I don't typically complain. I've written one negative review before this in my life. I waited 2 hours for a sandwich at noon on a Wednesday. Once 2 hours was up and I had asked when our food should be out for a second time, I asked for the check. Poor kid behind the bar just started working there and management allowed him to take heat the whole time I was there, managing the entire inside of the restaurant. This is a reflection on the people that manage and own the place, not the people listening to my complaints and concerns. The cook was in the back screaming at everyone to stop sitting people. The sandwich that took 2 hours and 20 minutes to come out was probably a 5 out of 10. Management, don't bother with the response that says "sorry about your experience, please try us again". This is a you problem, not the problem of the people working hard to make you money. read more

Disregard the lower ratings... this place was a hidden gem in the middle of nowhere. Some of the best seafood and Im from Boston. Food was fresh. I wanted to like this restaurant, especially since they have a vegan menu but I wasn't thrilled with my experience there in all honesty. They were out of jackfruit (which was 2 of the less than 10 vegan menu options). The restaurant wasn't air conditioned at all inside it was barely tolerable and not the most sanitary. The waiter was super nice though. I had the vegan crunch wrap and it was decent..not amazing, but good enough. My friends had the southwest burger and vegan lo mein and said the same about the food being decent but nothing mind blowing. Since it's arrival, I have never once been disappointed by any dish served at this establishment. I have purposefully switched things up to try to find a fault and by Jove, I simply can NOT! Atmosphere was good. Sat outside due to COVID but inside would be too hot anyway. Staff was cheerful. Food was ok, not great. I knew better than to order seafood when the ocean is not local. They say it's all hand breaded but it looks and tasted like pre-breaded/frozen food, including the apps. The Alfredo was soupy. My daughter said the salmon was good. Monday night, early, we parked across the street and entered. Really a cozy..the lights were awesome..the bulb type hanging on a cord, lots of them making a nice dining experience. We waited at the door to be seated..but were told to sit anywhere, and the menus were on the tables. Michelle, our waitress came and told us the specials and then took our drink order. Before we finished reading the menu, she was back with drinks. He ordered the blackened chicken sandwich with a side of broccoli. I had the chicken tender basket, with 2 sides fries and cole slaw. Michelle listed the dipping sauces, I picked blue cheese. The table we picked was against the large glass garage door, giving you the sense of being on sidewalk. Really quaint. Before we knew it our food arrived...hot and plenty. His sandwich was enormous, full chicken breasts, not one half butterflyed, but two attached breasts that were blackened to perfection, hiding the lettuce and tomatoes and even the bottom bun!!! Juicy and tender chicken My tender basket was ample as well. At least 15 crispy juicy tenders. Not loaded with batter but a crispy light coating. The frys and slaw were perfect. Blue cheese dipping sauce..loaded with hunks of cheese. Michelle came to our table at least 4 times to see if we needed anything, refills on our coffees, and just being courtious. Excellent service. There is a fenced in patio streetside with tables. A take out window for pick ups. The menu is extensive, from different tacos: chicken, fish and others. Salads, dinners, burgers, seafood...sides can be added at an additional but nice variety....something for everyone at very reasonable prices. Desserts and ice creams...to finish off, IF you have room left. Highly recommended. Decent priced for abundent wholesome food. Try it...you'll go back for sure. There is a fully stocked bar at the end of the dining area. Didnt have liquor..dont know prices... We waited a significant amount of time before we even saw an employee. Nobody took our name or number. We were told we could sit wherever we wanted, we chose the furthest table away from the other people dining. The next table was seated directly behind us 3 feet from us. I ordered the Vegan Lo Mein which was supposed to be loaded with vegetables for the price of $13. I requested the addition of grilled shrimp which I was told would add $8.00 to the dish with four jumbo shrimp. Ok. So, what I got was the Lo Mein with two tiny broccoli flowerettes, some red peppers and onions and my four shrimp. I was lead to believe it would have "tons" of assorted vegetables. When I pointed this out to the server, she said they forgot to put in the whole bag of broccoli and then also charged us $25 for my dish. They also forgot to add the other vegetables, too. Awful service. Food is alright but service ruins the night. We have sat for almost two hours and have no food. The waitress asked my friend how she wanted her chicken cooked which doesn't make any sense because chicken should be cooked all the way through. Fajitas were served with no salsa nor sour cream. Other food served was stone cold. No utensils were dispersed to us. They forgot one member of our party's order completely, didn't even bring it out by the time the rest of us were already done eating. We spoke to the manager she told us she would check on everything and be right back, she never came back but helped tables behind us. I got an appetizer and a meal, the waitress brought my checks out separately when I was paying for both with the same card. Manager was SO rude. This place needs John Taffer. In the nicer weather this place is always busy as there's a lot of outdoor seating. We've been meaning to stop in, and decided to this last weekend despite the mixed reviews. The chicken wings and fries were great. The salad with grilled chicken and soup were ok. If we go back it would be for the fried bar type food. We didn't have drinks but they had a menu of $8-12 fish bowls and stuff if you're into that. Makes sense for the college crowd. Service was friendly. Despite our server really managing all of the tables in the restaurant, she was pretty attentive. Really the 3 stars are for a dirty water glass and ok food. read more

Our travels brought us to Plymouth mid-afternoon and we stopped at Phat Fish for lunch. Weather was nice enough for patio seating but we opted for a table just inside the open garage doors. Fresh air but out of the sun, the best of both worlds. The décor was eclectic industrial with personality. Between artwork and the open-air view there was plenty to look at. The staff was friendly, service was fast and efficient, and the food was great. We ordered three appetizers (chicken tenders, onion rings, & mozzarella sticks) and a shrimp basket (comes with two sides) to share between four adults and there was plenty to go around. Overall the food and portions were acceptable for the price. The reason for the low review would have to be the service. This place is a seat-your-self restaurant. So we found an empty table and sat down, only to wait around 20 minutes for a server to welcome us and offer us a drink. I don't know if the place was understaffed but we were 2 minutes from leaving and walking down the street to a different restaurant for dinner. After that, the server was friendly but did forget our chowder (which was potato heavy but very tasty). Shrimp tacos were inedible from wayyyy too much salt in the marinade. Everyone at our table tried it to see if he was exaggerating... it burnt out my tastebuds! The only disappointment were the french fries very small quantity for the extra charge of $2.50. My wife had the grilled scallops and homemade potatoe chips both excellent. My friends and I stopped here when we visited the White Mountains, and this was one of the few dining options near Plymouth/Campton. Without having high expectations, this place turned out to be pretty great. First, they are known for their personal fishbowls, which came in a variety of fun flavors and are surprisingly strong! Their menu was also extensive, and if you're a starving tourist like me, it will all probably sound amazing. I ordered their Chicken Platter with the chicken blackened, which is a pretty good option if you want to veer on the healthy side and avoid the fried items on the menu. The portions are also massive, which is always a plus. The waitresses are also super nice and really warmed me up to the small town locale. Overall, while Phat Fish wouldn't be an amazing restaurant in the grand scheme of all restaurants, if you're in the Plymouth area and need to eat, I would definitely recommend! There were empty tables outside that were very acceptable, yet we were seated next to the open window of the kitchen, allowing us to hear the chef the entire time we were seated. When we asked if we could move to another table, we were told no (they do not take reservations, so these empty tables were available). It took over ten minutes to have our drink order taken, another ten minutes to take our food order. When we were asked if we wanted another round we said "maybe" when our meal was served. We got another round served to us anyways, but still no meal. After repeatedly asking where our food was, it never appeared. Excellent Service, the waitress we had was attentive with out hovering and did not make us feel rushed. The Chefs/Cooks are excellent also, their attention to detail was amazing. Everything was fresh and made in house, not from a can or jar. The food was not over seasoned, I could actually taste the food! All together a very nice place for an informal meal.
