As soon as we came in we got sat by a lady , where the sun was hitting our table very much so before we even ordered I asked if it was okay to sit at a table by the door to get air. She said no you can sit at another one (no where near the door). I said "wait you're not letting me sit by the door?" and she said super rude "okay but once you move you can't move again I don't want you to ask to move again." I was shocked that she even responded with that. So I grabbed my baby and left , if I'm paying for the food I don't see why it should bother her where I sit. She started speaking in her language probably speaking bad about me which doesn't seem professional at all. I've been eating at Pho Wagon for 7 or 8 years and generally happy with their offerings. The pho is fresh, with tasty broth- not the best I've ever had but a solid 4. Their lemongrass pork rice plates and spring rolls are also good, and consistent. The setting is clean. The reason I'm giving it only a 3 is the terrible customer service. I dined recently with two visiting relatives and the service was rushed; the old lady ignored us and when I finally got her to come over to our table, she was downright rude. Another guy was rushing through everything like his hair was on fire. The restaurant was about 3/4 full for lunch and we paid $65 or so for 3 lunches, so it's not cheap. Got the pho special, which includes brisket, tripe, tendon, rare steak, and flank. The pho special (pho dac biet) usually comes with meatballs, but my order did not include any. The broth was light, and lacked the rich pho flavor I was expecting. I also ordered the chicken spring rolls, which were okay. They tasted like they were premade and had been sitting in the fridge rather than freshly prepared. Since this was a takeout order, I also did not receive any plastic utensils or chopsticks, which was disappointing. I've been dining at Pho Wagon since they opened about 13 years ago. If I remember correctly, the restaurant used to be a Burger King. They did a good job transforming it in to a Vietnamese restaurant. I hadn't eaten there in a few years until tonight. I'd never tried their pho before, but the reviews were positive. I had the beef pho delivered. The broth was extremely hot; I had to use pot holders to pour it into the bowl. They give you quite a bit of raw steak-- I couldn't believe how many pieces there were. Overall, the pho was very good, with flavorful broth that I enjoyed with the cilantro and onions they provide in a little bag. I also ordered the spring rolls with veggies, shrimp, and pork. They tasted fresh and delicious, and the peanut dipping sauce was very good, too. The pho is slightly more expensive than most places in San Jose. I don't mind paying more because of the large portions and because it tastes fresh and well prepared. read more

I would always drive by this place and one day decided to stop in for lunch. Upon walking in, we were greeted and sat right away. The nice older lady came over and took our order promptly. Came in on a Saturday night and this place can fill up during the later hours. Plenty of parking in the plaza but traffic can get busy due to all the to go orders. Started off with the fried shrimp which were great. They were a little hot so needed to let them cool down, but it also allowed them to become more crispy. I then moved onto a large bowl of make your own pho. Had the meatballs, rare steak, and brisket. This broth is so flavorful and came out piping hot. My family has been going to and ordering from Pho Wagon since I was a kid! We dined in recently for dinner on a Tuesday so I wanted to write a review. I ordered the Vietnamese Chicken Salad and a Thai Tea. The Chicken Salad was huge, so tall! It was very refreshing though since it was hot out and just what I was craving, comes with a lot of chicken mixed in and a little bit of peanuts on the side. The Thai Tea comes in a tall glass also and was surprisingly pretty sweet. My mom custom-made her own pho and my grandma got a fried rice dish - both servings huge. My mom also got Coconut Juice which had coconut pieces in it. The staff was extremely kind as well, being very attentive and helping my grandma box her leftovers. The menu offers a variety and what I loved most is that they have a kid's portion for pho (comes w/ tai) but as we went about our meals, he wanted tripe so I ordered a side. The side we were given was extremely generous. My Pho Dac Biet was really goodm light and aromatic broth.. the crispy tofu is delicious, too. I had always wanted to try out Pho Wagon whenever I visit the yarn store nearby and today one of my friends came with me to my yarn store trip so we checked out Pho Wagon. Starting from when we first entered the restaurant was well decorated and tables were spaced far apart to observe social distancing. It was overall very clean compared to other Vietnamese restaurants I've been to. The staff wears masks and gloves when handling food and tables are thoroughly sanitized between customers. Today I tried out their rare steak and brisket pho with Thai iced tea and both did not disappoint! They offer small and large bowls for the pho which was not listed in the menu but the menu does offer add-ons for extra noodles and meat. As we exited my car, the three of us could smell a sweet aroma coming from all around the plaza. Yum! We have three pho restaurants within 3miles from our home. This has more of our favs on the menu. PW has the best veggie pho, includes broccoli, tofu, carrots, etc. and the broth is tasty. Fresh spring rolls and vermicelli bowl are also fresher than other restaurants. Lastly our other favorite is the yellow noodle wonton and Bok choy soup! Already went here like 3 times in a span of a month with my cousin. Their fried chicken wings are the bomb as well as their wanton soup. I get the wanton soup with egg noodles. Our most recent visit, we tried the crispy tofu bites appetizer and it was super delicious (even more so when you eat it with the soup). Why didn't we find this place earlier! We found this place since I wanted to check out an old friend's place near the Willow Glen area and afterwards we wanted somewhere to eat, pho-wise. So this pho popped up within the vicinity. A very nice restaurant & quite clean & nice inside & also loving the entrance with the plants. It's quite home-y with a family-friendly environment.
