren't living under a rock! Mind you, I was a dog groomer for Petsmart for 2 1/2 years back in 2009 and NEVER was attacked by a pitbull they were in fact my easiest and most friendly clients. I called corporate after being denied due to my puppies breed and they said he couldn't go there because he has lockjaw and they can't taser him?????????? He's 4 months old i pray to god you wouldn't taser him. The hotel accepts German Shepherd's, Dalmatians chihuahuas and other breeds that have the ability to do just as much damage if they choose to do so but my baby boy can't go. PetSmart you need to educate yourself because your actions are dangerous to this breed, HURTFUL and wrong.

Lisa and the staff, especially Victoria were awesome and provided me with the peace of mind I needed because my two Golden Retrievers are my everything. Lisa assigned Victoria and there are not enough words to describe how terrific she was with my two puppies. Victoria cared for them, played with them, watched as they swam numerous times daily, dried them, fed them and went to the market to get them their fruit snacks. She totally followed the detailed schedule I had provided and Victoria sent me multiple daily updates, along with pictures of my two puppies. In addition, to caring for my Goldens, Victoria cared for my home as if it was hers, with great care and respect. Victoria is just one of many awesome pet sitters that Lisa has in her business and if you need these types of pet sitting services than Pick of the Litter is the TRUE PICK!!! Thank you Lisa and Victoria, Morgan and Cheyenne send you lots of Puppy licks and give you both a 10 Paw Rating.

We couldn't have asked for a better sitter and would absolutely book Kenna again. Highly recommend!!

I chose The Barking Dog based on its strong online reviews, but unfortunately my experience was…read moreextremely disappointing. This was my first time ever boarding my dogs, and I only scheduled this stay because I had an unexpected family death. Naturally, I was already stressed, and this experience made things worse. When I dropped my dogs off, the front desk employee was working alone. While I understand being busy, the entire check-in process was very disorganized and frustrating. After taking my dogs to the back, she spent time inventorying my items, answering calls, and helping other customers--without once acknowledging me or letting me know I was free to go. I stood there for about 15-20 minutes with no communication, only to eventually be told she didn't need anything else from me. During my dogs' two-night stay, I received zero updates--no messages, photos, or report cards, despite those being features listed in their system. As a first-time boarding experience, this was especially concerning and left me wondering how my dogs were doing the entire time. Pickup was just as disappointing. While bringing my dogs out, one of them got her foot stuck in the doorway and was yelping in pain, and the employee continued pulling her on the leash instead of stopping to help. I was handed my dogs quickly with no update on how they did during their stay. The dogs also smelled so bad when we got them, I had to immediately bathe them when I got home. Overall, the lack of communication, attentiveness, and basic care was very upsetting--especially given the circumstances that led me to need their services in the first place. I had another boarding appointment already scheduled for April which I canceled and will not be returning or recommending this facility.

When "Joy" in the reception area returned him, he was in acute distress. His face & chest were frothing drool and had difficulty walking. I asked what was wrong, she said Danes "are prone to bloat, there's an ER up the street if you want". He then had a partial collapse in the parking lot and grey(blue) gums. Went back inside to ask if something had happened while he was there. The yard person "Aubrey" said she "noticed he was lethargic but thought he drank too much pool water". There are cameras in the reception area and THEY RECORD EVERYTHING. I'm sure Karen has destroyed this evidence. Immediately went to Blue Pearl ER where they put him on an oxygen tent. The diagnosis "near drowning/near choking". He was seen by a holistic vet and Arizona Animal Hospital (Brett the Vet's clinic) who confirmed the ER diagnosis. So far the bills are $4058 and there will be one more bill next week. Karen Burnett has shirked all responsibility as borne out by all the 1 star Yelp reviews.
