Banana Pudding
Shani C.

This is great! Loved the pulled pork and the pulled beef. Banana pudding reminds me of my childhood! I loved the hot and smoky sauce.

Pulled Pork Platter Meal, Slaw, hash brown casserole.

As soon as you exit your vehicle you can smell the smoked meats. Head inside and order your meal at the counter. They offer indoor and outdoor dining. Decorated with a fun pig theme. We ordered two platters: First one with brisket, coleslaw, and potato salad. Water to drink. Second one with pulled pork, coleslaw, and hash brown casserole. Water to drink. Their pulled pork was the better of the two meats that we tried. Coleslaw is very good. Potato salad was meh. Hash brown casserole was the surprise glory of the meal. Try all their homemade bbq sauces to find one(s) you like best.

Brisket chili

Always great BBQ choices. A little lighter on the smoke than this Bama boy prefers, but still solid. Brisket Chili is one of my favorites, especially when adding the smokin hot bbq sauce and a side of Mexican cornbread. Brisket, pulled pork, chicken, sausage it's all good.

Pulled pork, baked beans and slaw... my favorite sauce Sweet Fire

If you're looking for authentic barbecue along the border of northwestern Tennessee, don't miss a pitstop at Phils... you will not regret it! Tried the Brisket and Pulled pork and would highly recommend both but the pork was my favorite. They have 5 sauces and they were all great - sweet fire was my preference choice but all were delicious. As for sides, go for the baked beans and cheesy hash browns... enjoy!

How could we not stop here!

Definitely worth the few mile trip off the interstate - I'm here to rave about the food but have to start with mentioning the friendly efficient customer service. The meat(we had ribs and pulled pork) were excellent, but I judge bbq spots by their sides, and they couldn't be better here. The beans are some of the best I ever had, and the slaw and mac&cheese are top notch too. I'm guessing it's not that crowded because we're here at 3:30, and we're eating portions big enough to be lunch and dinner. Put it on your list of where to stop...

While driving north to Bristol TN, looking for a place for lunch we noticed a small roadside sign advertising this place. Well worth the stop! The pulled pork was excellent with the sweet heat sauce. The owner recommended the baked beans, they may have been the best part of the meal. My wife ordered the brisket, which had a nice bark and was was very tender. Not sure when we'll be through this way again but would certainly return.

Great mom and pop hometown barbecue joint! Passing through the area we did a quick search on Yelp for nearby restaurants and noticed this place with a great rating. However we noticed they were closing within 30 minutes. We were eager to try it out though and just thought we'd get it to go if necessary. Upon arriving we were overcome with the amazing barbecue smell in the air!! It was instantly mouthwatering!! We honestly felt apologetic for entering when they'd be closing soon but they were so gracious and welcoming!! The owner was even working the line which to me, the daughter of a chef is super reassuring of the product. We ordered brisket plates which comes with garlic toast and two sides. We both ordered potato salad and my fiancé had the hash brown casserole upon suggestion by the cashier. I ordered baked beans and WOW! Definitely an amazing taste!! My fiancé was actually hoping for cornbread but the garlic toast did not disappoint! He also would've opted for the mac n cheese if it'd been an option but they offer macaroni salad rather than Mac n cheese. No biggie as the brisket was so filling and tastes smoky and amazing!! I'd literally drive to Tennessee from Texas for that brisket! Keep up the good work guys! Southern hospitality at it's finest with hearty portions of tasty food to boot!!

Awesome food and service consistently. The best BBQ sauce around. When I'm out of town, I bring Phil's sauce with me to use.

Turns out several hours later I was sick for 3 days with severe diarrhea and almost to the point where I had to go to the emergency room and I'm sure they would have admitted me to the hospital I sent a message to the ownership and they apologize for me getting sick and volunteered to return my money and here it is mid-june and I haven't received a dime back from them and a total came out to less than $20 and I have a copy of the receipt and I also got a message from them telling me that they couldn't match the name up well my wife had paid with her debit card and therefore the names didn't match but that should have made any difference because I gave him the exact time and what we had and the exact dollar amount and no response for over 6 weeks now and I think they've had enough time to save up the money to pay me back for the lousy food that they served me obviously was tainted with some kind of bacteria or some other disease and I'd really like to get my money back. They can contact me through my email address tx4ricks@gmail.com if they are interested in refunding.

The pulled pork was phenomenal. We are from KC and their BBQ would be fine against stiff competition there. Sides of baked beans, slaw and macaroni and cheese were all very good. The kids loved the Mac and cheese. For dessert they added their banana pudding which was also really good. I've heard their burgers are also great, but I would probably always get the BBQ if we lived here

It was packed the day before Independence Day as several folks were getting take out (good sign) I ordered the large Chopped Brisket Platter with collard greens, potato salad, and it came with a roll. The platter was enough for 2 that I shared with my wife. The brisket was well smoked yet juicy. It really didn't need sauce but I tried 4 of the 6 available. They had their own NC sauce that was my favorite as it had the best combo of vinegar and spices. Others included Bama, SC, Texas, Original, Sweet and Spicy, and a hotter one that had zip but not real heat. The potato salad was traditional with a hint of mustard and pickle juice. The collard greens were delicious and well cooked / fresh The Banana Puddling was a delight. None of the parts overwhelmed the others and the vanilla wafers were soft but not soggy They have several folding tables to sit on the inside but set up for mostly carry-out. Staff was friendly even while working hard to get people served in a timely manner. It cost us around $25 plus tip but it fed 2 people.

It's been awhile since I've eaten at the restaurant but we use their catering anytime we have a working lunch. Our food includes: Baked potatoes with all the toppings - these things are really large and tasty Corn casserole - y'all this stuff is the BOMB!! So tasty I can't help but go back for seconds. I recommend a drizzle of sweet heat and the white bbq sauce over top Mac and cheese - so creamy with a white cheddar mixture. A crowd favorite. Pulled pork - perfectly cooked and tender. So much flavor in just the meat. Some of the best I had. Smoked chicken breast - YUM!!! So tender with a great smoked flavor. I find myself just snacking on extra pieces when we have leftover. And the sauces!!! All of them are good but my personal recommendation is a combination of Sweet Heat and the White Sauce. Prices are very reasonable for high end BBQ so grab yourself a combo plate (make sure to include the corn casserole) and ENJOY!!! You won't be disappointed!!!

It has a cool vibe with music and attentive servers. I love the mounts on the wall. We got here around 5:20 and people kept streaming in. We started with their chili cheese fries: they were really good. They bring out a homemade ranch that is also good. I'm a spice fan, and their chili wasn't spicy, but the chili was thick and really good. Beer selection is pretty good; lots of domestic beers and some on draft. The food was very good: their fried banana peppers and fried pickles are fantastic. I had their spicy burger without a bun (sorry, no pic) and loved it. Overall, we really liked our visit.

We went on a Tuesday evening and there was only a handful of patrons at the bar and a few tables. The bartender/waitress was very friendly and attentive. She had us find a seat and was quick to get drinks and appetizer orders. The menu had many interesting items including about 10 different hot dogs and 10-15 different burgers. The food came out quickly and overall was pretty good. We had deviled eggs with pimento cheese and fried banana peppers for an appetizer. Both were large and fed multiple people. The eggs were a little disappointing because they were just hard boiled eggs hollowed out with pimento cheese put in place of the yolk. Would have been more interesting to see how it could have been made with the yolk as well. The banana peppers were tasty with a good balance of sweet and crunchy. I had the burger with spicy goat cheese and the banana peppers. Overall the burger was delicious with many layers of flavor. It's a smash patty type burger with crisp edges and cooked well done. While my preference is a thicker juicy burger, this has lots of flavor to it and the unique combinations gave everyone something to try. My side was pickle fries and these were excellent. Some of the best fried pickles I've had. Overall a delicious meal for a very reasonable price.
