I got a full set of tires here. One has a leak that needs new air on as weekly basis. I've been back to have it fixed a few times, but it still leaks. I went in for my free tire rotation and they told me I needed a $700 brake job, including front and back pads and rotors. I have a relatively new car (2015) which is well maintained so this didn't seem right to me. Luckily my boyfriend is a machinist with all the necessary equipment to fix rotors. He takes a look and my rotors were fine. With $100 in parts and less than an hour of his time, he replaced the brake pads. Glad I didn't fall for their scam and spend $700 on a brake job! Never giving these folks another dime. read more

I highly recommended this business! Several months ago, my wife found a nail in one of her tires. She stopped at Phil's Tire Pros because she was in the area. They repaired the tire immediately and didn't even charge for the service! Naturally, when we needed new tires, I checked with Phil's. I was pleasantly surprised. They offered excellent tires for a price lower than competitors. The work was done as promised. It is refreshing to find someone who will give you great service at a reasonable price. Well folks I'm not the guy to give poor reviews at all BUT I had called Phil's Tire days in advance to set up an appointment and I had explained clearly this issue I had with my vehicle in order to have the parts ordered and received as they said they would do... I showed up on time thinking all was good dropped off car and explained and literally pointed to issue. I left, 2 hrs later I was contacted by them and they said the parts were unable to be found and delivered.... so they actually lied to me in order to get my vehicle in to try and ADD on repairs I didn't need (new brakes,tire rotation... etc) I went in to have tie rod replaced! They REAL embarrassing part for them was the fact when they tried to align my truck back they couldn't fix the problem to where I could limp to A BETTER PROFESSIONAL SHOP... I was left in the street in FRONT OF THEIR SHOP under my truck repairing the problem by myself... I truly DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE.... the owner talks a great game, but can't provide but shotty service. I would give Zero stars or a negative star if possible read more

This week i was working in Half Moon Bay and staying at a local hotel. My car is critical to completing my job tasks here and in the evening i noticed a tire completely flat and damaged. I could not leave hotel and was truly out of business and the next day had many important appointments. I searched online and found Phils Tire Pros and after having a tow company put the tiny stock spare on, i drove a few miles very early to the Phils location. I was immediately taken care of by Jason and my tire replaced and i was back to work without missing an appointment. I did some research on a lift kit I wanted installed on my truck finally found the right one so I called this shop because of they're great ratings but it turned out to be a headache. When I called they told me they do lifts just bring my own parts I thought perfect I already have them so they gave me a date to drop the truck off. Once they called I came by the truck looked nice told me to bring it back once the mileage recommended hits for service. THE NEXT DAY I had my family in the truck(my 3 year old daughter and wife which was pregnant at the time) drove over 92 heading to target all was fine I thought to myself this is awesome should of had a kit installed months ago. On the way back home to Half moon bay on 92 I was going over 55 the truck started wobbling badly I almost lost control cars behind me hit the breaks it was bad... I pulled to the side couldn't figure out what happened. I called the shop told me if I had brought it in with the mileage recommended for service I thought are you kidding me it's been a day lol so I called my insurance a tow truck came out a few hours later dropped it off at the shop smh thank god I didn't lose control and crashed.. The next day Phil's call me tell me the truck is ready bolts were tighten and turns out the mechanic did not tighten bolts properly and a main bolt ended up coming lose which caused the problem. I thought to myself shit happens but man this place treated me poorly I went to pick up my truck and was told by Jason "I hear you don't like the lift", I never said anything bad about the lift I think they thought I was trying to get free work or something idk never got an apology or sorry this happened kind of thing which pissed me off because my family was in that truck. Maybe two months later the lift started making noises so I drove over asked Jason if he could take a look at it so I know it's safe to drive around but didn't even bother to come out just told me to bring it in on a date he had gave me. Screw that I took my truck to a mechanic shop near by and WOW i explained what happened and the owner dropped what he was doing and drove my truck around knew the problem right away told me bring it in the next day! I never had questioned the price for the work at Phil's paid in full idk what the problem is here. They treated me poorly thought I was some punk trying to get free work by my complaints and such. I will not be coming back I did not like the work done or the way they treated me at this shop. 2 thumbs down bud. read more

The last time I went to Phil's is the last time I'll ever go to Phil's. Having been going there for years, I took my car in for new tires. Having taken time off from work, they do the job and I pay them and drive off... only to find my car pulls strongly to the right. I return to the shop and rather than re-align them, they tell me "Just drive it hard for three days or so and if its not fixed, bring the car back in". Let me get this straight... I'm not happy with the job you did, And I should drive for three days on winding mountain roads and Coast-side cliffs unsafely, and then take MORE time off from work so you can correct your mistake? Take my picture, boys, because you won't ever see my face in your shop again! I go to Angelo's right down the street where I get top-notch service at a better price. read more

I've been to Phil's Tire twice now since we moved to HMB in August. The first time my fiance needed a new tire put on his Mini Cooper after one went flat. Phil's didn't have the right kind of tire so my fiance bought 2 new tires online and then brought them in. They were put on very quickly and we appreciated that Phil's would put on tires that weren't purchased at the store. The second time we went to Phil's to have a wheel replaced on my Alero after a minor accident cracked the back wheel. Both times prices were very reasonable and service was fast, friendly, and professional. Highly recommend!! read more

First time customer to Phil's. I called and Jason answered the phone. It was Monday, and I said that I needed an oil change, my brakes were getting loud, and if they could take a look at my shocks because my truck was bouncy. Jason said "Sure! I have Thursday or Friday available". Choose Friday, and the good thing is they open at 7:30AM. Day of, I get there, Jason opens up promptly at 7:30. Has all the paperwork ready, and says they'll check the brakes and shocks. I was in and out in less than 5 minutes. Halfway through the day, Jason calls and says "Hey, your brakes are fine, still have a lot of life left on them. We cleaned them and you are good to go". Seriously, I would have never known if they were bad or good, could have easily been swindled. He then said "Yeah, your shocks are a mess, I recommend the front and back shocks be done". Ok I say, thanks! Call at 3PM, truck is all ready, I head back. Jason gives me info on the national Tire Pro group they belong to, the warranty on the work he did, and how I can get it fixed at any location in the group. Fantastic shop and great first experience. $650 for a complete oil change, tire rotation, brake check and clean up, and front and rear shocks. I don't know much about cars, but I do know pricing, and this was a very fair price. Highly recommend this place! read more

I was impressed by the service I received at Phil's Tire & Auto. My check engine light came on over the weekend so I called them on Monday morning. They said "sure, bring it in" and it was ready the same day! They did a tune up and other stuff to my car and OMG she runs so good now! She must've have a wheatgrass power smoothie or something cause she has acceleration and power like she hasn't had in a while! I am just so grateful that they were able to do all this work and have it back to me the same day(on a Monday no less!) I live in Hayward and I was headed home on Tuesday morning so this was wonderful timing! They will definitely have my repeat business. read more

Very responsive in getting me a quote, ordered the tires I wanted in a flash and fit me in to change the tires out that same week. Did a great job on the install, balancing and alignment. My husband said he was able to go for 5 minutes on a freeway straightaway without having to adjust course via the steering wheel. They flagged my worn-out brakes for me but were super-chill and low-pressure when I declined to have them done that day. Only reason 4 stars and not five is that it took so long. I was given an estimated time of completion of 1:30pm when I dropped it off. Called them at 2:30pm to be told it would need until 3:30pm. read more

My tire sprung a leak while I was on the way to Half Moon Bay for a meeting, and this seemed to be the only choice in town to get it repaired. Fortunately they were fast, courteous, and inexpensive. When I told him I had a meeting in 30 minutes they prioritized my fix and had me back on the road in 20 minutes. I really appreciated that. The best service at Phil's!! My fiancé recently had the lift on his truck fixed here and they did a great job. This was my first time here, and I called last minute hoping to get an oil change before going out of town. They were booked through the weekend, but squeezed me in which was so appreciated. I dropped my car off in the morning and got a call a couple hours later. Jason recommended a couple of things for my car, and let me know that two of my tires needed to be replaced soon. (All of which I knew I needed) He let me know the price and it was so reasonable I couldn't pass it up, even my picky father agreed. They had everything in stock so my car was finished by 1:30pm with the additional work done. I am so happy with the friendly service I received here, and would highly recommend them. I had a slow leak on my back tire and I was close to needing new tires. I reached out on the weekend to Phil's, by sending them an email, for a quote. I didn't expect a reply until Monday, even though I had an immediate auto reply letting me know they had received my email. Imagine my surprise when Sunday afternoon, I received a reply and quote. Currently I had run flats on my BMW X3. I felt like they had worn quickly, so after seeing the quote, I started having questions, so I sent another email. We went back and forth more than I should have on a Sunday afternoon, but the replies I received were very helpful and never once was I made to feel like I was taking up any of his time. Monday, I called with more questions. Then called back to schedule an appointment. I could have gone in sooner, but I had my daughter visiting, so I waited to go in on Thursday. I had asked for an alignment with the new tires, they were kind enough to say they would check it and if I didn't need it, they wouldn't do it. WOW how my car rides now. I took all his suggestions. These guys are awesome!! Several months ago we had a tire blowout and had to put the spare on for a little while. Sears is a clusterfuck and couldn't fit us in for the start-to-finish replacement during our non-work hours so we ended up saying fuck it, dropping the rim off with them to mount the new tire, and picking it up later. I wouldn't have even wasted my time with them in the first place except we bought the original tire from them and were replacing it under the road hazard thingy. ANYWAY....so we picked up our rim with the nice new tire on it and went home. I'm no stranger to changing tires, but on our Bimmer, it can be a huge pain in the ass. So instead of doing it at home with a clunky old jack and tire iron, I just took it over to Phil's to get it switched over. Those impact wrenches and lifts are a LOT faster at the job!! The guys took the car in and switched the tire over and when I asked what I owed them, they said a big fat zero. OMG! Yay! Because of that, I remembered them last week when we had another flat (FML) but one which was at least repairable. We also needed our two front tires replaced and I was not about to waste my time at Sears again. Long story short, the flat repair was done for $30 and the two front tires we got were of a higher quality than the ones we got at Sears and actually LESS expensive. I was prepared to spend a lot more and was pretty shocked when they told me the cost. The guys at the desk are super friendly and very helpful by the way. Extra points for Jason who is a big ray of sunshine! :D We'll be coming here for all of our tire stuff from this point on. And since we have 3 cars, I think they'll be seeing a lot of us.... read more

My husband had gotten a flat at midnight the night before and drove home on his spare. I called Phil's the next day and asked if they had 4 new tires four his SUV and they said yes, or that they could get them the same day. So my husband took the car to the shop that same day and got 4 brand new tires. Price was good, I love spending my money local, and they did a great job! THey also did a lockout for us, since we couldn't pick up the car before closing. read more

As is usually the case, my husband unexpectedly got a flat tire on his way to work. It being my work-from-home day, I was able to drive in another vehicle so he could get to work...but leaving me in town with a inoperable car! I called AAA for a likely tow (my husband thought the tire would need to be replaced, based on a similar flat and what the dealership told him...lesson there...) and, while waiting, called our usual shop in town. They were unable to help but recommended calling Phil's. Thank goodness for that! The tow driver (an awesome guy named Jeff, mentioned in another review!) was able to inflate the tire, determine the rate of air loss, and decided I could drive straight to Phil's (otherwise I'd have to wait another 45-60 minutes for a flat bed...). I went for it! Once at Phil's, the owner took a look at the tire and thought he could repair it...and despite an already full day of scheduled appointments, was able to deliver the vehicle back, ready to go, that same day!
