HECK YES! ordered the mint mojito- asked for it less sweet than traditional mix and it was so friggin good!!!!!!!!!! Order it! i also tried their tesora moca... not a huge fan of this one because it was SUPER sweet-- sweet drinks aren't my thang. Why was this Philz closed when the restaurants next to it were open?Idk, but it was lame. Today we go to get Xmas gifts and we walk up to find a sign taped to the door that says they closed at 4pm today which are not their posted hours. It's 4:05, they are still inside, just locked the door at 4pm when it says they should be open later. I'm not giving my money to this Philz anymore. We never know when it's actually open. On the 3rd day of our vacation to Manhattan Beach, for breakfast, my sister and I had to go get breakfast for our sleeping parents. We remembered passing by this place, Philz Coffee. I ordered a decaffeinated Ethiopian drink and a Vegan Brownie. I don't think I have had a decaffeinated in a very long time. The drink itself was very pleasant, and the Brownie itself had a healthier taste, if you had regular brownies before you can tell the difference. I've been to many locations of Philz. Including where it all started in San Francisco. Upon walking in your always greeted. The atmosphere is by far my favorite of any coffee shop. There's just something about Philz and it's that something that'll always make you want to return. And this location is no different. Professional, clean, happy outgoing employees. With an amazing brewed fresh coffee. Not to mention they have their own creations of food. I usually get the avocado protein bowl. This includes one egg, avocado, hummus and cucumbers. Topped with olive oil and Mediterranean spice. ITS SOOOOOOOOO GOOD! I've also had their avocado toast. MY GOD you must try it! you will not be disappointed in anything you order from me. They have a very wide range of coffee selections. You can get it iced or hot whichever you choose. I've basically never had a bad tasting coffee from here. With that said do I recommend it? I love Philz, it's the perfect morning pick-me-up! Actually, make it an all day kinda thing! This location opened fairly recently, and there's a Randy's Donuts in the works to open right next door to it. They will both be sharing outdoor seating, with some nice wall art decor to make this the perfect place to work or meet up with someone. I don't think they really specialize in food, although they do have various types of toast and grab-n-go items. I picked up a yogurt parfait which was $6 for a smallish cup... which I think is a little too much for a small snack! I will always be an iced mint mojito or a philtered soul lover. The coffee here is strong and can definitely taste the undertones listed on the menu. When you first enter usually there's a line, and the menu is a bit hard to see. YES FINALLY PHILZ IN THE SOUTH BAY! I found out that they were opened and wanted to stop by before my flight in the morning, but turns out I ended up stopping by on their soft/grand opening day. I showed up at 6AM but of course the one day I stop by early, they opened at 11AM T_T. Parking There's still construction going on at cross campus so the parking lot can get pretty full quickly, especially since they share it with tender greens and shake shack. But there is a garage if you go further down on continental way. Same style as the other philz, you wait in line until your barista calls for you. But this philz is smaller than the other locations that I've been to. No inside seating available, only outdoor seating. Lots of food, pastries, coffee, tea, and merchandise to choose from! Coffee is awesome, that's why I am here all the time. But sometimes it just take SO LONG! This morning I ordered on mobile app, showed up 10mins later, it's not ready. The ready timer on the app keeps getting postponed, another 20mins in the store, still not ready! And the timer just added another 10 mins. Walk in and to your left is a display of an array of fresh snacks and bites to eat, mostly sweet don't recall savory. I like to order it sweet and creamy style, which is surprisingly still not very sweet and the fresh mint literally perks me up! The workers are friendly and have even been so kind as to open their doors a few minutes early when I showed up before official opening time. Got a splendor soul with almond milk. Ask them to make it extra creamy! There are a lot of coffee flavors to choose from and can get a bit overwhelming but when you approach the barista you can ask for some recommendation. They will adjust the sweetness for you on the fly. After you place your order walk over to pay. And just stand around for your order. There is a lot of seating on the outside patio area. Sooooo ecstatic (ha!) that they're finally opened!! Dropped by today for their soft opening and was not disappointed one bit! The quality is just as good as the Bay Area (used to go to the San Jose location allllll the time!) & also got only positive vibes from all of the workers. Plussss Phil himself was there ! My co worker and I got there around 11am and there was already a long line and it definitely got longer once we were closer to the front. There were workers who were giving out little samples to everyone who was in line... !!!!! They were generous with their samples too! They had all of their pastries on trays and also little samples of their savory items. I got to try a chocolate chip cookie and a little piece of their avo toast- both very delicious! One of the workers told us that starting tomorrow (4/24/18) they will have regular business hours from 6am to 8pm & their mobile app will be available as well! Also, they weren't selling their savory items today but will be starting tomorrow. We waited maybe 30 min to get to the front. I ordered two mint mojitos and an iced mocha tesora (medium medium on sugar & cream) & they were all soooo good! I am sensitive to coffee but out of all these years, I found what works and taste more delicious than ever at Philz. I've brought my cousins and friends over multiple times and they are hooked too.
