For some time now I have passed "PYB"! After moving to the area my wife came across them (thank you Yelpers!). I placed my order by phone and order was ready in 5 minutes! Just as the call taker said! When paying they went over my order and it was wrong! Reason why was because what I didn't want on the sandwich that I ordered came as a different sandwich. So they changed it to that sandwich and saved me a little bit of money. It's been a while since I've seen customer service like this. Thank you PYB!!! Been hearing my fellow locals raving about this place, and it's easy to see why. It's actually in kind of a weird spot. The hill comes right to the sidewalk along 99 here, so you kind of have to crane your neck to see it. The driveway and parking lot are a little bit twisted around. And the awning sign makes it look like the place is actually called "Cheese Steaks," rather than Philly Ya Belly. But once you get past these quirks, you're fine. Inside it kinda looks like a teriyaki place. Fixed plastic booths, soda fountain, Snapple cooler, ordinary photos on the wall, order at the counter. The service is super nice. The menu is straightforward--a few different sandwiches, plus some onion rings, and the famous garlic fries. I had a small beef with onions and white cheese ("white cheese" is vague enough to be noteworthy), and it was easily enough to fill me up for hours, especially with a couple onion rings. The bread is soft and chewy and unheated; the fillings are very flavorful and seem fairly fresh throughout, no gristle or anything. The onion rings aren't scratch made, but they're tasty. With a drink, this was all over $14. Not a screaming deal, not highway robbery. Later in the evening, a friend of mine was complaining that it's hard to eat healthfully. I told her it was all a matter of attitude. I've taken the attitude that philly cheesesteaks are healthful, so eating well is now very easy. We should all do the same. read more

One of my absolute favorite places to eat! The service is quick and to the point, while the sandwiches are large and delicious. This place is always consistent, you will always be receiving the perfect Philly Cheesesteak. The sandwiches are balanced with a good amount of everything--meat, cheese, vegetables, bread. Nothing is too salty or too bland, and the beginning bites aren't just the end butts of the bun. I always order a belly buster so I have to use a fork to eat everything that has fallen out, that's how full they fill it!! They have many other side, drink, and sauce options. Okay, I'm hitting the wall on places to review and when I saw Tom describe this place, I remembered I've also been there. Bingo! He's right about it being hidden. I used to drive past it all the time and never even noticed it. It's sort of tucked away in a business park like area. It's not where you would look for something to eat. The inside reminded me of a school cafeteria. It's definitely a no thrills kind of place. It's about the food and nothing else. Cheese steaks that are pretty dang good sized. I struggled to put mine down. Taste? It was okay. I'm not a specialist on cheese steak sammies, so I'm not going to be able to argue merit here. I grew up just northeast of Philadelphia, in a state maligned by Jersey Shore and Bon Jovi. I consider certain foods to be part of my birthright, a trade off for Snooki and the rest invading from Staten Island: good bagels, good pizza, and good cheesesteak. I decided to pick Philly Ya Belly as a lunch stop on the way to a photoshoot in Mukilteo. I'm glad I made that choice. Great cheesesteaks, almost as good as home. I wish the cheese sauce was standard, not an option one has to ask for, but I can deal with that. Garlic fries are pretty good too. Ambiance is non-existent. If you're not there for the food, the bland decor and religious music might be too much for you. Even as I attacked the #19 (there's a picture of it here), I found the music to be unnerving. But, then again, I probably listen to some music that weirds people out too, so whatever. I have no reason to come back. I don't live anywhere near here. But I will be back. Now I haven't been to too many Philly Cheesesteak joints, but by far, this is my favorite. If you're in the Lynnwood/Everett area I'd recommend stopping by for an easy lunch. Definitely a mom and pops owned establishment. They use cheese wiz!!! The bread they use is also very good. Cut perfectly to fit the goodness of meat and inside perfectly without the fear of having your sandwich rip at the bottom. The pricing is fair, with 2 options of sandwich sizes. The regular and the belly buster! They've also got some sides to choose from such as garlic fries and onion rings. I have to tell you that this is some of the best Philly Cheese Steak sandwiches I've had to date. They're made fresh to order and the meat (or fixin's as I like to say) is piled high... like HIGH! Usually a regular sized sandwich is way more than enough for me... but, every once in a great while if I've done a situp or thought about exercising I splurge on the Belly Buster! My husband and I stopped here when we saw that there were 54 reviews with 4.5 stars on yelp. Plus, I haven't had a good philly steak sandwich in a very long time. For some reason, folks out here can't get it right...either it's too salty or they use the wrong bread. I got the 6 inch pepper onion cheesesteak... It was DELICIOUS!!! Like, melt in your mouth good... This was the new crack for me... It's gooey, sloppy, and stop your heart kind of sandwich... The bread was soft and chewy... The way it's supposed to be served... We also split a side of garlic fries.... Eh, I wasn't a fan on them.. But for some reason I haven't been agreeing with fry food in awhile... This place should be right next to a bar... So the drunken people can stumble out and sober up with one of these sandwiches... We did miss the turn in, but that's ok... It's on top of a hill at angle... How did I not know this was in the area?? Love a meat filled and cheesy Philly cheesesteak sandwich. Philly Ya Belly definitely hit the spot. First off, the restaurant is very clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I ordered take out and had a longer drive home because of the snow. After 30 minutes, my meal was still warm. The fries were packaged in a styrofoam but with a hole cut out in the top to prevent them from getting soggy. They were still crisp when I got home. I specifically got the garlic fries. It had just the right amount of garlic so I didn't get terrible heartburn like when I get the garlic fries at a Mariners game. The cheesesteak sandwich was he best I've had in the area. The cheese was melted in and I ordered the sandwich with extra meat. Needles to say I was very satisfied with the portion in addition to the flavor. Can't wait to go back!! read more

First timer at this place today...ordered the small philly and garlic fries. To be honest I would only return if they changed the bread they use, or maybe I could pay extra to provide my own. Fries were ok. If you've had garlic steak fries at Safeco field you'll probably just want to toss these fries out. The overall flavor of the Philly steak was average. The soft white roll is bread overkill. I tore off about an inch and a half from both ends so I could reach the steak. Like others have noted its in a odd location. Went here earlier today and let me start by saying the food was pretty good. I got the Philly Deluxe, garlic fries, and banana pudding. The sandwich (Philly) was stuffed with so much meat and gooey cheese. It was fresh and hot. The veggies were all fresh too and balanced it all out. I can eat A LOT of food and this alone almost filled me up. The garlic fries were fresh, crispy, and had the perfect crunch. The serving size for the fries was super small, I did get the small but i wasn't expecting only 10 fries for almost $8. I regret not getting the garlic CHEESE fries though. Banana pudding I would probably skip if I came again. It was very sugary and could use more savory flavors. Felt like I could only taste sugar and banana. Super granular. Wasn't expecting the price to come out to $30 for sandwich, small fry, and pudding cup but hey what can you expect around here anymore. Service was good and they are really friendly. It takes a lot for me to recommend a restaurant but I'd say give this one a try if your a Philly lover or looking to try something new! read more

Two words... banana pudding! We were looking for a sandwich place today and this was 5 minutes from our house. We can't believe we didn't know about it before. My husband and I both got a Philly and they were so tasty. The meat wasn't chewy, it was delicious and tender and the flavors were nice for what we customized ours with. We got garlic fries too and the fries were beautifully delicious. Okay so... on the way out, my husband was recommended to try the banana pudding next time and another customer echoed this sentiment. My husband came back to the car with.... banana pudding. He had gotten some right then and there. He doesn't even LIKE bananas but knew I'd love to try it. I SCARFED that stuff down before taking down my sandwich. Holy moly, mother of pearl! It was the BEST banana dessert I've ever eaten. Thank you Philly Ya Belly! I actually am a New Jersey native and grew up in Philadelphia and ate cheesesteaks and hoagies my entire life until I moved here. I had the mushroom-pepper-Onion Cheesesteak and mozzarella sticks. It was great. I'm very picky when it comes to how the meat is chopped and grilled and philly ya belly knows what's up. The bread is so good. They actually make an effort to have a great roll- as others use cheap franz supermarket rolls. This place is legit! Delicious food.
