This is for the pets hotel in petsmart. I wish this review was for being satisfied with their services but saddly it isn't. The staff are in fact friendly there but after boarding my dog with them for a week I picked him up and as soon as I saw him I noticed his testicles were raw, swollen and bleeding a little bit. After checking him closer I asked the front desk girl why this wasn't in his notes/chart and she said that they hadn't noticed. This was something that clearly had been building up for at least a couple of days. The vet told me it was a chemical burn from non friendly chemicals they use to clean the kennels. So they obviously saw it and were going to let me leave without telling me which is completely unprofessional. The girl said she's been working with pets for over 10 years and has seen this happen a couple of times and that "he'll be fine" . My question is, if it keeps happening why are you still using the same chemicals in the kennels? Theres more! After getting home, my puppy went to my bed and rested for a while and when I got close and started petting him I noticed he had a flee. I showered him instantly. Petsmart did offer to pay for the vet and the medicine but saddly I will never go there again for boarding or grooming purposes. Disclosure: He is not neutered yet as he is still a puppy so he wasn't allowed with other dogs and only had playtime with an associate. This is kind of a difficult place to rate. On the one hand, they have a huge selection, and I can always find what I'm looking for. The store is tidy, and they do a good job of cleaning up. However, I always seem to have trouble with the cashiers. Either they're off chatting where I can't find them or I wind up getting the person who's having a bad day/ hates their job/ whatever. From the service side of things, the store fails, but they're good as long as you don't need help with anything. read more

The salon here is one of the best. The employees are incredibly warm and kind towards my dog and myself. The price of $14 for a nail grind is steep, but I continue to come back time and again because of the great service. Thank you. read more

My two doodles had been groomed three times at this Petsmart, stayed in the Hotel several times, and I purchased everything else there also. There had been three or more Grooming Managers over the past year and a half, when I gave the store manager some feedback about the current one. She kept saying "So, you want me to shave the dogs?" when I talked with her about cutting my doodles coat! We we weren't getting anywhere in our conversation about what would be done for my year old dogs! It was very frustrating! When I spoke with Andrea, recommended to me by a former groomer at the same location, she listened and responded with what would be done and never once said the word 'shaved!' So I made an appointment for a few days later. My two dogs are sisters, and don't like to be separated. In the past, same location, they would allow one of the dogs to be there while the other one was groomed. This time, they put one in the back, and she was crying! I asked if I could give her a Kong treat holder, and "No." So I went to the manager, and he arranged for one of them to be in the Hotel at a time. I really appreciated it. When I picked up my dogs, [they looked beautiful, NOT shaved, as usual], the store manager told me they "couldn't groom my dogs anymore" and gave me the name of a mobile groomer [who, when I called the next day, was FULL and could only make appointments to shave!] I then asked the PetHotel if I could still bring them in for overnights and play, and they said "No." I had been coming there with my dogs for everything for over a year! My doodles were loved by the crew! The trainers were great! My groomer [Andrea] was great! But I was totally surprised when I was basically banned from the store, all because of ... well perhaps the two managers were related or something! I don't know!! [I know all their names, but my goal is not to embarass them personally, just let you know things can go bad pretty easily so don't ever give any feedback, no matter what. The manager didn't charge me for that last grooming before banning us, but I still left the usual $50 tip for the groomer. She does a wonderful job! I contacted their corporate office, and they let the district manager tell me basically nothing was wrong there. Seriously, must be a family store! LOL! read more

Absolutely love this store. I use to go to the one at Tempe Marketplace one and thought it was a lil dead and the staff didn't seem even close to be happy to be there. We also did puppy training there and Max shouldn't of ever graduate. I went to the one near the Scottsdale Mall (fashion square) on Miller and Camelback completely by accident, and absolutely loved this store. I have brought my dog Max there and he loves to be there. The cashiers at checkout were so sweet, and the customers are super friendly. Alot of people who work there, know the customers by name, Max and i were welcomed with open arms. The managers were super helpful when I had to return something and were very knowledgeable. all the employees seemed like they enjoyed there jobs and were happy to be there. Service with a smile I would say. After a few visits to this store, I signed up Max for training. The training was so well done we decided to do intermediate and advance. They have three trainers there who are helpful and the classes are small so Max got some individual attention. If you need anything petwise I totally recommend coming to this store, and if you need training, I wouldn't recommend going anywhere else. read more

Great service, the ladies are so sweet that work the registers and really love animals. They are genuine people and I love that they are so sweet when we come in there. My dog loves it there. They even have a scale in the back if you want to check out your dogs weight :)They also have tons of cats and dogs for adoption. They have a huge room in the back that has tons of dogs up for adoption, from the shelter they bring in. Its actually kind of sad tho, because there are so many that need homes. The only thing I didnt like is, I went back there and they had a litter of puppies that were exposed to parvo and they were "isolated" (they had their own cage?) and they didnt have any signs posted saying that. Made me nervous, because the guy told me to wash my hands when I was leaving if I had a dog.. eeek...but besides that, the store I highly suggest you go there. They are trying to save lives, just need to get better organized back there! read more

Grooming department never finishes their promise of grooming our dog and have received him back multiple times not finished and expected to pay full amount. Their groomers have made excuses and even reasons of why we are responsible for why he can't be groomed properly. I would never recommend this location to anyone and we are never going back to petsmart again. read more

Not only were Liz and Jared the most gracious adoption hosts possible, even the cashier was adorable. And though I know they had nothing to do with it except their charm and passion, the dog they helped me adopt is absolutely the best pet I could have ever imagined. He's obedient, quiet, trained, I wonder how someone could ever let this guy get lost and end up in the pound. It's like winning the lottery, no kidding. Was extremely anxious about finding a groomer for my 11-month old Dachshund-Pomeranian puppy. Went to the Petsmart at Miller & Camelback in Scottsdale and found that Krissy (the Salon Leader) was extremely friendly and answered all of my questions so I decided to make the appointment (with her). She did an absolutely phenomenal job and went out of her way to make my dog feel comfortable. Everyone there seemed really nice and I would absolutely take my dog back there again. read more

Be aware that this Pet Smart may decide not to board your dog when you arrive to drop off your dog. Even if they have boarded your dogs multiple times in the past without incident. This could you leave you in a bind, as it did to me, when you are about to leave town. On Tuesday, July 4, 2017, this Pet Smart refused to board my 15 lb, 3 year old, pug mix, who had been boarded there at least 3 times in the past. This is a dog that routinely plays with my 2 year old grand son and has NEVER bit anyone. The reason stated for not boarding him is that he displayed aggressive behavior when they "tested" him and that dogs are "unpredictable". My dog is aggressive towards strangers at first, but this goes away when he get's to know you. I made this clear in his paperwork for the previous boardings and this one. The statement that dogs are unpredictable is ridiculous. If this were so, you could test a dog who seems not aggressive, and then he suddenly bites without provocation. If this were the case, testing would be useless. My dog, and I think most others, are very predictable. The only thing that is unpredictable is whether this Pet Smart will refuse to board your dog when you show up to drop him off. The lady I spoke with, Jenifer, mentioned that they were near capacity. I think they overbooked and left me in a bad spot when leaving on vacation. read more
