The four of us last played here two years ago. When we checked in with the pro shop and then later with the starter whom both asked if we've played Dunes before we answered confidently a resounding "yes". Holes 1 & 2 felt like we've never played here before. We all said we didn't recall it being so difficult. Is it because we've aged two years? Or because it's a PGA course? We enjoyed the back nine more. And with Hole 18 cart path only, you want to play well as folks lingering or eating at the restaurant can see you. We still had fun even though very challengingand said we'd return. Hit it straight and avoid the rough. Otherwise you may never find your ball. read more

I had visited the bar here a while ago and was finally able to play the course. It is what you would expect for a PGA course; the property is pretty well kept and service at bag drop was great. The inside bar/eating area is very nice with excellent views of the course, not to mention drinks were decently priced ($13 for a Bloody Mary). If you're early, you can use their complimentary driving range, however I found that the ground was rifled with holes making it very uneven and hard to hit off of. If mats were available that would be nice. On to the actual course - greens were nice and appreciated the desert scenery. There are water stations around to keep you hydrated and they give you water bottles as well. There was slightly more water at many of the holes than I expected and if you're like me, be prepared to lose a few balls. Despite my golfing ability, I had a very good time and it was a plus that we found an off-season deal. read more

Played this course the second day it was open- rough was still not cut down which made find a stray ball very difficult - cart path only -greens very slow - love the course design but wish Pro shop would provide a small discount due to conditions read more

Despite the recent flooding and being moved from the Mountain to the Dunes course, we still had a great experience here. The course is beautiful with mountains and desert as a background. The forward tees are a bit shorter than I'm used to at around 4900 yards. There is quite a bit of sand and elevated greens to increase the challenge. While the driving range was closed because of flooding, the rest of the course was in great shape. We are coming back soon to play the mountain course and looking forward to it. read more

Course conditions for the cost to play were ridiculous! Having the "PGA" attached to the course name doesn't give you a free pass on conditions! You should be held to a higher standard! I have played local courses that are in much better condition! The PGA really needs to step up their game! I won't play there again! Too many other courses in Palm Springs that are in much better condition for a more reasonable price! read more

we were excited to play here but were very disappointed. it's way too expensive for this course. slow play and not a very nice track at all.

Everything was great besides the Marshall. We were delayed almost 10 minutes by the starter because they had a pga pro join us. The guy hit his first shot off the tee into the water and then quit. We continue the round, catching up to the group in front of us, which delayed us a bit more. The group behind us starts to catch up and then the Marshall comes up telling us to speed up our pace of play. Mind you, he never said this to the group in front of us. Next time, at least delay the group behind us if you're going to delay my group for a pga pro who isn't punctual. We paid our money and deserve our round without harassment from a delay that was caused by the staff/pga pro. Other than that, course was in excellent condition. Staff in the pro shop and bunker bar were great as well. read more

We were first one out on course starting at 6 am. Starter, and golf concierge were very friendly and provided key information on playing certain holes. He brought water and wet towel out to us as it was 100 degrees. Very enjoyable. Water and ice available on course read more

One of the hardest courses I've ever played but worth it. Came here for a golf trip and wow. Lovely course, great range and very difficult greens. We played with lots of wind that made it more challenging but had so much fun. The food was also good and the staff were very friendly. Lovely course. read more

The greens were rock hard so any shots onto the green bounced off the back. Fairways and tee boxes were good, but overall it wasn't great to be playing in between houses for almost the entire course. Fair value considering free grass range is included. read more

Just played here recently (played Mountain course and Shadow Ridge over a three day weekend). We preferred this course to the Mountain course. Nothing spectacular, but after being disappointed with the Mountain course, this seemed a better deal for the price. Felt it was more playable too. Still a Pete Dye course, which not really a fan of, but didn't seem as overly artificially designed as the Mountain course. Meaning, it seemed to follow the natural landscape as apposed to trying too hard to create rolling hills in the fairways as Mountain course. The pro shop was fine. Nice higher end clothes. Restaurant was fine. Enjoyed some beer after the round. We finished in just over 4 hours, which is pretty good. After not seeing the course marshall but once on the Mountain course the day before, the course marshals were out in force when we played Dunes. Which was nice. Still, no ball washers? No sand for the sand bottles? Carts are decent. No GPS in them, but they seemed new. Overall, would rather play some other courses for the price. read more

Beautiful course. The only issue I had was at the time of check in, I was not informed that there was a tournament. I would of not played the course had I known I was going to play behind a tournament. Whenever I make tee times it's usually mentioned that there's a tournament going on which leads to a longer round than normal. I was solo player. What should of been a 3 hour round turned into a 6.5 hour round. I get to hole 5 and had to wait 15mins to tee off every hole. I ended my round @ hole 14. I requested to speak to manager and left my info for someone to call me in-regards to why I wasn't informed of tournament at check in. Beautiful course! I am very frustrated. It is impossible to reach any staff here. I understand they are closed until next week but when you have a home on the golf course that they manage we should be able to reach someone for concerns. We bought a beautiful home on this golf course and years ago and at that time the lake was managed by LQ resort, that owned and operated the golf course. Since it is now owned and run by PGA West we cannot reach anybody for our concerns about the lake that is at the back of our home. It is overgrown with weeds and looks atrocious. We have mosquitoes and a stench that comes from the lake now. We bought the home specifically because of our view of the lake which now resembles more of a swamp. I would appreciate a phone call from golf course management we'd like the lake filled because it is not monsoon season, and the weeds trimmed before they fill it so that it will cut down on some of the sludge and intern reduce mosquitoes and other critters. And once this is turned back into a lake, I am happy to take down the one star review. read more

Greens were great tee boxes were amazing fairways kept up great and club house awesome!! Golf shop staff was absolutely terrible. They were so rude and made our experience terrible. They flat out ruined our day. Gabriella, who works in the golf shop didn't even hi to us before already starting issues. She took her job so seriously it seemed like her life depended on it. We didn't even get to the golf course yet and we already hated this place. Then to the golf course, it was terrible. There was barely any grass anywhere, and if there was it was covered by lawn clippings. This course clearly doesn't take their maintenance seriously, and it showed. The greens were slow and bumpy, the sand was terrible, and the only reason we kept playing was because we payed. We played the mountain course the day before, and the staff was amazing. Bag staff all around were super helpful and kind. Mountain course was amazing, but being realistic it was just because of the views. The layout was amazing but again the course was just in terrible shape. Maintenance all around seemed like they had no idea how to do their job. Again if Gabriella is in the pro shop I would stay out because you're just going to be treated with disrespect. read more
