Definitely a neighborhood spot with laidback surf style decor. The coffee is solid, good quality at affordable prices. It can be a bit understaffed at times, but the team is friendly and the vibe is super relaxed. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, very dog friendly.

Always on the lookout for cool coffee shops to get some work done, and Tanner's Coffee delivered. Definitely has down-to-earth vibes, this isn't your $10 cup of pretentious coffee. My reasonably priced mocha was excellent. Plenty of seating options, couch, tables, high tables and counter top inside, plus plenty of outside seating. Will be back next time I need to do some work in this area, or just for a good cup of coffee.

I'm genuinely so bummed out, I came to try this place because of the reviews I saw. The inside was okay, I mean nothing fancy, definitely a place where you can come and get some work done. I ordered a caramel iced latte & chocolate cake. The caramel latte was a 4/10, nothing special about it at all & the chocolate cake I was saving to eat at home. Why when I check the package i see there's mold on top of the cake? So you mean to tell me this place isn't checking their pastries daily to make sure there isn't any mold? That's insane, if I was closer I would've gone back & asked for a refund, $15 down the drain

Stopping by for grabbing my to-go afternoon coffee and Tanner's coffee came up as highly rated one on Google map. I could see the place was pretty busy with people hanging out, working, as well as playing board games on Sunday afternoon. Plenty of street parking around were available. The venue was okay-ish, though probably more like neighborhood coffee vibe than recently hyped aesthetic ones. The barista was so nice and friendly, which was probably my highlight from this place. The Caramel Latte I went for was okay, but wouldn't call it stand out. They did have multiple non-dairy substitutes available and some munchies to grab with your drinks.

A charming little stop between home and the hustle--this coffee shop offers a calm, welcoming pause to your morning. Cozy seating, the aroma of fresh brew, and thoughtful service make it feel like an intentional interlude--just enough time to savor your drink and reset before heading into the day

Ambiance: it's a community coffee shop, with surf club style decorations, spacious indoor area and outdoor seating, definitely a lot of regulars here Service: super friendly and patient with specific requests Drink: standard options with daily speciality Caramel Latte - **** sweet and light taste, recommend Coffee of the Day - *** French vanilla, a bit bitter and sour Price: very affordable prices, most coffee drinks cost less than $5 each

Solid coffee. Inexpensive. Nothing impressive but nothing egregious aka it does the job. After covid, they only sell coffee in to go cups instead of porcelain/ceramic. A bit more milky than I'd like and was a tad over roasted/bitter but overall not bad. Pastries were highly enjoyable but nothing to write home about. I could pass on the pastries next time unless needing a quick bite to eat. $3 for raisin swirl. $7 for cheesecake square and small apple pie. $3 for berry cobbler. They no longer offer their seasonal menu (Eg. lavender and rose lattes). Personally I would pay the extra $1-2 extra for a quality cup and go somewhere else with high quality, specialty coffee. After all, if you're a coffee snob you probably can make your own solid coffee at home. This spot is good for people on the go needing something close and quick but can't stand poor coffee. Parking was a struggle as there was only street parking and it was NOT metered. Instead, after curb parking you have to walk to a self service station to pay for your spot. It's a struggle because this machine's screen doesn't always work. ---- Tldr, solid inexpensive coffee. Would stop by if I'm close by and need a quick to go option.

Ok it's not all the time that I'm impressed by coffee shop food.. I ordered an iced coffee (cold brew) and plain bagel with egg and cheese.. it was excellent. I had to go back in and say thank you to the staff for that most delicious bagel. It's not something out of the is world right but it was hot, crispy, and hit the spot. It was an egg white bagel and I don't think they make regular eggs just whites as I didn't specify egg whites but I love eggs regardless so keep that in mind. They also have an option for cream cheese, pb&j and just a butter bagel. I doubt you'd be disappointed. Coffee was standard tasting, not worse than the big box brands so I'd rather come to tanners over those guys. It was mildly noisy inside as it was full but nothing crazy. I would assume that they have a steady flow of customers as it seems like they would so don't be surprised if there's a line for breakfast hours. With that said next time I have to bring my mom the dentist next door I will for sure stop by again. Enjoy..

As I was working through my message, I had the idea to include a visual illustration--a charcuterie setup to represent the abundant life Jesus offers. Right away, I thought of Alex and Olivia at Joliet Cafe. I've enjoyed Joliet Cafe for years-- whether I've come by in the day to get delicious coffee, or enjoyed the restaurant on a romantic night out with the wife - the food is always outstanding. Alex is truly a masterful chef! So just a couple of weeks before Easter, I reached out with this idea. Not only was he open to it, but he took the time to understand the vision and bring it to life. On the day of, Alex arrived early and prepared a beautiful, abundant "feast" that fit the message perfectly. It didn't just look incredible--it tasted amazing. After the service, we placed the charcuterie next to our lunch table, and it was gone quickly! So many people commented on how delicious and well-presented everything was. I share all this to say: Alex's professionalism, creativity, skill, and flexibility make him an incredible choice for charcuterie boards, catering, or any culinary service. He truly delivers--and you will not be disappointed. Thank you again for helping make Easter such a meaningful and special day!

I thought it was a full sit-down restaurant, but it's more like a cafe you can walk up and order from, and either sit at their bar area or outside at any of the tables. Regardless, service was pleasant enough. I got a chicken Caesar wrap and a Sakura matcha, and both were delicious. I loved the floral flavor of the Sakura matcha, and the wrap was fresh and flavorful. This is a great spot to grab a quick bite and coffee from, and I would totally come back if I'm in the area.

Therefore, I have to come and take advantage right? Well, I was able to order both tacos keto style (Dallas Fort Worth variety) and have their contents put in these cute cups. Needless to say they were delicious as was the fresh coffee. The CSA (CUSTOMER SERVICE ALL STAR) of this experience was none other than Erik-pictured. What a super nice guy! Erik was super humble, and yet calm cool and collective-while managing the usual door traffic. I guess where I'm going with this is I certainly couldn't do it! HomeState has become my go-to breakfast spot in the Playa Vista/Westchester area. This isn't your…read moretraditional taco stand - it's definitely a more modern, hipster take on Texas-style breakfast tacos. But they execute it pretty well. One of my favorite morning routines is grabbing a coffee from Blue Bottle next door, then settling in at HomeState with my two favorite breakfast tacos: the Guadalupe and Don't Mess with Texas. Guadalupe - 4/5. I always order this on a corn tortilla. It comes with eggs, chorizo, and cheese, and the ingredients are decent. The portion is generous, with plenty of fluffy eggs that are cooked just right - not overdone or runny. The cheese melts nicely into the eggs, creating a good texture. The chorizo is decent, though it's the weakest component of an otherwise excellent taco. Also, I realized that the portion of chorizo has shrunk over the years. Don't Mess with Texas - 4/5. I'm generally not a fan of refried pinto beans, but this taco completely won me over. The combination of beans, bacon, potatoes, and cheese works surprisingly well, especially with the salsa verde. The flavors come together beautifully, making this one of the more satisfying breakfast tacos on the menu. I've tried a few of their other breakfast tacos, and they're all good. Still, I always find myself coming back to these two. HomeState offers two house salsas roja and verde, both with a brighter, more acidic profile than what you'd typically find at a taco shop. Usually that would be a bit problematic for regular tacos, but that acidity pairs well with the rich breakfast tacos. My only complaint is that I wish they packed more heat. Hot sauces are available, but I'd rather the house salsas bring the spice on their own. Even so, they're flavorful and complement the tacos well. Overall, I like my Blue Bottle coffee + 2 breakfast tacos combination, and will continue eating here.
