Phin is a vibe. It almost felt like I was in my Nåna's backyard garden back on Guåhan. Nice lo-fi music, perfect place to do homework, catch up on work or even create if you're an artist. They have a kiosk you can order at or if you prefer at the counter. I love human interaction so I opted to be helped by Jamie. We ordered a Hanoii Egg coffee, dare I say, the Hanoi Egg is better than Saigon. Ma'åse ( thanks ) to Jamie for letting me know that even though Banana Matcha wasn't on the menu I could order it. Instant joy! Also, special thanks to My Thanh for making my Banana Matcha perrrrrfect, not too sweet. We drove all the way from Imperial Beach to try this place. Great vibe, friendly service & delicious drinks. We will definitely be back.

They were able to give us some samples and recommendations and it helped us made a great choice for the much needed caffeine pick-me-up after a long day of meetings. I went with the Hanoi Egg based on Ginger's advice and it really did taste so good! The egg foam was similar to flan which I enjoyed immensely. The baristas are the best and I highly recommend stopping by and checking Phin Coffee House out for those looking for quality coffee and other offerings.
Came here with the wifey and the inside was spacious. We shared the mango sticky rice which was really good. Waited awhile for this drink but worth the wait.

Finally an egg cold brew that isn't insanely sweet. Phin Coffee makes delicious, flavorful, and strong coffee. The vibes are out of this world and the coffee always hits! The service is always great. Self checkout won't let you skip the phone number, but if you ask, the cashier will ring you up to skip that step.
Phin Coffee House has replaced a local boba tea shop in the Plaza Square of National City. Parking was challenging in the shared lot as there were too many customers for all of the neighboring businesses and not enough spaces. The interior decor of this corner suite was spruced up with a lot of greenery and furnished with chairs, stools, and tables that were set low to the ground that I found awkward and uncomfortable. The place was buzzing during my visit with people who had already received their drinks and were hanging out. A menu screen was displayed at the counter, however you needed to use the self-service kiosk to place an order. Coffee, matcha, pandan, and blends were the categories. All of the items were priced between $6 and $7.50 for serving sizes of either 16 or 22 oz. I chose a Matcha Peach Lemonade that came in the larger size cup. White peach bits, lemonade, and G9 ceremonial matcha were the ingredients. It took at least 10 minutes for my drink to be prepared as there were several folks ahead of me. I sat on a sofa and used the free WiFi signal while waiting. The lemonade and peach were more prominent in the blend than the matcha. I think it was difficult for the matcha to shine within the fruity flavors. I gave a 3.5 star rating for my experience at Phin Coffee House.
Came here last week and discovered the beauty of this cafe! Upon entering, I felt like I stepped into a tropical oasis with all the greenery and hanging plants. I hadn't seen it on social media and only stopped by because it was nearby, making it a pleasant surprise. Unfortunately, the experience didn't quite live up to the atmosphere. My blended iced coconut coffee took about 20 minutes to make, which felt excessively long for a single drink. Not to mention it tasted very watery, and didn't have much coconut flavor apart from the coconut shreds. The staff seemed understaffed, with only one employee managing a busy crowd and one for the larger orders. While waiting, I noticed several matcha drinks with order numbers after mine being completed first, which made the delay even more frustrating. The café itself is beautiful, and I'd consider going for the vibes and atmosphere. However, if you're on a tight schedule, be prepared for a potentially longer wait.
Nice little coffee shop next to Jollibee that's actually not so little once you get inside! The interior is nicely decorated and there's plenty of seating, making it a good place to hang out with friends, get some work done, or study for a bit. The drink selection is pretty good and the menu has something for everyone. The coffee is supposedly made phin style, although I'm not exactly sure how they prepare it since the staff mentioned the coffee is usually premade and ready to go. My drink came out pretty quickly, so that would make sense compared to waiting for a traditional phin drip. Overall, a comfortable spot with plenty of seating and a good variety of drinks. Worth stopping by if you're in the area.
The drink was good that my daughter drank more than half. Luckily I told the staff 25 % because it was already sweet enough. Inside was nice and the chairs were comfy. See how much my daughter enjoyed the chairs drinking without a care in the world.
Leilani was a great, we got the Coco Frost with pandan foam and mango sticky rice. It was perfect for this hot and muggy weather! The ambiance is 11/10!
Wow! Drove from Mira Mesa and it was worth it. Creeshayne and Martine made an absolutely incredible drink. The coco frost was on the sweeter side, Vietnamese coffee was good but could have been a little stronger. The scenery was incredible, but not the most ergonomic. We would definitely come again, enjoyable experience overall!

The interior is SO CUTE! Plant vibes and chill outdoorsy camping vibes! I love how they have some of the yun tea items since this business is by the owners of yun tea as well as their own unique drinks! Delicious and cozy and chill with the music choice. We got the Manga (mango, yogurt, pandan sticky rice) and the iron goddess (originally from Yun tea). I will say that I like the mango sticky rice drink at Yun tea more than the manga drink here but they're both good in their own ways! The Manga you can definitely taste each ingredient clearly no artificial tasting anything! Mango puree wasn't too sweet it tasted just like real mangoes. The yogurt had that tart taste to it. The pandan sticky rice was still warm as I drank it through the straw! The iron goddess tastes almost exactly like the one from the OG Yun Tea House in convoy. For some reason it tastes a bit milkier/lighter to me here? But I can't be 100% sure on that one since it's been a few weeks since I've had the iron goddess specifically from Yun Tea! I usually get their super roasted tasting teas so maybe that's what I'm thinking of and this one is supposed to be a lighter flavor profile. This is a great place to meet with friends! If they added more taller tables/chairs it would be a great place to work/study too! What they have now is just superrr low to the ground for the most part other than the few bench seating spots that they have as you can see in the photos! I did see 2 people working on their laptops but I'm not entirely sure how comfortable it was being so low to the ground haha. Service was fast and it wasn't busy at all especially considering that I went on a Sunday! We didn't have a difficult time finding parking but I could see how it could be challenging at times given that there are a lot of businesses in this plaza including Jollibee! Would definitely come back to try some of their other drinks like the coconut coffee or their matchas to see if I like those better! read more
Took my daughter here for a daddy-daughter date and really enjoyed the cozy vibe. The only thing that threw me off was how low the chairs were I wasn't expecting to do squats while drinking coffee. Lol I also think real plants instead of fake ones would make the space feel even more fresh and inviting. Still cool though The drinks were okay. I tried the Robusta (their take on Vietnamese coffee), and it just wasn't my favorite. My daughter got the Mango Matcha Sticky Rice drink, and while it was creative, we both thought it was a little too sweet. You might like it though Overall, it's a nice place with a cool atmosphere, cool workers and okay drinks. read more

I've been wanting to try this place for a while but I was waiting for the right time, thankfully I did and I just saw they came out with new banana matcha and coffee. Let's just say I got the Banana Coffee and It's amazing! I'm definitely coming back to try the matcha :) The baristas Mel and Mirelle were super kind and nice. My first time here. My boyfriend & I casually found this place but it wasn't quite open yet. We finally made it! I love the vibe in this place! I got the robusta with the ube cold foam & my boyfriend got a matcha. He loves it because it's not too sweet (even though he loves sweets) the robusta is the perfect taste for a Vietnamese coffee topped with the ube cold foam. Next time I'll try a different topping! The baristas - Mirelle, Martine & Leilani were so sweet & very welcoming as we walked right through the door. read more

I've been on the hunt for good ceremonial matcha around the area I live in, and I'll admit--I'm somewhat of a matcha snob (okay, I definitely am ). Most of the matcha spots I love are quite a drive away, so I was SO excited to recently try Phin's ceremonial matcha, and it is amazing! I'm soooo glad this place was introduced to me! It's not too far away, and the quality is good enough for me to feel like I'm getting all the health benefits I look for in matcha. Grateful to have found this little gem! read more

Came on a Saturday afternoon and ordered quickly using the kiosk. We got the banana matcha and ube matcha at the recommended 25% sweetness. I would like it sweeter so I'll get it at 50% next time. The creams were delicious and didn't overpower the matcha. Matcha strength was good and drinks were reasonably priced. I like how oat milk is the default! Solid new cafe! We came Saturday afternoon and ordered using the kiosk. Drinks were ready quickly and service was friendly! My sister and I got the ube cream matcha and banana cream matcha. We got both drinks at the recommended 25% sweetness, I would've liked it to be sweeter so I'll try getting it at 50% next time. Matcha flavor was decently strong. Drinks are a reasonable price. Came here around midday Sunday with my wife and it was pretty busy inside. Ordering on the kiosk was fast and easy. My wife ordered the nubela and we sat down to wait for it. It was loud with all the people inside hanging out. The plants were so nice, but when you look closer, they're fake but a really good fake. It doesn't matter much since it's just for the vibes. A couple ordered after us and got their two drinks before we got our singular drink, and one of theirs was the same one as ours, so that was kinda weird. The drink itself was pretty good and got the recommended 50% sweetness. Overall, I'd come back to hang out. Oh yeah, the tables convert into chairs. read more

Great tasting Vietnamese coffee, it's not as strong as I'm used to but it's not bad. The vibe here is dope though; the forest-like decor with low camp.chairs and short tables -- I'd hang out here with friends to catch up. They have tea and matcha drinks too but I thought for my first visit, in honor of the name of the store, I have to have the classic. Such a cute new spot! They just opened for their soft opening, and I'm so glad I stopped by. They're tucked right behind Jollibee in National City, so they're a little hidden, but definitely worth finding. The vibe was so cozy and welcoming. I loved all the plants and the aesthetic--it felt like a nice little place to slow down and enjoy a drink. The staff greeted us warmly the second we walked in, which made such a great first impression. They even offered free samples so we could try a few drinks before ordering, which I thought was such a nice touch. I ended up getting the Duck Shit tea and it was actually so good! The name alone made me laugh, and I loved the cup too. It's a smaller space, but unique. I can definitely see people coming here to catch a vibe, sip on some tea or coffee, and relax for a bit. I really hope they get the attention they deserve because I think with the right advertising they'll do great. They're in a corner, but with all the traffic going in and out of the two neighboring plazas, I think people will start discovering them. I love seeing unique small businesses like this open up in my city, and I'll definitely be back to try more of their menu. If you're in the area, stop by and show them some love! read more
First time here, it was nearly closing time so it was not busy at all. We ordered at the machine and our drinks came out fairly quickly. The baristas Ginger and Chris were great! Hojicha latte was good but I should have gotten it sweetened a bit more. Also the ube matcha was tasty! Lots of room to sit and all the faux plants add a great touch. read more

I'm so glad I did because this spot has definitely earned a place on our list of go-to coffee shops. I had been eagerly waiting for this place to open and came in with high expectations, but unfortunately the soft opening experience fell short. The ordering process is done through kiosk, and there was already a wait just to place an order. If you want to browse the menu beforehand, it's displayed closer to the counter and isn't easily visible from the entrance. Even when standing near it, the font was difficult to read and could benefit from better design for readability. After ordering, we waited over 20 minutes for just two drinks, which was disappointing. We ordered the Robusta with Panda Foam and the Tropica. When my drink was finally ready, I almost left without the foam because they had run out and no one informed me until I went back to ask. The barista did offer alternative foam options, and I chose the ube foam. Unfortunately, neither drink impressed me. The coffee didn't have the rich, bold flavor I typically expect from Vietnamese coffee. Instead, it tasted watered down and overly sweet. The Tropica was also underwhelming, with the grapefruit being the only flavor that really stood out. I hope they can improve the operations and the drinks over the next few months. I'd be willing to give them another try once they've had more time to settle in. read more
Really wanted to love this place, but unfortunately left disappointed. The interior is super cute but they have a lot of things to work out. The first challenge was the ordering system. Ordering is kiosk only, which means there's very little interaction with staff. There was only one kiosk available, so the line moved pretty slowly. A lot of the wait seemed to come from people standing at the kiosk trying to read the menu for the first time. There is a small printed menu near the counter, but it wasn't very noticeable, so many people didn't see it before reaching the front. The second issue was the wait time. It took about 30 minutes to receive two drinks, which felt excessive for such a small order. As for the drinks, I wasn't very impressed. I ordered the mango drink, and it mostly tasted like milk. The rice in the drink was actually really good, but I didn't taste any mango. The drink also tasted surprisingly sour, though I'm not sure if that's how it's intended to taste. Both I and a couple of the people I visited with also experienced some stomach issues afterwards. Overall, it wasn't the best first visit. That said, I know they're currently in their soft opening phase, so I'm willing to give them another try in a few months once they've had more time to work out some of the kinks. read more

Upon entrance you feel you've entered a calm, quiet and inviting spa. I ordered the Coco Latte and my son ordered the Hanoi coffee. Both were delicious. It's definitely a place I would recommend. read more

They have cuties decor and plenty of chairs and tables for customers to hang out I got Robusta (coffee with condensed milk). It wasn't strong to my liking. They have kiosk self service. I would be back if I'm in the area. read more
