    Bibingka donut and vanilla latte
    Ken C.

Sinta cafe and bakery in Chula Vista, San Diego, has gone viral for their spin on Filipino desserts. What's famous are their Bibingka donuts, which were served still warm. Had perfect textures of pillowy bibingka with crispy edges. Made sure to try their other things as well! Turon cupcake had nice banana pound cake flavor, topped with a brown sugar taro chip. Mango matcha cupcake is matcha cake with a mango cream and a dried mango. Pavlovas are a perfect meringue filled with whipped cream and topped with bite sized pieces of fig, lychee, strawberry. Overall, this is an outstanding Filipino fusion bakery in SD with solid chops. Will definitely come back and I recommend it!

Finally a Filipino bakery with a modern twist and a gorgeous place to hangout. The place was clean and aesthetically decorated. A great coffee shop to visit with. We need more of these types of places in this neighborhood. They have a great selection of pastries with Filipino inspired flavors. The cupcakes are very light in flavor but the best part of their cupcakes is their cakes. Super moist. Service is as well expected. Drinks came out first and pastries a little bit after since they had to pack them up. The line was long and out the door but move along at a reasonable pace. I ordered the hojicha drink with oat milk. It's made the traditional way with bamboo whisk which I appreciate. I would definitely mark this spot as a frequent visit and go-to spot when meeting with girlfriends.

Sinta is such a vibe! The lovely decor pays great homage to Filipino culture and the furniture (seeing it all over social media) was enough for me to stop by. The Milo Crunch Iced Latte was enough to get me to want to return. It was still soft opening when I visited here last weekday morning and pretty busy. It's situated among other businesses in the midst of a residential area. My sister and I both ordered the same drink and thought it was nicely flavored, not too sweet, and strong. We also got a small sample of their many desserts to take home and share with our parents. We tried the Bibingka Donut, Ube Leche Flan Cupcake, and Pandan Cupcake. All were good, not too sweet and approved by picky Filipino parents lol. I'm hoping they add more drink options once they are fully open.

Super cute new bake shop cafe in the Escaya area of Chula Vista. Love all the Filipino touches on all their decor. Really takes you back to the Philippines with the ornate designs. We came in and tried pretty much everything in their display and a few that came out as we were ordering. I have to say their cupcake bases are so moist and spongey and not too sweet, and beautifully decorated! Calamansi Tart had a distinct Calamansi flavor tamped down by cream. The Bibinka donuts were dense but kind of mochi-like. Loved the fruit puff pastry and the custard pastry shaped like a shell. The Pandan cupcake was so moist and easy to put away. Ube tart was good and similar to the Calamansi one, just not citrusy. Also tried their Milo Crunch Latte and it had a sort of mocha feel to it; tried hard not breathe in the powder topping and mix it in right away so I don't choke. lol Def recommend this spot and worth the drive down. Friendly service and a line out the door. Hoping this place continues to do well and lookin forward to trying more of their pastries and maybe their Mrs. Nguyen coffee.

Giving this place a try for the first time. AMAZING little cafe & very yummy looking pastries. The staff was super nice and they were even able to modify our drinks. Cute spot with chill vibes. What we ordered: * Mrs. Nguyen Latte 1/2 sweet (Vietnamese Coffee) x2 * Hojicha Latte (Matcha) * Sintaroll ×3 (w/ Ube Cream Cheese) - Goodie for later. *DiningWithTheAndersons #TryingNewPlaces #Cafecito #ChulaVista #TRIFECTA

I got here around 9:30 am Saturday parking and was able to get a parking spot right in front because I arrived as someone was leaving. The line was long, but it got even longer after I left, but the wait was as expected and once I ordered I didn't have to wait too long for my items. I ordered a 2 mini ube cupcakes, 2 mini mahal Lahaina cupcakes, 2 mini pavlovas, 2 mini ube leche flan cupcakes, and 1 napoleon for a small family party. I also picked up a Mrs. Nguyen latte and a Milo Crunch latte. My family devoured these. They were the right portion size for everyone and my very judgmental mom and auntie said, "it's not too sweet," and "oh, that's real ube flavor, not just food coloring." I think the price was reasonable, and everything looked beautiful. My cousin and I loved our lattes. The actual shop itself is beautiful. I appreciate the details in the seating and in the light fixtures. The decor and space are clean - definitely the kind of space I could go to to grab coffee and a treat to for a catch up session with a friend/family member. I wanted to try the sans rival but they were already out. I look forward to coming back and trying more things!

Great new location in Escaya! Visited this establishment on a Monday morning and the wait was only 2/3 people ahead of us which was great! The wait was about 15/20 minutes , and there was still enough seating areas when we ordered . The Bibingka Donut was still available to try 9/10 , I tried the Iced Chagaccino which was delicious 10/10! I would definetly return to try differs pastries as they all looked beautiful and delicious !

Yep. I get it. The long lines. It is absolutely worth it. My friend came here and it was an experience. I felt so at peace in the space, like being on a vacation with the fresh orchids at each table. I got a delicious latte, and I cannot remember the name, but I am caffeinated for the next 3 days. Super strong and amazing! The staff was nice. Can't wait to return!

Love love love Sinta! Another new addition to the Chula Vista lineup and I couldn't be more thrilled about it. Located in the Village of Escaya in Otay Ranch right off of Heritage, Sinta is a brand new, Filipina owned and inspired bakery. It sits right under the apartments there so please be courteous of the residents. Parking looks scary initially but it's not as bad as you think. They have spots throughout the village for the retail purposes but if you don't mind a small walk, there's plenty of street parking along the outskirts and by Escaya Park. I didn't have an issue with parking for the numerous times I've gone. The bakery itself is cute, clean and has subtle hints and tributes to Filipino culture. They have a few tables inside and outside and they are dog friendly! Service is great! The team is constantly working and moving. Everytime I've gone they've always been very polite. Owner is a young hardworking Filipina so I love giving my support. You can tell she put her passion and love into this bakery. Price matches what you get! They're reasonably priced treats! My favorite cupcake is the Mahal Lahaina! All their treats aren't too sweet, their cupcakes are super moist! I've been wanting to try their Bibingka Donuts, I think they're probably their best seller cause every time I get there, they're already sold out, so one day I will lol. Their matcha is yummy! Very smooth! But if I'm being honest, their Hojicha might be one of my faves now. It's so good and I get it everytime! I 100% say you should go give this place your support! Support local and get yourself some yummy treats! I know I'll be back!

We first tried visiting Sinta yesterday (Mon 3/30), but they were unexpectedly closed. Thankfully, we returned today (Tues 3/31 -- Farmworkers Day) and were finally able to sample a great selection of their baked goods. Unfortunately, their signature Bibingka Donuts were already sold out by 11:15 AM -- which honestly says a lot about how popular they are! The items we brought home included: Mini DIY Selly, Mini Mahal Lahaina, Mini Ube, Mini Ube Leche Flan, Mini Mango Matcha, Puff Pastry, and gluten-free Pavlovas. At the time of writing this review, the only item we had tried was the Puff Pastry -- and it was excellent. It tasted fresh, perfectly balanced (not overly sweet), and wasn't as messy as typical puff pastries thanks to its flaky texture and thoughtful toppings. The portion size was just right to satisfy a sweet craving without feeling heavy. Service moved efficiently despite a steady crowd, and the wait wasn't bad at all. Prices were also very reasonable, especially considering the quality and variety offered. We had already had our coffee for the day, so we didn't get to try their specialty hot drinks this visit -- but that just gives us another reason to come back. Parking can be a bit challenging during the morning rush, though we were lucky to find a spot about a block away. We're already looking forward to returning -- and hopefully next time we'll arrive early enough to finally try those Bibingka Donuts!

Sinta is giving Yaqui Coffee some real competition just a couple doors down! I saw my friend post about their bibingka donut and immediately tried to pull up... but man, that line was OUTRAGEOUS...so I decided to come back later already accepting my fate... and by the grace of God they still had some left!! They were limiting it to one per person, which I actually respected. Let everyone get a shot. And let me tell you... worth it. The top had that perfect caramelized finish and the whole thing was soft, warm, and just damn.. Brought the kids with me too they got the Mahal Lahaina, DIY cupcake Both were hits! I wanted to try the Mrs. Nguyen coffee but they were sold out. All good though.. I settled fk Filipino-inspired decor is super dope, clean, and welcoming. Even the bathroom was cute and well kept you already know that matters!! This feels like a solid spot to chill, study we're coming back for sure for sure! Especially for the sweets!

I really liked that they had candles and cake decorations as well in the store and I bought a few Birthday embellishments which were all $1 each, great price! The staff was nice but not too friendly when I was trying to find out more about the cakes and flavors, I had to read the labels since she didn't provide me any details. The cake was just okay, it was very dense and a bit dry. The marshmallow frosting was a little thick and the overall flavors were definitely different but not sure I would get this flavor again. I would like to try a few more flavors and maybe a tres leches cake to see how those are. It is located in Chula Vista in a small shopping center, limited parking available.

They sell their señorita bread in multiples of 5, and the price scales proportionally. They also have some packaged breads at the checkout counter and a display case with donuts and malasadas. I got 5 señorita breads for $4, and a guava malasada. When I was handed my bag of goods, the señorita breads were still warm! I've never had this type of bread before so I have no comparison. However, the fat, cigar-shaped breads were really satisfying while hot and fresh. They are buttery, sugary, and chewy inside. The texture was a bit homogenous for me, but still quite tasty. I had a second one hours later and it was not as nice. I think they would definitely benefit from a reheat if you have leftovers. The guava malasada was not my favorite. The jam inside was more musty than fragrant, and very artificially red. The dough itself was well-fried and soft, even fresh out of the refrigerator on the second day. I love the textural difference of the sugar crystals on the surface, compared to a traditional donut glaze. I ended up scooping the guava filling out of the middle and eating the fried bread. Overall, while I enjoyed the señorita breads, Chula Vista is a bit of a trek and I would not go out of my way to get them. I am interested in trying Starbread in the Bay, to see if they taste different.

The first thing that caught our eye was the seasonal Tokyo Banana Latte, and we knew for sure we had to get it. When we went inside Asa, the space was spacious, with a lot of folks already inside hanging out with friends and studying/working. The interior was very Japandi, which was expected and very cute. We did not have a wait, and there was no line at 1:30 p.m. We ordered a couple of items to share among us. The service, by the way, was very friendly, and they were very open to answering any questions we had, which was awesome. Between the group, we ordered: * Miso Croque Monsieur: I wish this had a bit more ham, in my opinion. While the pastry itself is unique, I wish it were a bit less salty. The miso really shined through, but I was unsure if it was balanced and well-rounded. * Lime Tart: Probably our favorite thing here, actually! The brightness of the citrus stood out but was not overpowering. It had a light, custardy flavor. * Berry Melon Pan: Standard classic melon pan with a subtle berry filling. It is more of a coagulated consistency rather than a jammy interior like we initially thought, but not bad. * Chicken Katsu Sandwich: The shokupan had a nice bounce, and their chicken was nice and juicy. * Matcha Tiramisu: Even though I am an avid lover of matcha, this might have been too much. The topping of matcha made the dessert bitter, and we were a bit surprised by the lack of ladyfingers. * Tokyo Banana Latte: Best banana latte, heads up! I am already a big fan of Tokyo Banana, so this really took the cake. The banana milk was not too sweet, just the way I like it. I would say that I did not think it stood out enough to rave to folks about coming here, but overall, not bad.

So, if you never had a pandesal and you love bread, you must try this! Get them warm and fresh, with butter, OMG! But, they have so many other desserts and food bites to try. We specifically came for the fresh pandesal, which I was craving and my husband, the best, searched for a place to enjoy some fresh pandesal. This last visit we got Ensamayda (cheese roll) for our daughters. They also have the Ube Ensamayda. Besides the small sized pandesal we selected, we got a Mocha Roll too. Everything was delicious. The empanada was super delicious, crispy on the outside, flavorful filling, and honestly HUGE... like the size of a carne asada burrito. Definitely worth it. You can tell it's made right. I'll for sure be coming back. If you've been wanting to try Ilocos empanada without the hassle, this is the spot!
