I really appreciate that they have vegetarian options, which are really delicious and hit the spot when craving Vietnamese food.

This restaurant is far more modern and cleaner than the Mira Mesa and RB locations. However, parking is an issue and it will be. Just like Dominic's that was here previously. When you find parking you'll find that their menu is a little different than their other restaurants. It's also a little pricier. I usually order the grilled shrimp and crispy egg roll bun but they do not have it here. I decided to just order the crispy egg roll bun. It was served in a smaller, modern bowl but it was still just as good. They have a bar and serve beer but I'm not sure about other alcohol. I've only come here for togo orders but it's always been fast and convenient. I usually order the N4 and pick and choose which toppings to add and also get an order of egg rolls. Ordered rib eye vermicelli. Food was a bit plain as the ratio of Veges was off. Can't put a finger on it, just not super tasty... we wait. The latest incarnation of this local San Diego chain of pho restaurants, of which I am a long time patron of, is easily the best pho in Poway. Granted there are only two pho restaurants currently in Poway. The parking lot feels a bit cramped, with a few spaces out front and more in the back it seems. I came in the evening on a Friday with my two kids and we were seated immediately. Food service was not as fast as their other locations, but by no means slow. Staff were attentive, refilling my water glass several times, which is on par with other similar establishments. Unlike many other asian quick service restaurants, the staff here have been trained to repeatedly check in on customers even after their food has arrived, which was a pleasant surprise. Now for the food! We had 2 orders of spring rolls that came with the usual peanut sauce with a dash of Siracha. The rolls were freshly made because the rice paper was still sticky. Yay! The pho bowls seemed smaller than at other pho locations, like in Mira Mesa. The beef was ample, but the accompanying veggie plate was a bit meager. All three of our pho bowls had a mass of noodle huddled together under the broth which indicates to me that the noodles were cooked and sat in these bowls a bit longer when compared against other places that serve pho. But there was an ample amount of noodle to be eaten considering the bowl size, so kudos to that! The broth was a bit bland than I'm used to and the temperature was not the customary "burn your tongue off" hot that pho is known for. Overall the pho was better than ok, but not as good as this chain's other locations. This location just opened so there's going to be room for improvement. I'll be back! Noticed this location had somewhat lackluster reviews, but craved good Vietnamese food and popped in. Was really pleasantly surprised by the high quality of the Vietnamese BBQ sandwich I had with Vietnamese coffee. My girlfriend enjoyed an XL rare steak Pho, which we shared. Grab one of their tasty beers on tap! 2. Beef stew pho! (Pho Bo Kho) This is a beef stew with thick and fatty pieces of rich beef flavored with lemon grass and spices. 3. Lemongrass grilled ribeye steak pho. (N15 / Pho Bo Nuong Xa) O... M... G! Yes. Very much yes!! This is a hidden gem, and definitely not a flavor I've found anywhere else. There's a smoky charred flavor to the meat that makes it just really umami and flavorful. Mmm... Their "regular" pho is solid here too. The above mentioned two pho dishes are special and worth mentioning because especially the second one is delicious and rare (er... difficult to find. Unintentional meat pun!) Oh, and they have Vietnamese coffee! Really good service, plenty of seating, a clean modern vibe inside the place, and a dedicated parking lot make this place a great choice all-around! read more

I only ever go to this location for the pho. If I want egg rolls, bun (vermicelli noodles bowl), or any other Vietnamese dish - I'll take the drive into Mira Mesa instead or even City Heights. Whenever I order pick up by calling in, I always order in Vietnamese because I figured it would be so much easier for whoever is taking my order to understand. That was never the case for this location, there always seem to be some sort of disconnect trying to order in English or Vietnamese! (Mind you, my first language is Vietnamese) it should've been a ten minute phone call, at most, turns into 30 mins of just trying to order. My most recent pick up, yesterday, the lady taking my phone order couldn't understand I was asking for some dessert (Three colored dessert/che) she couldn't understand so we decided to add it on when we went to pick up the food. Mind you, this dessert literally takes seconds to make because everything should be prepped. They told us it would be an extra 20 minute wait, for them to scoop the dessert into a cup with a lid. And they filled up half of the cup with just ice! Also, I'm curious because I always see young workers that can speak and understand English well. Not sure why the amount of negative reviews exist. I live near by an older location and this one is by far cleaner and puts out better food than the one I am used to. We usually order ahead and pick up food to go to enjoy with my Mother In Law due to COVID. We have jumped all over the menu. We have been to the same chain in Mission Valley where the robots bring your food to you, then someone comes over to unload the robot, then they both peel off. This place in Poway, the server follows the robot around (generally). So what's the actual point? The funny part was, my friend who thought the robot servers were an abortion, actually had one of the robots malfunction directly behind him. Just sat there bumping into his chair with a blank "face" playing music. It was amazing. Unlike the food. We have been here maybe 6 times . It is consistently inconsistent. 2 of our party ordered Pho Tai and finished. One ordered fried rice and only ate half, and I ordered grilled pork bun. The grilled pork here is like a pork meatloaf which was unexpected compared to other thin cut grilled pho places in SD. The eggrolls were typical, kinda pasty in a nuclear oily she'll. Taste was decent though. And the spring rolls were only ok if you put the peanut sauce on in large quantities.the meat was slightly chewy and bland in the spring rolls. Service was quick to start and slow to finish, and we were simply awestruck by the robots passing centimeters away from patrons. I never got a refill on my soda and had to call out during our payment for a box to take my meatloaf noodles home. It isn't terrible. Writing this review as I still wait for my food at their establishment for a to go order I placed at 6p, and arrived here at 6:30 to come pick it up. It's Pho. There's 4 or so groups here eating currently. This is the second time the take out experience has been absolutely terrible. Don't want to hear this under staffed excuse. None of the employees even come up to check, or apologize for the delay. Last time I ever come here, it's really too bad. Everything was correct on the screen I was happy with my service, tipped and left for a lil bit. When I came back to pick up my order, the servers were dealing with an issue but ignored me for a few minutes before I asked for my order. Horrible service. Went in for lunch this afternoon and it wasn't busy at all. Not even a minute after we sat down the pushy server asked us for our order. Since my daughter and I have been there before we did know what we wanted. They only time we were approached by the server was when we ordered, when she brought the food, and then when she gave us the check. We ordered the rice vermicelli with pork, shrimp And lemongrass beef, also pho with brisket, and flank steak, I got the pcd garden wings the flavor is nice and tasty but ask for the sauce on the side, also the drinks are refreshing. Had the mango tropical refreshment and lychee smoothie, for the finale had the 3 bean with crushed ice And coconut milk , I enjoyed this on a hot day. Nice new addition to Poway! I've always enjoyed Pho Ca Dao, so having one close to work is a treat. The food is served up quickly and the decor is fresh. I ordered the grilled ribeye bun. This is similar to a salad topped with cool vermicelli noodles. I like that they serve the fish sauce on the side, so I can control the flavor. There was a good amount of beef too! Please read this review until the end for health information. The first time we went here was to go order 2 and half years ago when we order their pho... it was so blain that we did not come back until now when our favorite pho place in Poway closed on Sunday. The second time we came, there was only 3 small family in the restaurant and it took the waitress about 15 mins to give us our menus and water while they looked at us multiple times before then. We brushed it off and try to be understanding so we ordered our meals. After we ate the Pho, it was okay, my bun Bo hue noodles was over cooked and the texture was mushy like baby food grade noodles. It was blain so sriracha, hoisin sauce and sate fixed it. My fiancé's pho Bo kho was pretty good though. Portion was small for a regular (I mean it). A little after we left we feel extremely thirsty at first, then we feel extremely exhausted and our body was shutting down even with 8 hours of sleep. We went the third time because it is the closest one to us that was open and the same thing happened!! These noodles must have A TON of MSG to make us feel like this. I've eaten many soups in Vietnam that have MSG but never make me feel as horrible as this place does. Please if you have time to go to Mira Mesa to get pho on a Sunday, do so, or the other pho in Poway on weekdays and Saturday. This is not worth it if you have a long day of work. This is not worth your kids health and they will surely be super dehydrated so make sure they drink plenty of water. read more

My bf and I both ordered pho and the vegetables that came on the said were all wilted too. I was disappointed. Broth and pho was good but it seems that they can't get fresh vegetables here. Ordered "to go" inside the restaurant. The "N5 well done brisket soup" was plenty enough for two with a lot of meat and noodles. All ingredients, which are broth, noodles, meat, sprouts, green onion, soup sauce, lime and mint were packed separately. I mixed them all together at home and boiled for a couple of minutes. The soup was very flavorful and delicious. I didn't include the mint and lime in my soup, but used it later in my tea. The other dish we ordered were the spring rolls. We have never tried the spring rolls before. They are rice rolls with grilled chicken, pork and shrimps inside. The rolls are large and look good. We found the rice cover is sticky and chewy, but if you like the spring rolls you might find it tasty. It seems they can use more staff in the reception area to take orders. read more

Definitely a location of one of my favorite Pho spots that still needs to iron out the kinks. Understandable since this is a new chain that recently opened up in Poway but for those used to the speed and seasoned staff of the Mira Mesa location, you may be better off frequenting there instead. Staff needs to work on being a bit more attentive and learning to deal with busy crowds, especially during peak lunch hours. Food was ok. I ordered their spring rolls which wasn't anything to write home about but was decent. Hubby thought his lemongrass pork chop was alright but a bit on the fatty side. And did prices go up and did portions shrink? Or are my eyes deceiving me? I need to compare to the other locations to be sure. It just wasn't as good as the Mira Mesa and RB locations to me which was a disappointment. But since the location is close during work hours, I may give them another shot due to pure convenience...but ONLY if I'm craving spring rolls and pho. Parking is the size of a postage stamp.
