Pork Ribs Dinner with baked beans and macaroni salad
    Marian G.

I was craving some BBQ for the NFL draft. I thought of coming here. I order the pork dinner (5 ribs) with two sides. The sides are so small it's unbelievable. The portion of sides is ideal for two ribs not five ribs. I had macaroni salad and baked beans. The pork BBQ was tender and the sauce was mild and tasty. The order was complete and handled to me fast. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This is a walk up and order BBQ. No dining in.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Parking is tight.

Ordered a two meat combo: ribs and sliced beef with potato salad and beans. Generous portion of meats, sliced beef was overcooked and dry (think: texture of canned beef), ribs were 'tender' yet dry. The sides were 2oz containers. Potato salad had good flavor but potatoes were too big. Beans tasted like canned beans that were doctored up. Jose took my order, who was really nice.

You have got to try this spot! Everything is flavorful you'll be very satisfied with the combination dinner! I wanted the deluxe dinner but came too late! The chicken was all gone. But I was still satisfied with the rib tibs and beef.

Walking into Phillips take out only the lady at the window greeted us with a warm smile very pleasant. We ordered ribs, links, Mac & cheese, potato salad, and corn on the cob. My mom enjoyed the links and very much garlic Mac & cheese and potato salad. The ribs were not smoked or bbqued they tasted like they were boiled and then put in the oven they could have cooked a little longer they were ok tasting, the corn was boiled too no salt, seasoning or butter I got 2 corns one tasted funny and I woke up a little sick the next morning. May or may not be back.

I'm glad they open on a Monday!! Came in today for my BBQ fixed. Sliced beef lunch (at 6:39) with baked beans and a canned soda. Good, honest, nostalgic food. Parking can be tense however it's worth it. Wait isn't long either and staff is friendly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambiance is simple with a couple benches for waiting.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Food 5/5 Ambiance 5/5 Staff Friendliness 5/5

Has always been my favorite barbecue and Los Angeles. I always get the beef flakes or I get beef links and sliced beef and ribs. It's always great. I've been coming here since I was a child.

    Nicely packed

This place has some of the best spicy sausage links I've every tried. Make sure you give those a try. Spicy rib tips also are killer.

Best take-out BBQ in Los Angeles. It's pricey, but good bbq isn't cheap. I stop there every time I'm in the neighborhood.

Ask the Community - Phillips Bar B Que

Is this a dine in or just take out restaurant?

    Take out only

I called Phillips BBQ and the worker said those are the apps the restaurant uses. If the restaurant can't keep up with that, then what's the point? It's not the app that advertises for itself, it does that for the restaurant.

Restaurants have no control or input on the driver situations. That is completely handled by the app you're using.

How do you place an order? The phone line is always busy.

The only other way is via Postmates.

Pleasantly surprised by this little gem. We ordered the meal deal which included a sandwich with…read moreyour choice of meat, a small side and a drink soda can. Let me say that me and my family are very picky about our barbecue, this one hit all the marks. We all got the same thing chopped beef, but each of us got different sauces. We got mild which was nice and tangy we got mixed which was the mild and spicy together which had a nice spicy sweet heat and the spicy which had a very strong kick, so if you don't like spice stay away from that one. It was served on a nice large bun and had enough meat to fill us up. We got the baked beans and mac and cheese for the sides. The baked beans were good standard, don't know if they were canned or not, but good. The mac and cheese was very tasty, not plain, I've seen people complain about the size but you can always upgrade to a bigger size for $2. The gentleman at the counter was friendly enough and Kenny himself was there And he was friendly and helpful as well. To end the meal we got a banana pudding which was good, but we make our own at home and that one's hard to top. All in all it was an excellent meal and we would come back to try other stuff. They do have tables to eat at which are outdoors, as well as an accessible table for those who may need it. Keep up the great work Kenny!

First time at this particular Woodys. I'd say the only reason I haven't been year's sooner is…read morebecause I tend to hear mixed reviews. Usually something like, "It used to be good". Yet there's multiple locations so I'm never sure which one there talking about. First and foremost the BBQ here was fantastic! And I just loved the names of the Lunch Special options. Like "Inflation Fighter" and "Business Man Lunch". Since I was there on the weekend and near closing, unfortunately these options weren't available. So I got the Combo Dinner which comes with up to 3 choices of meat, 2 sides, and a slice of white bread. And for the overall price and amount of meat on the plate, I'd say it was well worth it. I'm a big tall guy who (regretfully) tends to eat a lot in one sitting. Something I'm workin' on doing less of. Yet surprisingly about halfway through everything, I was GOOD. This was definitely a plus to have been given enough to have for a solid dinner later in the day. For the most part I'd say this is a to-go location. But there is about two or three small tables with seating available outside. And they we're completely okay with me eating there even though they we're near closing. Interior is quite nice as well. Very small but had a cabin feel that felt like a modern barbecue shack. Also the two women working the front, taking orders and cashiering we're both friendly and welcoming. So next time I hear something like "It used to be good", I can now confidently say, "And it still is".
