We had to get towed to the closest Kia location and it was unfortunately on new year's day.. There were employees available but the service center was closed. We were extremely nervous of everything that could be wrong and had never been to this location. The way they immediately addressed us and assured us they would help would have made one think that they themselves sold us the car. Devon worked with us the most upon arrival and has a genuine care for us as Kia Owners. He turned us over to Scott who would be the one taking care of the service process. Scott called at the time promised and worked all day to address our problem and worked hard for the best outcome as possible. We are still in the process of having our Kia fixed but, feel like we have honest and caring service (which is rare these days) This location is not the closest to where we live but, we have decided to take our car here for the future for oil changes and when we are ready to buy a second car later this year this will definately be our spot and who we deal with read more

Service was good after two hour wait and having an appointment. Be careful, the specials they offer online I don't believe are accurate. I went with the coupon expecting to pay 99 for an alignment and they charged me 168. That's more than 50% higher than I've ever paid for an alignment with any car I've ever owned. I know when you find the car you want you will go where ever you need to and that's what I did. I am sooo disappointed in the dealership and the management I decided to walk out on the car I waited for. We had agreed on a good faith estimate over the phone and they had listed the car I wanted but Told me that they have to have it inspected which took two weeks because it was missing a wire, no problem I waited. I got the good faith estimate from the manager and when the car was ready, I went in thinking I was purchasing that car with my price agreed upon. Then the sales guy brings in an estimate that was 600.00 over what we talked about and shook hands on. Then I find out that the car wasn't a one car owned like I wanted to purchase but someone came in and had bought the car and brought it back within four days and damaged it. The manager wanted to pass that cost onto me. This is just bad business I recommend if you need to buy a Kia go somewhere else. Bad management. Kias are great cars but go else where. read more

Really disappointing experience. The price they advertise online is not the true price of the car. I went to purchase a used car yesterday and the price advertised online was $13899.00. Then when it came time to complete the purchase, they added $2,450.00 and called it a "reconditioning fee." That is an increase of almost 20% over the advertised price. This is a deceptive business practice and I suggest that you don't reward a company that operates in this manner with your business. Go buy your car somewhere else. read more

Purchased a 2019 Ford day, advertised with 3259 miles on it, was sent all the paperwork since I am out of state to sign, should have realized there was no concern for detail when names were spelled incorrectly and labeled incorrectly on numerous papers , when I question the sales rep and his manager about my name being listed where my sons name should be listed next to his drivers license number they both stated we get our paperwork from a third-party and can't change it, obviously I did not sign those documents, all paperwork including odometer certification that was sent to the DMV stated 3259 miles, sent my son to pick up the car upon review of this particular vehicle the odometer read over 4900 miles, sales rep says maybe and employee was using it? I mentioned to him the federal odometer I act that was passed in 1972 made this practice illegal and I would like to speak to a manager, he stated since I quoted the statute that they had violated they will not do business with me because of the liability of their error. Completely amazed that no managers will except or return my phone call, refused to speak to me because of their error or their bait and switch. I purchased at least one car a year minimum I have never dealt with more unprofessionalism in my life. Worst experience ever. We called about a vehicle and were told the manager would call us back. He called us back and talked down to us saying there is no way we will give you a car at that price! You need to start looking in a waaaay lower price range. The next day we called to talk to him again and he would not even return our call. He told someone to call us back and tell us we should come in and he "will see to it personally" that he "will make us happy." We went in, the wrong car was brought for us to see and it was FILTHY!! He never once came out to talk to us and gave us a price that is $2,500 more than another dealer for the same car. Don't waste your time with this place. Had two warning lights on dash. The service advisor(Scott) told me I'd have to leave the car, or schedule for the next day. I said I couldn't leave the car. He told me that when I come back, he was going to charge me $230 right at the start for "diagnostic labor." (1 hr. for each warning light) I got on a Kia forum and found a guy with the exact same problem and a commenter suggesting a fix. Turns out it was a blown fuse; 7-cents. Phil Smith Kia wanted to charge me $230 to walk in the door, even though a competent mechanic could have found & corrected the problem in like 10 minutes! And, with their rip-off attitude, I doubt it would have only been $230. On another day, I took my car there for a Kia recall check. After the check, the guy bringing my car to me backed into another car! Luckily(for Them!) there was no damage. This place gives dealers a bad name. read more

Still fighting to get 10 HARD INQUIRES (9 were un-authorized) HARD INQUIRES OFF my credit report that they put on during a 3 month span.... after I bought the car - they gave me the wrong car - and then continued to run my credit attempting to fix the mistakes. 3 new contracts later, a strange woman who bought a different car receiving my account numbers and SSN - (she found me on facebook to tell me) Temp tag that wasn't for the right car --figure that out when my 70 year old Grandmother was pulled over for attaching wrong tag to a car -- its been nothing but HELL!!!! Beware. Check every little thing on your lease contract. Because, you know, a lease has a LOT of very fine print, and if you have any assumptions that a dealership will treat you with any kind of respect, in this case you would be wrong. There is a thing I just discovered that's called a "loyalty" program that means if you lease a car through Phil Smith Kia (it might be any Kia dealership, but that's another story), you will pay an extra $400 at the end of your lease if you don't buy or lease another Kia here! Charging you to guarantee your loyalty??? Welcome to 'merica in the 2000's. Also, you might assume that you are getting a 3- year/36000 mile lease because, in BIG print, that's the service program you've signed up for. But guess what? In tiny little print it says you've signed up for a 10,000/year lease. So when they smile at you and put their hand out for another 20 cents a mile over your limit, they must be expecting 0 stars on their review (wish I could take that one star out). Oh, and when your battery dies after year 2 and you call up to get service (the 800 # is right there on the window for your security and all), and the service manager tells you they won't be able to take your car for at least 24 hours so you're a little bit stranded miles from home, don't be at all surprised because I'm warning you right here. In other words, those shiny new Kia's might look good and pretty inexpensive, but at the end of your lease, you'll know better. I sure do. Shame on you, Mr. Smith. You must not want repeat business even if you try to charge for it. read more

Dealing with Neil Stokes was by far the most painful experience I've had in my life and I've shattered both my femurs before. His blatant lying and disregarding for actual facts is honestly surprising to say the least. I have never seen someone so confidently incorrect in their life. Claiming he is the only one with a specific trim of the stinger in the whole state of Florida in some weird power move. If you disregard the other 20 dealers who have the same car and have given me quotes. He even goes so far as to claim they don't even have the car even after seeing it on their lot first hand. I heard good things about Phil Smith Kia, but I haven't even stepped in the door and there were too many red flags. I wouldn't be shocked if I sat down and found multiple errors in pricing in an attempt to pull one over me. Seriously. Stay away, it's not worth it. Phil Smith Kia is a disreputable dealership. We spent time with a salesman (Charles, however, was "5 stars") and made a deal on a new Kia Soul. The negotiation was finalized through a manager. Once we agreed with the manager we wrote a check in full for the agreed-upon amount and they took it, around 6:30 in the evening. The transaction paperwork was to be finalized the next day. The next day we got a call saying that we were not eligible for two rebates they included in the deal and that we must come up with another $2,000.00. We expressed our intense displeasure, disappointment and that their action was unprofessional and told them that the deal was off and that we would come to pick up the check. When we came to get the check we were made to wait 20 minutes, while the manager and his manager were eating lunch (we could see them). When we confronted them they said that "someone upstairs" was getting it. After another 10 minutes, we confronted them again and were told that the check was already processed and that we would have to wait for it to clear before they would issue us a check. That was four days ago and we have not heard a single word from them since we walked out empty-handed. Those actions and in-actions are disreputable and unprofessional. I would NEVER recommend this dealership for anything. STAY AWAY FROM PHIL SMITH KIA IN POMPANO, FL. Another thing that is annoying about Phil Smith KIA (that is also true about all of the FL car dealers we have dealt with over the years) is an add-on "dealer fee". Phil Smith's amount is $899. Others are around $1,000 and some luxury dealers charge way more. So you negotiate a deal with the dealer and agree on a price. Then they add the fees and taxes, one of which is this ridiculous "dealer fee" and your "out-the-door" price is around $3,000 more than your negotiated deal. When asked to explain this fee, we have never gotten an adequate explanation. They have said things like they have to "cover their overhead" and "keep the lights on". Those are things that should be covered by the price of the car you negotiated. Not only are they getting the $1,000 dealer fee, they are also getting a 3% kickback from the manufacturer called a "hold-back", but they also get other factory-to-dealer incentives which means they make plenty on each car sold. In the Phil Smith Kia dealer showroom, there are two huge posters of a smiling Phil Smith donating $7 million to a hospital and $5 million to some other charity. He got that because we saps have agreed to pay those ridiculous dealer fees, but we've also let them nickel and dime us on making a "deal" and skimping on what is provided to their customers. I took my mother's 2012 Kia Sportage to Phil Smith Kia to have the AC checked as it was blowing warm air. The following day I was contacted by the service dept and advised the vehicle needed an entire new AC system at a cost of approx. $2k !! Knowing a little about cars myself ( my father, brother and son are mechanics) I told the service person I couldn't believe that and suspected it was the actuator. He insisted it needed an entire new AC. I picked up the car that day. I have since taken it to my local mechanic and low and behold, it is the actuator. I went from a repair costing approx. $2K to a repair costing approx. $200.00 This dealership is not an honest one. I would NEVER walk into their business ever again much less purchase anything from them. Taking advantage of a senior citizen and a woman is not a good way to conduct a business. When I went there, I had a Hyundai and my lease was up, I was told by the sale guy that because Hyundai and Kia Finance had merged , that Hyundai would wave the drop off fee that was $400. Two weeks later I received a bill for that amount and after speaking to the finance company, was put into collections. Went in the next afternoon and waited an HOUR for a woman in the service center to come inside and tell me we don't have that part in stock. No apologies were made by her. Last time I went for service they had burgers and hotdogs outside, no question about a warranty item (roof rails corroding), friendly, coffee and donuts, bottled water, and felt like the service rep was looking out for me and my vehicle.
