The service representative told me " Your car will be ready within ten minutes!" I heard that same line 4 times over the span of 90 minutes. All your department had to do was check the "Check Engine Light" and then went on some rant that it was my fault the light went on because the gas light came on, which really made me, one of your customers feel like a POS and an idiot, so thanks... I can try to understand the need for a double warning on the car but what I don't understand is that I was not only invalidated as a customer because your team lied to me and wasted my time. Also, when i tried to schedule an appointment, your team was very dismissive and blasé over the phone which is just poor business practices. I explicitly gave a time when I would be arriving and they said "Yeah just come on in" only to make me feel more at fault when an associate critically responded " You should've made an appointment" then left the area. This was a terrible customer service experience overall and I will be reconsidering bringing my car back to Phil Smith KIA. If you guys are going to respond by saying, GIVE US a CALL, why don't you guys do your jobs and follow up and don't rely on the customer to follow up with you, that's making the experience even worse. read more

I was in the market for a Kia Soul but when I went on the Phil Smith website, it demanded I supply my email address and phone number (when I came to home address I shut it down). All I wanted was basic information about availability and I'm being asked to give up personal information BEFORE they will allow me to see anything. THEN, I immediately get a sales email. Before I can finished unsubscribing and deleting, I get a personal phone call. Some people might find this "folksy"; I find it "creepy". Next time just give me the information I want. read more

Shame on you Phil Smith Kia. If your $1,300 dealer fee and $995 "shop get ready" weren't repugnant enough, delivering a flawed body repair is simply a ripoff. The back story is that we helped a friend buy a car from this dealer (we lent her the downpayment.) The car fax noted the car had been in a minor accident. The salesperson assured us they (Phil Smith) would repair it and make it like new. They did a crap job using one of the dent repair companies (not a real body shop) It wasn't until she got the car home the lousy work was evident. Phil Smith Kia just furthered the reputation of some car dealers screwing over the consumer, and in this case ripping off a vulnerable woman by over promising and under delivering. In the same week I bought a new car from a King family dealership (Coconut Creek Hyundai) and they did everything possible to make it a good experience. They were honorable. Not Phil Smith Kia. I just wish I could do 0 star...let me explain what happened, this morning I was driving to FedEx store and some warning lights came on, check abs, line assists, front and back cameras. I did stop and called the service department(they should change the name to NO SERVICE DEPARTMENT) and they told me they did not accept any walk in and the next appointment will be in 2 weeks +. I have been going to Phil Smith Kia for years. I have bought 2 Sorento's from there and I have to say the quality of their customer service has dropped so low that I have changed to a different dealership for my needs. When I was in there on July 24th to have my multi-function switch replaced, they said they did not order it, when the manager of the Parts Department was standing right there, took the phone from the service rep and told me he would go and order it right then. He did not do that. I got very upset and ask if I could speak with the service manager and he came and assured me that he would take care of this himself and took the order and wrote my name and number at the top and said he would call the minute the part came in. To the day, 8/30/23, I have yet to hear from anyone and have left 2 messages for him to call and update me. I will be taking my business elsewhere. So to be clear-this review is NOT about cost, or wait time...or any of the things that people typically write about car dealership service centers. I am fully aware that every institution is running with low staff and under stress. What this review is about is the way a customer is treated and made to feel when seeking service. I had a screw in my tire. I attempted to get it fixed by a regular ol' tire shop but because Kia did not replace the tire key previously I was forced to return to them. No one plans for a tire issue...so the ability to make an appointment is not possible. I drove in and explained that the only reason I was showing up unannounced is because I had a screw that couldn't be removed by anyone else. (Because they didn't replace the tire key). I was then lectured about how not having an appointment would mean that I will wait over 2 hours because after all I wasn't more important than anyone else. He also proceeded to write in giant letters on my ticket that I had NO APPOINTMENT! No shit Sherlock! You think I just felt like strolling in for a visit to a car dealership?! He also was sure to tell me that he was doing me a favor by fixing my tire...Had your crew returned my tire key in the first place I wouldn't be here! As a customer I should feel confident in my car repair place for regular service but also definitely in times of distress. I shouldn't feel punished for showing up without an appointment. If something goes wrong there should only be one place that I think to take my car--after today that is definitely not the case. read more

They charge $799 dealer fee, $999 car prep fee and some other BS fees but they had to have added Freon to sell it if the compressor was empty in such a short time. Just another dealership that takes advantage of women. As everyone can see less than a week ago I paid almost $50 for a oil change however my engine light just turned on. Checked my oil, it is not only low but dark and black. If I had a jack I would have change the oil myself, or pay a different place $25 for oil change not 50. To top it off, I have a warranty for the vehicle. All four windows came off the tracker and they change my appointment four different times because they didn't have all the parts at the same time. In my paperwork clearly states that I had a oil change and maintenance check on it. They obviously can care less about you or your car they wait until messes up for you to turn it back into them. I'll be there first thing in the morning after I call the police. Now I'm worried about how my car is going to work in the future. Thanks a lot kia. If I can give you 0 stars I will. I made the mistake of co-signing my DAUGHTERS loan on a car she was FORCED to buy when they told her the cost to fix her Sportage was astronomical, which left her with no choice. Less than two weeks went by until they started to call ME for service appointments along with other calls. Who needs service on a new car? When I told them that I drive a CAMRY and they are calling me in error, they apologized, saying they would fix the error. Two more calls came within a week, one being a programmed cal electronically. At the same time I received mail about my new car. Then the next day another one about their finance company, and finally another letter with payment instructions. I called Kia, and was told that the dealer had set it up that way, and that I had to go through a system to have it changed. Then, when I called the dealership asking for the salesman, I was sent to an answering machine for someone else. When I called back again, I got a human, who told me that they would make sure that he called as soon as he got back into their office. That was more than 8 hours ago, and nothing was done. Doing business with this dealership is taking a chance like a lottery. If you're one in 17 million, you'll be a winner, otherwise get ready for aggravation.
