I live/work close to this joint and do enjoy a good bowl of pho every now and again, but these people are ridiculous. We sent our coworker in to pick-up an order and assumed they'd be legit and honest after our last issues with them trying to overcharge...wrong! 1st, do not EVER give these people your debit card unless you are prepared to get overcharged and have unauthorized "tips" added on. Secondly, you cannot trust them with cash either. The Cat at the register will slip you the proper paper currency, but will try to hold back on your coins. Our bill was $29.48 we handed over $40, this guy puts out $10.05 as change and proceeds to run to the backroom after we asked for a receipt. Why rip off customers who are trying to help your business survive in Times-O-Rona? We won't be going back, EVER, as this is the 3rd time we've had to debate change/charges. Their food was good, but not good enough to justify being disrespected at the register. Keep that change buddy, because I will NEVER send another person thru your doors. read more

Food used to be amazing , but now it's a hit or a miss.. same goes for their customer service . I've noticed two different male employees (usually just 1 at a time) working the counter taking orders and collecting payments. 1 of the two guys provide AMAZING EXCELLENT SERVICE, while the other guy provides THE WORST SERVICE EVER. For example: food is ready, however he just lets it sit there while we're waiting outside. And he NEVER comes out to notify us that it's been ready for pick up. It's common courtesy. Also if you pay cash- he doesn't even give or offer change back. Not good business practice. I feel bad that they've lost business (good loyal customers) because they are so inconsistent with their service. Their inconsistency isn't worth my repeated business. read more

I really need a local pho to call home. Altho, this one doesn't meet all my criteria, it comes pretty close. Their pho is OK. The broth is decent. Their eggrolls were crispy and hot. I like that it is not so crowded and is more laid backed. The interiors are nicely modern and the restrooms clean. Pho 4 queen is a hidden gem. Who would have thought I was able to find great Vietnamese food in San Marcos ?!!! Unlike many other Asian restaurants, I didn't walk out of here smelling like Asialn foods The foods : grew up in a traditional Vietnamese household where almost every meal is home cooked by my wonderful mother, I hold high expect for restaurant Vietnamese foods. THough this place was known for pho, I was in the mood for a grilled pork & egg rolls versemili noodle. Most Asian restaurants pan fried their pork, but 4 queen actually grilled their meat !! There are grilled marks and the pork smelled wonderful. The eggrolls were crunchy but not oily. The fish Sauce but I can use more lemon and pepper. The vegies were fresh and nicely cut. The last thing you want is stale vegies. I loved how The Vietnamese coffee was very strong !! I can use a bit less condensed milk though. How on earth am I the only person to mention that the rudest waitress on the planet works here? Does she hate life or what? Every time we come here she gives us MAJOR attitude, like once we ordered the fried egg rolls and she was like all egg rolls are fried, that's what egg rolls mean. Um ok! We were just trying to differentiate between spring rolls versus egg rolls ok?? Then tonight my husband asked for forks and she was like they're right here! Excellent Pho! I've been eating pho for last 35 years all over the US and in Asia. Excellent Pho! The broth is tasty, not too salty with a fresh herb flavor left in your mouth. The noodles are thinner vermicelli cooked at just the right texture and volume. Generous amount of meat: Tai, brisket and tripe. Great service, good location AND the large is only $7.95! This place has good (enough) food, but a few rather sneaky business practices. For a period of roughly 3 months, we frequented this spot on a weekly basis. Good food, good service, easy phone ordering, but...they never seemed to have proper change in the register? Our last bill was a total of $37.38, which we paid with two, twenty-dollar bills...once again, due to not having coins, they tried to round the bill up to $38. If you go in, watch your bill and count your change. This place has a bad habit of "accidentally" giving incorrect totals and keeping their customers change. read more

This place was my go to while in North County SD. My phö has always been delicious, with huge portions, fresh, and tasty! I always get the veggie/tofu phö. It was also my friend's favorite place to go, that is, until the last three times, we got to-go orders, and his came out wrong all three times. All three times he ended up not eating what they gave him because it wasn't even close to his order, and apparently something a little too exotic, that he would never eat. This place is good for Pho. It's not absolutely amazing, but a solid and delicious bowl. My wife had the chicken and I had the shrimp. We enjoyed both very much. Portion size is as it should be, way too much (of course I ate all of mine). The place is quiet and tucked away in a corner of the San Marcos Village. The windows are dark so you may think it's closed, so just pay attention to the open sign. This place also serves a variety of beers by the bottle/can. You can't go wrong with a hot bowl of pho and a cold Sapporo. We would definitely eat here again. read more

Their pho was excellent. I ordered the large house special. The large bowl was a huge serving size for just a dollar more than a regular size. I really enjoyed it. Ample parking. Service was good, there was only one waiter for everyone, so if it gets busy, service may suffer, but I came in when less than half the restaurant was occupied. Cost is less than $8 which is fair. They have numerous other dishes on the menu that is vegetarian friendly and other main entrees if you don't want pho. So this is not just a pho place, but rather a Vietnamese restaurant overall. My folks had been here before and they really enjoyed it so we all decided to head over for lunch today. The shopping center the restaurant is in, is definetly a bit run down - but the place itself is clean and decent especially considering the area. We ordered the Steak Pho and the Stir Fried Veggies with Shrimp on Crispy noodles. The Pho was really good but the Stir Fried Veggies and Shrimp was really delicious. It reminded me a kind of lobster sauce with bok choy, carrots, broccoli. The price was also very reasonable - I believe the Pho was only like $6 give or take. This is one and the only Vietnamese restaurant in San Diego that you go check it out if you like to eat Vietnamese food. The quality of soups and all other dishes always taste fresh no matter what time of the day or days of the week you come to eat. I especially like the grilled pork dish (shown in the attached photo). It is Bún ch Hà Ni, one of the best dishes from northern Vietnam where I was born and raised. I know how it is supposed to taste and I am very happy to find this dish here at the restaurant where the meat was marinated and charcoal grilled perfectly. Very flavorful!!! The owner of the restaurant is a very nice lady and generous. Her pricing seems low for the quality, volume, and service the restaurant offers to the public. I really feel hesitant asking for more of something unless it is really necessary since she provided a lot of food each I came for such a small amount of money. Wow! I can't tell you the last time I've had delicious broth before. I ordered their spring rolls and pho. Both delicious and tasty. The broth alone was to die for and there was tons of it for a small bowl! Usually you get more rice noodles than broth but this place gave the right amount of noodles and extra broth. That is perfect, especially if you're sick. I also got their Vietnamese coffee which was also really really good! My two year old son ate too, which is rare. I've been trying to watch what I eat recently. I wanted to get some food for takeout but all the normal places I go to are NOT very healthy. (in n out, sonic, five guys, noodles&co, Tony's Mexican, etc.) I decided to try out Pho 4 Queen, I haven't had pho in like three years and I wanted to get out of my comfort zone, and I'm aware that it was sort of a "health food" craze a couple years ago, so why not. I called in and got the large House Special pho and the grilled pork skewer appetizer, to go. They had it ready in under ten minutes, which was absolutely awesome--I thought for sure I would have to hang around there for a little while, but it was waiting for me right when I walked in. The place was empty (Monday afternoon at around 4:30, not a whole lot of people eating soup around that time, I'm assuming) The lady behind the counter was very nice, greeted me as I walked in, asked me if I had called ahead, etc. The total came to $12.48, and I ended up walking out with a (pretty gigantic) bag that was radiating heat and smelled absolutely heavenly. I got to the table and unloaded the bag, inside was about a full liter of broth, a box of warm soft rice noodles and meat to mix into the broth, a bag of veggies and fresh herb-y plants, and a little styrofoam platter with veggies and a skewer on it (alongside some semi-sweet yellow dressing/sauce along with some classic Asian chili sauce) I quickly realized that I had just bought about 4 meals for the next few days! I tried it, and it was absolutely phenomenal. the pork was cooked perfectly, the beef was tasty, the broth had some really interesting spices in it, there was plenty of texture and crunchy and noodly stuff in the broth. For a somewhat lighter option, I'm not feeling like I was left with a halfway empty stomach. It was wonderfully savory and 100% satisfying, probably the most satisfying meal I've had in the last few weeks. I am extremely happy with my visit, I have no idea why this place didn't have more customers. I'm definitely going to start coming here regularly. read more
