    Combination pho

Came in for a bowl of pho, and a small dish for my toddler. The food is fairly priced and tasty but be prepared for very slow service and a server who is more preoccupied with being on her phone than helping you. Also, because there are few patrons they have no AC on which leads to an uncomfortable meal, with flies buzzing around. On a lighter not, you get to occasionally enjoy hearing one of them hitting the bug zapper.

Stopped by Pho 4 Queen for lunch and really enjoyed everything we ordered. We had the rare steak pho, rare steak & tendon pho, and a bowl of rice porridge -- all comforting, well-prepared, and satisfying. The pho broth was clean, aromatic, and full of flavor without being overly greasy. The rare steak was tender, and the tendon was soft and gelatinous, soaking up the broth perfectly. You can tell the broth is well-crafted, which makes a big difference. The rice porridge was warm, smooth, and comforting -- a nice change of pace and great if you're in the mood for something lighter but still flavorful. Service was quick, portions were generous, and everything came out hot. Solid spot for classic Vietnamese comfort food. I'd definitely come back.

I ordered take out. I have been craving chao ga (chicken rice porridge) but I am too lazy to make it even though it's pretty easy. I was looking online and saw this place has it. So I called for pick up. IT IS DELICIOUS. I cannot believe I didn't know about this place. I want to come back to try their other dishes. I love a Vietnamese restaurant that serves other dishes and not just pho or banh mi. Because we eat other things. Lol

My husband and I got in 30 minutes before close but they were willing to seat us which I am very grateful about. The prices were unbeatable with our entire meal (large pho, spring rolls and pork chop rice plate) costing only $33 before tip! The broth was flavorful and the noodles filled me up. I will say that I had a piece of overly chewy tendon but overall I had no complaints as there was a generous portion of meat. The place was very casual - much like hole in the wall feel but if you're looking for a delicious and affordable pho or rice plate, you're definitely in the right place!

Very solid pho spot in San Marcos! Super great pricing and EXTREMELY generous portions of meat in the pho!! The noodles are thicker than you normally come across, service was straightforward and the atmosphere friendly. I will definitely come back next time I am looking for a hearty meal. A very pleasant surprise in an unassuming parking lot!!

Pho 4 Queen is a great spot for Vietnamese food in San Marcos. I enjoyed the Rare Steak Pho; it was a comforting and flavorful meal.

    Banh Xeo

I've only had the banh xeo and it was delicious. Crispy on the edges with lots of fresh greens. Will definitely go back.

I liked their catering food. They were really nice too. But, the cost was too high, 70 something per person.

This was the best bowl of pho I've ever had. As someone who in a new city everyday I've had a lot of pho bowls across California. The broth was so rich and full of flavor. Gunna make the drive again. Quick service, open floor seating. Everything you want in a pho spot.

The food was delicious! The lady was super sweet too. I ordered #13 with extra chili oil. Yum!

To say I love Pho is to under state it. But it's definitely difficult to find a really good place with yummy broth. After trying several places, it was time to try this place. And now I'm done looking as this is that place I will be coming from now on to get my pho fix. I ordered over the phone. When I got there, the food was being packed. So I paid and waited for few minutes. It was perfectly packed with hots and colds. I ordered #4 cooked beef pho and my husband had the pho without meat with chicken broth. Everything was so aromatic that we couldn't wait to get home. But once we put it all together at home,it was perfection! I rarely can finish a meal and I gobbled it down. Yep, it was that good! Both my husband and I loved it and will definitely be ordering from here or coming to eat here from now on.

Ban Xeo. Crispy and delicious. The home Made fish sauce was also really nice.

Not authentic enough for anyone with an Asian background. Yet good enough for a quick causal local lunch.

Very good phở. The best phở in north San Diego . Even though sometimes it's slow, but it is worth to wait to eat the soup there.

We had three bowls of ramen, gyoza, edamame, and a chicken teriyaki bowl for my son. He likes his food very plain--no sauce, onions, or extras--so his order was a little different from ours. His meal came out separately, a little late, and the owner was genuinely bothered that everything hadn't arrived together. She kept apologizing. We kept telling her it was totally fine, but she really cared about making sure we were taken care of. The restaurant is small and cozy; the food was good, the service was very friendly, and the restroom was clean. We'd definitely come back if we're in the area again. Recommend!

For small bites she said the Pork Gyoza is the most popular appetizer so I had to try it. The pan fried edges made for a wonderful texture as well as the pork filling. Definitely a great way to start the meal. For the my main entree she recommend I try the BST signature ramen that features a Sio Tonkotsu Base with Black Umami Garlic Oil. For a first timer at Ramen Mik this was an excellent choice with its rich, creamy broth surrounded by fresh garlic, stir fried vegetables, green onion and ginger. The noodles were fresh and had an excellent bite to them. It was a very tasty bowl of ramen and I recommend trying the BST. Overall great first time experience at Ramen Mik as service was great, plenty of seating and parking making it very accessible. Can't wait to come back and try their other dishes such as Japanese curry, beef bowls and tonkatsu.

It's a good size dining room with many tables and a few booths. The service was very friendly. It looked like a small family owned business. We arrived early during lunch on a Sunday and was one of the only groups there. But it did fill up pretty quickly after that! We started off with appetizers and probably ordered a little too much. The seasoned cucumbers looked interesting so we got an order of those. It ended up being big chunks of cucumbers in a soy sauce marinade. It was just alright and not super tasty or anything. I have to admit, I have made more flavorful cucumbers at home. Perhaps it was the type of cucumber which was not my favorite. They used regular American cucumbers instead of English or Persian cucumbers, which I prefer. We also ordered the fish sauce fried chicken wings. They were decent but nothing to write home about. We also had a couple orders of eggrolls. Of the three appetizers, this one was the tastiest. The one thing I wish they provided with the egg rolls is lettuce and herbs to wrap the egg rolls with. Instead, there was a little side of pickled cabbage and carrots. For our main entrées, we ordered bun bo hue. It was pretty good and I finished most of it. It came with your basic items and not a lot of meat. There was no pork hock or anything like that. Tendon was probably the most different type of meat in there. We also had the combination fried rice, vermicelli noodles and grilled pork, and broken rice with grilled pork with a fried egg. Sure, I'd return if I was in the area again and craving Vietnamese food.

For this visit, I tried the beef pares for the first time. I don't recall my family ever making it, so I thought I'd give it a go. It reminded of adobo but sweet with a little hint of star anise. The only drawback was bitting into little pieces of it, but overall, I enjoyed it. It is a small spot, so seating is first come, first serve. The staff is always friendly and the music selection is always good. If you're lucky you might even hear Ate signing from the kitchen.

One of the ladies at the counter seemed like she didn't want us there or she was just done for the day. She definitely did not give friendly vibes at all. We also weren't served any water at all, while we watched every single customer that came after us get served water. We had to ask for some at the counter, and even then, there were no apologies for forgetting or anything. Like we were really supposed to ask for it, but everyone else didn't. The lechon kawali was tough--it's supposed to be crunchy, but it was far from that. It was hard and dry more than anything. The pork sinigang was supposed to have pork belly as stated in their menu, but it did not seem like it was pork belly at all--more like remnants or trimmings from unwanted pork bits. Some pieces were chewy and didn't look very appetizing. Sinigang is also supposed to be sour from the tamarind, but the soup we got was extremely watered down that you only get the slightest hint of sourness from it. The lumpiang sariwa was okay--nothing to write home about. On top of all that, we came during a very hot day and were excited to have some halo-halo, only to find out that they have run out. In the span of time we were there eating, we have watched them tell maybe 4 or 5 groups of customers that they're all out of halo-halo. I get that their halo-halo is special and different than the usual ones you get elsewhere, but you'd think they'd be more prepared for this, seeing that this is not their first summer rodeo... I'm not sure if this is an every day thing for this place, but I'm really hoping it's not. I don't think we'll be coming back after the experience we just had.

My complaint was that the pork was dry and the lettuce had some wilted edges, which I was wary about. Other than that the shrimp inside and batter was delicious.
