It is really hard to ensure the food served at one location is as good at the second. I want to say they did just that. The quality and taste of the food is great just like the original location. I always say this, try the kitchen sink. It is amazing. I was able to watch a wood cup game and it was not too loud. The theme is hip-hop both locations. Omg, Albuquerque! Get on in to Phat Stax and keep this place busy because it is frickin GOOD. Service is amazing--she greeted us right away and remembered all of our orders with accommodations accurately. Food came out fast and perfect. Our table had the GCheezy (gc cheeseburger), 2Pac, Notorious BLT, and Foxy Brown. The 3 burgers were all amazing. Perfect smash burgers, crispy edges and juicy middles. Toppings fresh and plentiful and perfectly suited the names. The FB chicken sandwich was only mid, and my dd didn't care for the ranch. But everyone else left full and happy. And omg, the Xmas fries are totally worth the upgrade!! I'm going to be craving those bigtime. Loved the 90s R&B vibes too. Great concept, awesome food. Stopped by to this new location. There is a nice large parking lot which sometimes would discourage us from going to the other location but parking was easy to get here. It was a Tuesday so my son ordered the Tupac which is discounted like 15-20% on tuesdays... I ordered the g cheezy and that was delicious as well! We enjoyed all the old albums, games, and art on the wall.... The service was also unmatched! It's become one of our new favorite burger spots! read more

Decided to try this place out as we have been craving a good burger for a few days now and happen to discover it as we drove past it yesterday. I ordered a 2 pac which had really good flavor although the bottom bun was soggy/wet. Aside from that no complaint there. The fries that came with it were not hot but ok. We also ordered an OPP with onion rings. Burger was really tasty but the onion rings were old & cold. I ordered the lil wayngz with raspberry red chili sauce(great flavor). There was only one lady working the front counter & tables but she was friendly and was helpful with any questions I had. The place had a nice vibe with tv's & video games. We live in the neighborhood behind and saw the sign pop up this week. Decided to give it a try. The kids were stoked to have games to play. I had G-Cheezy (green chile double cheeseburger) and it was delicious! We will be back! They are still new and working through that, but I anticipate this'll quickly be a local favorite! Service was pretty good - more laid back bc only one person working front of house; gave us a chance to take in the space! Fun throwback to rappers from back in the day, lots of references and pics; video games! Food was decent - chicken was perfectly cooked and the smash burgers looked good, I wasn't a fan of the cheese but personal preference. The fries were awesome - wish the mustard and ketchup were smaller bottles. Really want to try a couple more of their chicken options and they have loaded dogs and fries!! Had their loaded fries one time at their Nob Hill location, always meant to go back for burgers just never did. While I'm sad that Hot Mess is closed I'm hella stoked that Phat Stax is in the location. Had the simple S.P.M with Green Chile added perfect. The lady taking orders was friendly and great, I loved that they have mustard on the table for your fries so you can eat them like an adult with out ketchup. Plenty of space, video games, and the art is great. Trying to not go back for dinner tonight, hopefully my willpower will fail me and I'll get the Stuffed Thots when I return for dinner. read more

We arrived at 5 pm. The parking lot had plenty of spaces available. I asked if this was the same as the Nob Hill location, and she told me it was, with only a few differences. For one, if you wanted to order take out, then you order at the counter, but if you want to dine in, then you can be seated. Nob Hill only does counter service. The second difference is that this location has milkshakes. There was plenty of seating available to us to choose from. The waitress asked for our order pretty quickly after being seated, and we weren't ready yet. It took her a good 20 minutes to get back around to us after an influx of to-go orders. I ordered Baby Got Mac and my husband ordered Kid Curdi. It didn't take long at all for the food to come out, and it was steaming hot. I loved that the fries were in their own mini basket. They were also nicely salted. I got going on that burger, it was pretty darn good. My husband felt like maybe his gravy on his was a little too salty, which is odd from him, he likes the salt. The waitress was attentive to our drinks. I checked out the bathroom for this review, it was clean and smelled clean. They had some video game machines along the wall, one customer took advantage of playing one while we were there. I would go back. read more

It was pretty good. Ordered the burger with jalapeño and cream cheese cuz I'd never had cream cheese in a burger. I couldn't tell the difference don't know if it was me or not enough cream cheese. It was reasonably priced about $15 for burger and fries which in today's world is reasonable. Service was good. The food was very tasty. Burgers were cooked perfectly and not salty or over seasoned. We were a party of four and ordered a variety of burger options. All were very good. I got a single, thinking a double would be too much, but it was so good that I was wishing I'd gone all in. (Next time for sure!) The French fries were hot, crisp outside and soft inside, and lightly salted - phenomenal! It has been a long time since a place in Albuquerque served up some proper fries. Adding to the special, they serve them in a miniature fry basket. The portion sizes were good, being plenty without needing to take a doggy bag or leave anything uneaten. The service was quick and patient. She answered all our first-timer questions. Later she came back multiple times to check on us. The food took a little bit because it is made fresh. I think it was maybe 15 or 20 minutes. If you're in a hurry, call ahead and do their takeout option. The hiphop themed decor is not my thing, but it was not overwhelming and I still found it interesting.
