Had my pup groomed here 3 times. The first 2 times were decent. Nothing alarming or extraordinary. I did really like Maria the groomer and her handling of my baby. However, the 3rd time I was mortified that my poodle was shaved and cut like a darn yorkie! Ashley was horrible at taking instructions in grooming my dog. Will never let her touch him again! There are plugs of hair missing which left him with a flat top. Now I have to wait for his hair to grow back so it can be fixed by someone who is familiar with poodle cuts. Never again. read more

I don't come to this one often because it doesn't have doggy day camp, but everytime I come here, the employees are more rude than usual. Today, I came in to buy dry dog food and canned food. I received a coupon for a free trial sized raw food. I asked someone for help and she rolled her eyes at and snatched the coupon from me. It took all my might not to call her out and tell her off. First off, don't roll your eyes at me, and second, how dare you snatch something from a customer. I will not be returning to this petsmart. At LBTC and CTC petsmart they are more welcoming and willing to help unlike this petsmart. read more

I have to come here because it's my closest location. On that note, been coming here forever and staff has always been helpful but this last time while picking up fishy supplies there was a beautiful deal plastered ALL OVER the fish ornament aisle stating "buy 2 get the 3rd free." We shopped around for decorations, fake plants, gravel, and the new tank. When we went to get rung up it hit me we didn't pick up the 3rd free ornament so I asked the cashier to make sure there was an actual deal going on. Her reply was simply "no." "Oh, really?? Because there are signs posted everywhere..." She scans the products to check and again says no there aren't any deals going on right now. Ok fine I get it sometimes they leave old signage up. But no! We return a week later to pick up some more stuff and see the signs still there proud and loud. So a very nice gentleman from the fish department stops and asks if we need any help. I explain my situation and he's saying we should speak to a manger and that indeed the deal is going on ha! Upon getting rung up we mention the issue and she calls over what seems like a manager? But he too questions if there is even a deal going on! I have taken my dog here a few times for nail grinding. Never really paid much attention. But the last trip, the groomer complained she was jumpy (which NO-ONE has ever said before). So i looked at her nails, and the groomer had actually SPLIT two of her nails in half. I ended up taking the dog to the vet, who said ALL of the nails were cut too close to the quick. WIll NEVER take her back here again. read more

Fabulous service from all Associates especially Victoria today. And the Manager, more than delightful. I needed to buy an aquarium pump and received knowledgeable help from Victoria........and even she got a few goldfish I wanted. They are not cheap here, but for the service, few people in the store and the cleanliness........love it here. I no longer live in Signal Hill but close by.........but the drive is worth coming here. I drive a little further to get to Petsmart than any other pet stores, however I've been let down by this store too many times lately. I went in on a flash sale for the biggest cat litter container since it seemed to be a great deal with their $3 off but they didn't have any and didn't do rain checks and what no earnings when you use your Petsmart card?!?! I bough a different brand so I wouldn't have to spend time going somewhere else and I wanted to use my petsmart card but the guy at the cash register said it didn't matter because there was no points. No how did we do printed on receipt either! Not my only bad experience in the last year or so. Going to Petco in Lakewood from now on I can use my earned $10 on something for my dog. read more

My first time here and they absolutely make you feel like they genuinely care and super welcoming. Our pets are just more than pets they are family. It is very hard to find a place where they interact with ones baby and absolutely know they will provide the best for them and give you excellent service. The girls in the grooming absolutely great. The only first and last time that I went to this store made me super frustrated with the staff. They were very rude and unhelpful while I was simply looking for some feeders fish. Went in on a Saturday around 12pm. It was pretty busy. I was looking for ear drops for my dog. I walked up to the Banfield counter, no one else was there. Neither one of the 2 girls acknowledged me so I stood there for a second then I greeted them. I asked where I could find ear drops, not an ear rinse. One of the girls looked clueless and the other girl mumbled "you need a prescription for drops". As she's saying that, another customer walks up behind me and they both smile and greet that customer. They both completely brushed me off, didn't even offer an alternate or over the counter option that I could purchase there. This is all after I went to another PetSmart that does not have a Banfield and said that I could get the drops at this one. The particular drops I was looking for, don't require a prescription and I was able to purchase them online. Total waste of time. read more

This place is filthy and it always smells bad...a lot of patrons come in with their dogs and not everyone is aware of what their pets are getting into...you'll see poop and pee on the floor and no one has cleaned it up until you mention it to someone...it's your responsibility as the owner to clean it...HELLO!!! But as a sales clerk if you walk by it, don't just pretend like you didn't see it...clean it up cause it's a safety hazard! read more

Love this PetSmart! Especially the grooming salon. They're so loving and always inform me of my little pups condition and needs. They always look out for her. If there's dry skin, they treat and educate for it. Fleas???? They have great recommendations. Last time I went they gave my baby a bow and a little report card it was so cute! My baby is always happy going to see her groomers she loves Bethany and Mari the most! She likes everyone there but those two I can tell give her the type of love I give her and I know she's in good hands cuz of that. I'm not sure if the associates name was IAN... however he was the most disrespectful person I've ever come across in retail history. He clearly dislikes his job. I walked in with no knowledge of dogs asking for advice on great tasting food for my dog because she was so picky. His response was "well we're not dogs so we don't eat the food and can't tell which one taste the best". I was so hurt I couldn't even respond. How could you ever be so disrespectful in the workplace. I should've reached out to his manager right away. I came to this Petsmart for the first time in February 2014. I just came in for a litter box and some cat food, but ended up leaving with a kitten, my third orange kitty. I like to come here on Saturdays because they have the kitten and cat adoptions. The employees here are all super friendly and helpful. I really enjoy coming here, and my cats like digging through the plastic bags for my spoils as soon as I get in the door. Petsmart beats the pants off of Petco for sure! read more

After a very painful and unpleasant experience at Petco, I decided to try Petsmart. Yessenia in the grooming department is amazing! She has been Coco's (my Westie) groomer for 2 Years and delivers Perfection every time. I absolutely love everything about this location. Came here for the pets smart grooming saloon and the past 4 times I have taken her here there has always been something wrong. They charged me $80 for a haircut that was 3 inches shorter than we asked for to the point where you could see her skin. We asked the staff why and they said that there was ONE mat that they could not get out. I went home that day and brushed it out in 5 minutes. We asked for a discount or refund and they responded by inactivating our grooming account ans saying "if you don't like it go somewhere else." DO NOT COME HERE AT ALL COSTS!!! read more

I'm one of those people who like to shop around for the best deals but one thing that I really enjoy is customer service, every time I've come to this store, for pet supplies, I've been treated really well. Employees ask if you need help, they try to answer any questions, even if they aren't experts, it's still nice to see someone try and help, I've never had to wait in a long line, they seem to be on top of that. I always keep going back to this place if I need to buy anything asap, it's become one of my favorite places to shop, good work Petsmart! :) read more

I've gone to this Petsmart a hand-full of times to get my dog groomed. Twice my appointments were not accurately logged and almost every time my dog comes back with an ear infection. I've stopped coming here to have my dog groomed. The checkout lines are always so slow! I think on average half my time in the store would be waiting at the checkout line. Even if it's just one person in front of me. However, I've found the floor service is better or else I would've given this place 1 star. Whenever I ask someone on the floor for help in locating an item, most often than not, the person will stop what they're doing and take me there instead of directing me to a random isle. read more

Much like a couple of other customers, this is for the grooming salon ONLY. I took my dog in this past Thursday, February 19, 2015 and got him back a couple hours later. When he got home, I noticed he was scratching quite a bit. I attributed it to a different brand of shampoo but when I was sitting next to my dog, I noticed a flea. I took out his flea comb and brushed 12 fleas out of my poor pooch. I spent hours washing all his sheets, beds and anything he may have come in contact with. When I called the next day and visited the store, the manager at Petsmart seem very "blah" about it, like it's a common occurrence. He said that he probably got the fleas by the time he left the store to the car. I told him I carried my dog and not walked him because I wanted him to remain clean. But he kept saying this was the answer. I think I know my dog a little better than him. I will say they refunded my money back, but what's the point? It was more hassle than it's worth. When I asked him about their practices in sanitizing the cages or crates where they kept them (out of eye-site) after being cleaned and groomed, he said that they were very careful about it. However, I showed him a video that totally disputed what he had said. There are nothing but teenage girls working here. Many inexperienced with minimal to poor training. I'm going to try to post the video I took of my dog. You can see him getting his nails trimmed, with less than 2 feet away another dog is being combed-out. If this is where he got his fleas it's quite evident with hair all around my dog. Would you want your dog going home with fleas and worst off than when you took him/her? The store seems very nice, clean and spacious. Just stay away from the groomers. Never again. read more

Came here to purchase some items for my new puppy and the staff were very friendly and helpful , they even recommended a puppy booklet that's only 20$ !! Which is great because it helped me save a lot of money , they even told me that if my puppy did not like the food they recommend that I can return it ! Today was a little disappointing. I get here and I'm next in line. Evette was on the phone with a customer. When she gets off the phone, she asks the lady behind me if she needs help. She replies no and Evette proceeds to take another phone call. When she hung up she talked to her xo-worker until I asked her "are you going to ask me if I need help?" She laughs and says the phones are busy and she is trying to keep up. What does that have to do with acting as though I wasn't there?? Not sure if it was a race issue but I'm certainly bothered by the fact. She needs to take a class in Keys to Customer Service very soon. Makes me think twice about bringing my baby back. Smh. This review is for the puppy training class only. Do not bother taking your pup to this course. It was a waste of time/money. The trainer, Gina or Jeannie or Jenny or something, didn't seem to be very knowledgeable or enthusiastic. There were only 3 dogs in our class and by the time it ended, there was only 2 pups. Toward the end of the 8 week session the trainer became really flaky. We showed up for a class and apparently the trainer called in sick but no one bothered to call us. The manager apologized. Whatever. Next week we show up, no trainer. This time there was a family emergency. Luckily they had a substitute trainer for us who was much better than Jenny or Jeannie. The following week we show up, no trainer. No explanation this time and no sub. Again, no call beforehand. The manager apologized yet again and gave us a $15 gift card. By this time we were over it. We had 2 classes left to go until graduation but myself and the other pup owners were over it. We never went back. I felt bad that my puppy never got to graduate and get her certificate of completion. I have since registered her in another class through parks and rec. At least she'll get a certificate from this one! Even if the trainer had been better, Petsmart is a difficult place to train puppies. There are too many distractions and too many things to sniff! read more

Our dog started her first training class at 6 months old and, while we had been working on potty training before that with some some success, we had no idea how to tackle behavior and obedience training. After one class with Parhum we knew there was hope and that our little girl would soon be a model citizen. We saw so much progress with the Beginner class that we signed up for the Intermediate and Advanced classes as well. By the time we completed those 18 weeks (each class is 6 weeks) we were eager to sign up for the Tricks class as our dog has come to enjoy seeing Parhum, going to school and getting the special attention from us that comes during training... and the treats didn't hurt either. Parhum is a very gifted trainer and he always seems to have a suggestion to help ease the frustrations of training and make your life easier while making your pup's more enjoyable. He starts every class by asking each owner if they have any questions since the last class, how the progress has been, and if there are any unrelated things they would like to focus on. I can't imagine training without Parhum! read more
