Having lived next to the Phil's in middlefield Palo Alto, we couldn't wait for one to open close to WG after we moved to the South Bay. We would spend every Saturday morning at the Philz in PA and would like to start a similar tradition here. Love how roomy and accommodating this one is. The decor and interiors v modern and inviting! Also love that this one doesn't get super crowded especially outdoors on weekdays. Our dog approves As to the coffee and the food available everything is fresh, tasty and simply perfect! Dude working the mobile pickup line extremely rude. I was juggling a million things including two toddlers and got me some Me time and went to this location. My fault for not seeing the sign for "Mobile Pickup" because i went through the side door and there was no one in line so i stood at the front of the line. (My first time here plus i have severe astigmatism and i am nearsighted)... whatever the damn reasons i have; i am a paying customer and don't deserve rude behavior from a damn millennial unhappy with their job. I've been coming to Philz before it became instagrammable and frenzied on social media and this was the first time I got a Tesora with a bad aftertaste and a.... best way to describe it is an already watered down Iced mint Mojito that's freshly made. I asked for a cupholder from the said rude barista and without eye contact, he said "we don't get them till Tuesday."--- i don't give AF when you get the delivery honey, i would have been fine with "i'm sorry we ran out of them". Mehhhh. This Philz opened up recently in my hometown of Campbell and, as you can imagine, it's immediately attracted the typical Philz crop of 46-year old bassists, Halsey fans, skinny vegans with dandruffy beards, chicks with buzzed sides, muscleheads in J-Lo glasses, high school kids with microbrewery shirts, and people who seamlessly go from their phone to their laptop without ever taking their eyes off a screen. If anything, awkwardly sitting in the waiting area with these serial-killer-documentary-fans just hammered home how damn old and out of touch I've grown over the past 10-years. I'm practically an alien at this point. Speaking of which, does anybody say, "tight" anymore? Like, instead of "that's cool", "that's tight"? Yknow. "Hey, man, that reverse dunk was hella tight!" ... No? Nobody? ... Anyway, all that being said, Philz makes a good cup of coffee. So I knew, at some point, I'd have to try this new, popular place that sprung up less than a block from my house. I typically go to the Philz in Sunnyvale (off Frances) and I've had good results there. But today, when we entered the shiny new Campbell location, there was a huge line in front of us... which was compounded by the fact that, the staff appears to still be training. So when we got to the front of the line (after waiting 10 minutes), the baristas took an additional 5 minutes to continue babysitting their drink orders before addressing us. The line literally repopulated and was spilling out the door again by the time they "thanked us for waiting." We ordered, walked to the pay station on the other side of the store, settled up, and then sat down on the elongated wooden bench near the bar to wait for our drinks. (And let's address this thing, too: for the curious, this is a horribly uncomfortable and ugly bench. Whatever kind of wood they went with was NOT the ideal material to be used for a seat that's meant to accommodate 6 or 7 people. We could literally hear the creak and feel the bend every time somebody sat down or got up. I dunno who the brainiac was that green-lit this wooden bench, but that person should be relegated to cleaning the drains and toilets until further notice.) Anyway, it took a long time for our drinks to come out - somewhere in the ballpark of 10 minutes. But, to their credit, the drinks did come out absolutely "perfect" - which is the precise word they use, when you come to pick up your beverage. So, despite the borderline-autistic fugue state that I experienced during my wait here, the end result was a damn fine cup of coffee. All in all, I would give this place 3.5 stars if I could... but since I can't, I'm giving them 3-stars. They get dinged for their speed of service (who has half an hour to wait for coffee??)... but, beyond that, this Philz just oozes of a grassroots brand that is in the process of completely selling out. The gratuitous merch', the splattering of the Philz logo on anything with a surface, the advertisements for their mobile app, the hanger with 30 Philz t-shirts near the ordering line... it all screams commercialism in every capacity. Most other Philz I've been to have a more natural, localized, community-centric hippie vibe to them. This Philz does not. You feel much more like a walking wallet at this place. I'm probably not coming back here... but, based on the sheer amount of hipsters climbing over one another to get their bean juice at Bascom and Campbell, I highly doubt Philz Campbell is gonna miss me. I'm not a coffee drinker, but there's something about the Ecstatic iced coffee that is soo delicious, refreshing, and yummy that I will enjoy the whole cup! I normally stick to tea or pastries when I camp out at a coffee shop to get some studying done, but the ecstatic has won my heart. The barista was so friendly and made it regular sweet and creamy. The large size (4.60$) kept me buzzing and alert through 5 hours of cramming organic chemistry, a 2 hour exam, and well into the night so this coffee is LEGIT. I've also had the Philz bagel which is pretty dang filling, esp good when it's freshly toasted. I just love the overall atmosphere of the shop. Everyone always seems chill and happy even those studying at the communal table. Very spacious and lots of outlets available. Also couches and high tables for catching up with friends. The mobile orders have a separate line and parking area for added convenience! All in all, there's really no place for improvement :) read more

Whatuppp Campbell Crowd! New Year means New Coffee Drops in-review for 2019. I frequent S. Bascom with work being a few miles up from the Pruneyard; so when I saw the new Philz pop up across from Sports Basement, I knew this location was in for a world of hurt. (traffic-wise) Though if you're privy to your java-beanery in the morning, you have your pick with Barefoot and a few others on your way to get that abscess checked at Valley Med. It has two entranceways to their small parking lot but as always, one should prepare for the rush before 9AM and the high likelihood of parking on the street or SB. They could 'beef up' their pastry variety like my favorite veggie quiche (ironic) but the priority here is to get the Coffee and Customer Flow right. Here's to praying on that you Year of the Pigs: it's going to be a jittery, Mojito-induced ride. read more

If you want to avoid the line then order from the app and your coffee should be ready by the time you get there. This location has many areas where you can sit and enjoy your coffee. If you like to study or do work at coffee shops I advise having headphones as this location can get a bit busy during the weekends. Overall, great staff, coffee, and ambiance. read more

Campbell finally has a Philz (!), which means I have a new go-to spot for posting up to get work done, catching up with homies, planning sessions, etc. It's right across the street from The Pruneyard, in the building formerly occupied by Baja Fresh. It's busy now, and I don't really expect that to change too much moving forward. The space is awesome, with all types of space and seating options (a few couches, seats, stand-alone tables, communal tables, outdoor seating). We used the app to order ahead cuz parking was brutal and lines were long (Saturday at 11am). So clutch! Two iced mint mojitos and ten mins later they were ready to roll. When picking them up we also grabbed a toast and breakfast burrito to make it a meal--the toast was really good but the burrito was super tiny, like a mini version of the burritos at their DT SJ location. Super weird. But oh well. Drink was legit per usual. Excited to add this to the rotation. read more

I love how spacious this Philz is! There is indoor and outdoor seating. The seating inside has benches, tables, high chairs etc. I definitely would recommend coming here to meet with a friend, but maybe not study because it's really loud. I also noticed that they have new Philz Coffee mugs! I definitely hope to buy one soon! And my go to drink is for sure the mint mojito sweet and creamy. Just wanna say thank u so much to the Philz gods that have been listening because I've been asking for a Philz in the Pruneyard for the longest time. Now, this location is actually across the street from the Pruneyard and took over what was last known as Baja Fresh (RIP my dude). Great addition to the Campbell area as Philz is much loved everywhere!!! First review of 2019! When I found out there was a Philz opening near my house, I was beyond excited! All the other locations are out of the way for me, especially since I graduated from SJSU. This Philz is really spacious and clean with modern decor. It's probably one of the nicest Philz locations I've been to. If you've never been to Philz before, the ordering process is quite different than you're usual coffee spot. You wait in a line and then when it's your turn to get called up, you tell them what you want/how you want it and then you wait for them to call you up again. They will call you up by your drink(s) you ordered so it might be confusing. Once they call you up, you can try your drink and tell them if it needs to be adjusted. If so, they will. If not, proceed to pay at the end. I decided to do a mobile order for the first time. It's very simple. Just download the app and customize your drink order and select your nearest location. It will tell you what time to pick up your order, and then you just show up, skip the line and head straight to the pick up line counter on the far left and you're good to go. Everything's paid for already. Awesome! My favorite drinks are the Mint Mojito, Ecstatic and Silken Splendor. Can't wait to try their other drinks! What I love Is that there is a parking lot. So much easier than parking downtown. I was a little nervous knowing they just opened and that my drinks wouldn't have been made right but it came out perfectly, just how I wanted it! This place would be a great spot for a date, or study place. There are plenty of lounge chairs and seats. Short and simply: Maybe wait a few weeks before you grab a cup of coffee from here, I mobile ordered went to pick it up and it didn't taste the same. Long version: So I came here around 10:40 mobile ordered (honestly way better since the line was like 20 people long) came in walked to the mobile order section waited a couple more minutes then the pick up time (like 2 minutes honestly no problem at all) but at the same time when I got my drink I thought hmm it doesn't taste the same, a little less sweet if anything. I didn't want to bother the person making the mobile order drinks since they probably had a million coming in, plus they didn't ask if it tasted alright, so my suggestion is just come in a few weeks later and see if it's gotten better. I've never been to this location before but it's the perfect spot! It's now a stop whenever I'm grocery shopping or having a bite in the plaza across the street. A very roomy location with the perfect coffee shop chatter in the background to get work done. Very fast and reliable, with plenty of parking dedicated just to philz. Presented my dilemma to Vanessa about being split between a philtered soul and an ecstatic. She recommended a drink I had never tried before with hazelnut. The cashier Austin was good small talk and I didn't feel rushed at all. Both Vanessa & Austin bring perfect diversity to Philz and are both beautiful human beans! It's finally Philz time in Campbell! Opposite of the Pruneyard Shopping Center, this Philz is actually a stand-alone building with an attached parking lot and a spacious inside. It was opening day and therefore packed with people but folks behind the counter did their best to accommodate the masses. Pro tips: - place a mobile order so you don't have to ___ (fill in the blanks: wait in line / talk to people) - whole beans? look out for the "Blend of the Month" which is always nicely discounted ($12-$14) - actually do taste your drink in store and let them know if something is off (rarely happens, but it does) read more

The staff is always friendly. Coffee is always delicious. The coffee-making process is not quick, but you should know that going in. The big downside is that parking is atrocious. Even though there is a private lot, I have always had to park on the street. No one abides by the sign for "mobile pickup" and they don't enforce it. I went to pick up a mobile order (2nd time) and all three spots were full. Then when I went in, there was no line for the mobile pickup. Clearly, three guests chose to ignore the signage. read more

Picked up coffees for others here. What a waste of time this is. Twenty minute wait to get the first one. Looked and discovered it said 1 of 1. Went back and asked if she had gotten both orders? Found out no she only submitted one of them. Got the second order in and was told no worries it's a cold order those are less than two minutes. No response when I pointed out my first drink was also cold? Got the second order and it was not until I got home that I realized that although it's clear on the tag and I was charged for a large they only gave me a small. Hint for the business owner: encourage employees to focus on work and then socialize with one another.. I will take some blame as I have never been here and I did not know that I should have help reviewing orders and finished products to ensure that everything is correct. I don't get it. A friend of mine was shocked that I had never been to a Philz before so we stopped in on Saturday evening. There were only 2 people ahead of us, but we must have waited at least 15 minutes for our drinks. His mint mojito was good, but my chai tea was flavorless. I figured out why when I dumped it; there was about an inch of sludge at the bottom that apparently never properly dissolved. I always mobile order on Saturday mornings after my long runs on the campbell trail. There was a glitch on the mobile order app and I was unable to get the correct order on. I spoke to Martina and she was able to notify staff to help me get the correct order. For some reason it wasn't communicated and waited 35 mins for both coffees. When I brought it up again the drink was made in less than one minute so I don't really understand why there was such a wait. I would definitely recommend this place to others because philz is always good but I wish there was more follow up on customer service because I had a feeling this was going to happen. read more

Hands-down the best coffee in the south bay, but the longest line as well! My recommendation is to get the mobile app and order before hand otherwise you will be standing in a long line. That being said, as a coffee snob this is my favorite and the only place to go for a good cup of Joe! read more

This is the first Philz Coffee that I've seen with so much space to study and do work! That was one of the main reasons why I really liked the location. Who doesn't love philz? This is a new location and it is huge! Almost too big as it feels like the line is twice as long. There are 2 separate areas one for coffee and the other for ordering food and paying. They have a patio so you can enjoy being outside. Definitely head out there as it is really loud inside due to the cavernous size. Everyone I've encountered has been friendly. I have been to probably 10 different philz locations and I recently moved to the area and hoped that this would be my go to coffee shop. Nope. I have been to this location about 3 times, and every time there was something wrong with my drink. Once it was the wrong drink, once i wanted less sweet but it was really really sweet, and once my drink tasted so bad that it seemed like they just watered it down for some reason? Philz is still operating during COVID, but it's behind other coffee shops. You can't come in, you can't order in person, you can't sit at outside tables, all things that Starbucks and Peet's let you do here in Campbell. When I wanted to order today, the wait was 30 min, but no one around at the store. I came in early on Christmas Eve - not too busy and there was still parking. I loooove the decor and layout inside - one of the best I've seen.
