Stopped by Pho To Thi on a cold Sunday evening for a warm bowl of pho. It's a good sized location with plenty of space and booth seating. I got my usual, brisket and rare flank. Used to come here a lot about 10 or 15 years ago but haven't been back. This place just popped up in my search for Pho and wanted to give it a try again. We were seated right away and I was very happy to see a kids bowl on the menu. As a toddler parent, it awesome seeing restaurants supporting families with kid options. Plenty of room and quick to sit, easily accommodated us in a booth. I thought the Mongolian beef hit the spot. It's often harder to find in most Chinese food chains, albeit this is a Vietnamese Pho place. Not too spicy and the rice goes well with it. Good fried egg rolls (shrimp and pork), although they do come with the less sweet (and more vinegar) dipping sauce. Will definitely consider next time I'm in San Jose for dinner. read more

Local gem! The broth stands out versus other pho places we've been to - it's consistently delicious, and the meat and noodles are both solid. Spring rolls (both veg and shrimp) are clean and the peanut sauce is addictive. We tried the Shaking Beef in our last visit, and were also really impressed with the tenderness and flavor. All food has always been fantastic here. I first began visiting Pho To Thi ~12 years ago, and after moving away and back again to San Jose, I was delighted to see they had made it through the pandemic. Great small family owned business. They are always friendly and the service is fast. I always get the pho with chicken- yum! My son loves the egg rolls. They now have banh mi sandwiches. Nice clean place. Very accommodating since my wife and I were getting on our lunch from work so we called to ordered ahead. Most places don't let you but they did so we when we got there, we were seated and shortly after received our food. I got the pho combination and my wife got the grilled pork vermecelli. Even though maybe less than half of their tables were full - they probably had a lot of to-go order. Regardless, the staff were very nice. The food was okay. For the price, the portion sizes were mediocre and the taste was a little weak for my taste. However, everyone has a different profile. She had her hand on the menu while i was ordering! Whats the rush?! There was only a handful of customers! Then she had to ask me again to confirm my order. I'm always disappointed to write bad reviews, but the food here is not good. I guess a new owner took over in the last month or so? The staff kept forgetting parts of the meal (spring rolls didn't have sauce, no spoons to eat the pho, forgot the fish sauce that goes with the noodle dish). It wasn't worth it at all. I was really bummed out to try a new place, but the pho lacked all flavor, the meat was scarce, the noodles were literally noodles pork and cucumbers with fried onions from a can, and it just was not a good experience, unfortunately. There's much better places to eat in San Jose. Skip this one. It's empty for a reason. read more

Had lunch here today - this is my new favorite Pho restaurant in south San Jose. There are two other Pho restaurants nearer to my house, but they do not do as good a job making a flavorable broth as Pho To Thi. Husband and I had #6 and #11. Not sure what the dried meat was but it was not what I ordered. When I order from others places in the area I usually get the Filet Mignon thinly sliced (bottom part of photo) but with this order there was like maybe about 4-5 pieces and the rest was whatever the top portion of the photo was.
